A great historic place to visit. You can get background on what you find in other parks. A statue of him is in DC in Presidents Park.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial, at 301 Pine Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, preserves the home of Tadeusz Kościuszko. The life and work of the Polish patriot and hero of the American Revolution are commemorated here. Kosciuszko returned to the United States in August 1797 to a heros welcome after his wounding, capture, imprisonment, and banishment from his native Poland occupied by Russia. Kosciuszkos secretary, Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz, having been instructed to find a dwelling as small, as remote, and as cheap as possible, chose Mrs. Ann Relfs boarding house at the corner of 3rd and Pine Streets in Society Hill. Here, where Kosciuszko recuperated from his wounds while rarely leaving the house, he was visited by numerous luminaries of the day, including Vice President Thomas Jefferson, architect Benjamin Latrobe, William Paterson (a signer of the US Constitution), Chief Little Turtle of the Miami people, and Chief Joseph Brant of the Mohawk nation. He returned to Europe the following June to support the restoration of a divided Poland.

As an American of Polish descent, one raised in panhandle Florida and who has lived in New York for 20 years, it is sad how few monuments we have to our forefathers of foreign birth. In New York there is a bridge named for Kosciuszko but no one really seems to know what his role was during the Revolutionary War. And here in New York, unlike Philadelphia and Boston, we have preserved far too little of our pre- and Revolutionary history. It is a real shame, though few that come after will likely even notice.

One of the few parks devoted to relatively humble inside life of the early post colonial urban America. Beautiful neighborhood that can transport you through time. Finally, if you are Polish or Polish-American this is a valuable touchstone for the communitys importance and value to American history.

This is an amazing man and by giving him his own museum we insure that his legacy will remain. Any person who helped at the battle of Saratoga which was the major turning point of the war deserves his own museum (besides Benedict Arnold). Enjoy and learn.

The smallest unit of the National Park Service, Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial tells the story of the incredible general and national hero of both Poland and America. If anything, a visit here will help you learn to pronounce his name. Takes about 20 minutes to explore.

The smallest NPS unit is worth the visit. The story of Thaddeus Kosciusko is told in an easy to understand video. The house is suprisinglt modern inside and acts as a visitor center with only one room recreated to the time period.

It was a pleasure to see the place where this great man lived, ate and slept. Small house with small room and great history for both of our nations.
