Truly awe-inspiring. A hidden gem of a memorial near the Philly waterfront depicting the plight of the Irish immigrants from the potato famine. Very interesting and informative and such a thoughtful centerpiece, which is a cast of what appears to be clay work, as one very large piece portraying the timeline from the discovery of the potato famine straight up to the arrival of the starving immigrants in the new world. Wonderfully thought out and a must see if youre touring around the waterfront, even if only for a quick visit.

A real interesting & impressive monument/memorial about the Irish emigrants. Its relatively inconspicuous, but once you have found it, you will be enthralled by its fascinating appearance and great design.Around the monument you will find a lot of plates which explain the corresponding history behind the gorgeous artwork.

Beautiful sculpture depicting the Irish famine known as The Great Hunger. Many of the Irish boldly took to the seas to travel to America in hopes of finding a better chance at life and opportunities. The statue is quite poignant and the artist did a fantastic job depicting both the face of burden and celebration among pride.I hope to update this review with additional photos of all sides of the sculpture. There is much more to this work.

This memorial was well maintained and quite striking. In addition to the statue, plaques contained information about Irish immigration, the Great Famine and other historical details. The Memorial is well placed next to the river allowing for the open river to the East and Center City to the West. However, its not as serene because of the nearby highways. Anyone with Irish ancestry should stop by to pay a moment of respect.

This is an awesome free park in Old City Philadelphia, near Penns Landing, Pa. The Irish Memorial is one of the most amazing tribute casted sculptures Ive ever seen. It is sure to evoke emotions when you see it. Within this park there is even a dog park area! Highly recommended as one of the best family-free things to see in the area! Bring your cameras!

A memorial for the Irish immigrants who arrived in America to escape famine, persecution and poverty. A great reminder that the majority of us came here from somewhere else to escape poverty, repression etc. Good lesson for all of us!

Great hidden little park, that includes a small dog park. The statue commemorating the plight of the Irish immigration to the US is the focus of the park and it is brilliant. Erin Go Bragh!

This tribute park includes both tributes to those from Irish and Scottish immigrants. It’s fitting since the sculptor who did the William Penn statue on top of city hall building was of Scottish decent. The park and presentation of art/statues is very well done. Is located next to a small little dog park and is very well located being close to River Rink park and City Tavern and entrance into historical district of Philadelphia. It’s worth a quick walk through the park if you are on the area.
