The pieces at this concrete park are all part of an art installation called “Your Move” by artists Daniel Martinez, Renee Petropoulis and Roger White. Created in 1996 and dedicated in 1997. There are super sized dominoes, chess pieces, Parcheesi, and Monopoly pieces. It was meant to add whimsy to the grey surroundings of the Philadelphia Municipal Services Building (which some residents consider to be one of the ugliest buildings in the city). And also to say that it’s hard to follow the rules (because there is so much confusion inside that building) when so many games are mixed up.
Great for pictures and skateboarding.
This is a park over run by scate boarders with wax on the seats for easier grinding walking one end to the other you have to watch out for eight to nine scaters doing kick flips and various tricks and its still the winter, summer is crazy. The at pieces are interesting and I enjoyed the building but this is not a place Im running to get back to.
So this place is filled with scary people. It’s dirty and unappealing, avoid.
So fun!
Dope!
