Mitchell Park is a great visit for everybody in the family. There are places to walk and take your dog. There are places for tennis or other similar sporting. Theres plenty of playgrounds for the kids to play. And theres lots of open space to run around play football and other creative activities. I especially like that because its so open, theres limited restrictions due to the pandemic. So feel free to escape for a little while and get a relaxing walk. Not too far from the park is the library and a nice cafe to grab a bite to eat.
Enormous, beautiful park that can easily host hundreds of people participating in various activities. large, flat grassy fields and a fantastic playground for kids of all sizes to play! (amusing for both adults and children!) i go here to play ultimate frisbee and theres always good, free space on a flat grassy field to mark a field without disturbing anyone else. not too noisy, also great for relaxing! definitely one of the best parks in the area!
Best Park Ever. The park of my childhood. Its big. Its beautiful. It literally has something for everyone. Hipsters stay away
One of the few places I can play horseshoes. Been having family events for years and counting. One of the favorite parks in PA. The magical playground Edition is really great for little ones. Awesome Park!
All in all its a great place. A couple of the Racquetball/ Hanball Courts could use some patching on the floor. Otherwise really enjoyed my visit here.
Always a nice place to visit. The playgrounds and barbecue areas as well as the benches are closed right now. It will be nice when everything reopens and you can sit at a picnic bench or the kids can play at the park the magical playground is also close to the public right now.
Nice live music. Peaceful surroundings. Not crowded.
Many green patches and sitting places. People come here to play tennis, dance, chat, and simply sit and enjoy the quietness.
A spacious park in the midst of a community center, library, tennis courts, three schools, a little league baseball diamond, a dog park, skating bowl, and several play structures. I would consider the openness to be its highlight — and it’s proximity to magical bridge (an innovative/inclusion-focused playground)!
Huge local park with multiple playgrounds. Excellent spot for kids, tons of open space for running around. I prefer the older playground near East Meadow because it is less crowded and has a water feature. The Magical Bridge playground is amazing but too crowded for me.
It’s a huge park with lots to do - large green space to run around, big playground with water feature, tennis and basketball courts, cafe and library nearby. You can watch people practicing Tai-Chi, other martial arts, playing sports. Parking is big but gets full on weekends as park is very popular.Restrooms available. Parking is free. EV charging stations by library.
Anxiously waiting for the magical bridge to open again!
A fantastic place to play Pickleball! Plenty of courts, wide spectrum of players, diverse community. If your a family the playground is top notch, and the library (with café) cant be beat. Overall a great park.
Loved the different activities you can do here.
The park is clean and well maintained. This park is ideal for toddlers and babies. There is a splash pad that is open in the summertime with nearby bathrooms. There isn’t any shade near the playground. The playground has a structure, swings, and sand area. Parking is right next to the playground and it’s free. There are trails that lead to the magical bridge playground, shaded bbq picnic area, Ada’s cafe and the library. The community is very friendly as well.
I love this park and thier new playground area
Big open space. Great for a social distancing stroll
Huge park in a residential area of palo alto. I went on memorial day, and the park was full of families playing and having cookouts. It was really great seeing all types of people coming together and enjoying the outdoors.Theres also lots of tennis courts, some (chess) tables under partial cover, and a direct connection to the magical bridge playground for the kids.
Really enjoyed stretching our feet here. So much to do in this park. Tennis courts, playgrounds, dog walking and the magical bridge. Kids had so much fun here as did my wife and I after a long road trip, this was a little slice of heaven.
Its a great place to spend a whole day with kids. Its mulch playground, but just in 50 feets there is a playground with sandbox for babies. And there is one more big playground nearby - Magical bridge and great park between them - to walk and play. And nearby there is a library with a small cafe, so you may even relax there and have smth to eat.
The magical bridge is open!
Love this park, has one of the cleanest and safest play ground area for kids of all ages in the bay area. Even has a small water play area for those hot days. Make sure to bring your own cardboard so you can slide down the hill. Certain weekends there is actually a nice live band playing that plays in the playhouse stage area.
Calm and quite.happy place for walking
Nice open green space. Kind of windy and sun can be hard as there isnt much shade. Great place for a pick up soccer game.
My kiddos (3 and 8yrs, resp.) had a blast there. They found lots of friends to play with; they could not stop roaming around and exploring all the structures. All the kids were trying out creative ways to use the structures, e.g., pieces of cardboard boxes have being massively utilized as genuine sliding rugs (on all surfaces!). We had really good time there.
One of the biggest parks in Palo Alto and one of the busiest. Its sandwiched between a library/community center and a primary & middle school.Little League Baseball ParkBaseball FieldSoccer FieldTennis CourtsBasketball courts (at the middle school)Play structuresKids Park (Magical Bridge)Picnic tables & BBQ grillsRestroomsFree Parking
Great park. Clean, quiet, lots to do.
Beautiful park took, good to hang and take pictures
Its a large park with some big grassy areas with trees for shade, picnic areas, and playgrounds throughout. On a weekday around 1 pm werent too many people, but seemed pretty loud with traffic or construction or something. Can park at the library.
There are playgrounds and then there are playgrounds. Complete with expansive toddler and child play areas, this park is highly recommended. Great for kids. Soccer fields, playground and cool statues around. Clean bathroom available. Dog park there too.
The magical bridge playground is by far the funnest varied play area for kids. Even my 12 yearl old who appears the oldest as I sit in a comfy chair for parents seems to be tripping with pleasureLove this place. On addition to tennis enthusiasts, lots of wall practise. Mini tennis courts and a huge park for almost any outdoor activity. How did I miss this place
There are lots of routes to take, it beautiful, clean and has restrooms
This park is absolutely fabulous. It boast magical bridge park which is a MUST for adults and kids alike! It also has tennis courts, a dog park, open fields sometimes with Geese! The Mitchell park liabrary is also amazing. Plus you have a wonderful cafe onsite! They have a bbq area, and swings nearby. They also have two smaller playgrounds one has a water area and sand box complete with Tunnels. I come here almost daily.
Wonderful park! Great for all activities for all ages. Next to the library too. The grass is perfect for soccer too!
Its a great space for sports. Lots of people play volleyball and there are tennis and pickle ball courts as well as soccer fields. Theres lots of picnic areas as well, which are first come first serve although you can reserve them. The grass is usually a little thin and sparse but thats to be expected with California weather. There are 3 playgrounds which are really quite nice, especially Magical Bridge which is new. The Mitchell park library is also very close which has Adas cafe in front of it. Mitchell is connected to the JLS fields which are closed during school hours, but otherwise its a very large park, perfect for family gathering and parties.
Mitchell Park is a massive city park with something for everyone.Magical Bridge playground is especially delightful, but several other playgrounds on the grounds provide great options as well. For toddlers, the splash pad and adjacent playgrounds on the Meadow Dr side of the park offer a great place to hang out for hours.Large lawns with rolling hills are excellent for picnics for a group of any size.
Its clean & fun for people of all ages. On this day we went to see Caravanserai a tribute to Santana great great fun!!!
Everything you need in a city park - green field, walking paths, dog off-leash area, playgrounds, tennis courts, library and a coffee shop. It is one of the largest parks in Palo Alto. We were going there with my kids for years. Now we walk our dog there.
Nice public park near 4 Palo Alto school and a fire station. The library is attached to the property as well. During the day you can get some car-dwelling people parked there, but they are harmless. Well used by the community during the weekdays, and out of towners as well on the weekends. Highlight for me is the concrete bowl used by adult skate hockey players.
GREAT PLACE, MY GRANDSON LOVES TO GO THERE. VERY NICE PLACE NO WEIRD PEOPLE.
Perfect place for kids off all age. Parents can sit and read a book or just watch the kids have so much fun. Awesome for picnics too.
Very fun for go with the family and have a nice day
Very unique magical bridge park section of this area was a huge hit with the kids. Many different play ground items I hadnt seen anywhere else including an area with a pressure sensitive musical organ and many spinning chairs.
This park has lot of options within it. There is a playground, tennis courts, dog park, library, magical bridge for kids, play area and lots. Very well maintained and also lot of parking which is free..
Extremely nice place to just walk or play around with people
Huge, amazing park with so much to do. Magic Bridge Playground for little ones, pickleball for big ones. And everything in between. Tons of room to play and park. Parking can be busy but there are constantly people leaving so just wait a few minutes.
Great public park, great public library. Just be careful about traffic in parking lot which is too often completely full. The library facilities are excellent, and the park full of family activities.
This is perfect place to play with kids. They love this spot. You cant find other place like here around palo alto.
This is a great place for kids and adults. My kids learned to ride their bikes in the central round where you could also play soccer. The water feature was a favorite. The Magical playground which exists now is so popular with the kids.
Super fun for kids of all ages.
Magical tree playground is amazing - bring your cardboard to slide down the hills
Next to the library and lots of playground areas. You can easily spend hours here with your kids.
Huge park on the east party of Palo Alto. Impressive library a the lovely Magical Bridge makes this place a lovely spot to spend countless good times with your kids
Love this place. It is next to the library and the magical bridge playgrounds. The park is big, good for party and soccer. A lot of tennis courts are also available.
A very spacious green park right next to the Mitchell Public library. Has a few is on playgrounds along with the fabulous and inclusive Magical Bridge playground. Features a water splash area which is a great entertainment option for kids during the hot season.
Great place for kids to run around and interact with other kids!!
This is a good size park with multiple uses.Parking could be a problem. But it has tennis courts, soccer, baseball, pickleball, Tai Chi area, etc...couple of bathrooms...this place has good facilities. Good for kids!!
Lovely park with nearby schools library and Community Center. Theres a dog run here and several play structure areas as well as large lawn fields. There is an enclosed childrens sand play area for the very youngest. Its a great place to have picnics in family get-togethers
Wonderful park! The grandkids a lot if fun. Easy to get to and find parking too.
Great place to play Pickle Ball, or to take the kids to the huge playground.
A big good park with play area for kids, tennis courts, library, restaurant, rest rooms, picnic tables etc.
Nice park
Absolutely love this park especially the accessible and all abilities friendly magical bridge playground. I wish we lived closer to the park. We would have come every day. Being 6 miles away, we only come every other month. My nearly seven year old loves it and will ask to go out of the blue. The magical bridge playground has something for all ages - starting from 6 months to older kids - 10s. There are tennis courts. Tennis practice areas. Public restrooms. The library and cafe are great. There is a huge green grass field for all activities. As well as picnic tables. Two entrances with parking spots make coming here convenient.
Best place for family
I have not been here for many years and it changed a lot. I love it. The magic bridge and the kids playground. I wish I had small kids again to bring them here.
Lots of picnic tables
Beautiful all-inclusive park for kids. The park is fenced in with lots of different activity areas.
This is a great place for people young and old!
One of the SF Bay Areas finest parks.
Tennis courts are of a great quality, have lights and are free to play!
Great park brings back old memories of big slides and kids having fun
Mitchell Park attracts users of all ages and interests. Large grassy fields, lit tennis courts a small amphitheater for skateboarding/roller blading, and four separate playgrounds. There are picnic areas with grills and an enclosed dog park. Be sure to plan your trip if you are visiting, parking can be scarce. “MP” shares space with a library, middle school, and two elementary schools.
Nice, well maintained tennis courts and backboards. There are some large eucalyptus trees next to the courts so theres a chance you may need to sweep. Theres a huge push broom there to help with the job if needed.
This park provides fantastic spots for family photoshoots!
Spacious park with community events
Great park, lots of fields, dog park, over the top childrens area, tennis, pickle ball, handball courts and lots of picknick areas. Library, cafe and teen area too.
Great park with a lot of different structures for kids of all abilities to play on.
Great family picnic spot or getting the children out of the house. Fun for all ages
Fantastic space for dogs, with very friendly regulars.
The chili fest on the fourth was a good time. Rad park and super dog friendly.
Best grilled fish (sea bass) I ever had! Really nice location next to the beach!
Great place for picnics, parties, and using the park. On a hot day there is a water area for the kids.
My favorite park ever! Huge space to do whatever you want. Well maintained.
Mitchell Park is very nice in terms of lots of grass outdoor areas tennis courts and of course the magic playground and then theres the library as well although for the last 2 weeks in May 2019 theres been tree trimmers every single day so theres some kind of loud cutting ...also lawn mowers as well and then you have the leaf blowers so I wish they could do that all on one or two days and have a few silent days take a break from the cutting and blowing..
Great park with many different playground activities for the kids.
Tennis court, pickleball court, play structures for kids, restrooms, parking, paths for walking, nice trees, grassy lawns.
Beautifully kept neat, clean, and has a great spacious layout, lots of room for large groups, weddings, play areas, grassy areas, cemented, rec center, library, etc
Great park for exercise and sports
Super fun to play on! I loved the elephant statue. I highly recommend Mitchell park, and theres a library right next to it.
Awesome park, especially the magical bridge section.
The library is a great place for both adults and kids, with vast rooms, garangarant of space. Although it can get quite loud right after school (3:10-5), the larger area evens it out. Overall, great place!
Good park with Library, tennis courts, a cafe, children play area etc.
It was at great place to eat lunch then faith had some well deserved time to play after a 3 hour appointment for her grandma will be stopping by again when here for next appointment just great great great
