Quiet, peaceful trails along the bay. No breathtaking views, but a wonderfully accessible jaunt into nature. FYI it is adjacent to a small airport if plane flyovers bother (or attract) you.

Its been 13 years in bay area and have moved to different cities but this one place, we cant stop coming at least once a week. The calmness of nature is experienced here in the midst of busy, bustling cities.

During this time.of social distancing this is a very quiet and peaceful site to visit. Normally parking is not an issue but the streets or closed so you might have to do a bit of walking. . . Little more exercise. Theyre trails and benches for just taking it all in or letting your brain rest.

If you’re interested the wildlife, this place is the one. You can take a walk or run, bike or just for a walk. It feel relaxing. And most excitingly is to watch “bird shows”. Incredible!!! But you should get there after 6pm by their dinner time to see the party . Enjoy !

This is a great location for a flat easy walk surrounded by nature. Its always fun to come and see what birds are around and this changes with the tide and weather. This is in the flight path and rather close proximity to the Palo Alto airport but that doesnt bother me at all.

Have you left the Bay Area and are considering moving back? Take a stroll through this area. We need to encourage more nature preserves like Baylands. It’s a gorgeous reserve that is very convenient to Palo Alto. The trails are well maintained and would be great for a lunch time stroll, morning run, or mid day cycle.

A great place to watch birds and enjoy the nature. There is also a Duck pond, that just has...well, ducks. Lots of it!! There is also a visitor center where you can see microscopic organisms, learn more on bird migration and natural habitats of several types of fish and aquatic animals.Overall, a really nice place for people who are into nature photography (mostly birds). Did I mention, it is completely free as well!

What a lovely place, and so conveniently located. This nature preserve is just off 101 at the Palo Alto/Mountain View border. Once you find the trail, its immensely peaceful to traverse. There are offshoots if you dont want to go all the way around. What I loved so much was just how serene it was and how close to water and vegetation it was... even though its only a few minutes from my office. Highly recommend for those in the area for an easy stroll.

A gem in the Center of Silicon Valley. Nature rules just a two minute drive off of the busy 101 freeway. In the middle of rush hour you can come here and be in peace and quiet with ducks and birds and egrets and the occasional private plane landing. In one direction you see the Santa Cruz mountains and in the other you see the San Francisco Bay and the East Bay mountains. I like to sit in my quiet beautiful place between the marshy pickleweed and the bird filled bushes and just watch nature.

Restored wetlands, wider tidal basins, creek deltas, flood catchments, pedestrian bridges accessing neighborhoods, and a smaller eco municipal golf course makes the Baylands excellent for hiking and running and biking (and adjacent golf) . Many paths paved. Wetland restorations appear to have made wildlife more numerous. Good for all ages and accessibility, including duck pond and interpretive center for kids and all.

A great place to escape the noise and bustle of Silicon Valley. Walk from the duck pond to the jetty at the end of the trail - up and back will take you about 20 minutes. There are picnic tables throughout, lots of wildlife and greenery. Ample free parking. You can also watch little propeller planes landing at the local airport next door. A nice place to relax for an hour or two.

Great park to hike! This is a pet-friendly park that we always enjoy. They have water fountains and a water bowl for your furry companion.Dogs are allowed on leash and humans are expected to clean after them. We found some dog poop bags around the park, please be respectful of others and dispose your poop bags properly. After all, the park provides a good number of trash bins.Parking can be tight so come early.Beware of foxtails during late spring and summer.
