Amazing place to take visitors or just take walk when you need to get out. Great for families! There is a small airport adjacent to the area, and small planes often fly low overhead before landing. This definitely entertains the kids! It is also a very dog friendly place. Light gravel/dirt trails are perfect for bike rides as well. The park connects to shoreline if you ride/walk far enough. Never gets old!
Beautiful place to be for a walk watching sunset on Santa Cruz mountains. Awesome view of the Bay is a plus.Bio diversity includes Bat Rays in the muddy bay trails
The trails are nice and well maintained, but the park is generally a bit boring with minimal shade. It does have some nice views of the Bay from its slightly elevated area.
Cant believe this is made up on sanitary landfill territory. Great spot for jocking, walking, and bird watching. The space is clean and well-maintained with public bathroom and free parking space. We saw many types of birds here and loving the experiences.I think it was a very good place to come alone, enjoy the experience, the art, and reflect them back to yourself.
A decent park with wide flat and slightly sloping gravel trails. There is an odd pungent odor upon my arrival but gradually decreased as I walked further from the parking area. I believe this park is simply a covered landfill with trails overtop so not the nicest but still okay. Scenery is nice but overall the park could be improved with more native plants and trees.
Really great place for a nice long serene walk. Trails are mostly easy. Nice vistas and wild life. Lots of pelicans and other interesting birds. Would definitely recommend it for bird watchers. There are benches throughout the trails and you get really nice and peaceful views while sitting. Parking can be a little tricky however not very crowded during late afternoon. All in all a great park for long Sunday afternoon walks!
Nice park! Theres an easy loop that runs along side/bottom of the hill all the way around with options to veer up onto the hill for a nice view of the south Bay, Google, NASA etc. The trail that runs closer to the water is also real neat, just a expect the wind.
Such a beautiful place to witness a wonderfully restore wetland area on the south peninsula shoreline. Take your binoculars and a camera if youre inclined to want a closer look at the amazing array of wildlife.
Very nice, well maintained park. Plenty of trails and various routes so you see something different each trip. It was created by covering up a large garbage dump this reclaiming the land.
Amazing place to Onewheel around. Trails and soft sand make it really cool!
Nice park very windy tho. Limited parking
A park with great Bay view. It is a Heaven of birds
Nice path and great spots for bird watching.
Sunset is so peaceful and serene but be sure to bring mosquitoe repellant they are in full force.
Awesome to see the wild nature within Bay area
Great, easy 3 mile walk to Mountain Views Shoreline Park.
Not the biggest hiking area, but fairly pleasant. Lots of birds around, and a good place to take the dog for a walk. Can get chilly at times
Wonderful area for a nature hike. The baylands are amazing. There are restrooms and a water fountain.
I love coming over here, its always a pleasant time whether its taking a walk, walking the planes land and takeoff, or even going for a run. This is the perfect place other than the hills that you can get away and witness nice scenery. If youre looking to get away to be alone with your thoughts, or see nice views, then this is definitely a place to check out.
Nice spot for walking and biking. Lots of birds, nice views on the bay.
Beautiful park with long trails for biking, walking or running.
Headed out here for a run, and its great for that! Mostly flat. In hotter months, go early because there is no shade. Sunscreen and a hat required when the sun is high. Beautiful views to distract you. Easy to get decent mileage. I did an out and back run. Pleasant even in the heat!
Great park for walking your pets!
Great trails. Some jackrabbits around, and snails! Nice views of surrounding cities. They have a barebones bathroom and water fountain area as well.
Nice views. Small parking lot
Nice place to relax and see nature
Nice scenery, many birds. Good walking area
Beautiful location for bird watching, walking or running. Rare hills, albeit small, along the Bay of San Francisco.Easy access, easy parking.
Trailhead to the baylands. As of 7/10 no water fountain. Only bathrooms. You can get drinking water from the sinks in the bathroom though.
Good hill in the middle of a 5 mille strech
Great 5km there every Saturday morning at 8am with Park Run USA
Nice place to take a walk.
There’s a good bowl at the bathroom- and a water bottle filler there too - good place to start flat hike out to the bay - parking lot fills up on weekends
Beautiful park with access to the bay trail and some nearby bird museum. Almost no parking when the joggers are out.
Awesome 5 mile running loop. Beautiful wetland preserve. Awesome birding. Huge flocks of pelicans and other shore birds.
Beautiful place and great for walking or running.
Conveniently-located flat jogging trails with good bay views and birdwatching. No shade. The bay can be a bit stinky at the wrong time of year. Same with gnats.
Great parkrun, not to busy, loads of birds
Nice place for a casual walk.
Not too smoky 9/21 am.
Nature open air marshland birds
Great trail to hike and bike. Good for bird watching too
Theres a huge variety of animals and plants at this gorgeous park. I love the well-maintained paths and expansive views of the bay. Theres bathrooms, a recycling facility near the bathrooms, and informational placards to boot. This park is perfect to walk around with your pooch or a loved one.
A very well set up park with multiple paths to walk. Was lucky to find a couple of Burrowing owls on an earlier visit.
Great place for a morning run
Check out my video about Byxbee Park on YouTube that’s on my channel which is Oceanic Adventures. I gave it a 4/5 because the park was nice but had major environmental problems. There was trash I saw in the mud and there are many invasive species killing off all our native ones.
The Adobe Creek Loop Trail is a great ~5 mile training loop.
Walked the perimeter late in the day, Steady stream of small planes passing overhead to land at Palo Alto Airport but few birds at this time.
Great running trail. Picturesque views. Refreshing strolls.
Delightful area for walking, running, cycling... or sitting on a bench and contemplating the beauty of our Bay Lands!
Beautiful park to walk and for dogs
Clean good fishing great views some people acknowledge you and others just stick theyre noses too high for a GM or hello idk wats wrong with human kindness anymore
Beautiful salt marsh. Part of it smells like sewage.
Love the trails that crisscross the park and also along the water.
After seeing so many great reviews, I decided to walk there with my son today. Definitely not a great place to go in the summer at 89 Fahrenheit. Everything is dried up. We only saw one person there, and he was complaining about all the dirt his bike carried all the way in the park and some kind of unpleasant smell. LOL I would still give it a four star, since it seems to be a good place to visit in the winter with all the posted beautiful pictures.
Great place to enjoy the peaceful outdoors and nature. The good thing is, dogs are also allowed!
Great place to go walking, running, biking or just to look at ducks. Many different trails so you can vary your tour each time. Parking not a problem usually. Very scenic, too.
Did the parkrun here, fantastic! Free, 5km walk or run every Saturday at 8 am.
A very nice area for a walk bike or run
By the bay lots of birds
Nice place for a walk. Bring binoculars to watch the birds.
Walk around and watch the airplanes
This is one of my favorite places to go for a long walk. You can walk from Byxbee to Shoreline and almost feel like you arent on the Peninsula. Way less crowded than walking the Dish. Tons of waterfowl -- Ive seen flocks of pelicans almost doing synchronized ballet moves, lots of snowy egrets and various duck-type birds. Very peaceful and great views of water and sky.The downsides: this is not a place to walk when its hot. There is ZERO shade. Great on an overcast day, though. Trails are all unpaved, which I like, but its good to be aware of, especially if its been rainy, because there will be mud. The baylands can get stinky at various times of year -- its not crossing the Dumbarton bad, but its not pleasant either. About 2/3 of the way from Byxbee toward Shoreline there are often some pretty big clouds of gnats for a while. Hit the bathroom at the beginning, since there isnt another one till you get to Bayshore.
Small hills
Really good little park!
Great for walkers/hikers, runners, bikers, etc! Trails are nice and well-kept. Bathrooms are clean. It gets hot on sunny days so wear a hat!
Great spot for bird watching or just walking on the dirt levees out into the bay. Can be windy and dusty in the evening, though. There is a parking lot and public restroom. Easy to bike here from the residential part of Palo Alto.
Beautiful and peaceful.
This park is not good for wheelchairs because all the trails are gravel and therefore not at all accessable.
Beautiful area
Peaceful. Beautiful. Calm.
Easy walk with others--good for meditations
Perfect for watching birds and planes. Sun and wind make this place more pleasant!
Great place to run on non-paved surface.
Beautiful and unique views of the Bay Area, with lots of great trials for walking, biking, and roller blading. Your 4-legged furry friend is welcome, on leash.
Good for long walk.
If you want to spend a leisurely evening strolling along and looking up to see small planes land at the nearby Palo Alto airport, this is the place to be...
This is my secret park...so nobody go!
Open place to meander along the dirt trails. Wont have the place to yourself in the weekend, but most people are nice and enjoying the surroundings without being obnoxious.
Big open space.... keep your dog leased... nice scenery
Nice park for a hike, stroll, jogging, etc. You can watch a lot birds there ( eagle, pelican ...) and a lot of small air plains
Very nice Baylands park. It is hard to find though. Google Maps has it marked wrong. When you come to the T on Embarcadero Road turn right. You will soon see a sign for Byxbee park. There is a small parking lot and bathrooms. There is another smaller parking lot before the first one mentioned.
Great for running, hiking, walking, kid friendly, observing wild life, dog friendly and taking photographs.
The parks is great to watch Birds and to take your dogs on walk on leash.
What a great place to watch birds!
Nice views and nice colors close to sunset.
I love coming here. So relaxing!
Nice place to run, bike, watch birds and walk dogs (on leash only)
Love running here in the morning! Gorgeous views, beautiful birds
Nice place to walk n chill
Nice park for morning jogging
Great place for a hike and watch the birds.
Great place to take photos during golden hour. Parking lot is a bit crowded on the weekends though.
Love the trail and views
