A place to view and participate in art making. Its a lovely building right next to the riconada library. It has both inside and outside exhibits. Inside are adult and child studios where people can go to make different forms of art. I saw people painting and making pottery. The children’s exhibits are really cool. Outside are different pieces, many from an artist who used trees as his main material. Its really something.
Palo Alto Art Center is where art thrives. There are countless opportunities to participate in workshops, galleries, and other events. I particularly enjoy their figure drawing sessions on Tuesday evenings. Sessions and workshops are very organized and prices are very reasonable ($8 for 3 hours of figure drawings).
Great place. Sometimes they have the glass pumpkins and how they blow it, of course you can buy them. They do other events and exhibitions and the courses are great. My kids have all done some kind of art there...sketching, pottery and toddler classes. There are adult classes and it all looks really well done.
Love this place. Makes art incredibly accessible. The gallery is small, so easy to take in for an afternoon outing. Lots of parking. Really well-curated and thoughtful exhibits. Ive been here with my sons elementary school class (k and 1st grade) for the last two years, and the kids always love it as well as the adults. A really shining spot for engaged, public art. Highly recommend. And for families, theres a library across the driveway, and a fabulous park (Rinconada) just across the street.
This is a smaller art museum so it allows them to have very unique exhibits. They offer art and pottery classes and workshops for children through adults.
This group is very good with children, I love how they allowed the children to express themselves during the tour.
Amazing space for art and community events. Always a fun time and the staff are extremely kind.
Always attend the Palo Alto Clay & Glass show! Juried artists, so superb pieces, and always end up buying a unique item or gift. Safly, my favorite porcelain potter, Kimi Masui from the Berkeley Potters Guild was not in attendance this year d/t a hand injury, but her equally talented colleague Itsuko Zenitani was there (we have several of her pieces), so picked up this lovely bowl as a gift for my brother. Also picked up two more Spengler coffee mugs....Great art glass, ceramics, and jewelry. This annual show is not to be missed!
I took the graphic novel evening class here and enjoyed it a lot. The center has a great vibe with classes and high quality exhibits. Friday night at the at center is also a lot of fun.
First time here. Stuff are really friendly. The event is well organized. Lot of program and classes offer. Next to library. a great place to bring kids to learn art and have fun at the same time.
Always something going on there that is worth checking out.
Its a good place to go with a class of younger kids. The docents are amazing, the guided tour is not too long, and the kids love to do the Art Project at the end.
Excellent teaching, beautiful facility and fantastic location with free parking across the street. If you want to learn how to create your own art, take classes there! You also meet amazing people.
Great event! Nice locations with shaded areas (helpful with the hot day). Quality artisans.
Amazing annual art clay and glass festivals. Lots of unique artisans
Went to a fantastic art show of Palo Alto and EPA school district end of year display. I was absolutely amazed at some of the work done by these you people. There are about 6 sculptures that appear to be bronze at first look, but are actually wood, paper machee and paint. They are incredible and are done by 7 the and 8 the graders!!There are some very gifted artists in this school district.Whoever set up the show did a wonderful job.Go see the show before it ends 5/20. Its really worth it.
Really cool place! Outside art pieces, peaceful and comtemplative, beautiful grounds. Love that inside there is a kiosk where you can choose an idea card and fill it out as you go through the exhibit, made an awesome souvenior of our visit.
One of best shows 4 ceramic and glass. Beautiful stuff.
My 4 year old daughter just took a class and we love it!! Our teachers a very professional about art and also kids. Their programs are well-thought out and can match kids development, but also teachers let kids get a chance to use variety of art materials.
Love the art center, lots of fun art activities todo
Hosts many fun local community events. Also a library.Palo Alto Art Center is multi-purpose center for various art-related activities in the city of Palo Alto, California. The Palo Alto Art Center Foundation is the nonprofit that supports the Palo Alto Art Center. The Palo Alto Art Center when it was founded in 1971, was named the Palo Alto Community Cultural Center. Really beautiful art all around
If you are into glass and Ceramics then this is the place to go. We had a very wonderful experience. All the vendors were amazing. The art was magical. We were enthralled. Everyone was excited to tell us about what they were doing, how they did it, their methods, their challenges. If you are an art lover this is some place you should visit during their annual Ceramics and glass show. Wonderful!

Magical spot. Especially for kids

There was a community comment meeting here. I have also visited as a chaperone for my daughters class. It is a nice place. I have not gone here on my own for the art itself.

Ridiculously amazing resource for families.
Seems like a nice space to learn art.
Lovely museum but the real star is all the children’s art work. I highly recommend you go to an open house- they have fun activities and great stuff to check out.
