EXTREMELY fun!! We did the lost in time room there was 3 of us and able to savy. they were very helpful from before we went In the room to the very end. Really fun and the clues were helpful and had a twist to them will definitely be going back to this place for sure!

So much fun! That hour flew by but was so fun and kept us engaged in the game the whole time. Will definitely do this again!

First time at an escape room so I didnt know what to expect. The customer service was excellent, even with me having to make sure I booked the correct room for a beginner. I definitely will come back in the future. Faith was a good helper. Without her I would of stayed locked in the room for the entire hour without getting one clue. Keep up the great work !

First time visiting was Sunday, 9/6. Definitely worth coming back! During COVID the area is clean and there is enough room for social distancing in the waiting. They do ask to wear a mask in the waiting room but once you are in escape room with your party you can remove the mask if you like. The outside looks sketchy because there is a pawnshop on the first level but mastermind is downstairs. Carter was the employee that took us to our escape room, they are super helpful and friendly. Gave detailed instructions and demonstration of how to use the iPad and locks and a couple of other things. You can also take a picture at the end against the scenery picture of downtown KC with the option of taking off your mask. Great option to explore with family/friends given the current time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Dont let the outside fool you; this place is well worth it!From the introduction from the staff to the conclusion of the game, we were engaged. There was not a dull moment! Although we ran out of time, I was not disappointed because I had a great time, and it exceeded my expectations with captivating scenery and unexpected twists and turns! Mastermind Escape Games will be my go-to for my next escape room excursion!!!

We had a wonderful time in the Outbreak room celebrating my daughters 16th birthday today!! Even though we didnt escape it was so much fun trying to put all the clues together...it was challenging, especially since no one in our group had ever done an escape room before. We definitely want to come again.

Went there with some girlfriends and had a blast. The staff was really nice and helpful. Definitely going back to try the other escape games.

I was with a group with my job for an outing. We were running late (oops) but Carlos the manager was accommodating and willing to let us slide. He was very polite and I must say quite funny. Our Game Master Faith was super sweet and nice! They both made the experience so much better and we all had a blast! Thanks so much!!!!!

Great rooms and excellent staff. They definitely get you into the spirit of the theme. Make sure you remember that its a teamwork exercise. We had a lot of fun and came within a minute of escaping. We will definitely come back to do the other rooms.

What a great time! I went with a group of 10 and had a ton of fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something to do with their friends and family. Solving puzzles results in cheers of excitement.

This was our first time doing an escape room and Carlos did an amazing job of explaining everything to us, giving us a few tips before we started. Bethany was our Game Master and she was AWESOME!! She was “watching” us the whole time, which also added to the suspense, and every so often would make an “announcement” to us in the lab. We had such a great time on the first one, we immediately did another one!! We highly recommend this as fun for the whole family. Thank you again Bethany for the AWESOME time!!

Escape room pros here, this is by far the worst escape room experience weve ever had. They were not monitoring on the cameras. Clues do not connect or make sense. Even as we were close to the end we spent 20 minutes doing something correctly that just wasnt working. When explaining this to the attendant who came to our room after time expired, she admitted they werent monitoring. There was no apology offered and they admitted that they had their hands too full.Business advice here, if youre going to charge like a premium experience, you should probably ensure your guests are getting everything they pay for (including an attendant monitoring on camera for when things just are not working, which is something they assure the customers theyre doing).

Really well done! A good mix of simple quick puzzles then harder, more involved puzzles. Didnt make it out of the bank robbery room but we got close! Overall a really good time

Awesome escape room. They did a great job of theming and the clues made sense. They offer a tablet for clues and the staff was friendly and helpful. Watch for the YouTube video to drop soon... But without any secrets or footage from the rooms.

We just did their Bank Heist room. Great flow, good puzzles, unique mechanisms, and Jaden does a terrific job in his introduction.Update:We got to go back again! We were lucky enough to get spots at their recent lock-in, and it could not have been a more incredible experience. Not only did we get to do two games in one night, but we also got to interact with other escape room enthusiasts. The games here are unique, engaging, and very well thought out. The game masters, Carter and Sean, were not only knowledgeable, but embraced their characters to bring the games to life. The manager, Carlos, took great care to ensure the night was fun, stimulating, and filled with events to keep the night rolling. And a special BIG thank you to Morgan, who convinced us to attend the event in the first place. We hadnt fully decided if we were going to attend, but Morgan made it sound like a night not to be missed, and he was absolutely right. Thanks again to the entire team and were looking forward to more of your rooms!

This place was amazing, we made it out!!!! They have 4 different rooms and we choose the easy one. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try an escape room, whether its your first time or are an experienced escaper. Our guide person, Bethany was super friendly!!

We had a great time at Mastermind escape games. They are well organized and set up an awesome challenge!

Different game play than other escape rooms weve done. I think we picked moderate difficulty and we got out of there pretty quickly. We will come back for a harder room. The lobby was big with fun puzzles while you wait.

Had a great time. I went some friends and our kids and really wasnt interested in the whole escape room concept but I ended up having a really good time. The whole experience was really well thought out and our game master Faith was great also.

Fun and interesting place for a weekend hangout. We went to the Outbreak theme and it was amazing. Even though we lost the challenge but it was a fun one hour, thoroughly enjoyed it. The only suggestion I have is a hoarding or something that will help in identifying this place more easily. Mouth word is great but still felt like some kind of hoardings are required.

Awesome experience! Will go again. Note: Located in basement of the We Buy Gold store (outside entrance). Just a caution if someone has issues with stairs. Be sure to get there EARLY so your team can practice on the clues & lock wall to get into the game!

Where do I start? The manager was amazing. Has the right amount of energy to get you excited. The staff are immersed into their jobs. Very friendly. We have now completed 7 escape rooms, (3 at Mastermind) and by far our favorite rooms were at Mastermind.

We chose the Lost in Time escape, because we had our 8 year old with us and it was suppose to be the easiest. It was challenging, and we did not succeed. We used all of our hints and the time ran out. At the end we only had a couple steps left, most of the clues to find were good but a couple we didnt feel like we would have ever figured it out without the hints. Overall good experience.

We had a blast, despite not completing the task in time. We were sssoooo close though! Whoever came up with the OUTBREAK escape room was a genius!!

My family and I did the lost in time one and it was a lot of fun, even though we didnt make it out. You definitely need to work as a team and try your best to not strangle each other, lol. Also, look around at everything! I would definitely come back. The staff is amazing and helps out a lot. 10/10 recommend.

This place was AMAZING. We had a group of 8 from ages 10-45 and we all had a blast. The level of thought that goes into the clues and locks is second to none. What made it even better was that the staff really got into it and set the scene before locking you in the room.We can’t wait to go back and try one of the other rooms. (We did Lost in Time)Definitely go check this out!!

We love masterminds. Weve done all of their rooms and a couple we did twice. Workers are friendly. Puzzles are challenging. We always have a good time.

Pretty fun time. Its a lot nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside. It is a little pricey but great for a group of about 10 people! The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Took our staff to Mastermind. We all had a great experience. The Mastermind staff was well trained and very accommodating to our group of 20! We split into two rooms. Both groups broke out. I’d say these rooms are a little easier to solve than KC Breakout. The price is cheaper as well, but fun nonetheless!

The Bank Heist is honestly fantastic. Highly recommend

Friendly staff, decent prices, and well put together rooms.Note: If its your first time coming here it may be a little hard to find. It is located in the basement of the building that says We Buy Gold and is on the north side of 151st just to the east of 69 highway.My friends had been here twice before and really liked them so I went with them this time. I look forward to coming back and doing the last room they havent done yet and even bringing some other friends or family to do the rooms they have already completed.

The room was great, and staff was nice. The only thing Id suggest is not mapping the facility so hot. It was very warm in the room and lobby.

Very nice new escape room in Overland Park! This place has the FEEL of a true escape room. You enter on the first floor and take the stairs down to the basement. Lobby/waiting area is better than the other escape rooms Ive been too. They get that this is a game and there are lots of puzzles and fun things to do while you wait for your group. We did the outbreak room and our whole group was blown away by the quality of the room. Outbreak had the coolest effect Ive seen in an escape room to date....love to tell you about it but itd give away a key clue. Everything worked well and had some really cool toys/gadgets used to solve the puzzles. We did escape but not without a lot of teamwork. Staff was very friendly and the price was very good for the quality of the escape room and thoughtfulness of the puzzles. We will be back for more!

Took my son & his friend & there was supposed to be a party of 5 with them. The party of 5 were late so they got moved back 2 hours. That left my son & his friend to do this complicated game all by themselves, unless I wanted to wait 2 hours. I drove all the way there from Blue Springs, so of course I dont want to wait 2 hours. My son & his friend said it was ok, but they had no idea what they were doing & couldnt figure anything out. I basically wasted $50 on the game & $20 in gas for nothing. There were tons of people in the lobby yet my son & his friend had to do it alone. Deeply disappointed. This is a group game. Not 2 people age 14. They barely even made it to the 2nd room. Someone should make this right & invite my son & his friend back, only with an actual team. My son makes straight As & is a math expert, but they still couldnt do it alone. So make sure you either schedule enough people yourself to make up at least a team of 5 or be prepared to stay & wait 2 hours for the next groups to come in. Because you dont want to do what I did & take their advice. The lady working told me she has seen 2 people get out of the room by themselves before. What? 1 time out of hundreds?

My boyfriend and I went earlier today. We both had a lot of fun.very friendly staff, fun activists, and stuff to do if you have to wait. We were able to get in almost an hour early to. The room was open for 10 and it only ended up being us 2. Excited to do it agin.

We had a work holiday party here and everything was perfect. We had very little wait, the orders were correct, and they kept the chips and salsa coming! Since we had a group of 11 ppl they gave us our own room. I got a tasty mango margarita and a sample platter! They allowed us to open our gifts and we had a great time!

This was our first escape room, had a lot more fun than we thought we would. Cant wait to do it again

Man this place was crazy once you really start to put the pieces together as u progress but for me and my family when were over thinking at the beginning but amazing experience... we will be back count on that

Wow! This was my first experience doing an escape room. It was really fun inviting a team that I thought could work together and then watching it play out. The puzzles were challenging and creative! We approached the problems in different ways, which was interesting. I cant wait to do it again!So glad to have this hands on mind game in our area.

Weve completed 2 rooms in this old bank and they were a blast each time. The puzzles were challenging, but solvable. Highly recommend!

Very entertaining! The riddles and puzzles you have to figure out are challenging, yet not impossible. Will have to go again sometime soon.

We were wary learning that the space was actually in the basement of a We Buy Gold business, but it blew us away! The rooms were thick with challenging, creative puzzles, the staff did a fantastic job, and the rooms themselves looked great! Would recommend the Sorcerers Secret to anyone looking for a good time.

Weve done all 4 rooms. Escaped 2. The employees are amazing, Heather and Brian are super nice and excited to be there. Bank Heist was intense and we loved every minute of it. I suggest doing the other 3 rooms first before Bank Heist in order to get familiar with the games. Were sad that we did all of them and cant do them again :( I recommend this to everyone!
