Its pretty big and beautiful. Tucked in a residential area thats very nice. The Fishing is really great and they have a really nice playground along with exercise equipment along the walking trail. Parents, glance around and throw away anything that might have been left behind by inconsiderate visitors but it really is clean and beautiful place to relax.Highly recommend.

The facilities are great! Everything is super well maintained. The walking/bike trail is beautifully paved. There are places where you can stop and rest or just enjoy the surroundings. There are fishing piers around the lake where you can stop and rest out on the lake or where you can fish. You can also just sit in a shelter or a bench and watch the Geese or the Humming Birds. I like it.

Park is awesome, the kids love it. Trail encircling park is enjoyable, fishing is fishing (some days are good, some are meh) pretty well maintained. My biggest issue as mostly a fishing purpose visitor, is there is so much grass/mats/lake weeds, its frustrating.

Overall the place is nice. There is a very beautiful small lake, playground, tables, benches, restrooms and very decent Trail for walking or running. The 5 stars is for the place itself,but it needs some attention like cleaning and maintenance.Parking is available too.

This is a nice place to get away and have a piece of mind. There is also a small variety of exercise equipment, and of course you can fish there also!I really like going there and relaxing.....the only thing that sucks is that its REALLY dark at night and it closes at 10:00 p.m. every night.....other than those 2 things, its very a very cool place!

Small park, kid friendly, with a sidewalk around the pond. 3 1/2 stars for the memories. Ice skating on it at 20 yrs old and catching a few fish. Little place but big smiles each visit.

I have been coming to this park for years! First as a child, then bringing my children and now my grandchildren. We love the nature here.

It got some nice deck and views and ofcourse fishes in pond.You can come here for biking, fishing and a park near by for kids.Lots of play area for KidsNice and clean place with a trail around it.You chave bathroom here.Some benches on the park to relax.Night time you will get a chance to see Owl and bats...

Just didn’t give full star because this is a little bit stinky not well cleaned. Otherwise this is a picturesque little lake park with some gym instruments. Really enjoyed time out there.

Tucked away has a bike/walk trail 1/2 mile goes around a fish stocked pond thats shady with exercise equipment interpersered along the trail. There is a railed fishing dock with bathrooms.

Everything was beautifl here today! There were people walking the trail around the park lake where there are a few workout stations, nice picnic areas, and docks for fishing. The playground has really soft artificial grass and there are a couple of basketball courts if you like to hoop. The bathrooms do need some TLC or a womans touch. In the winter, if we have a good freeze,this is the place for outdoor skating under the stars! Parks and Rec. will post a sign when it is good to go!

A very fun park for hide and seek! You can also use the track for exercise. You can cut across to get closer to Metcalf. The playground area is small, but does have a nice little jungle gym maze for younger ones.

Nice park. Its so nice to walk the trail around the lake and see the ducks, geese and dads fishing with their kids. Its especially fun this time of year to see the baby ducks and geese. This park seems to get a lot of use but does have a lot to offer.

Good place to walk where you feel safe. There is usually people here but doesnt get too crowded. They have a playground, walking trail with some exercise equipment (some not much), a basketball court and fishing docks. The geese do love this park though so there is a ton of poop on the trails.

South Lake Park is a gem of a park in Johnson County! It was recently updated and is in great condition! My only complaint is that the bathrooms are a little yucky and there is no soap. :( They should take a page out of Antioch Parks book in the bathroom department. Their bathrooms are stellar!Overall, its a fabulous park and I always enjoy visiting there!

I love this little park! Just big enough to walk around the pond and see all the birds, but small enough to take multiple laps. We saw and heard some hawks tonight in the treetops!

My wife and I went out and grilled and had a great experience. Very family friendly area.

We come to this park quite frequently. its fun for the kids to play on the equipment, fun to grill out and very peaceful and calming to go fishing or just walk around the track. a beautiful little park, family friendly.

Lived across the street for 6 years. Fantastic little park, walking and biking trail is .5 miles and is redone. The playground equipment was recently redone! They have great docks, brand new for fishing in the lake and also have a very fun children’s fishing Tournament each summer. Great sprawling shaded areas for picnics, playing catch or just laying around on a blanket!

This is a great little fishing lake with a healthy little ecosystem. They stock bass and crappie. Theres also a lovely hiking trail and a playground for the kids!

Close to everything nice small area for the family. You got fishing, track, grills, shade, great people enjoying the nice days. One small problem no drinking allowed.

Very quiet little park with a nice fishing pond. The paved walking area is .42 miles long and circles the pond. The playground is nice with multiple climbing based pieces. There are two fishing docks that are spacious and fully railed in. We had a great day here just lounging and letting the kiddo play. It wasnt crowded at all but she had a few other kids to play with. Definitely coming back.

Love this park! We take our daughter here frequently as we live close by. The new exercise equipment theyve put in is awesome! The park is always clean and the playground is perfect for kids! The ducks and geese that frequent the lake are always a big hit as well!

My grandma used to bring me to this park as a child. Its serene, quaint and well take care of. Nice place for a walk w the kids or doggo.

This is a really nice park. It has what is a huge pond or tiny lake. People fish here, and there are ducks and geese everywhere. There are lots of trees, including mulberry, grassy areas, areas to grill, and nice walking trails. They also have a nice little play park for little kids. This is one of our favorite parks.

Fishing and walking, adults with dogs and kids, some guys playing basketball. Everyone getting along well. Ducks not afraid of people. Asphalt path is 0.42 mile.

I love this park! My mom and stepdad moved near here over 20 years ago. So many great memories of this wonderful park. A great family park and somewhere to enjoy nature, as well, with all the tall trees and water fowl.

This is a cherished spot for activities of all kinds, fishing, playground and a bike path. Enjoy the view and your outdoor activity but do not get too close to the geese!

Great walking trail. But I am a fisherman and this place is great for family’s or just learning how to fish. In 2 hours I got 9 catfish biggest being 12 lbs. and 4 bass biggest one 17in. There are Air Raiders all over the pond for strong healthier fish.

Very small area for children to play. Needs to expand given the heavy use. The grass and plantings around the lake need care. Many large, older trees damaged and taken down. Nice half courts. Nice paved path around lake but lots of foot traffic so its hard for young kids to skate or ride bikes. The dam end of the lake could definitely be made more attractive. It has a safe neighborhood feel.

Great park with a lot of features. This is a great place to fish, as there are two fishing docks. The park has a .42 mile walking trail and there is exercise equipment placed at different intervals around the lake. There is an awesome playground for the kids, so much to do it will keep them occupied for hours. Many picnic tables are spread throughout the park, many of which are underneath awnings for shade and protection from the weather. Bar-b-que grills are also numerous around the park for those who like to cook. There is also lots of open space for running around in or walking your dog.

Love this park! Very diverse group of people and beautiful geese with their goslings in tow make my day every time I go! Lots of birds, and the trees are absolutely beautiful too. Just a great family place!
