My kids and I have been going to Deanna Rose for over 20 years. We have seen a lot of changes over those years but one thing has remained the same...we love this place!! Petting and feeding the goats is always a good time, the big slide is tons of fun, the little log cabin is awesome, and the horse rides and horse drawn carriage rides are amazing. And we love to rest on the swinging benches.
For $3 entrance, you and your family can spend the whole day there. Pack a picnic and enjoy the nature. They have from goats, chickens to bison. Their fairies garden was really enchanted! The place was kept clean and the workers were very helpful. Theres other things to do like riding the pony and mining for extra charge.
Great great great place. Cant recommend enough. Its like a tamer zoo with less walking required. Lots of playgrounds and places to sit. Beautiful spots, great with or without kids.
This is our first visit to the farm and we had a great time! Our kids had an opportunity to see things that we do not normally see in California. My kids loved to ride the horse and the bamboo fishing rods. Also feeding the animals was a great experience. To keep things short, the place was farm clean, friendly staff and most of all inviting. Loved it!
Deanna Rose Farmstead is a fun place for the whole family. There are several playground areas, including one or two for toddlers. There is a mining exhibit, a Kanza Indian tribe campsite, lots of farm animals to see and 6-8 animal pens housing other birds/mammals native to Kansas.Kids can ride ponies, feed goats and ducks, and go fishing - for a little bit of $. You can watch a staff member milk a cow 2x/day. Its a live and interactive presentation. There are also various gardens and waking paths to enjoy.I recommend the family pass if you plan to visit more than a few times, or if you just want to support the Farmstead! There are plenty of places to buy food and drink, or you pack a lunch to enjoy in the picnic area outside of the park. There are also several clean restrooms throughout the park, along with hand-washing stations for if you feed/pet the attractions.
Awesome experience! I took my friend Barbara here and it was the best! A goat did poop on my new ASICS, but it was okay! Thanks Deanna!
Fun place to spend the day for kids and little ones. Play areas plus animals to see and even pet in some areas. The goats were a huge hit with my 3 year old! The ice cream is fairly inexpensive with good sized portions. Theres enough to do for 2-4 hours if you spend time at each location.
Love this farm! Disappointed that the google page didn’t disclose that it will not be open in 2020. When I saw “open now” I assumed that it would be... you know.... open now. We drove here only for it to be closed.
This placeis great for a day trip with the family just to get away from all the hustle and bustle of normal life, the kids get to feed and pet animals, and all souvenirs and meal items are very reasonable compared to most places. I highly recommend checking it out!
So much to see and do! There is something for everyone to enjoy! Fun for all ages with large paths for easy access around the whole farmstead. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, our favorites were the blacksmith, general store clerk, and banker, all took time to answer our questions and tell us about life in the 1800s!
Decent parking. Fairly busy during fall for pumpkin hallow and halloween. Its $3 to enter and $8 for pumpkin hallow. Pumpkin hallow includes a free small pumpkin, hay ride for each person. The mining exhibit and old time stores are nice for teaching kids hands on.
This is a perfect little adventure to take the kids on a nice day. It is super cheap. I spent a total of 20 bucks for the whole family. They have plenty of interactive activities for the children. (Mining, cow petting, bottle feeding baby goats, fishing, hay rides, and more) And as I said, it is very inexpensive. I highly recommend this place for a summer day.
Hopefully covid doesnt mess this up for long. Great place to take the kids.
My kids had a wonderful time here! Thats saying a lot when it can hold the attention of young children for 3-4 hours in the summer heat! The fishing was very fun and youre almost guaranteed a fish per every worm you receive. The pony rides are a little short for the money, but it is what it is.
I love bringing my son to here. It attractions are not that expensive, like fishing, feeding baby goats, and the hayride. We recently went for a school field trip and it was fun!!!
One amazing place to go as a family and let your children pets animals and interact with other children. also they provide little wagons in case you dont have something to push your child in and they have a little tricycle for kids as well also there is two areas that are playgrounds for children... also there is a vendor us food as well sold here just in case yall did not bring food for snacks..
We took our daughter to this place recently for the first time and I have to say it was absolutely wonderful! There is so much to see and do. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We went through the farm and paid the extra for Pumpkin Hollow. It was well worth the additional $8. They provide a hay ride out to a little play area and pumpkin patch where you get to pick from a nice selection of pumpkins. We had such a great time, our family is looking forward to many more visits in the future!
Such a neat place! Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area. My kids loved it and are still talking about it.
My Nieces 3rd birthday party was celebrated there today. It was fun. They have a petting zoo. A nature trail and a wagon trail ride by horses. There was like 215-20 people on a big wagon and two horses pull it. Kids and adults together. They close at 5pm on Sundays. Party was fun and the kids really enjoyed being out in the nature.
Wonderful park with cool stuff to do for young and old. Every once in a while they have free admission, then it gets extra crowded. Great place to expose kiddos to some animals and teach kindness.
What an incredible place to visit for the whole family!! Even though it was super hot today, there was a great breeze and lots of shade...not to mention all the air conditioned buildings with fun things to buy and explore!! Our 16 month old daughter had just as much fun as our 14 year old daughter!! Lots of animals-the baby goats were our favorites, but the chickens were fun too!! All of the workers were great too!! Only thing we wished was different was that our 16month old couldnt do the pony rides. They only allow 3-12 year olds. I still think we had more fun here though (spending less than $10 admission) than we did at the Zoo (spending almost $60 admission)!!! Definitely recommend!!!
Tons of great things for the family. Petting zoo areas and playgrounds everywhere. The hardest part was telling my daughter it was time to go. Tell the kids the animals are tired and it’s bed time (lol). The historical buildings and exhibits were great too. We’ll be back.
This place is amazing! My two year old absolutely loved this place and everything it had to offer. Very hands on and educational. Offers ways to interact with all of the animals. Even my 10 month old enjoyed seeing all of the animals and feeling the different furs. Added bonus, it is very affordable.
I love this place, I went there with husband and my 5 year old daughter, we have a wonderful experience, recommended to everyone
Childhood memories are made here. When I reflect on my mom taking me and my brother to this once small petting farm, I realize this is where my love of a hands on experience at every zoo Ive visited in my life sparks from. I was ecstatic, even on one of the hottest days of the summer, to revisit and share the experience with my daughter, niece, and nephew. Deanna Rose Childrens Farmstead has more than doubled in size since I was a child, and has more than quadrupled in charm. This is a nice local spot to bring children to learn how to milk a cow, feed the chickens, bottle feed a goat, and take a fun hay ride.
This place is amazing!!! Perfect for women and children, you are definitely safe here. Amazing for EVERY age! Animals, playgrounds, beautiful gardens. You can easily spend several hours here. Also good food options for babies, children and adults.
Wonderful place to come visit . What a gem in the city . So much to do and see for young and old alike.
So much fun, the baby goats are adorable, my 2 year old daughter loved it. I really had fun too. Great for children of all ages, lol.
Such a fun place for young kids and families! I took my 13 month daughter and she loved the playgrounds, the goats, the ducks, the big bench swings, and the many areas to run around. There are places to eat picnics, buy food, ice cream, and ride ponies and feed goats. What a gem of a place for the Kansas City Metro! Admission is very fair: only $2 per person above 2 years old. Thank you!
We love Deanna rose! It is a nominal fee to get in and provides hours of fun. The kids learn something every time we go, mostly about life in Kansas years ago. There are many different play areas which provide fun for all ages (however it would be nice to see more inclusive areas). There are a very good number of animals, and even petting areas. The kids love seeing all the animals and, of course, getting ice cream from the shop on the way out.
Have been going here for years! Kids love the animals and hands on involvement, as well as the playground equipment and ice cream shop. Parents love the prices and location, though it gets a bit crowded on weekends in the summer Horse drawn carriage, goat feeding by bottle or pellets, fishing pond, pony rides, gem mining, watch a cow be milked, learn about Native American culture and early settler school ways, walk through the butterfly pavilion and see a large variety of animals from one end of the farm to the other! Dont miss the pumpkin patch in the fall, as well as a zombie event in recent years!Concessions are all well priced and a small gift shop is also available. Posted hours are nice for planning when you live out of the city and will be traveling in. Strollers and wagons are available to rent and restrooms are easily manageable with littles and/or handicapped persons. Hand washing stations and sitting areas located throughout the farm.Highly recommend this family fun attraction!
A change machine for quarters is to your immediate left as you enter. You can buy bulk goat feed in the general store. Lots of small places to get food, plenty of choices. Kids loved it.
Took our 2 kids there and they had a blast from feeding the goats, to the hayride, milking the water cans and all the other activities. They have a bla Smith and playgrounds too!
Great visit for a great price. Lots of animals to see and interact with. You can feed most of the animals if you bring a pocket full of quarters. There are places to sit and several playgrounds if the kids get tired of looking at animals.
Lots of great fun! I knew my 7 year old would love it, but wasnt sure how much fun my 9 year old would have... it was totally worth going and he had a great time, too! We panned for gem stones, checked out how cows were milked and pet the barn cat, explored the old school house and tepees, went fishing, and road the ponies. Would go again
First time visiting and it was on the free weekend. The kids enjoyed it and well be back even if we have to pay. Its a dollar a bottle to feed the goats and the smiles it brings to the kids is priceless.
Love it. This place is worth more than they charge. So cute. Great family time too.
Wonderful place to spend the day with kids! They have a ton to do and it is super affordable! Clean, and well run with helpful and friendly staff. What a treasure to have in the area!
Nice place to take kids who are interested in animals or even old timey stuff, the price is really good $3 to get in before 2pm and free after.
So much fun for every age! Children love it here. They can pet baby animals plus several playgrounds to run off energy! The calf in this picture was born a little before we got there!
My kids have enjoyed visiting for years. Lots to do and several play areas as well as goats, birds & fish to feed and much more. We also enjoyed the Christmas light display.
Been coming to thid place for years. The kids love it. There is a lot of different things to do from fishing and petting animals to hay rides. The soft pretzels are good and The ice cream parlor has really good ice cream! Recently visited for a fiekd trip with my sons school and we had a really good time.
The Christmas Light Display was pretty amazing, the viewing is quite a great idea, just pull up, turn off your headlights, and tune in. Its on 5-11pm, so plenty of opportunity to go, and there are quite a few great song selections going with the lights, even star wars, commemorating the final chapter coming out! (The show is in rotation the whole time) And free! I only went for the light show, so Im afraid I cant comment on the whole place, but judging by this experience, Id say its a great place for families to have good, low-key fun.
Wonderful place with lots do for the little ones! The best part is getting to pet the goats. It is a very clean farm with paved walkways which was nice with a stroller and a toddler that isnt the best at walking on uneven surfaces. I will recommend this farm to any family going to the KC area.
Oh goodness. Well the staff is just amazing and so much for kids of all ages. I just loved it.
This place holds so many memories for me and pretty much everyone I know. This is like THE place to go if you have children or just as a date idea it is most definitely the move. It is quite inexpensive to go to, during the week I believe it is free on certain days and on weekends its like $3 a person. Honestly, you do get your bang for your buck and its a great way to pass a day. Would recommend!
We have been coming here since my children were small and still love visiting. Its a lovely walk and there are always so many things to see and do!
It is geared to preschoolers. There is nothing wrong with that. It is just the way it is. There is a nice mix of mostly farm animals and fun activities. Short legs will get a workout, and you will probably have sleeping toddlers on the way home. The site is about 90% wheelchair accessible, but there are some places wheelchairs cannot go.
Good for a family outing. Especially good for children under 8-10. Lots of interactive activities and worth the price. Good Christmas light production.
Affordable place to bring kids for an day of fun and learning. You can bring food and eat in their picnic area (outside food is not permitted outside of the picnic area or the birthday corrals) or they have a food shop that sells simple, premade sandwiches and snacks along with delicious hand-scooped ice cream. There are plenty of farm animals to feed (bring a roll of quarters for the feed machine), baby goats to bottle feed and even a horse drawn wagon kids can ride. For hot days theres plenty of shade. They offer plenty of birthday party space as well.
Not quite a zoo, not quite a amusement park! Thats what makes it so perfect, you can get through this place with nearly any time budget you have. People are friendly, its not over priced and they keep the place neat and tidy. If you ever have a chance to stop by the Overland Park area during the Christmas holidays, you have to do by and see the light show, fantastic!
We have a 5 year old and 3 year old. This was a great attraction for a family of littles! There was plenty to see and do and lots of room to play and explore. There is a lesson in every area of the park. The prices were amazing, too!
The Deanna Rose farm was such a neat place to visit. The kids loved it!! We unfortunately went during the first open weekend, and it was packed. I got the value pack, but the kids were unable to feed the goats because they were stuffed. They have mining, goats that you can feed, pony rides, hay rides and fishing. It was a fun Saturday and the kids had the best time.
Great outing with my younger grandkids!! Super affordable, well laid out, and just a perfect day outing!!
I have been here many times and will go again. It is a very fun place. Very family friendly. Great for young kids, but fun for all ages. The light display is amazing. I will go again next year.
Fun, fabulous, fantastic night at the farmstead. Lots of activities for the little ones. Highlight the haunted hayride. Mark you calendar for the next event.
I stopped by this cute store on my way back from Texas. There were so many items to choose from I wished I could have taken them all. I did happily leave with four items that made wonderful Christmas and everyone wanted to know where they came from!
Great trip, and a great Saturday. The best $3 admission Ive spent. Very clean, and super interactive for the kiddos. All the animals were out and about, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. A great experience for the whole family. Highly recommended.
We live about ten to fifteen minuets away. I wish that I had realized to buy the year pass a long time ago. We go so frequently, a family of five can buy the year membership for about just two visits to the park. We love everything about the park, and it is also extremely CLEAN every single time we have gone there. No litter, trash, junk ect. The entire grounds including the parking lot is immaculate. Which is such a complement considering how many people go on any weekend day. We also have attended in the past the holiday events and each year I tell myself Why did I not attend this event years before, how is this the first time I am attending which ever event it is. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Just as much if not more than my kids. The animals, all seem like they cuddle and love on the workers. Such as the sheep, goats, cow and ponies. So adorable to interact with and the staff/volunteers do a great job. I love how there are so many different interactive things for the kids to do such as, free trike rides, hayride, feed the baby goats bottles, feed the goats pebbles, ducks feedings, ect.. Then you also have the nature trail in the back of the park and three or four playgrounds and the food shops in front. We have spent an entire day yet again here and not completed every activity. I feel like every spring when we arrive after the winter closings, that they have added, improved or continued to innovate the park. Making it so amazing time after time. What also is a MAJOR WIN WIN is that when the park is closed, there is also a medium/small attached outdoor playground available to the children. Such a life savor on days when you just want an hour of playground time but not the whole park. Can not say enough great things!! If I would make ONE recommendation it would be to have an available bathroom with a changing station for that outdoor park area. As well as possibly consider gating the perimeter of that park solely due to one side having a sidewalk ramp up to the road/main road side walk for access. As well as the back portion having a wooded area with a creek. I say this because of how many times children are not paying attention and either attempt to run into the wooded area after going down the slide that curves to face it and or the children playing tag and ruining on / up the edge of that sidewalk. As a parent as long as I am watching my children I feel very comfortable without this external gate. However, not all parents/ adults supervision as closely which can be a bit nerve racking.
Wow. This place is great for young kids. If your for kids under 10 this is the jackpot. The admission cost is rediculously low and there is a ton of things to do and see. Food is trainable priced and you can spend the whole day here if you want.
I love coming here. The staff are friendly and helpful and theres a lot to do for the kiddos. Fall always is my favorite time to come out to visit pumpkin hollow and the night of the living farm event. They have an area to pet goats, several playgrounds, a little shop, a place to eat, and several unique things to do and see with your little ones.
Super fun working farmstead. Goats, horses, chickens, pigs, bunnies, and cows are all present. Youll even find birds of prey and a bobcat! Great for kids of all ages, with lots of activities to keep everyone busy. Admission is super cheap but some days after 2pm its free. Lots to see and do, definitely a great outdoor activity and a great way to spend an afternoon.
My kids adore this place. Such a great time for them all
Oh my gosh... BEAUTIFUL Christmas light show! I was so delighted my niece and nephew took the family. I will definitely be making this a new tradition!Thank you all for making a wonderful way to end Thanksgiving, and starting the Christmas season!10 stars
Love bottle feeding the baby goats! Great place for fun and education.
Its a walk through petting zoo with playground toys in some areas. Casual landscape settings good for humorous photo opps. Wear walking shoes and attire you dont mind getting a little dirty-possibly. There were puddles after a rain and animals pens; feed for farm animals, and fun places for kids to explore.
I like this place. Very fun! Halloween is a ball and both funny and scary. This place is so classic and gives me that chilly fall night vibes anytime I think of it! The animals are all very cool and interesting and they have a wide variety of stuff to do! I recommend it heavily if you looking for stuff to do with the fam! However I did wish that the prices were a tad lower and had more stuff in the garden area. But I recommend it! Also there food is very good and attractions are fun and educational! 9/10
Absolutely amazing place for kids to have such a great time! My son is almost 4 and had a total blast here, he wanted to do it all and loved that he could play with everything. I loved that he got to be outdoors and got to see the whole farm life
The Holiday display is absolutely the BEST!! Even my 15 year old enjoyed it and only cringed during frozen. well worth the trip and the roughly hour long show. Just wish there was someone directing traffic/parking and taking donations.
Great nieces day out. Wonderful place to take kids
Great place for kids all ages and perfect for spend some time in family!
One of our favorite day trips! This is perfect for my littles and they let you bring in water and snacks, so we stop half way through and pic nic. Highly recommend!
This place is so affordable you do not feel obligated to stay all day and do everything. My kids 3,5,7 had a blast. We did the pony ride, mining, fed baby goats bottles and they played on the playground. It was worth it ;)
Always a great time of discovery for the kids. They love mining for rocks and gems!
Great experience kids loved the activities and animals
An amazing gem in OP, great value and great fun for the kids.
It was fun and the kids had a good time!
There is so much to do here! Lots of learning activities for the kids and their pumpkin patch was excellent. Also, they named their 50 baby goats after Harry Potter characters, loved it!
This place is AMAZING and each year it grows. The world needs more places like this for sure!!!
Great place to take kids. 3 to 4 hours of stuff to do and pretty cheap
Great, inexpensive outdoor outing for the family. Lots of friendly animals (including baby goats you can feed), catch and release fishing, food, ice cream, and a playground.
I have family in KC and they took my family and I to Deanna Rose for a fun day for our little ones. Was pleasantly surprised on how much activities there was for kids. Also very interesting for adults too, highly recommend if your in the area and like any sort of agriculture or animals to check this place out!
Had a great time on my sons field trip!
Love the place kids always enjoy it. To bad the fishing was bad. No one was catching anything
This place is more enjoyable than the zoo for many reasons. It is very clean, most animals have a great enclosure. The enclosures for the bobcat and the raptors are the only reason I gave an imperfect score, I get it that they would otherwise not be visible, but to me that would be fine. The small trail through the flora sanctuary is beautiful. Great maintenance and keepers make this an exemplary place for kids to enjoy animals first hand. There is a lot to see in a beautiful but small patch of area. We will definitely return.
Deanna Rose is fun! There is a lot for the kids to see and do, like pony rides, feeding baby goats, and seeing lots of farm animals. Even the younger kids were interested. Definitely a great family day activity.
Super duper neat place with goats and things
Farm experience, relatively inexpensive. Almost better than going to the zoo. Many hands on activities for children. Tons of animals to pet and learn about. Fish werent biting much today, but we did at least catch one. Feeding the pygmy goats was the highlight for my kiddos. Definitely will return!
The holiday light show is spectacular! I felt like a kid again and my grandkids loved it! Go, you will not regret it! Thanks Deanna Rose and sponsors, for giving us a free holiday show ♡
Cheap tickets, beautiful park. Love bringing the kids here! Plenty to look at and see. We took our daughter here for her 2 year old birthday. It was not a disappointment
Awesome spot to spend a day with the kids of all ages. Staff is exceptional!
We went in the morning with our friends and the little ones. It was a good idea because it gets warm here in Kansas after noon! Loved the place, easy to let the walkers roam ahead of us not worrying about them!
Extremely friendly. Best experience for the kids.
Very nice lots to do here great for kids only thing that I didnt like was that it says 2 and under are free. My daughter is 2 and I had to pay for the entrance. Other than that the park was very nice and my daughter loved the got petting zoo. The package is very well worth it for the kids!
So much to see & do, and all at a very reasonable price. we return year after year and are never disappointed
I cant wait to take my parents to go see it. This was my second year of seeing it and at the age of 44 I will continue to go see it every year. It is incredible and beautiful!!!!! Thank you for making such a wonderland for everyone to enjoy.......
My family visits every year when we come from Connecticut! Kids love all the activities and animals!
Deanna rose farmstead is one of the best places I have took my kids. We need more places like this, my kids said they had so much fun here and didnt even ask to play with my phone or the tablet! So you get 5 stars . You can even have birthday parties here! The staff was nice and friendly great customer service as well.
Absolutely great place to spend the day with kids! So much to do and extremely affordable! You can find a bunch of different animals, lots to pet, things to explore, tractors to ride, the list goes on and on. Definitely would recommend!
Good place to visit with kids
