Good place to park if you want to walk around Capitol Lake. You can sometimes see river otters around here, either at the railroad bridge or at the dam between Capitol Lake and Budd Inlet. Also, you can walk down to the Tumwater Historical Park, although it is noisy along the Deschutes Parkway (maybe better to park at the Historical Park).
Nice park with bathrooms and parking. Good for a quick stop if you are going around the lake.
Marathon Park is a delightful place to walk or jog. The trail is about a mile and a quarter with lots to look at on your trip around Capitol Lake.
Beautiful views very clean not a speck of trash to be seen will definitely return
Great place to walk or run and think about anything. Bathrooms are usually clean. And only because they work hard to keep them that way. I just wish the water was cleaner. It would be nice to sit here and watch the kids fish. But still the best place to see the city at night with the lights dancing off the water.
Usually clean and well stocked bathroom. Nice walking area, though i recommend bug spray due to the icky lake.
The view is amazing from different areas of park you can relax under tree watch the trains pass
Good pathway to run or walk. 2 laps eqauls a 5k marothon.
I am frustrated that the map app wont let me choose to walk in the opposite direction. I hate walking along the street on pavement, so I walk the beautiful mile through the green trail on hardpack sand, then reverse for a lovely 2 mile outing. Nope, the map app refuses to let me tap and reverse. It shows me going back that way, but wont acknowledge it or show the distance. W. T. F.
Nice walking trail for casual conversation.
Nice place to eat lunch and enjoy the views
Nice, clean walking trail, with switch backs that go up to the Capitol campus. There is a lot of foot traffic there, so it feels safe to walk, if youre alone. Great view from all locations, too! There are clean restrooms on either side of the Lake.
It is one of the nicer sides of Capital Lake.....and....it has a much better view.
Beautiful walk and lots of room to walk the dog.
Our family loves walking around this park its beautiful in the summer time
Parking was easy to find, and there’s a bathroom right in the lot! Lots of people were out playing Pokémon go, walking dogs or kiddos, and enjoying the nice sunny weather. The lake is currently being cleaned from a recent oil spill but that didn’t take away from the views or block any trails unlike the park in Tumwater.
Beautiful and well populated Park and trail around Capitol lake. Its well maintained, generally safe, and great for laying in the grass, setting up a volleyball net, or walking/running/cycling. Good spot to bring a date. Has restrooms, but theyre kinda sketchy
The dumplings were really good and great customer service.
Small grassy area with a few picnicking tables over looking Capitol Lake and the Capitol Building. No bbq or grills so if you want to eat her bring food.Restrooms open till dusk. And is the start of a walking/jogging trail around lake. Ample parking, no gate at night well lit lot. The walking bridge is beautiful and runs parallel to the old railway bridge. In springtime at night you can enjoy the local brown bag population.
Had a wonderful day just walking around the lake and taking the pathway up to see the State Capitol. It was beautiful with great views all around. Very clean park, not too crowded, plenty of room to sit for a picnic or run or walk or simply sit. Nice to park for free for up to two hours, However if someone wanted more time they could park a bit away down the street that parallels the lake on Deshutes road, from what I could tell, the parking is not only free but doesnt have a limit in time, so assuming the normal park hours would then be applied. Its a small walk considering and its easily accessible. A good option if wanting to stay longer without getting a parking ticket in case you choose to stay longer than the 2 hour limit.
Great place with the family
Must stop here if you are a local or just visiting. Right on the water. Big space do do most outdoor activities, and clean bathroom.
The park has three different walk-run courses one is 1.5 miles another is 2.5 miles and the final one is 5 miles
The lake arterial is not friendly to visitors.
Marathon Park is a great place to run or walk. Lots of people but not too crowded. It could use more parking and longer open hours. Though theres usually some additional street parking on the southern side.
Beautiful views, great walking trail around the lake, and close to some great restaurants for before or after meals.
Pretty but more murder-y than say 5 years ago.
Quaint little park by Olympia capital lake. If you are a fitness enthuthist, you can start from this park and go around the lake. Going around the lake twice is equilant of running/walking 5k.
Wonderful resource for walking and enjoying the sun downtown. Dog friendly!
To bad its now homeless camp central
Great place to jog and take your pup for a nice walk.
Wonderful run round the lake.
This is a great and safe place to walk or run, with friends, family, your pets, or even just by yourself. I believe the distance is just under one and a half miles for a complete loop around Capitol Lake.
Stand by it always a fun place for the family and friends, also good for the lungs and hearts furthermore overall health for your morale of your inner being.
Great walk and drone footage..
Good place to walk your dog. Nice scenery
Great place to jog or walk with family and friends

Great views of the state capitol building and right near all the restaurants and stores.
Like this area a lot parks are amazing any park even if they dont have toys the kids love the nature too.
Great starting point for a walk around capital lake.
My pup and I walk around the lake, starting in the park. Lots of other runners, walkers, and puppers. You can also have a picnic lunch here. There are birds to watch and the occasional nutria makes an appearance.
We went a day that it was drizzling. I was so nice!!
Great for walking around the lake and having get-togethers, but the air often stinks because of the lake and algae.
Perfect meet up spot to walk around Capitol Lake or do the 10 trek up to the brewry and Capitol Campus
Nice people go there
Love to walk my pet there. He enjoys the attention
Nice trail with historical and informational plaques along perimeter of lake.
Its nice.
Defaced signs detract from the whole aesthetic.
Marathon Park is an excellent park to go to if you are wanting to chill on the grass in some shade on a nice day with a decent view of the lake. It clean and well maintained and has water fountains and bathrooms on site.
Great place to park while walking, jogging, or running around the lake. Feels safe.
Great place to spend with kids.
Great walk safe place and will go again and again
This is not a park with a playground so if you go there knowing that, its a great spot to relax, have a picnic, walk the lake, or play Pokemon Go!
They held a car show it was awesome
Great place to run, ride, walk, and walk with your puppies, and children!
Such a great location to hangout.
Best trail in olympia. So happy to have it all these years
Its always clean and its a great place for a walk or jog
Nice small park.

Fun walk or run. Climb the switchback to Capitol hill and explore the beautiful fountains and buildings.
Its got an abundance of eye candy...birds...water foul....deer...and apparently otters...who knew
Clean, nice, historic, and TONS of Pokemon Go stops - whats not to love? Well, maybe the goose poop, but thats sort of a seasonal thing. I like this place. So picturesque. And the public restrooms are not traumatizing at all.
Nice pit stop when walking or jogging around the lake. Water fountain by bathroom includes trickle for dogs. Parking can be limited and busy, but there is also street parking to the northwest.
Great for exercise walking or running. Path around the lake is convenient to free 2 hour parking lot, and unlimited time parallel street parking. Lots of birds and native plants along path. Ducks and occasionally an otter is spotted.
Great place to walk the dogs or stroll with kids. Great view of the Capital an the inlet. Great restaurants all around.
Nice place great for Pokemon go
My Husband and I call this our bonding place it was the first park he took me to when I came to Washington state. So beautiful and great walking around the lake
Nice spot for a walk.
Clean bathrooms, pet watering bowls
Large, beautiful and clean.
Love taking my daughter here and doing a couple of loops around the lake very well kept and friendly
Beautiful place for a nice brisk walk
A beautiful place to relax during lunch or after work. Plenty of parking. Full sidewalk for walking, jogging, or biking. Benches for resting. Clean and peaceful.
It was a fantastic day
Any park in the city with public bathrooms open during the day is always going to be great. Good scenery with the lake and a good place to start your jog, walk, or biking
Nice place for a walk.
