Lovely 1.5 mile hike through heavily wooded area on a well maintained path. Side path to Lake Louise. We were blessed to hear a few coyotes howling. No pets allowed. Not a rigorous hike.

I took my 4 grandchildren ages 12 to 5. The walk was easy and we saw so many plants, berries, flowers, trees. The kids loved the quiet. They particularly liked finding the water.

Nice nature loop trail of about a mile long. You will see evergreens (Fir trees mostly) and deciduous trees (hazelnut and alder trees mostly). Salal, sword fern, black barriers, and salmon berry all populate the trail sides. There are a couple of wetland lakes, but you wont see them from the main trail. There is a smaller trail that heads towards Louise Lake. To get to it, take a sharp left from where the trail loop fork starts. Enjoy the birds, red squires, and ant hills.

Quick loop takes less than half hour to walk. Very flat. The forest if pleasant and feels secluded. No major views of the water as there is no real shoreline. However there are places you can see it if you follow some of the side trails. Its a good place to run in the summer. During winter the exposed tree roots are a bit hazerdous for running, at least for me.

It was beautiful aside from the pile of old bones at the beginning of the trail. If they have history I would like an informational plaque stating such. If its illegal or unsafe I would like it removed. The lack of trail markers also confuses me it feels like I might walk into someones backyard.

I enjoyed this excellent urban ramble in the woods. The beginning and end of the mile and a half Loop trail is an open Prairie. The remainder of it was Forest and it was beautiful. I was there on a beautiful cloudless day birding and enjoyed the cool cover of the forest canopy. I didnt get a look at the lake nearby, but the underbrush was pretty thick and I couldnt maneuver and close enough.

Its a nice little trial. I wish dogs on leash were allowed here, but no pets are allowed. Parking is difficult. There is only a small gravel area on Kaiser RD you can park in. Other than that, very pretty.

Grass Lake Nature Park is a nature reserve in Olympia, Washington. The park has an area of 171 acres (69 ha).The central feature of the park is Grass Lake, a reservoir dammed in 1966. Swamp grass in the lake accounts for the name.[3]The lake and surrounding wetland has been owned by the City of Olympia since the 1980s. Amenities include a 1.3-mile (2.1 km) hiking trail.

Beautiful, hidden neighborhood park. Has over a mile long trail with many microbiomes. In the rainy season you better bring boots because some of the trails get flooded (as you would expect in marshy areas). Great place for family walks and a quick escape to nature in suburbia.

My family and I love this nature reserve, it is absolutely beautiful. There is a trail from the Kaiser RD entrance that begins pretty wide and leads to a Y where you can take a left and go on a longer nature walk with a thinner trail, or you can take a right and the trail ends soon at a neighnorhood. It is so amazing to be able to walk through these woods and lose site of our busy society and just pause in nature. I stop to hear the birds and take in the smell and feeling of nature, it is truly refreshing.

Its a little messy out th e re from recent brush removal but still a fun adventure for the family. We came across piles of what I assume were cow bones discarded out there. My daughter thought they were dinosaur bones. Whatever they were there was a lot of them. We hiked the trails it was fun.

This is a perfect place for an outdoor walk in Olympia. The downside is limited parking with no full sidewalk connection via Kaiser. Also, dog owners frequently have pets off leash. This doesnt offend me, but could lead to restrictions for all by the city of people dont follow the rules.

This park is a nice little walking trail. It is off limits for dogs though which is a bummer. The paths are a bit tight in areas so no strollers if you have munchkins. The scenery is beautiful and the path is heavily shaded which makes for a cool and pleasant walk.

I walk here frequently. The only downside is that I occasionally meet people who bring their dogs - this is a clearly posted no pets allowed nature preserve. With so many parks that do allow leashed pets, its hard to understand the comment of one woman with her unleashed large dog: Its not fair (to prohibit my dog)!

There are no dogs because it is a wildlife sanctuary. Dogs bring diseases, parasites, and the animals eat the dogs poop and get sick. If everyone with a pet cleaned up their poop, and took their animals to the vet more, then perhaps it wouldnt be an issue. So if you came here to complain about no dogs, then take your complaints to a park thats meant for dogs and isnt a wildlife sanctuary. Pretty easy to understand what that means.

The trail system sometimes gets a little overgrown and it is not very long. Very limited parking, especialy from the 14th ave entrance and the trail system is very short. But some beautiful views around the lake especially in the evening around dusk.

This park was slated to be a housing development back in the 1980s, but local citizens agitated for the city to purchase it. There is a one-mile trail loop and not much else, except trees and a pond, deer and birds. Main parking access is on Kaiser Road.
