I went during low tide around noon and there were large groups of people clam digging or muscle digging, not sure. It was still really neat walking and seeing so much sealife. So many little crabs and living sand dollars. There were 3 picnic benches near the beach and at the top parking area there is bathrooms. Parking seems to be an issue as it fills up quick and there is no other option for parking.

A sweet park with many areas to enjoy. From beach fun, hiking, picnicking and more. The only disappointment was the parking lot fills up fast. However, the park rangers were helping guide incoming vehicles as outbound vehicles were leaving.

Great park. Love the trails and the easy beach access. Best to go in the late afternoon/early evening, when the tide is out and you can enjoy the sand between your toes. ️

Didnt even know this gem existed until I decided to do a maternity shoot her based on my photographers recommendation!! Absolutely beautiful, and not super busy at the time in went which was 6:30pm. The walk down was easy but the climb up was a little harder for everyone involved, not just the pregnant lady lol. There are 2 parking areas as well which is nice and bathrooms! Beautiful views of the water and once you get to the beach. Parking costs $10.

Beach access here is good and relatively easy to walk to. The beach itself could use some cleaning and definitely some game wardens to monitor better here. Parking is quite limited so if you intend to show up after 8:30 in the morning expect to fight for a spot.

Great when the tide is low for clamming. Plenty of space for all to spread out. The water was not even cold because it was pretty shallow for a bit. Parking for the beach is limited, so you gotta get there earlier than noon. Id like to go back & check out the wooded trails.

I love this place. My kids do to they have clams, oysters and goeducks. The scenery is amazing, plenty of trails and nice bathrooms. Showers and water faucets around the park to wash sand off. The water is always nice on a hot day and is slow moving so its safe for the kiddos.Dogs are welcome parking on the lower lot can get harry. So always plan to walk a bit just in case its full. You do have to have a discover pass or pay to park.

Beautiful place, way out in the middle of nowhere, if you want to go down to the beach park in the lower parking area!! Although you can take a walking trail which has a staircase of sorts you have to be very careful not to slip. The last step off is can be very dangerous if you arent aware. Great beach clean family friendly perfect for the kiddos to play.or just sit relax and enjoy the serenity. Absolutely loved my visit there. 5 stars all the way 2 thumbs and 2 big toes up on this one.

This park is very close to the Lacey, Olympia area. It features a covered picnic kitchen area with plenty of tables at the upper park area. There is also a lower area by the beach. It also has a large enclosed area with rest rooms and more. There are picnic tables here and there, as well as hiking trails.

Small but fantastic state park near Olympia on far south end of Puget Sound. Mudflats at low tide offer an astonishing variety of sealife, including a variety of crabs, and razor clams. There are excellent second growth forests with easy hiking trails just off the sandy beach. Sometimes whales are visible from the beach area. The park would be an excellent place for a family picnic on a nice day. Well worth the price of a discovery pass.

Great little park for an hour or so walk. The trail was some twists and turns to keep it interesting but nothing too hard to keep someone with even young kids from a fun walk. The beach has an amazing view. Parking is limited (15 cars?) and youll need a Discovery Pass or pay the day use fee $10.

We enjoy coming here during low tide; however, if you are coming to be wowed by tide pools you will be disappointed since there arent any. This beach has a gravel shoreline and sandy beach when tide is out. At low tide there are tons of purple sand dollars as you walk out. This is one of the few beaches with a planted oyster bed. DO NOT TAKE OYSTER SHELLS! The babies live on them. You can clam here, but have your clamming license and check the regs to make sure clamming is open. There are manilla, small white clams and horseshoe clams that I know of. There are a lot of picnic benches and grills, restrooms, and a fresh water spigot at the parking lot. The outdoor showers have been removed. A Discover Pass is needed to park or you can pay for the day there ($10). There is an upper and lower parking lot, but they fill up quickly during popular times. Dogs MUST be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. The trail is well groomed and not too strenuous. #LetsGuide #LocalGuides #LeeHeath

We love this, for us, local beach. We love the low tide which uncovers sand dollars and scurrying crabs. And we love high tide when beach is small but we dont have to drag our kayaks far to get to the water so we can join seals which are always curious of us. On a clear day, Mt. Rainier is there to greet all the people who come digging for clams.

Beach is amazing, best time is to catch it low tide. You’re able to see a ton of different sea creatures, just remember all sea life stays @ there. Parking can be tough, pretty limited. $10 per car and pay at pay station. Attached pictures are of one of the trails nearby. Was beautiful and a nice good walk. Pretty well travelled you won’t get lost.

Another great State Park in Wa State! This park has wooded hills that roll down to the rocky beach. Trails cut through the woods and follow some of the tributaries as they cut through the woods heading out to the sound. See this park on high tide and low tide as the experience is a little different for each!

It was a pretty nice hike! I only had two problems. For one, the locks on the female bathroom stalls were all broken. The second problem is that there was a trail out and they had signage on one side, but the other side didnt have anything so we ended up walking a quarter mile the wrong direction and hit a dead end, we crossed anyway since we didnt want to go back around.
