Loved unit 1101.. Stayed 5 nights via vrbo.. Public areas have some age on them but our condo was updated and very nice. Huge balconies on the corner units! Quick elevator ride to the ground floor and not too far from the beach. Parking was easy as well!

The facilities were amazing. My family stayed in the 5bdrm condo and it was spacious. The views were amazing and the condo was comfortable. Felt like home. The amenities were lacking. On site there were 2 pools and 4 hot tubs and a lazy river. No restaurants or bars on site which was disappointing. I would definitely stay here again. Very close to many activities.

5 Bedroom Condo was spacious and clean. Plenty of room for all 12 of us. Quite and peaceful during the off season in October.

This is for suite 1104. It was clean equipped with everything you might need, the view of the ocean is amazing from the 11th floor.

View is unequaled. Furnishings were very comfortable. Equipped with everything imaginable. One of the best we have stayed in!

My family and I had a great time at the resort. Everything was clean and sustained during our entire visit.

Very nice photogenic hard-scaping and landscaping, grounds were clean and well maintained. Room was nice and well kept as well, 701. I was not a fan of most of the staff I or my family encountered, these set the mood for any exchanges during the remainder of the stay. There were negative interactions and I feel it is because there is a guest/ owner difference in treatment. This is also shared from some owners I spoke to during the stay who elaborated how the rules posted dont apply to them in a nonchalant manner. I want to like this place and consider it for my next stay in Myrtle Beach but I do not know that I will.

I cant rate this rate hotel. We walked in to inspect the room and found all kind of nasty stuff from bed bugs, trash left from a other guest, unclean room and the list goes on. Dont stay here!!! Roon 205

Nice condo complex. Great amenities.

Best place to stay on the North side especially if you have children. Staying here felt like being Im my own home, I was completely comfortable. Prices are a little high especially for the 5 bedrooms but you truly get what you pay for. The biggest issue that I had there was racism, seriously bad and over the top towards my children...the ppl were very ignorant and arrogant and saying that our kind(African Americans) didnt belong there and couldnt afford it smh. Sad situation and made is feel like we didnt want to be there. Overall this place is amazing, just look out for the racist and stay away!!!

The most beautiful room weve ever had in all our trips to Myrtle Beach ... perfect location to everything... not crowded... plenty of parking... everyone had their own room and bathroom... kitchen stocked nicely... view was great... only criticism was that the pool closed too early for August (10 pm), common area NEEDS ice machine and a bathroom... I would pick this unit to return to in a heartbeat...

These condos are very nice. Ours was huge and very nice! Mostly clean but there was a few dog pee stains in my room on the floor. There were also marks on the walls and the sheets definitely need to be switched out, very very scratchy and cheap! The pools were ok...

Overly priced

We enjoyed our visit at Southwind at the Ocean. You could tell that it had been recently updated and it was beautifully appointed. We had plenty of space for our family. Very happy to stay here with my parents so we could enjoy our childrens first visit to the beach. We could have used a few more forks and especially spoons, but otherwise, we had everything we needed. They were updating the unit directly above us, so it was pretty loud inside a couple of days, but understand it needs to be done. The kids loved the pool, lazy river and the hot tubs. The beach access was great!!!! We normally stay at North Myrtle Beach (Windy Hill section), but I liked this area better and felt we were closer to places that we wanted to visit at this location. Thanks for the great memories. Hoping to come back next year!!

We stayed in the #3 pent house. Everything worked fine and we were very comfortable. The pool area was always clean and tidy. Great location and plenty of parking. We’ll be back.

Outside of building: nice lookingCondo #205: My advice to others is only book from floor 5 and above if youre going to stay here. The ocean is a long ways out and the pool (along with the noise associated with it) is really all you see at this level. The condo itself was just ok. The floors were the worst...very dirty. As in, we wore our shoes at all times inside the condo and we dont normally do that in someone elses home, let alone our own. We will not be staying here again.

Exxellent room with great access to the ocean and all other things Myrtle Beach has to offer. The only negative was the higher than desired price as compared to other nearby facilities.

Ended up here by mistake due to a horrible experience at another resort. This building take you by surprise soon as you pull up. My fiance and I stayed in a 1 Bedroom Queen Oceanfront Condo and it was nothing short of greatness

How do I begin to even describe this beautiful, cozy, feel like home place . Me and my family love coming here and we will continue to choose this place for the years to come . We stayed in room 301 and it was everything we hoped and dreamed of . Beautiful decor, but it still felt like home. Its an end suite so it has a bigger balcony and on the 3rd floor so you still have a wonderful view just over the palm trees of the beach ! The only con I can even think of there was no public restroom in the ground floor for guests by the pool ? Otherwise everything is lovely and the pools are semi large. Larger than others Ive stayed at. All in all this place is a safe, clean, cozy place to spend time and make memories with your family.

This place is a little touch of heaven. The condo we stayed in had a balcony that wrapped around the condo. It was absolutely the most beautiful thing Ive ever seen. Weve found our annual vacation spot.

The condo was large but very dated and the carpet was nasty it needed cleaning. This was a 3 bedroom but it only had 3 chairs on The balcony .The pools were ok .The owners that live at the resort are very rude I will not stay here again .

The view & size

The resort is beautiful. Its very relaxing not to busy. Everything is well kept, the grounds are clean. Its in the best location on the beach. The beach is never very crowded here.

Its been great so far! Location and view are spectacular! The only complaint I have is that 2 bedrooms need curtains on the widows. The blinds do not block enough sun in the mornings.

First let me say this place is right on beach! The rooms are huge. This is a nice family getaway. You are about 15-20 minutes away from any and everything you could possibly want to do. I would defently stay here again.

Beautiful outside n has a beautiful fountain but the top floor room was a mess n the house keepers was very helpful. The sofa was dirty n the chairs was broken n dirty so outdated. i love the jacuzzi n the swimming pools n the beach but the room gets a 1 please do better . The gym was pleasant n these little beds smh . But the colorful of the room painted looks good.

Nice place. Not a resort style place. Its just a basic place, but nice. You can use amenities next door. But kinda a downer sitting in the hot tub and your scenery is the parking lot.

Nice quiet resort. Pools were never crowded and its in a good location. Between north and south Myrtle Beach. Our condo was nice but could have used a good cleaning. But it wasnt bad enough to spoil our stay.

Awesome place but not very fun.

My family stayed here during peak season during the summer. We had problems from the time we arrived here. Upon checking in to our room, we were greeted with a dirty couch and floors and marks all over the wall. After contacting management we were put into a penthouse room which shouldve been better but the only true improvement was that the couches and floor werent black from being so dirty. After a day of being at the hotel and paying for breakfast buffets where half the food was unavailable, a note was posted on our door mentioning sand that was apparently a problem in our room. Forgive me for thinking that a hotel at Myrtle Beach should be able to handle sand from its guests and expect sand to be tracked in to an extent much more than what my family left.

I loved the way the resort smelled! Like a tropical Oasis. The staff was extremely friendly as well and the food was exceptional. I also really enjoyed the new renovations theyve done it looks very clean and welcoming.

Worst experience Ive ever had, the bed in our room broke twice and was clearly broke before due to having been nailed together on the bed posts underneath, no service without walking next door to the other resort, condo was not clean and was covered in dust. Havent went back but for some reason my review was gone fixing that!

My family and I had an awesome time at this hotel, when we arrived the air was not working properly, called the front desk and maintenance was right on it. He did everything he could to fix it but could not so he called a AC guy and he came in about 30 mins got the air nice and cold. The resort manager Billy gave us a late check out for the problems. The room was nice and clean, the view was spectacular, the kids had a great time in the pool and lazy river. My family and I will be going back to this hotel from now on.

Amazing views from the penthouse! My only complaint is the pool is only 4ft deep at most, but still easy to overlook that with how beautiful the rooms and views are!

Great condo, very clean, right on the beach and within minutes of fun things to do in Myrtle Beach! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Just got here. We paid way too much for this small room. Beds are hard, sofa is worn out, stains. They agreed to upgrade up to another room. Well see how that goes. Later: Our upgraded room is better. Still needs a little cleaning though.

My family stayed here this summer and they were very rude. 1st room was in horrible condition carpet and couches were black from not being cleaned then we were moved to a penthouse room and management proceeded post a letter on our door complaining about sand... We are at the beach what do they expect. Seems like to me they would complain about people who do real damage and not about sand !!!!!

South Wind is outdated and in poor condition. The rooms (we were in 2 because the first one was awful so they moved us) were dirty -- bathroom floor was disgusting - grout was actually black with lack of cleaning. Management would NOT return our calls after we checked out, we requested some compensation for the room we wound up in -- they had replaced the water heater and the entire master bedroom closet rug was soaked. They sent a maintenance person who put a gigantic fan in the bedroom with the cord hanging across the bathroom door. So not only could we not use the closet, but had to listen to fan noise all day and night, and we had to climb over the cord to get to the bathroom. Not one word of apology or compensation from management. Will NEVER stay there again. Very dirty.

Stayed in unit 902, great experience.

Checked in today and not long after bringing our stuff up and not even unpacking we went out to check other places to move to. Its been 5 years since we have stayed at Southwinds and what a shock. Before we stayed in a 5 bed suite with family and it was wonderful. This trip only my wife and I came pre -booking a 1 bed suite and the room we were given on second floor was pitiful than were given keys to a second than a third and each had dirty walls old carpet old scratched tables and worn to the bone furniture including the bed. After turning these down we were given a 2 bedroom and first impression was its do able than after bringing things up we noticed the dirty and very worn out and smelly carpet in the master bedroom and that turn our next 6 days into problem. It is beside me that people can pay good hard earned money to go on a much needed vacation and to have owners of condos present there clients with such tasteless quality. We will not return to Southwinds and will not recommend it. Just wanted to add as we sit here in front of the TV we are constantly aware of the mold on the ceiling and wall above!!!

This place is beautiful, comfortable and classy. I will definitely be recommending this resort to a friend.

The rooms has varied from extremely nice to very bad. The the indoor pools are basically in the car garage and are extremely cold. When we where there they started to clean the pools and just left the pumps and brushes in the big pool while the cleaner just left the area for at least 30 mins.

Beautiful rooms and easy access parking make this a wonderful place to visit or stay. Nice people and gorgeous ocean views only add to its attraction.

Quite, lovely oceanfront units

Good, clean place. Enjoyed the stay. Has only 1 elevator which becomes annoying when there are lots of pol during weekend.

Common misconception is that South Wind on the Ocean is a hotel resort. It is a residential condo tower on the ocean. It is not a hotel. Some owners rent their condos, but that is not the norm. If you rent someones condo, through their agent, realize that it is NOT a hotel resort. HOA rules must be followed to include no smoking on the property, even on the balconies, noise ordinances will be enforced, and other condo rules. Check with the owner of your unit for the complete list.

Ive been staying at southwind over the past few years, but its changing rapidly. Housekeeping is pretty bad. The entire unit was dusty, bathroom appeared clean, but didnt smell clean.

My experience was a DISASTER!!!!Arrived at Southwind not attendant available to help so we had to go next door to Beach Colony. The staff there booked us in. The keys didn’t work. It’s Cold outside with small children waiting because we had all ready unpacked. Had to drive back over to get someone to unlock the door. Beach colony was not answering phone. Finally got into this 5 bedroom nasty dirty outdated room. Dirty was a understatement. Went back to beach colony and staff told me it’s nothing she can do until morn because no manger was on staff and I couldn’t get a refund. Mind you it’s 10pm. She let me see a 4 bedroom at beach colony the supposed to be ocean front but all you see is trees and the room had 2 TVs and was not to my standards. We back and forth about my refund and finally tried to get settled after midnight. Could not sleep the 5 bedroom was nasty. Stove, refrigerator, bedroom linens, sofa, sofa bed. Omg. Then morning spoke to a supervisor That was full of attitude after waiting to speak with us after seeing me for 30 minutes. She told me we can check out but it’s she only can give me $50 off my stay. I said no I want a refund because if management was here last night I could have just left. She was rude and nasty. I then ask for her supervisor which was an assistant general manager who basically said whatever the supervisor said that’s what it is. She never wanted to come out and speak with me directly or on the phone. She wanted me to leave my number for her to call me. I look to see if they had Sister properties because if I checked out The was gone refund me one day but in 3-5 business days. So I called and went to Landmark Resort myself and viewed the room and resort. Really nice customer service and Resort over there. I went back to Beach Colony to get a transfer but told them my room over at there Sister property would not be ready until 4pm. She said I had to be out the unit by 11. At this time it 10am. After being back and forth since 6:50am. Ok cool. I left and took the kids out because it was my sons birthday. And we checked into Landmark at 4pm. I look on line and found the general manager as Darby Davis left a message for him to call me no answer back after it’s been 24 hours. I’m convinced that’s how they do business..Beach Colony staff is Full of attitude and rude and Southwind 5 bedroom I was in was not clean and very outdated. I WILL NEVER STAY IN EITHER RESORT AGAIN.

URGENT! The photo on the GOOGLE highlight box of a 3-story, 1950s style motel is NOT a photo of Southwind. Southwind is NOT a resort hotel, far from it. It is, however, perhaps the finest private resort condominium in all of Myrtle Beach. There are some public rentals by private owners, but for the most part, this is an OWNERS property that is coincidentally located next to that tiny old motel

Not clean, worn down dirty old furniture, no customer service people at the front desk-had to walk to condo complex next door to check in, check out and request service (like when the refrigerator didnt work or the TVs didnt work). Stayed in unit 1402 - wouldnt stay there again.

Southwind is a great place to stay for a long vacation! I enjoy coming here to visit my grandma. She has lived at southwind for 10 years. It has been a great place to at live at! I really have enjoyed coming here and growing up in this place. I have also stayed at some of the other bigger units here. Very spacious, clean, nice, updated kitchen and a beautiful view! On the people that work here are super nice and work really hard to make southwind look great! They also have really great pools which just got a new surface in th pool and new lights. They have a Lazy river, 2 hot tubs outside, and big pool. One big indoor pool, hot tub and kitty pool inside.

Our family stayed here in July during peak season and payed dearly for the room to begin with from our hard earned money that we work for. The first room we were put it was disgusting. The carpet, walls, and furniture were black from lack of cleaning or any care for which seems to be the theme of this place...lack of care. After being placed in a penthouse room (which was no better) management posted a sign on the door for us to please refrain from tracking sand in the room. We are at the beach! What do they expect?! They need to invest in their property and develop the staff instead of being nasty and rude to adults who know how to act and take care of a room. If you ask me I think there are lazy, pathetic excuses for workers here who dont want to do there job. Maybe they forgot what a broom and dust pan are...also a poor excuse for a restaurant at the Beach Colony building. Service there is sorry and non existant and then you can expect they may run out of biscuits, bacon, potatos, and orange juice, and yes, all at one time. So what is the point of the buffet breakfast? Management needs to evaluate what they are doing and put there focus where it needs to be...on the people who pay outragous prices to stay at these resorts and get their facilities in order to make our stay enjoyable. No one cares about how they do their jobs anymore and no one is held responsible. They also do not care how they treat their tenants with the utmost disrespect. Good luck if you ever have to talk with management here as they are pathetic. Its time for that to change. I will never grace this property again with my presence and i do not advise anyone else to either.

Stay here was disappointing. Upon arrival the room was disgusting. The carpets, walls, furniture.....everything was gross. The furniture was black from filth in the original room they tried to give us. They switched us to a penthouse room which wasnt much better. Also management left a rude note about sand outside our door???? Which we havent even been back to our room since we left early this morning. The hallway is obviously public? So it wasnt even our sand. My family and I spent alot of money to stay here. They need to start viewing visitors as the paying customers we are and realize they wouldnt have a job without them/us. Wont be back.

It is one of the best resorts Ive stayed at. Not only the rooms are nice and clean and roomy, the view from the balcony is perfect and is nice to sit and take in. Definitely would recommend this resort.

Supervisor from beach colony Lanea was very nice shes awesome.Our room had supposed to be king bed with ocean front.we got a full bed.but once Lanea got in she handle things and we got our king bed thank u Lanea.

Condo #801 of Southwind On The Ocean was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!nasty dirty carpeting, old outdated furniture, broken patio furniture, etc. The Manager would not come over to the property, she had the front desk take of the issue! We made them find us other accommodations at their sister property which was still a downgrade (we went to the local stores to get cleaning supplies) but it was still cleaner than at SouthWind.. Due to the holiday it was slim pickings... I wish I could download the pics and video.. NASTY NASTY.......!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH SOUTHWIND GET MY BUSINESS EVER!! A waste of time and vacation for myself and the 6 other professionals that flew in to have a nice getaway on the beach along with us. Myself and Jamie White (made the reservation) will be contacting Corporate.
