This review is all on condo 804.During this Covid-19 we chose a condo that had a kitchen so we didn’t have to go out for food. The unit is so out dated it so upsetting. There were no frying pans or enough utensils to cook. I had to go buy frying pans and utensils so I could cook. The cabinets very poor condition. The couch is a pull out bed but with the holes and tears in the mattress very bad. At least it had a form pad on it so it could be sleep on for the kids. We did use all the extra covers and sheets to cover from the closet. The location of Forest Dunes and the views is great.
Last minute trip to the beach. Did not have an reservations. Called around and decided on Forest Dunes. They had great rates, customer service at the desk by Kay Ann was spot on. Only issue we had was code for the door didnt work. Called sister property where I had to check in and was put on hold for over 25 minutes before someone would assist me. The condo was beautiful! Was a great value for the money. Will return!
We definitely enjoyed our stay! Clean rooms a lil outdated but definitely worth it in my opinion. Been coming here to MB every year and we chose Forest Dunes. We love the kitchen space, plenty room to move around and beautiful views from the balcony. This city never disappoints us so well be back!
Update to below. We complained. They moved us and now we have a wonderful room. I dont understand why they would even rent the other unit. It was unit 103. Outdated and shabby. Cockroaches and cobwebs! I looked at other reviews and i am wondering where these wonderful rooms are? And the nerve to charge an extra $56 on top of the $179 for 2 nites. Honestly, definitely not worth the money. Finding another hotel right now.
Clean and beautiful condo! We always request a higher floor, andI did 3 times since i made reservations in February, but only got the 3rd floor, but the room was gorgeous! We stayed in room 309, and I totally reccomend this condo!! It was clean, very beachy and the view was amazing!!
Each unit is individually owned. Really nice room but the one we stayed in was a little dated. It had amazing panaramic windows and each of the 3 bedrooms had direct ocean front views and access to the huge balcony. Plenty of space and location was great, mins from everything.
I will start off by saying it was a BEAUTIFUL view! Absolutely breath taking from the 12th floor. BUT, it was very outdated for the price. Carpet was ripped up,glass table had a broken corner, toilet wouldn’t flush correctly, and it was extremely HOT! I understand being that high up would be somewhat of a heat issue but it stayed 83 degrees the whole time. The only air we got was leaving the balcony door open in each room and it’s not ideal with children. When we first got into the room it looked as if it was a fast clean up from the last family. Things were still left hidden up under the bed and in drawers so I knew they wouldn’t clean it as they were supposed to. Crumbs all over the living room area along with sand. It looked as if someone came in refilled all the things that were empty, straightened up the beds and left. After seeing that I wouldn’t trust the sheets. Hot tub was never cleaned out and the lazy river was down the whole time due to someone breaking a bottle so didn’t get to enjoy everything for over $1000 price. Did enjoy the view but like I said...that was it.
I have stayed here several times. I love the property in general but I don’t like the check-in process. I don’t like the off site check-in.
Have stayed here several times and this was one of my best experiences yet. Didn’t like the fact that heck in and check out is off the resort, but other than that.
What a wonderful stay! We had a gorgeous room on the ninth floor. Fantastic veiw! Everything new, updated. Great customer service, great amenities. We will definitely be back forsure. We loved having a full kitchen to cook our meals mostly in the hotel. The pool, lazy river, and jacuzzi were great! Private walkway to the beach was super convenient as well. We were fortunate to have good hot sunny days during our trip. The room was blasting with cold air conditioning too. Highly recommended if you need a nice place to stay with your family or friends!
Stayed in a room on the 17th floor. Such a beautiful room. Rooms were nicely decorated, balcony had great view, everything was clean and worked, and it was spacious!! I have very high expectations/ standards for hotels and condos I choose for vacation and this one was one of my favorites
Great ocean front condos that dont break the bank!
We absolutely love Forest Dunes. Normally we rent the same unit each time we come, and rent directly from the owners; however because my husband and I decided to take advantage of the long Labor Day weekend and come back a month later (kid free) we rented directly through Forest Dunes’ website. Very disappointed to say the least. The picture on their website of the unit we selected to rent was not the unit we were assigned at the time of check-in (unit 310). The owners of unit 310 should be ashamed of themselves for thinking that their unit is acceptable enough to rent out. In addition to the unit just being completely uninviting and very unappealing, there were many other issues: 1) the headboard wasn’t even attached to the bed, so any movement during the night would cause it to fall forward to the point it was almost on top of you; 2) there’s no lighting, nor lamps in the “living room” so the only light you had at night was the fluorescent 1980’s ceiling light in the kitchenette area; 3) the tv on the wall in the “living room” is 20” and sloppily hung on the wall to the point that there were wires poking out and hanging everywhere; 4) the silverware that was in the unit for guest use was rusted, nicked on the sides from I guess numerous time of going down the garbage disposal so each time you would use a spoon or fork to eat, it was so sharp it would nick your mouth; 5) the cleaning crew must not mop the floors each time they come in to clean because they were disgusting; 6) the toaster had an 1/2” layer of dust on it so the cleaning crew must not wipe down anything when they clean; 7) the under cabinet mounted microwave is too big and it seems whoever installed it had to bend the upper left hand corner of the frame to get it to fit right so each time you open the microwave door it catches the bent-in part; 8) the kitchen sink right side handle should actually be on the left side so when you turn the water on with that nob you actually have to turn it the opposite way; 9) the plastic cheap chairs on the balcony prevent you from actually seeing over the balcony and seeing the ocean which defeats the purpose of renting an oceanfront unit; 10) the unappealing Furniture was uncomfortable, there was no coffee table or end tables to sit your drinks on—there was just an uncomfortable sofa and a recycled hotel lobby chair. We love Forest Dunes resort and will continue to stay there, but for those of you who are reading this, avoid renting unit 310!!!!!
Last minute booking my wonderful wife found and we love it .
Pretty nice. Bathrooms are a little small but kitchen are great for a condo
Been staying here for years. Had to go out and buy cleaning supplies to clean the place. Had to borrow a vacuum.Room was very outdated. Drawer fronts falling off bed had waves in them, washing machine and dryer on its last leg. Do not stay in Room 1205. Worst Room we ever stayed in, in the past 6 years. Filthy place!! We are extremely disappointed. Had to repair both toilets.
Bar is the greatest, Kate makes the visit special, awesome host, cook, bartender.
Great location. Our first time here, wish we were put in a room on a higher floor because our ocean front is blocked by pretty palm trees. If we stay again it will be above the 6th floor. Beds leave a lot to miss home for. Clean and well designed. Love all the views we have, if the windows would tilt I would clean them myself. Over all I would recommend Forest Dunes and remember my memory foam topper next time (see Im already planning).
No complaints, rooms nice and clean, good service every day. Cant beat the price
Nice room with lots of space. Like a small apartment. Staff was very friendly. We arrived early and staff let us do a pre-check in so that we could have a parking pass. We parked, headed to beach, and they called when room was ready. Very nice. Nice pool area with 2 pools, lazy river and spa. Kind of small, but well kept. Just a small walk across road and you are on beach. Nice beach area that was not crowded. They have a small boardwalk taking you down to beach with a shower station. Rooms were not very sound proof, some stains on carpet, but overall, very roomy, with 1.5 baths. Would stay there again with no fuss.
The location was great. Quiet and not crowded in the beach area pools were nice indoor and outdoor. Check in was a breeze it took no time. My only complaint the room I was in was extremely outdated the only thing I feel like needs to be be done is a remodel of rooms that need care it should be a requirement. I know some condos are privately owned but still please remodel the rooms that need care. Other than that I had a great time
Great place to vacation.
Nice size room with extra space. Right in front of the water
The room with spacious like a one-bedroom apartment. The room did not smell good. There was no ice and no ice machines. There is an ice maker in the freezer but it is empty when you check-in so there is no ice until late in the evening. The TVs are run by spectrum and every 20 minutes the TV goes out. This applies to both TVs in both rooms. The beds are terrible egg carton foam that is old the mattresses are not covered totally zipped in which can allow for bed bugs. I would not stay in this hotel again.
We stayed in room 207, when we arrived, the room was filthy, had not been vacuumed, cheerios on the floor, counter top was so dirty, after I cleaned it off with Bleach, got all the stains up, I knew they never even cleaned the counters in the kitchen and bathroom before we got there. We had to wipe everything down. Then there was a thunderstorm our last night there, the drainage system in the air conditioning closet, started banging loudly,we taped it on our phone so management could hear what we went through for 2 hrs. Woke us up at 3am, went on until 5 am. We went to the office to see if we could get a later check out, we were told no, they had to clean the room and it was a Monday and no one was there. At 11:05 am some guy opened our door and asked if we were leaving because they had to clean the room. I told him they didnt clean it before we got there what was the rush to clean it this morning. Also the rooms they show on Expedia, are not the rooms they rent, the bed was on a hard platform and if you sat on it hard your knees would hit the wooden platform, cheap mattresses/sheets/comforter. The sliding door on the balcony was extremely difficult to open and even if you left your room and let the door slam, it would not close completely, the lock stuck. We got back and noticed our door was not closed after hearing it slam, checked it out and it actually would not lock when slammed so be careful not to leave valuables in there and not make sure if it is locked.
We recently just stayed here in room 1705. Super view of the ocean and the street however the room needed repairs. The pop corn ceiling peeling off, the couch is torn up,needs painting and the baseboards needs painting as well. Very disappointed as a returning guest year after year. It really makes me mad knowing our past experiences have been wonderful. Very very disappointed this trip. The staff was great. Billy is always helpful and house keeping did a great job cleaning our room and making sure we had what we needed.
Tiffany who works at the Myrtle beach T Forest Dunes was recorded hanging up the phone, stating they will not give me a refund even though it’s COVID-19 health related issue with a doctors note. This is a resorts with 100s of people?!? I told Ms.Dixon who was the “supervisor” is racist and used the term “discrimination”. Go support a better resort than this hell hole greedy place that does not care about spreading Covid-19. Terrible!
Because of an error on Travelocitys website, I inadvertently picked Forest Dunes to extend my stay at Dunes Village resort in Myrtle Beach by one night. The photograph on the listings for the two different hotels is identical and wrong for either hotel. Because of the inflexibility of Travelocity and Forest Dunes and your unwillingness to switch my second night to where I originally checked in, I had to relocate to Forest Dunes for the second night. No one was willing to accept responsibility for YOUR error. I will no longer use Travelocity as a result of this experience, unless you refund one nights stay to me. Or to be more precise, I will use Travelocity to locate hotels, and then deal directly with the hotel.
We rented a place on the 16th floor. It was very clean very beachy theme with the decorations Linens provided. Early May the crowds were still lite. Ocean is right across the street as seen in the photos the pool water was warm enough to go swimming in but not heated. Half a block away is a playground for the little kids. And very close to the Carolina Opry House and other North Myrtle Beach attractions.
Definitely needs new management. Just spent Sunday to Wednesday in 409, nice remodel but the sofa needs to go and the bedroom furniture needs maintenance. Been going there for about 20 years with family, third time this year. The place is going downhill. The new windows are really fogging to where it is hard to see the beach. Current management has removed all beverage machines, snack machines and game machines. (These usually provide free profit.) Appears only 1 person is working check-in most of the time. ATTITUDE is a big problem with management. If they lose Billy, they need to shut the place down. He is the most accommodating front desk/reservation person, always trying to get the condo we want. The call center does not know the resort. Take time to read the responses to the reviews, noting more than cookie-cutter answers, nothing personal. The responses shows the attitude of the management--it is all about me.
We stay here everytime we come to myrtle beach. Rooms are always clean and decorative. They make it very comfortable to stay here.
Its alright bit there is a lot of noises that scare you and people kept ding dong ditching which got highly annoying
Filthy, dirty, and nasty. I was misled by the online advertising
The room was just a little tired looking and not real clean.Face marks and hand prints on the slider.
We stayed here a couple weeks ago and we had a one bedroom rm. 806 it was beautiful absolutely no complaints. Staff was polite and helpful, Were going back in October and were going to rent a 3 bedroom. I truly hope we have the same experience
Dont go unless you just have no other option. Lets start with the room...extremely hot. And they knew this because they had box fans in each room with the room number written on them signifying that they were aware of the hot conditions. Called maintenance and they did something and left without saying anything had to call the front desk to find out what the status was. They said wont get cool to the next day. Well next day no change.....notice that the floor kept getting wet. Found out the toilet was leaking on every flush. Came to fix it and said that everyone was gonna have to use one toilet for the rest of the trip (not happening with 7 people)...staff was so so, not really rude but not very helpful. They just kind of state policy real nicely but no sympathy for your issue at their resort...not much to do on site other than swim. Staff comes into the room when they get ready. However the room was very very spacious....I got transferred to beach colony resort
Nice stay that is very close to the beach. My family has been coming here for about five or six years. It is centrally located to anyplace you might want to go. The staff is nice and helpful. Some of the condos need to be updated, but the stays have been pleasant
Great stay my family rented a private condo. We were right are from the beach no crowds very peaceful. Very clean and just beautiful.
We absolutely love this place! You will not be disappointed.
My husband and I stayed in room 1107 October 25th - 27th. I wasnt expecting this condo to be so nice and clean very impressed, we loved the 1 and a half bath. The price was amazing, the only thing that I was concerned about was it could use a little upgrading, the but we will definitely be back
Time and time again, Forrst Dunes ends up being the best deal on the strand. Rooms are nicely decorated, giving them a comfortable home feel. You cant go wrong with Frest Dunes !!
Very beautiful view of the beach. Very inexpensive and gorgeous rooms with a beach vibe decor. Im enjoying my first time to Myrtle Beach! Thank you Forest Dunes.
Stayed their twice previously and enjoyed myself, however, this time wasnt good. The front desk staff was very nice, welcoming and professional. The hotel room needs a deep cleaning, bed spread needs to be washed, floors werent swept properly and room had an odor when we first walked in. Please improve the housekeeping department and pass this message to the Owners
The rooms were nice and clean front desk workers were pleasent i really enjoyed my stay there
Wonderful, accomodating and polite staff. Lovely, updated and clean room. No complaints.
Wasn’t given the room advertised carpet smelled horrible. Appliances outdated room needs to be cleaned. Glad only staying one night here. Big Room Bar and grill a step away from the beach don’t get room 103
Beautiful view and service
Very out dated rooms
The 3 bedroom oceanfront condo we were first given on the 12th floor was dirty, old and smelled. The furniture was disgusting and the rugs smelled. There was no way I was staying in that place. They shouldnt even be able to rent that condo out. I was so disappointed especially since I was paying over 3,000 for the week...then they gave us a room on the 12th floor. That 3 bedroom was a little better. It didnt smell but all the walls need to be painted the wallpaper needs to be removed and the furniture cleaned. Rugs need to be cleaned as well. Will not be returning to this place again. My understanding from the front desk is the condos are all individually owned. They obviously have no standard on how each condo is maintained. Housekeeping does the minimal in cleaning as well.
Omg this place was amazing. I will not stay anywhere else in Myrtle, staff is amazing.
Location of the condos were great. Ocean front and ocean view. Rooms are what you would expect when you go on a beach trip. Very standard. Service was great.
An amazing place to stay. Very friendly and clean. Right across the steeet from the beach.
We loved the rooms and the views are really nice. The only problem we had was the house keeping when we got there. The toilets were not cleaned well, there was trash under the beads. They didnt come by to pick up the trash we had to call them to come get the trash. The employees were very nice and respectful. I really enjoyed and appreciated the welcomed southern hospitality.
This was a cozy spot, a nice “home away from home”. It was definitely convenient because it is right near the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen area much, but was glad it was provided. Most nights, we’d unwind on the balcony and the pool and jacuzzi were relaxing as well.
Rented the place through airbnb. Great place. Great views. Got indoor n outdoor heated pool.
We come here twice a year. Nice staff.
Loved it nice customer service and the room
Best place to stay
Nice big clean room and view
The carpets were disgusting and stained, the bathtub was so nasty i couldn’t even put my daughter in it to bathe her, the pullout couch was falling apart and looked disgusting. there was cockroaches outside of our door. they tried to charge us twice for the security deposit. and to get a “ocean view” like the description says you pretty much have to hang over your balcony and look over to the side because the only view we had was of another hotel. we will NEVER be coming back to this place! what a joke!
Use to love this place, maybe it’s new management but the last time I was there was the worst, something in the room caused me to have an allergic reaction. Staff wasn’t helpful or empathetic. Referred me to management and I never hear a word back. Looking for a better place to host my 4 to 5 visits a year.
Nice place to stay, but housekeeping needs to do a better job. They do not change the sheets like theyre supposed to. And sweeping and vacuuming could be a lot better.
Absolutely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at for the price!!!!! This place is better than some Hilton properties I’ve stayed at and the room reminds me of my own home and I have a very nice expensive home so that’s saying a lot. We will be back next season and we won’t be staying anywhere else. Take the Myrtle beach challenge at stay here room 607 and tell me you don’t like it! Thanks forest dunes!!
The rooms had everything in it stove dishes coffee pot microwave all the Comforts of home an ocean was right across the road
This is a very nice hotel but the house keepers should do a little better with cleaning. There was a empty liquor bottle in the cabinet above the refrigerator, the bathroom had hair all on the toilet, the stove and the side of the refrigerator were dirty with grease stains running down it. But other than that it was ok.
Great place to stay
Love staying here. Like home.
Plenty of food, mash potatoes cold, chocolate pudding tastes like coffee.
Just steps away from the beach. Not crowded... Peaceful!
My family and I just returned from Forest Dunes today. We absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this place! Fully equipped kitchens and ocean front views, and very close to fun things to do. We loved the spy glass and jungle safari mini golfWe didnt want to come home. My only complaint is that it could have used a good vacuuming and the balcony door wouldnt lock, but we wedged a broom handle in it so it wouldnt open. Thank you Forest Dunes for making my familys first MB trip one to remember and we cant wait to return!
The only thing I liked was the fact that it was close to the beach and it was very quiet in the area. The room itself was nothing like the pictures, it was dirty and very outdated
We chose this location for our week long stay at Myrtle Beach. The staff here have been wonderful! Everyone is courteous and kind. The condo we have is clean and pretty well maintained. The view is to die for in a corner condo! I would definitely stay again and recommend this location to others looking for a place to vacation.
Wonderful stay. 4 stars cause we couldnt stay longer.
The first condo assigned was not up to par. We asked for another one and it was perfect. The staff were very accommodating. We will stay there again. Loved the pool and the Lazy river pool. Loved the cleanliness of the second condo as the first one was dirty with old furniture and torn pillows. Also stains on the sheets. All the light switches were dirty. There were crumbs on the floor around the table. I could not have stayed in that one. I’m so appreciate the staff that moved me to another one. She was awesome.
Love Forest Dunes! Great place to stay with kids. Ideal location if you want to be close to everything yet be in a low key area. The staff is friendly and always professional.
I had a good experience staying at this hotel, the room was spacious. The front desk lady was very professional and pleasant.
Very nice room and very nice staff️
The room was very nice. Unusual upgrades like nicer cabinets and granite. Friendly front desk. Much nicer than the hotel itself to include the pools. Overcrowded. Have stayed in better accommodations in N. Myrtle Beach. Wouldnt choose this one again.
Great location and view. A little dated in the construction of the place. Felt like I was in a Miami vice episode from the 80s. But staff was nice and attentive. Loved having a working kitchen. Will definitely be back.
Great location right across the street from the beach. Condos are spacious and clean with great views from the balcony and main living room. Buckets Bar and Grill is also onsite which was a huge convenience. Had an issue with service, like a broken lock on the front door that was never really fixed and maid service was slow in the beginning. They did get better after a couple days though and I would not hesitate to stay again.
This was an amazing experience!!!! GREAT HOTEL. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the elevator was a big issue only has two for the whole building. LONG wait. But other than that it was amazing
I stay there last year for memorial weekend ...staff was pretty friendly great place ....
Location is great! View is wonderful! But the place looked pretty beat up from the summer vacationers, you need to clean the unit you rent when you arrived, the housekeeping dept. here could really improve their work!!
Located in less crowded area of MB, private access to beach with Lifeguard post there, as well. We were on the 14th floor and he a great view for 4th of July fireworks! Spacious 3bed/2ba condo unit, however cleanliness of unit was a lot to be desired. Overall, a great place for families, not a singles hangout.
Very nice quiet placeJust across the street from the oceanWe had a great view from our room and enjoyedSitting on the balcony watching the waves
I had booked reservations for oceanfront with a few details to what I wanted. The front desk reassured me that they could accommodate my request. When I arrived, it was oceanfront and oceanview, but the place was aweful. Very dirty, head board was nasty, floors were dirty. The commode lid was peeling. The furniture was broke, missing a leg on the couch. How they hand the outlets was a fire hazard. Went to front desk, and since it was a holiday, they had no other rooms. Going on 3 weeks now for the manager Brittany to return my many messages that I have left. Will not be back.
The room we stayed in was really spacious. One bedroom with two full beds, a living room with a sofa bed, balcony with good ocean view, kitchenette with everything you need to cook anything and one and a half baths. Room was clean but a little outdated. Overall pretty good hotel for the price. I would stay again.
Apart from a few drawbacks, such as a squeaky bed and old furniture, the resort was a wonderful place to stay. It had an absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean from the 10th floor room I was in, and the staff was above and beyond friendly and helpful, especially Amanda who was the desk attendant who checked us in. She made sure to inform us of all their amenities and local attractions and restaurants, it was quick to answer any questions that we had with a smile. Will definitely stay there again.
View from our room was beautiful. Lobby, elevator and hallways leave a lot to be desired. Our room was neat and clean though and as I already stated the view was beautiful. Literally right across the street from the beach, no obstructions to our view.
This property has an excellent beach. One of the best. There are no towers on either side of the property and so the beach across is not as crowded as most. The sun stays out extra long into the evening because there are no hi rises next to the building. The property itself is somewhat dated, at least the condo we were in, but nothing you cannot bear. We are mostly go to the beach all day types and then go out to eat so it was perfect for us. One indoor pool, a nice outdoor pool (7 feet deep), a kiddie pool and lazy river. There is a nice cabana at the edge of the beach for you to rest in after you spray the sand off. We enjoyed our stay..
