Stayed here twice in 2 weeks. Was in Myrtle Beach for 2 huge National Wrestling Tournaments. Signs everywhere to wear a mask, and stay social distant form others. Rooms were clean, view of the ocean was nice. First time we were in the South building and the second time we were in the North building. Staff was friendly and checked us in as quickly as they could. The free breakfast was across the street and you couldnt eat inside. They had tables outside or you could just take the food back to your room. Overall it was inexpensive and perfect for what we needed.

This place for us was nice. Price quality is fine. The breakfast is not very good, and also not varied. The staff are friendly, some are not. The installation is somewhat old, but manages to cover the basic needs. In high season parking can be a problem. The view to the beach it is amazing! The place is free smoke but, many many persons smoke in the building.

Always clean and relaxing. Awesome buffet breakfast. This is our favorite place to stay. Beautiful view from our balcony.

We came down for a car event and this was the perfect place to stay for us. The staff was very friendly and made check in and check out a very smooth process. We stayed in a 2 bed beach front room and it was exactly what we needed for the weekend. The view was great and the location of the hotel was central to everything we had planned for the weekend. There were nearby restaurants we ate at that were only a couple minutes away and one night we even walked just 2 blocks down to a pizza place for an excellent dinner.((Just a tip: we found fliers under our door for pizza delivery, however upon looking all of them up (they weren’t on google maps) we found the yelp reviews for those places we’re NOT very good and were from people staying at a hotel like ourselves. Ultimate California Pizza is just around the corner from The Dayton House‘s parking garage and had much better reviews and the food was great.))Lastly a huge bonus for me personally was that the parking lots were super accessible for my car being as low as it is, especially with the inclusion of a small parking deck to keep it covered during the rain the night before the car show (my friend with a cracked windshield also appreciated that! Lol)Overall, my girlfriend, my friend, and I, all had a very pleasant weekend and the Dayton House Resort and their staff was a big help in that. We had a great experience and we have already decided that when we come back to Myrtle Beach that will be the place we stay again!

We sure enjoyed staying at Dayton Resort. Good place to relax and walk for miles on the beach! We love our ocean front balcony, mini kitchen, perfect pool temperature, hot tub, free hot breakfast, and the hotel has an outdoor yummy food/beverage reasonably priced by the pool. Walking distance to the boardwalk and shops. We especially love being able to enjoy the sunrise from our bed and oceanfront dining everyday (whether it is from the free hot breakfast or cooking our own meals :) Truly resort atmosphere if you want to stay put and relax during your vacation.

Great time and good Covid policyconcerning the times. Room was quite clean and room staff made sure not to be in rooms while you were as well as elevators. Grat run hotel overall.

Very disappointed with the rooms cleanliness or lack of it. With the current pandemic going on I like to feel that extra cleanliness is important I didnt get that. Sadly this was my last stay there

Great place! Rooms clean & maids are trustworthy & clean every day. Lazy River rocks! Even had a DJ! My hubs loved the free breakfast - bacon, sausage, real eggs! Centrally located. All these little things really add up to a fantastic stay.

Short of noisey neighbors on both side the suite was amazing overlooking the beach and thumbs up for their covid efficiency. Breakfast could have been better but the individuals serving were kind and very nice.

First time staying at this resort. I would highly recommend. The pictures were spot on when I was looking for a nice resort to stay at. This is by far the best weve stayed in since vacationing in Myrtle Beach the last 20 years. Wish I would have found it a lot sooner. This is our families got to resort from here on out.

This hotel is in a great location. The room was clean and stocked. And they also have free full course breakfast prepare for all their guest from 7-10am. In the restaurant across from the hotel. It is very delicious!

We have enjoyed 4 visits to the Dayton House,we in times of Covid,they did a great job 4.5 in my book.

We booked a room for a vacation for May 17-19, 2020 and paid for it.due to the corona virus we could not go on vacation and it was also not possible to enter the usa from germany, which everyone knew!Since then, Ive been trying to get my money back, its about 200 euros.I sent 12 emails without getting a reply.We tried to call the hotel several times, but after several calls in the hotel, they just hung up!We have never experienced anything like this in our usa travel and it is really very disappointing, especially at the moment!you can see that the hotel is only concerned with getting the customers money!the dayton house is unfortunately not recommendable at all!very bad service .....I will now get help from a lawyer

Good hotel & good service. My first time being at this resort. Feels like it’s right in the middle of the strip. I got the last room on the top floor facing the road with an angle view of the ocean and that was LOVE, being able to see a little of the city and the beach. Had a blast as always, looked like the hotel could use a little revamp, but room was pretty clean and the strip was lit.

Ive been here for one night and check out tomorrow.Rooms are nice and clean.Breakfast is a big plus..except you must walk across the street and another field to get it.Hallways and elevator are hot and humid. And the lobby could use a big upgrade. Its really outdated. But those were minor issues.I do recommend the Dayton House Resort Myrtle Beach!

Friendly staff. They allowed me to check in early. Room was clean and the AC was cold. Comfortable mattress and pillows. The pool and the tiki bar area was very nice. Free parking and breakfast. Location was great. I would visit again.

Best hotel Ive stayed at in a long time. Great options for swimming with multiple hot tubs both indoor and outdoor pools which are heated as well as a heated lazy river. Also love the fact that they have their own restaurant for breakfast which is included in your stay.also the poolside bar and snack bar

I know experiences may vary, but for my family Dayton House Resort was amazing. Our suite was clean. We were able to have an early check in. Our breakfast was delicious. And the views from our room of the beach and ocean were beautiful. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. Just a tip though, check with the hotel before using another booking site. They might have better rates than booking.com or travelocity.

We stay here every year. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always eager to accommodate. The Rose room has a friendly staff and good food. Our favorite spot is the Yellow Umbrella bar/grill. Great food, delicious drinks, fun environment, and awesome staff. Rarely have an issue with parking either. Would highly recommend.

The Dayton House Resorts was a little outdated but very clean and had no smell, the staff were inviting, friendly and helpful, the resort is in a perfect location... The price was fair but is off set by a $17 a day resort fee, a $100 incidental hold on your card and a $60.00 late check out fee that is optional of course. The room came equipped with a mini kitchen that included the works ( microwave, stove, small full refrigerator, cooking utensils, dishes and cleaning supplies). There are plenty of pools and hot tubs to choose from, breakfast is served in its own building and there was plenty of parking, everything is in a small walking distance. All though our balcony was located in the north building facing the mid building we had a perfect view of the pool and beach. Everything was great but my fiance and I did not like the comfort of the beds or the very low hot water pressure.

This hotel was the nicest Ive ever been to. The pool was incredible. The view was even better!!! The breakfast comprised of classic southern staples (like grits and corned beef hash) and was to die for! The service was great and the amenities seemed endless. Perfect 10/10 for me, I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

Replaced broken A/C less than 30 minutes after we called the front desk! Friday DJ by the pool with family friendly dance contest was so much fun. Great pool and beach access. Planning next years stay already.

We had a great time here! The pools and tanning yard were perfect. Access to the beach was easy. All of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. Because we came during the pandemic the breakfast was modified as they could not do buffet. It was still very tasty, just not as many options as usual (based on other reviews I’d seen). The location of the hotel is great. The balcony overlooking the ocean was perfect! The next time we come to Myrtle Beach I will definitely be looking to book here again.

Early check in wasn’t available but the staff(Hatti) Was able to Accommodate us with an early check in. we where here a whole 5 hours early, it wasn’t a problem. We also where able to cancel one room that was booked in give us a room for the next day instead. Great customer service and hospitality

This was an amazing resort. We will be back. There were so many repeat guests there when we were there. We met lots of friends. The management team was amazing and the The Yellow Umbrella staff was AWESOME! We will be back! It was such a wonderful experience!

The rooms are definitely a lot nicer that the looks of the rest of the facility. We were hesitant at first because the halls look pretty beat up. Elevator did not work on our floor if we needed to go up or down, had to use the stairs to the next floor and go from there. Housekeeping was good. Breakfast is included but we only tried it once,, pretty gross and did not seem very clean. You had to go across the street for it also. Its odd that there are three separate buildings and you basically have to park across the street in an open lot because the parking garage cannot accommodate anything larger than a small car. It was right on the water which was awesome and easy access. They also have a bar at the one pool which was nice. I dont think I would stay here again for the fact that its a bit of a walk to the shops and restaurants that we like.

The pool chairs are old and need to be replaced. Looks bad.Update the rooms. It wouldnt take much. Everything else was really good. Our room view was gorgeous. We want to take friends there and go again but this stuff needs done so we will be proud to show them. All the people are friendly that we were around. The music at the pool in the evening made the trip exciting. Had the best music for the group of people and the DJ was funny and entertaining. Night walk on the beach seemed to be all friendly people and good beach for families. We loved it.

The only thing good is the customer service. My room that I paid almost $500 for was nothing like the photos online. There was a roach in the bathroom and the room smelled horrible. I drove far for 3 day and 3 night stay for my birthday to relax. I would suggest not to waste your money at this hotel.

Good location, room was good, limited breakfast but was good. Kitchen pans etc limited to cook with. Views were great. Staff was very nice.

This place was clean and well kept. Only one elevator was working so was aggravating but we made it work. Beautiful views and nice pools. Just dont like staying on this end of the beach. So much noise and so many wild people. North end is more laid back just more expensive. Id still stay again, just in the off season.

Breakfast was basically the same with no variety. Location was good. Pool side bar was good. Loud trucks cruising at night on 10/16/20 ruined last night of stay. Management was of no help and claimed he didn’t know there was a small wiener truck convention happening.

Newly renovated but you wouldnt be able to tell. The rooms are clean, spacious and every employee is down to earth.Everything you would expect and more is here. The property has four buildings, three of which are on the same side of the street - all are a VERY short walk to the beach with a private grass area prior to the dunes which allows for seating/eating.Multiple pool areas including indoor/outdoor pools and a lazy river are included. Breakfast is also served but limited (due to COVID).Nice 55 or so HDTV. Cold A/C. Nice shower. Large vanity mirror/sink area. Full kitchenette in our suite including fridge/freezer combo and more.Parking is in a surface lot with limited spaces next to each building, or overflow in a garage a short block away.Entire property felt safe and secure. Highly recommended for anyone. (We were a family stay.)

We had an excellent experience. Very clean rooms, convenient location. Breakfast food was great, even with COVID restrictions in place (takeout only). Parking was easy and plentiful.

As we leave this beautiful suite resort we are saddened to say goodbye. The staff was so friendly from the bartender to the security guard to the maids. Every single staff member I met asked me how was I liking my stay and to let them know if they can do anything to make us feel more at home and welcomed here. I even had a staff member help me at 12am in the morning to see if I left a bag at the pool. They were so helpful. The room was super clean and had everything in the pictures like they said they would. Thank you so much Dayton House resort for making this vacation so beautiful and memorable.

This place was magical for our honey moon! Rooms where clean, breakfast was good. Pools were great!

Checked in, took a look at the room which was a suite and it smelled horrible. All the furniture and appliances were old and outdated it looked nothing like the pictures online. The best part of the day was them letting us check right out with a full refund after looking at the room!

Even during the pandemic this place was appreciated, clean, friendly and kind staff. Beautiful views on the beach front and planty for kids to do! Pools/hot tubs/lazy river and even a DJ party made it fun, plus a poolside bar.

It was okay. I have had better experience at other hotels in myrtle beach before. A friend told me that they had stayed and liked the hotel. I thought that it would wow me when I got there it did not happen.

We stayed from Sept.2 -Sept.7...We had such a great & relaxing time!So many pools & hot tubs and a lazy river to enjoy!!And the beach view is beautiful!!Wish we could of tried the sauna,it was out of order.Met some really nice people!!Everyone was really nice & we all gave each other our distance....in this new so called normal social distancing

First of all the rooms aren’t clean. Our pillowcases had hair from the previous guest. The bathroom was just awful. The toilet paper that was in the room was half way used. That’s not sanitary at all. The tissue box was also open & looked like it had been used before. The toilet seat felt like it was going to break if someone set on it. When I made my reservation I stated I wanted one king bed and we got two queens instead. I thought this resort was like the rest where they have the apartment like rooms but it’s not. Also on my reservation email it didn’t state which floor or room we would be getting and so when we got there we got out on the second floor. Second floor!!!! Everything was so loud to the point where we couldn’t sleep well even though it’s stated that the pool is only open until 10:30 there was still people in the pool at like midnight. Breakfast is offered but you have to walk across the street to a restaurant to get it. The laundry they offer is across the street aswell. We stayed in the north building where parking was a hassle too. The laundry was super dirty and didn’t offer any coin change machine. You’d think that for $900 that they charged me for each room they’d at least include the laundry in unit but no. Overall it wasn’t the best experience ever. I will never stay here again.

Nice resort but need a little touch up with the cleaning upon checking out looking to make sure we didnt leave anything behind, it was paper and tissue under the beds and the room had a little foul smell. Other than that our stay was great the kids love the pool and the beach was footsteps away. We will return very soon!

Excellent services!!! Haiti was exceptionally nice and helpful. She went above and beyond to help accommodating our needs. I would have given this resort a 5 stars if the resort update the followings: New paint, new furniture and flooring.

Highly recommended! Clean room, front desk knew me by name. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday, then decided to stay till Friday. Rates are super reasonable and had no problems while there. In a great spot walking distance to the strip where food bars entertainment are located. Definitely would stay again.

Nice staffs love the view. i loved the lazy river. It was so nice i suggest you to go at 7 or 8 it dose close at 10. the reason i tell you to go atthe night time because there is less people. And you can relax while the water hits you in the face.

Had an excellent view of the ocean. The suite had a bedroom, full kitchen with everything but the food. Had a living room area with another flat screen TV and a very comfortable pull out bed. Nice balcony and the housekeeping staff were very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend.

I called many times, but I could never get anyone on the phone to cancel my reservation. When I finally got Tasha, the manager, on the phone she fixed everything. This was out 11th year at Dayton House. This trip was not as enjoyable as in years past. The property is very dated and rates are overpriced. The overwhelming smell of weed filled the hallways and the room was even worse. It took two days to air out the room, even with air freshener spray. The front desk and room service were perfect, but not sure that would be enough to get us to return. So sad to have such a long run at a resort to have to find a new place. Its gone down hill every year for about the last 5 trips.

It was a nice room, loved balcony view, had side view of ocean. Had a nice time, hallway was hot no ac in hallways just windows open, but it was a nice stay, i would stay again, parking was a little pain, due to so many people, decent free breakfast too!

Great view of the ocean. We loved our stay with all the amenities. One thing that was not satisfactory was the spotty WiFi on the fifth floor.

Clean hotel! Dated but also remodeled. Fantastic View. Would visit again. I wish the beds were closer to the balcony side instead of closer to the door side. Bathroom in the kitchen was strange, but it worked.

I really liked my room and the amenities. Great area to get that sun tan. Each set of chairs had their own umbrella and trash pail. I really enjoyed it.

This place has proven to be very competitive. They keep making improvements around the entire resort. Its clean, courteous staff. Unfortunately their free breakfast needs a lot of improvement and one of their hot tubs was not working properly nor hot enough, Nevertheless, we enjoyed very much our stay and would recommend this place to everyone.

Building smelled weird, elevators weren’t air conditioned so it was extremely hot and muggy. Air condition in the room BARELY worked. Room was OK, fairly clean. It definitely has a dingy vibe overall. The parking was inconvenient. The location was nice with easy access to the beach.

We had a wonderful experience at the Dayton House. We have already discussed coming back. We do wish the poolside bar stayed open later than 6 and that the DJs were there longer as well. Other than the balcony being wet from the ac water and the pool lights not working our stay was still a 5 star all the way. The front desk was helpful and kind so were the housekeeping staff. Our view was amazing.

Enjoyed my stay at The Dayton House. The poolside DJ and Tiki Bar were fun and entertaining. It has easy beach access and was walking distance to Kirks Ice Cream. The staff was friendly and courteous. My suggestions to the resort were better cleaning of the shower area and more variety in hot breakfast options. Overall, great value for the money and I would stay here again!

Place doesnt look as renovated as the pictures but good size room, clean, and great location. Friendly staff and good prices.

The hotel was decent. I didnt care for the set up with the limited parking by the building. I also would prefer not having to walk across the street for breakfast. I expected more from what I saw in the pictures on the site. To me it felt like an updated motel. I feel like a little more should be put into updating the hotel...perhaps its the building we stayed in. There was peeling paint on the balcony. Thats such an easy fix so not sure why it was like that. The room was clean, and staff friendly so I do appreciate that, but I will be looking for a different hotel when I return.

With 3 pools and a lady river. This place is great for a family and friends vacation. Bars and grills available at some pools. Room is nice and gets the job done. Great place.

Had a great experience on our mini vacay at Dayton House Resort. Robert and Steven at the yellow umbrella were kind and efficient with our order each time. Had a great laugh or two with them as well. Made you feel like family. Even the groundskeepers/maintenance men Mark and Keith were friendly and helpful in answering any question I had. Thank you all guys for making my birthday vacay the best one yet! Loved our room as well, the view was spectacular, and even the hot breakfast was served safely by the staff and was yummy too!

This was my family’s 2nd time staying here. Unfortunately this stay was nothing like our first...while getting settled into our room my 5 year old noticed the smell of urine coming from the sheets, so we requested clean linen. We received the linen in a timely manner, but upon us changing it we noticed that it was because the mattress itself was stained from urine. Also, later that night we discovered that one of the couch cushions was covered in dried white stains on one side, of what looked like possible body fluids. I feel like housekeeping should have caught this, especially when there is a pandemic cleanliness should be top priority!

Very clean, they said the hotel was completely renovated recently and it is true. The staff was extremely nice. Breakfast included was a big plus! Maybe the best hotel experience Ive had in Myrtle, and we come down once or twice every year for the last 20 plus years. We will stay there again.

Loved it here!! Came here with boyfriend, it was clean, not crowded, affordable, nice pool and right on the beach. We will definitely be back. Had a king sized ocean view room on the 2nd flr def suggest

The place is actually quite nice! But when room service came they out of no where told us that the guest needed to notify the front office in order for them to change our sheets which was kind of crazy to us, bc all of the hotels that we have stayed change the sheets everyday no matter what. Besides that it was a nice place they unfortunately did not enforce any rules for the usage of the pool, so every time we would pass by a bunch of people were in the small pool. The beach is just a couple of steps away which is nice!

I loved all the amenities and the room, but not happy with the resort fee charged daily. it is just another way to get more money without raising the room rate. Everything should be included in the room rate.

Sorry I couldnt get my room because they can not accommodate me. I did know the fact that they just allow over people over 25. I drove all the way from NJ just to find out that they cant. They did not help me out at all. The cancellation was a disaster and now I am here with out place to stay. They just told good luck. Great way to start this small vacation. Please avoid this place!

We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of everything at this resort based on the price. The room was clean and neat. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pools and hot tubs were great. I definitely would recommend this resort and will be returning.

Room was clean and spacious. We were delighted to find a little kitchenette in the room. The larger fridge and oven were nice to have for a 3 days stay. I also liked the larger trash cans in the room. The hotel is conveniently located right on the beach. Starbucks, Ben &Jerrys, pizza place, and souvenirs shops were walking distance from it. Free breakfast was nice (scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, canned fruit, and breakfast potatoes), but it was the same thing for all 3 days that we stayed there. You do have to cross the street to get breakfast. All in all, we had a good time and the hotel offered good value for the money.

Great room and great views of the ocean from the rooms. They have a couple of pools of which one is a lazy river. There is a bar and a restaurant. However there is cigarette smoke wafting in from the other rooms. In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, many employees are not wearing masks.

This is a great place to stay! Rooms have been renovated and are really nice. Pools are great, clean, and warm. Right on the beach! Breakfast was great. Staff was all friendly. We have found the place we will be staying at from now on when we go on vacation!

Dayton House is Awesome. The price and amenities are affordable and quality. More importantly, the staff is great.. When you go see Mrs. Hattie at the front desk, shes the one with a smile and all the info youll need for a great Vacay!!

Its a great hotel that doesnt break the bank, the staff is very friendly and more then happy to assist with any issue accommodations are very nice, the maintenance staff are incredibly friendly and always running around trying to make everyones stay better, in particular there is a very tall gentleman whom I presume is some type of supervisor who incredibly friendly and welcoming and happily assisted myself and anyone who requires it.

Wonderful stay! We stayed Wednesday through Friday in August. The rooms were clean and spacious. A lot of restaurants were within walking distance. The beach is just steps away. Unlike a lot of other restaurants, they are providing complementary breakfast inspite of covid19. Someone fixes the plates and gives it to you.

My husband and I stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon! I really loved being right next to the ocean! We had a side view room. The only complaints we had were the drains on the shower/sink were clogged so whenever we used them they filled with water fast. Also we were concerned for future residents that are older—the tub would not be very easily accessible for an elderly person. They’d definitely have a slip and fall situation. Other than that no complaints!

Me and my fiancé stayed at this hotel in Myrtle beach and we were very pleased!! The staff was very nice and professional. John was very helpful and made sure our room meet our standards! I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next beach getaway!!!!

Hotel and majority of staff was great, however, one of the clerks had messed up on my discount and I was expecting a refund upon checking out and ending up owing the hotel money. I do not believe that customers should be responsible for employee mistakes. All of the employees should be trained the same way and should all know what discounts to give or not give.

Love our room and the amenities. Mega comfy beds and sheets! The poolside DJ and drumline during the afternoon was a really fun and entertaining surprise!

I absolutely loved the view. Very nice hotel, friendly staff.... free delicious breakfast. Easy parking and laundry. The sauna n hot tub so relaxing and amazing... will be staying again without the teens next time... it was so peaceful and relaxing... room was exactly like the photos

Booked the Oceanview room. Checked in and our room was on the side. They also have an option for side angle ocean view which I assumed we were mistakenly given. Asked the front desk and she stated that Oceanview and angle view are the same and if you want full on frontal ocean view you need to choose the oceanfront. Why is there a specific option for side angle if its the same as Oceanview. She was extremely rude also.The check-in and check out process was quick and easy.Parking was a little difficult at times. They should have assigned parking.Breakfast was nice. Friendly staff.Ocean access was close. They have a couple of pools and hot tubs which is nice to bounce back and forth.Room was okay. A little dated.

We have been staying at Dayton House since 1997 and love it. Great place and would recommend it to everyone.

Bathroom was not cleaned, the towel they gave us was dirty we had too be moved too another room, that room was clean way better but it was on a lower floor then what i ask for when I payed for the room. Free breakfast I didnt enjoy it.

The room was small, but we had everything we needed. The cleaning staff did a great job every day.

The place is old, nasty and dated. The only good thing is its location. I am not sure how it received 3 stars..I reported the Hispanic older woman that was working the door at the restaurant for breakfast. She was not following social distancing and was allowing so many people inside at the restaurant at same time. I would horrified. I will never stay at this place ever again..

I stayed at this hotel for what was suppose to be for 4 days but i left 2 days later because of how bad it was. It doesn’t look anything like the pics. It looks raddegy and poor. The sauna was out of order, the pool didn’t have chlorine in it and it wasn’t blue, it was a blueish green color. The elevators were dirty, the doors were small. The TV in the room was a size 32 inches. It was hell. I checked out 2 days prior cause it was that bad. I would not recommend this hotel which should probably be a motel.

This was my fist time visiting Mytle Beach and we chose to stay at Dayton House Resort. My fiancé and I LOVED everything about Myrtle Beach beside the hotel very disappointing.Needs a UPDATE ASAP beds was terrible. My Fiancé could not sleep due to the beds being very uncomfortable. I really felt like I was at motel 6 and im paying hundreds of dollars to stay at what I thought was a Resort. I WILL NEVER STAY OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY AT THE DAYTON HOUSE RESORT!!!!!!!

Fantastic and very affordable especially when using priceline and the best part is its in the better part of Myrtle Beach, just bought another night!!! And will definitely be back!!!
