The guided tour was wonderful and informational. The amount of extravagance and opulence was incredible and I would absolutely recommend visiting. Thank you very much for the fun and amazing time.

This place is great!! If youre going to Mobile dont miss it. The intricate work on the costumes you need to see in person.. and the guided tour is fabulous.

We loved it! The stories we heard were very interesting. The displays are gorgeous. The staff there was very knowledgeable.

Absolutely enjoyed our visit. Fascinating museum that tells the story of Carnival in Mobile. The staff was wonderful and offered other suggestions of where we could eat and visit while we was in Mobile.

Im not big into mardi gras, but a friend had a birthday party here. They let us walk around to see the museum and it was pretty interesting to see the history of mardi gras. I enjoyed it

I love this place. The heritage of Mardi Gras in Mobile is great. I really loved all the Queens and Kings clothing from years ago.

We took the tour for five dollars a piece, it was worth it. The tour guide was super informative, and an impressive display of Mobile royalty. Two thumbs up, it turned out to be a great time killer, before the Mardi Gras parade started.

Peggy is an amazing hostess! Super friendly and accommodating! I would go back just to see her! The museum itself was nice. I did a self guided tour, mostly without audio. I got lots of amazing pictures and videos. I went late, so I rushed through. I spent about 45 minutes in total there. I would go back though just to experience it more leisurely.

Loved it. Super friendly the costumes were amazing. We loved it there. The only Negative was we didnt plan enough time there. So plan to spend time chatting with staff and checking out the entire place.

You cannot miss this museum! It was so interesting and the costumes were out of this world. We had a private tour and he gave us a detailed account of the Mardi Gras history and culture in Mobile.There is also a clear explanation of the mystic societies that date back to 19th century. The masqued balls, the parades, the costumes - all these traditions continue today.We saw some unbelievable King and Queen attire, a video presenting the court, elaborate (and coveted) invitations to the masqued balls.There is also a float you can stand on and pretend you are throwing beads to the thousands of people that line the parade routes up to 3 weeks before Ash Wednesday.I will say this again: this is a MUST SEE museum on your visit to Mobile.

Nice experience for a couple of hours if you want to learn about origins of the festival. Lots of focus on the beautiful costumes worn by the kings and queens of mardi gras. Two people cost 12 bucks with free parking right next to building.

We came to the museum for some Mobile culture and culture we got. The train for the costumes were incredible the tour guide was so Informative. Our guide was Craig. Craig if you are out here I forgot my picture with you but I got all the other stuff. I truly appreciate Mobile Alabama Mardi Gras history.

A wonderful museum with so much Mardi Gras history. Informative, friendly staff. Free parking on premises, gift shop and restrooms. Easy to find from main roadway - ask about admission discount. Definitely a must see when in Mobile!

Well worth the trip, be sure to take the guided tour. Mr. Roberts is an entertaining guide, very amusing; best of all you will know what you are looking at.

Great little museum! We have been to Mardi Gras parades before. Now, we learned the back stories to the societies and the history of Mardi Gras. Awesome exhibits and very friendly knowledgeable staff. Would love to see where the floats are made! Dont forget to ask about Ralph !

Interesting guided tour Staff invested in Carnival.

A beautiful old house filled with the history of Mardi Gras in Mobile. If you go, be sure to wait for one of the volunteers to give you a guided tour rather than just walking through. We learned a ton of cool history on our last visit from our guide!

This place was pretty cool. Lots of history and crazy costumes! Great for class field trips or just to take a day away from the rest of the city. Guided tours are available in addition to the ability to explore this giant house all on your own. Dont miss the Striker goat!

Closed and the reviewing stand for the Mardi Gras Parade was half empty yet it was fenced off so my handicapped wife and I couldnt use it for viewing. We went home disappointed

Educational and fun. I was up from Florida with a group of 35 from the Travel is Fun travel club. I dont remember our docents name, but he was both entertaining and thoroughly knowledgeable. Overall a great experience.

So much fun. Its a lovely building and the exhibits are thoughtfully arranged. Well worth the price of admission. Film is worth seeing too!

From the moment we entered the door, we were very happy with our experience. With our AAA discount we paid $12 total for two adults. Staff very friendly and helpful. Displays were beautifully set up and there was a lot of information available. We had the option to take a guided tour, but opted for self-guided instead. You can either call a number and enter the display # to hear about that display, or can scan the QR code. The prices in gift shop were very reasonable. I highly recommend.

Just wish prices were a little lower. I enjoyed the tour and my husband was dying from cancer but he wanted to see this place. He enjoyed what he could. He was in pain but endured this experience.

I visit this place many times a year. Ive taken children on school field trips, attending receptions and other parties. My favorite year of multi-visits was the year I was compiling ideas for my own train.Love this place. Lets hear it for Judy!

The festive atmosphere with its beautiful brick architecture will remind you ofNew Orleans in the French Quarters. Take a walk back in time through the museums visual tribute and view trains and mantels of past Mardi kings and queens. Definitely worth seeing.

Lots of outfits. Some history of Mardi gras. Somewhat uncomfortable when you consider possibility of what some of the mystic groups were about. Not really into it. Seems like excuse for debauchery. Your guide was pushy/rude.

If youre interested in seeing every costume from the queen and king for every year Mardi Gras has been around, this place is perfect. Only a small area dedicated to the floats. Cute place. The gift shop is outstanding though, with great prices.

Who knew there was more to Mardi Gras than catching beads and moon pies! Very interesting place to visit. Even my friend who lives in Mobile learned a few things about the history of Mardis Gras in Mobile.

What a great museum! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. I now have an understanding of Mardi Gras history and how the crewes work. I loved seeing the Queens gowns and trains!

This place is a gem. Great tour and great tour guide (local author). Mardi Gras is very steeped in culture here..between the old families and the mystic crews. The costumes and stories were astounding. The money and time and tradition that go into the costumes, 19 parades, and huge balls are just astounding. Very valuable collections. Highly recommend as a family activity. No lewdness here..just a fun museum.

Great history lesson about Mardi Gras very interesting

I had out of town guests from Denver and Tulsa. It was hot and drizzly so I suggested we go to the Carnival Museum. These girls are all “prissy” and love fashion and fancy clothes. Well, they loved the Carnival Museum and they were amazed at all the history and unique tidbits about Mobile Mardi Gras. Our tour guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable about the history of Mobile as well as the history of Mardi Gras. I highly recommend taking out of town visitors here. The gift shop is a lot of fun too.

We really enjoyed our visit from the moment we entered. Very warm and friendly reception from the woman who sold us our tickets and started us on the self-guided tour. This tour was done using our phone as we keyed in the number of the display. A large room has a couple of floats and characters you can pose with (your face displayed in the cut-out). There are several floors and an elevator. The gowns, trains, tiaras and costumes are gorgeous. There are many interesting photos from the long history of Mardi Gras in Mobile. Restrooms are available and a nice gift shop.

Our family came here today while on vacation and we were blown away by all of the history and the beauty of the exhibits. Ms. Longworth was absolutely superb as our tour guide. We would recommend to anyone in the area!

This place was AWESOME!!!! Lots of history about Mardi Gras and tons of neat little souvenirs. We had our Emblem Brunch for our organization here and I couldnt imagine having it anywhere else!!

The museum is informative but doesnt acknowledge the separate but equal times that led to the different associations. If that history was provided, itd be an accurate tell of Mardi Gras history in Mobile. There is some MAMGA paraphernalia and information however. The staff are friendly and do their best to make all feel welcomed. Its a charming little place.

So much more detailed than I expected. Great information, displays and guide. Definitely recommend a visit to learn about the cultural importance of the Mobile carnivals!

Try to catch a tour which will be much mor informative. The museum was more interesting than expected. Most of the exhibits are about the insanely expensive robes, tiaras, etc of the parade elite over the years.

This place is Ah-mazing! The history of Mardi Gras is explained in detail. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any question. The costumes, frowns and trains are absolutely beautiful. A must see! There is a great hands on section for kids and kids at heart. The gift shop is filled with wonderful Mardi Gras Memorabilia and trinkets. Dont miss out this Mobile treasure.
