Well done statues of Clark and York, Clarks lifelong slave. I love the history given about York on plaques around his statue, and its a great touch that the statues are looking at each other (Clark gesturing, York looking). A great view of the river from where the statues are as well.

A pleasant park running water and shade if needed and a great view over the Ohio river

One of the most important statues/landmarks in Louisville. York was one of the most important members of the Lewis & Clark expedition (despite not being counted officially due to his status as a slave, his opinion was still valued and his skills were appreciated). Located at the Belvedere (my favorite downtown getaway), not far from the George Rogers Clark statue in the same part of the Belvedere. There are four plaques on the ground surrounding the York statue, explaining his early life, role on the expedition, and his unfortunate life after. Every visitor to Louisville should see the statue of this great man.
