My son and I decided to go for a walk. We started around 40th and walked to the park. We found a bench off to the side, below a big beautiful tree. We sat, talked, enjoyed the breeze, and each others company. Park is clean.

I grew up coming to this park. There is plenty of space for all kinds of activities. Basketball, football and trail walking are some that I highly recommend. This is one of the best parks in Louisville Ky.

Grass needs cut in some places that over a foot tall. Overall the park appeared fairly clean and did not have too many people.

Nice place to enjoy family time

There is a sense of tranquillity peacefulness about it. I seen people sitting in the park reading the Bible kids being kids by playing together. The landscape is beautiful the trees the cut grass the wind blows.this is something we all need just to lay back on the grass close your eyes and think about something. What a beautiful thing God has created for all of us to enjoy.

This used to be a great place in Louisville it could use a little bit of gentrification

Its large plenty sights to see. I had my remote controlled truck there with friend good time

Very peaceful and quiet, was able to eat lunch with a friend and enjoy the day.

Nice sized park... if you see all of the tire Marks in the parking lot thats from cars and motorcycles ripping it up (burning out/ drifting)...

It has amazing areas and great views.

The ohio river is here in the woods, with a paved road going to it and around the entire park. Its decent here. They got water fountains which is GREAT!

I live very close to this park but have never visited until last weekend and I must say its beautiful! Love the road/path thats all along the Ohio river! Very clean and just a nice place!

A great place to get a free covid-19 test. Results in 4-5 days.

Drove thru to get COVID19 tested. From what I saw of the grounds in the short amount of time it took to drive thru for testing; I will return to spend more time there. The park I saw was well manicured and clean.

I practically grew up there, used to play 6 man football in the explorer league, played one season with the Hornets in the old Lenny Lyles league and two Juice Bowl (74&75 ) did a lot of socializing and just plain ol hanging out meeting people and making friends. It truly was the place to be in the early 70s. Still go there with my wife to have lunch . Sadly I have noticed that not very many people take advantage of the natural beauty of this great place anymore .

Its my park .I grew up down the street from it .Alot of history at that park .

Great place to walk

I went for a run here a couple of mornings ago and I was really pleasantly surprised with how clean this park is. Compared to some that Ive been to around the city this one is very nice. The loop around the park has a nice wide lane for runners and bikers and the basketball courts are very nice if thats more your speed. They have a playground for the kids and bathroom facilities on site.

Shawnee Park is Beautiful, theres nothing better than family Day. You look around and all you see is Family, Generations and generations, EVERYBODY just having fun. Enjoying good food and good music. I look around and I thank God, for My community, my Brothers and Sisters and all my love ones. The Dirt Bowl, the Gospel concerts. Movie Night..I could go On and On ...

Very nice park, but could make better use of its space and some sections are badly in need of renovation. This is also not the safest place during weekdays.

Big open spaces. Ohio River access and views. Riverwalk. Historic buildings. Basketball courts. Pedestrian walk loop.

Rode my bike over here on a beautiful sunny day. Smelled barbecue enjoyed good company play basketball and overall had a good time.

Great place for Black people to get along and Love each other.

Nice day to be in the park. Hot but breezy. Would great if it a pool. There is Splashground for the kids to get wet and play. Parking was rough later in the day because the Dirt Bowl tournament was going on lots of cars, but fun to watch.

West end the best end. Park your cars on Sunday are drive slowly through the park and talk with other park goers. Really a nice place to mingle.

The pump track is fun. Shaded, great flow on the river side. I need more skill for the other side.

New basketball courts and new swings and water park. Well lit and usually clean.

Fights breakout at this park with kids playing around! This park has a lot of gang activity and drug dealing goes on a lot at this park! Two females who was fighting came over to the pavilion was and started fighting while my family reunion was going on! The police is always riding around and walking around in this park looking for people selling drugs all over the park! This ghetto park is located in the heart of the hood! They call this the Hood Park and there is also stealing that goes on at this park! It was a shooting during the annual Juice bowl football games and two people was killed here! The dirt bowl basketball tournament they have is ghetto basketball players from the hood! This park is not safe for anybody to go to because there is no telling what can or might happen to you at anytime at this park!

Always a good day to sit back and watch the kids play t-ball!

Shawnee park is Kool. Back in the day U use 2 be able to thru it, park, play basketball, picnics, people that came in town for derby would drive thru. ITS changed now but its still beautiful.

The boys had a good time playing basketball

Its nice to sit out with your partner and watch all the people come through. The only thing they are missing is more places to sit without being in alot of grass. Other than that it is nice.

A great park with plenty of shade for reading a book, pathways to take walk, tennis courts and basketball courts also. Under renovations to make the park even more appealing.

Nice new Playground and spray area. Usually not heavily populated. However the adults here sometimes make it difficult to stay for long, things to look for (smoking on the playground, continuous profanities, water balloon fights involving random visitors and kids).

Good park to go to. I think park worker are fixing up the area down by the river so Fisher men can get to the river from there.

I love having a nice park close to home. I learned to drive in that park. So many nice school field trips. My family enjoys walking our dog and nature watching. And my son loves the numerous play areas.And Chickasaw Park is nice too. We love feeding the ducks :-)
