I love this place, its brought me a lot of joy. If it doesnt make it through covid Im going to cry.
We went to see Frozen 2. It was my 6 yr old daughters first time in a theater. We had soda, popcorn and candy. She loved it!I have two children and going out can be expensive but this was an Old School perfect place to have fun with my kiddo. Price Perfect. I hope this place never closes. Someone should get the ice cream and arcade idea back in building. Keep it cheap and much money can be made.
Very clean place and friendly staff. Prices were great. Movie was great. Popcorn in bags now I guess because of covid but overall was definitely a nice experience.
We saw Song of Names about a young violinist prodigy who disappears on the night of his debut concert. Critics did not give this movie a very high rating, which tells me to never pay attention to them.Excellent movie. Great cinematography and acting and plot. Best of all, Village 8 is very inexpensive! $12 to get in and popcorn and large water! Love this place!
Great place for value! Tickets are $3 and theater is usually fairly clean. Screens and theaters are small. Usually a good selection of popular movies, including childrens movies. It may take a while for them to show the more popular movies, and sometimes they rotate out pretty quickly. Its a great place to see movies if you are on a budget or dont want to pay outrageous prices at other theaters.
I have loved the Village 8 since I was young. Great movies at great prices in small, old school theaters. Concessions are very reasonable, the place is always clean and I never see any problems. Always a great experience!
A wonderful alternative to the overpriced and mainstream theaters- although you can usually count on the big movies to make it here, you can also count on the most obscure foreign films, quality films. We saw Parasite last night. Brilliant, funny, deep film from Korea about family and class. A couple of weeks ago saw a wonderful Israeli/Palestinian film. Grateful for this affordable gem in louisville.
Its very cheap staff is nice but chairs are hard and very uncomfortable.
I am so grateful for places like this where you can enjoy a movie on the big screen without paying an arm and a leg. Their delicious fresh popcorn and drinks are also affordable and service is very personable and present. Thanks, Village 8!
It is really nice to have a local theater like this. Most of the movies that are shown are somewhat new. The concessions are good. The price to view one of their movies is one of the lowest that Ive ever found. Depending on what day it is and what time it is, prices are usually between $2-$8. My family and I are from Georgia, and there are no theaters around that are as cheep as Village 8. Most average prices in Georgia are between $12-$18 per ticket. Its ridiculous! So from now on me and my family are going to keep coming back to Village 8, where we have a good time and save money !
My family had an awesome time at the movies. So thankful Village 8 Theater is very affordable & they have good concessions. The staff was especially, friendly today!
This theatre speaks to the essence of nostalgic beauty. It lays bare its appreciation for the art of cinema and the innocence of times past.
Same as it ever was, same as its ever been. A classic. I can still get a medium popcorn and a red slushie for $5 here! Beat that, any other theater! Highly recommend looking out for the 48 Hour Film Festival showings that are screened here in the summer. Very fun! Plus in October, sometimes they show old scary movies. In 2018 I saw The Shining on Halloween night! Gotta love the Village 8.
Will always love the Village for movies. Prices have dropped and popcorn is wonderful! So glad we still have a neighborhood theater.
One of the only oldtime theaters with regular seats. Great prices and the best Popcorn around. Just a nice old neighborhood atmosphere and hope it can be around a lot longer.
Great no frills movie theater. Not crowded on Saturday night. Two tickets for $8. Very affordable concessions.
I love this place. So economic and fair-priced. Sure it’s a no-frills joint but I honestly prefer the homey feel of it all. It’s all worth it for the $2 Tuesdays and cheap concessions. Buying tickets and snacks for two people will have you spending less than the amount of one ticket at normal price theaters. Definitely worth it
Two dollar Tuesday’s is the best night. Now where can you see a movie on the big screen for two bucks! Decent popcorn prices too.
Nice little theater needs a update but cheap prices
Great deals! Not only can you go to the movies for MUCH cheaper, but the concession stand is even less. You can have the experience of going to the movie theater just waiting a few weeks to see the film, but you can come here for much less!I do wish it was a bit cleaner and a little updated but I’m glad it’s still open and bringing in patrons!
Great. Quite a few years have pasted since my wifes and I visited last, it brought back fond memories. Fair prices, clean atmosphere, friendly service. Keep up the GREAT JOB.
Clean. Courteous staff. Shows good second run or classic movies.
Great value. Plenty of choices. More than adequate parking. Very convenient.
Price is Excellent. Movies are Great
Great value, fast moving concession line. Its a small, no frills theater (no reclining seats but there is a cup holder at every seat!) that is one of the best values in town. Glad this place is still around, at least for now. It was rumored to be closing the end of last year because the property sold. Hopefully it stays for many more years to come.
Crate for a low budget a little late to watch theater. Also carry lots of Indie movies and local Film Festival shows and sketches. Its well worth $3 to go in and see a movie thats a little past its prime but not out yet on the Netflix. The seats are still the old original seats two very small theater with a smaller screen but its totally worth it and most the movies Ive seen there on a whim have been excellent especially the indie films that carry that a lot of places here do not. Great when youre on a budget even the snacks arent overpriced. Plus they have the best butter popcorn in town! Pretty great employees and I hope this place stays open for years and years to come.
Nice older theater to go see movies that have been released for a little bit. Save money on tickets and concession prices. No need to sneak in candy lol thier prices are great!
Always good. Wish they wouldnt close. Best pop corn in town!
Most of the time this place is great but we just drove over 20 minutes to get here and our kids were so pumped only to be let down that Frozen 2 will not be playing tonight. I understand things happen but the time was on their earlier today.
Affordable and good movies. Also like the Jewish Film Festival!
Small, cozy, personal. Clean. Had a great time for a great price. Grsndkids really liked also.
For an intimate movie viewing experience at a price you can’t beat, Village 8 is my go-to for catching movies I didn’t catch at larger theaters, as well as the occasional indie and foreign films that don’t premiere elsewhere!
Its a nice place. Good prices, but they need to update their seating.
Parasite is a great 2020 Academy Award movie! Staff is very helpful.
First time going here and had a very good experience. Went to see a movie on tues at 530pm and it only cost 2$ per person. Pricing here is amazing. They also have reasonable prices for sodas popcorn and extras. The inside was clean the bathrooms were clean too. The actual theater was kind of small and the seats are not the most comfortable but it is totally worth the price. Will be back.
Nice cheap Theater! Great prices on tickets and snacks.
I just love this old theater. Its a good time out with family.
Great price. The seats arent great, but definitely good enough for the price.
It was a great experience, at Village 8 Theatres. We went and watched Zombie Land Double Tap for $6.00. will go back when looking to have an evening out to watch a movie
Great theater to see a movie without spending a ton of money. The staff is always friendly.
Like an upscale Aldi. Has friendly helpful employees. Has plenty of high quality well priced specialty items that rotate in and out. Never know what interesting find youll run into each time you go.
Neat. Clean. Older style theater. Older style seating. More intimate feel. Saw first run matinee for $3. Concessions are less expensive than the big theaters. Enjoyed our movie viewing very much.
My visit was very enjoyable, twice this week. Once with a dear friend and again by myself. And the price was OUTSTANDING. Love this place.
This theater has been around for at least 30 years, perhaps more. I find the prices to be very reasonable at around $4 a ticket, $2 on Tuesdays. Nothing fancy here as far as the seating goes, but they’re relatively comfortable and the theater is very clean. I find that a large bucket of freshly popped popcorn with free refills at around six dollars is a real bargain. Their drinks are reasonably priced as well. Be sure to get your free refill of popcorn before 8 PM though, as that is when the concession stand closes during the week. The movies that they show here are timed so that once they are finished with the first run engagement they come to this theater. They also will show from time to time some eclectic movies that are not main stream, but very interesting. I have found that the staff is friendly and they do a good job keeping the theater and restrooms clean. The movie theater has plenty of parking and easy to locate. Several places to eat in the area if you choose to eat first before you go to the movies. One of my favorites is WW Cousins hamburgers just down the street.
Ive been coming here for 20 years. It remains exactly what it is intended to be; a budget friendly theater with both cheap tickets and cheap refreshments. An ideal place to bring the family. I cant remember ever having a bad experience and am pleased the place has managed to stay open despite the extra challenges facing smaller theaters today. I enjoy patronizing this place as its got a bit of history to it and I feel I am supporting a smaller business. $2 Tuesdays and $3 Thursdays! For seniors or military the tickets are barely over $4.
Awesome pricing, and theyve usually got that movie you didnt have time to see when it came out. Love love love everything from service to experience. Mng. Matt has been so kind to our family and other patrons weve seen.
Had a wonderful time with my family. Fast service. Clean restrooms. Clean lobby. Clean theater. We saw Ralph Breaks The Internet. I love the prices, very cheap compared to area theatres. It has that class theater feel. My favorite spot to take my son.
Amazing theaterPopcorn is the best Ive ever tasted. Prices family friendly. Have been going for over 20 years. I love this place
Great movies, snacks, excellent ticket prices. What more can you say...going again
I love the movies and especially the popcorn. It is the best in town.
I love this theater because its prices are the best for folks on a budget. Free refills on large popcorn and drinks. And clean bathrooms and seats. Its old school but still nice and the folks are polite.
So affordable! Quality isnt the top but for the price it makes sense. Employees are all nice and friendly too. Its a great way to see movies that have recently left theaters. Just saw The Wife there and it was great also :)
Price is Great! Went there in the 80s. Still the same.
Tuesdays are $2 so we take the kids then. The place hasnt changed in 20+ years but at least they are still there. Service is very friendly and the place is clean enough for how busy they can get, especially with young people working. Concession prices wont cost all your fingernails like other movie theaters do. Love that they prove the working teens and retired aged working people can still have excellent customer service.
Village 8 is a great place to catch a flick for cheap after it leaves most theaters. Tuesdays is two dollar night and a large Coke and popcorn will run you around $10. The staff is always fun and friendly as well. Unfortunately the actual theatre areas slightly small and antiquated but for the price, you really cant complain.
Great place to go watch a movie. Employees are friendly and ticket prices are not bad. Concessions are a little bit high.
You get what you pay for. $2 tickets= blurry out of focus movies, uncomfortable chairs, and questionable bathrooms. Makes u feel a little bit like u need to check the seats for bedbugs before u sit down. But like I said u get what u pay for....
$3.00 for seniors, $4.00 for adults. Hard to beat the price!
Good value but the popcorn is extra greasy
Be careful you should wear old shoes that wont stick to the floor... Years of spilled sodas
Best place to see a movie. staff very nice and helpful. Refreshments very affordable and tasted good.
Great, inexpensive movie house. The only complaint I have is that Im pretty sure the seating in the theaters is older than I am.
Great ticket prices. Best popcorn in town.
Always good deals on movies and a great place for family time.
Best place for value. I hope it stays open forever.
Good picos, good indie films, great prices and good popcorn.
Nice oler movie theater. Prices are pretty decent. Good place to take the kids.
Great Affordable Family Night. We often go the weekend because the movies are still relevant and its a great deal. You cant beat the price for tickets and snacks. Love the old school 90s look take me back to my 20s.
Great prices! Its a bit outdated and the theatre wasnt the most comfortable but I would reccomend this place because it is no frills and you get a lot for your money. I thought it was great that I got to watch the movie all by myself too! Their popcorn is way better than cinemark, more butter!
Great value for your money. They always have interesting movies.
I love this place. Clean, fun, inexpensive, and the special salt station - its my favorite. I always buy all-you-can-eat popcorn and go hard with the white cheddar salt. SO GOOD. Staff is always friendly. Great place to watch movies.
Best place for kids to be kids during kid movies at a good price.
Such a cool place! Sure its less glamorous than the huge stadium seating with all the flare. But its simple and youre able to see movies that have been moved from the main line theatres at a low cost all with the charm of the 1980s.
Village 8 is a very very good movie theater its just counted but you take the name and its up to updated its got the state of art state-of-art theaters the movies are at someone with a second run but who cares the prices are $2 on Tuesday and $3 on Thursday and $4 every other time plus other discounts based on your classification of age group but its really really good its the only movie theater than I know of that you can walk in and everything is level so its its a kick it takes care of the people that are on Walkers wheelchairs everything else is you got to go you got to climb the stairs or climb the steps and that is really really really hard for some people in wheelchairs Walkers and handicap pull up all wages it is and also it is it is very hard to walk up those steps in that but in the summer 2016 they are thinking about closing down Village 8 theater for whatever reasons to me I like Village 8 Theaters on a regular Patron economically wise
I love this place so much!
Love the two dollars movie nights. Am here almost every Tuesday! Great friendly service, huge popcorn tubs, not are luxury as some updated theaters but really nice for a local cheap movie.
Just a neat and inexpensive place to see a show.
Old style theater comfortable seats fair prices
Love It.Great Prices.Great Location.
Such reasonable movie ticket prices and concession prices. Only reason I did not say I loved it was because sometimes when the A/C kicked on in a quiet part of the movie, it could be difficult to hear the dialogue.
Quaint little old time theater experience. Love this place!
Best Deal in TownIf you cant make $2 Tuesdays, try $3 Thursdays. Friendly, helpful staff. Movies are a little late but look just as good.
$2 on Tuesdays with reasonably priced concessions. Cant be beat!!!
Love their movie prices...sears were awesome
Good place for a quick movie, old school theaters
Excellent always! Saw Late Night...great movie. Well done!
They need to bigger bathroom and update the theatre otherwise great service and workers
Very reasonably priced theatre. Popcorn and drinks are cheap as well. For the price you cant go wrong but dont expect recliners or mind blowing audio visuals.
Clean, comfortable, and great prices on tickets and concessions
Great little movie theater with very affordable prices. Reasonable prices on concessions too
Best theater for the price. Popcorn is great and the price is terrific. Love this place!!
This is a budget friendly Theater and yet I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean it was. Its not as big as some of the other theaters. Seats are the standard fare. Snack bar was amazing and you can get free drink refills.
Our go-to place for a movie. Great prices, hot freshly popped popcorn, and cherry coke!! What more could a person ask for??
Great theater! Amazing prices on tickets and snacks. Takes me back to the early 90s
