I will comment on Baxter Avenue is because I find it back to revenues and the Villager who are owned by the same owners or the company movies are all good they have Village 8 Tuesday was a Tuesday Tuesday was all day $2 Thursday $3 all day in the matinees of the same then at night its like $4 children at a certain age can get in me for something for nothing customer service is excellent the prices are excellent Mid City Mall is they call it is excellent prices are good reclining chairs Mid City mall and at the same time at the same time at least both locations is have won something in common that a lot of these other movies theaters dont have as you enter the property into the into the hallways and then to the movie itself everything is leveled level floors and when your using a walker or a cane a wheelchair you walk slowly I dont care if youre thin or heavy set are you young or old you having difficulty walking or if you have a sprained ankle or broken leg or something on the cast temporary as you call disability its a its good the floors are Level very very good service customer service
It was the cleanest movie theater that I have ever been in, and they have the most amazing black leather recliners. You can actually recline them and relax while watching the movie. Baxter Avenue Movie Theatre held this years The Louisville Childrens Film Festival which my son, his drama class and several other students from several different visual and performing arts schools was a contestant of. The award ceremony was also held there a week later. Alex and 2 other of his classmates, with their film Just A Joke came in 2nd place.
Was great to actually be able to go and see a no he again. It has been a long time. And getting to see an old favorite The Empire Strikes Back made it even better. 5 bucks for the movie and another 5 bucks for a huge fresh bag of popcorn. That was a great deal. Place was clean and maintained.
Me and my little grown woman went to see New mutants. And loved our time together.. the movie was good everyone was nice. And safety first as always..
The theatre was clean and very safe social distance and masks were enforced a very pleasant and safe experience. I will return.
Before I started going to Stonybrook this was my theater! Its a nice local theater with nice staff and fair movie ticket prices.
One of the best deals in town for a movie, popcorn, soda and comfortable reclining chairs, and they are doing an outstanding job handling social distancing in this COVID-19 atmosphere.
This place is AMAZING! Its a high quality theater in the heart of the Highlands. A hidden Jewel. The staff is professional young adults and the theater rooms/ chairs are very comfortable.
BEST theater in the area. The seats are great, the prices arent terrible, and its a very comfortable environment. 10/10
I really do not have any complaints about the look, cleanliness, seats, friendliness of the workers, and service. All of these were great. We came to see a children’s movie (3 adults and 5 children). We all try to do our best to take care the hearing of our children, but it is not the case in this cinema. The sound was sooooo loud for us adults I cannot imagine what it did to the children’s ears. The movie was nice but we did not enjoy it like we should because of the loudness. Such a relief when we got out of there! WHY does it have to be so loud? Isn’t there a standard of loudness required to preserve our hearing?
Mmm..movie popcorn for dinner
I liked the theatre because it was clean, the seats are all recliners and the experience was great. The movie price was a bit high for me, but that was my only issue.
A Highlands gem. Great movies, great atmosphere, simply the best movie theater in Louisville. Reminds me of the old Vogue Theater during its golden days. The Baxter brings back the concept of the neighborhood movie theater as a reflection of the neighborhood it serves. Its quirky, friendly, inclusive and safe. If a movie isnt at the Baxter, Ill wait and see it on Netflix....or the Village 8.
This is a great family friendly theater. The chairs are comfy and this isnt one of those over-crowded places. This is a great place to enjoy a new movie!
This cinema will surprise traditional movie goers, which is nestled in a nook just east of the popular Bardstown Road thoroughfare. Movie selections are comparable with major cinemas even if they are not available for extended periods. Snack lines are long: nothing to do with service, probably has more to do with the casual movie goer walking in 5 mins before the movie begins. That is to say that I have always been able to walk in on a whim and get a great view from one of the recliner seats for a movie of choice!Truly a great place to kick off date night, with all the food and drink options available within walking distance~
Beautiful movie house. Reasonably priced, however they had popcorn machine issues and it was only the first showing of the day. Not impressed. They do have a bar, that was interesting.
Never a bad experience. Clean, good movies, same food; and it’s a bit smaller for a more “homey” vibe. They even upgraded the chairs which is really nice. This place will always be a top favorite.
They have a great selection of movies throughout the year as well as showing of different arts performances. The theaters are smaller so all seats have a good view. The seats are the lazy boy style which is fantastic. The theater is kept very clean and the bar has a good selection.
The theater is a jewel! Best prices in town for both tickets and snacks, friendly staff, and updated theater rooms with reclining seats. A+
This is the best theatre in Louisville for so many reasons. Very well run, and the recliner seats are very comfortable. Its in the Highlands, which is a huge plus if youre looking to eat before or after the show.
Great time was had by all!
Purchased tickets ahead of time. Was not crowded. Was able to enjoy knives out in a comfortable setting
Great shows, great service and lots of activities every other day
Overall is a good experience. Kinda disapointed in the concession area. I love to have a coffee with my movie especially in the cooler months. I have noticed over the last several months either the coffee is not ready or we did not have time to make it or not going to make it have been some of the excuses. So I feel like it should not even be on the menu if it is not an option or another suggestion might be to have it in the bar as they do not seem to be as busy as the main concession.
Quaint & convenient location. Includes a mix of big box and lesser known features. Great place for a date!
The renovated seating makes for a great viewing experience. The recliners are almost too comfortable.
Easy to get to. Nice leather, reclining seats. Clean bathrooms. Not as cheap, price wise, as Id expect.
Nice large seats. Popcorn was good. Theaters not as nice as others in town but I really liked the atmosphere. Ill be back.
Great energy at this theater. Whats not to like? You can watch a great flick and have a bourbon...nothing wrong with that.
Love this theater. The entire facility is clean and inviting. In the theater there are comfy, reclining, seats (although I do wish they were heated since its freezing in there) and the prices are reasonable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Theres also a kiosk where you can purchase tickets if you have a debit/credit card so you dont have to stand in line. I didnt visit the concession stand so I dont have a review for it. The movie I intended to watch (Judy) was sold out, it was its opening night though but other than that I had a good experience.
I love you Gabriel and Gavan smh
Love the reclining seats! Makes watching the movies a lot more enjoyable! Been on two dates here and weve enjoyed it both times. Food/snacks are a bit pricey but its a movie theatre, so its expected.
Really great experience!! Nice chairs that recline. Clean and friendly staff
Nice. But theater was so full not too seats were together but they refunded our tickets so we will go again
Better than I thought it would be. Popcorn was not fresh, they were out of cherry coke. But they compensated which was good.
Every seat is the best seat in the house. The crowd is usually polite and well-behaved. I think the beer is a bit expensive. The popcorn 8s good, if you can convince them to put enough butter on it.
Good little theater showing a variety of films. Chocolates in bulk is a nice twist. There is a bar that I have never used, drinks are over-priced and who wants to get up and have to pee mid-movie? Additionally, employees are generally punk teens that can be rude, or maybe just not trained in proper customer service.
Grabbed a gift card. Dark and drewery inside, did not look very clean. The young girl, behind the counter, definitely did not want to be working. Could be a nice place-needs a lot of work.
What a great neighborhood theater... even better now with the new seating. And oh yeah theres even an adult drinks bar.
Hate to write a bad review because I like this place. However, I have a couple questions that are not addressed on the website and they do not list a phone number. The only number available has the sole purpose of listing movie times. Who on earth is CALLING to get movie times???? Its not 1993 anymore. Please join us in the new millennium.
Went to see Rocketman, great movie! Seats were comfy. Not too crowded on a Sat. afternoon. The theater was clean. Got a big tub of popcorn & it was refillable! We like the Baxter Theaters.
Always great place for a movie! Thanks for being so nice to the employees! Great job!
Really dig this place. Has a neighborhood feel. Clean. Not expensive. They show mainstream and independent first run movies. Love the reclining seats.
Please teach your young employees to be polite to people. Seems to be an ongoing problem on Tuesdays at your business. Especially young blond lady named Kari taking ticket stubs. As a 39 year old disabled veteran I should not have to put up with a young lady dismissing me when I ask a polite question. Not once, but twice. Please also enforce your policies with all customers.
This theater was clean, young friendly workers and comfortable, reclining seating. The cheap ticket prices are a bonus! Love going here with the kids and husband.
Nice theater with decent prices. Comfortable recliner seats.
Love Baxter Ave theater, I always come to this theater, great movies all the time, love the reclining chairs close to home & the employees are always very nice.
This theaters are lot affordable than Cinemark, and they also have comfortable recliner seats. If you are looking support local businesses in Louisville, do watch your movies here. You may not get the plethora of options, but this place is affordable, clean and comfortable. And you will be investing in local business which improves the local economy.
Its the movie theater I always go to. They have stranger movies than some of the other theaters in town which I like. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help or chat. The restrooms are always clean. And the best bonus of all is that they now serve alcoholic beverages including wine. And they have the amazing new climbing chairs which I happen to love. Sometimes they have some great events at this Baxter theater as well.
This place is great. Me and my wifes go-to theatre.
Good customer service. Fairly clean..
Nice theater...love the seating and its not too big
Great theater. Smaller and not usually too crowded! Affordable, not like the village 8, but still good. Great place to go to see a new movie!
I love this theater because the prices are reasonable, they have a Tuesday matinee special, the concessions are fresh and cheaper than the big chains, and the crowd skews older/quieter. Plus they have a bar!The only thing I dislike is that the reserved seating isnt universal across the auditoriums, or at least it wasnt as of my last visit seeing Midsommar in June. So sometimes you get to pick your seat and other times you choose when you enter the auditorium. Im sure theres a reason and its too minor an issue to complain about, but it would be nice if it was universal. The seats are great though, and they recline so its extremely spacious and comfortable.I also love that, unlike the big chains, I dont have to sit through 35 minutes of advertising to watch the movie. A brief selection of relevant trailers and the show starts. Its great!
I usually love going to this theater all the time. But today was not one of those days. The staff was rude, the manager or whatever he was made my boyfriend leave his backpack out in the lobby and then let several other teens waltz into the theater with their backpacks. I thought this was completely ridiculous. The manager was not polite and did not seem happy to sell us tickets. So whoever the manager and ticket person is on Tuesday needs to have a serious conversation about how to actually be nice and courteous to guests and customers.
Great theater. But... it’s perplexing to me that your not able to get beer or certain things at the concession stand after 7:00 other than the weekends. Movie theaters make money on concessions but apparently this place doesn’t mind. Great place, and I’ll continue to go, but if you want to make more money and please costumers then let them have access to everything you have to offer till at least for the 9 o’clock shows! I’m here at 730 and I can’t get a hotdog or a beer lol!
Love movies great bra n snack n game area
Seats are reclineable, relaxing and clean. No cellphone rings, crowd is small. Love the chairs and staff. Great place. Just wish their served polish sausages.
I love this theater! Friendly staff, nice reclining seats, lots of leg room so you don’t have to move when someone walks in front of you. Affordable tickets and the snacks aren’t extremely expensive compared to other theaters. Im giving them 4 stars because they only show certain movies.
Great place, theaters are a little small but thats alright. The amount of films that they show that arent in other theaters is amazing, I can always count on them showing my art house films at a reasonable price.
Nice employees, very comfortable reclining captains chairs, great prices
Beat seats. Best atmosphere. Great snack bar and beer, liquor, and wine bar.
Terrific movie theater. The only one worth a fig in Louisville. Made even better since theyve added leather recliners and a full bar!
This theater is one of my favorites, when Im in Kentucky.
Love this movie theater! The seats and popcorn! Its amazing in there!
Staff is always very friendly and I have yet to have a bad experience here. The chairs are super comfortable and make for an enjoyable viewing experience.
State of the Art Nice theater & very comfortable reclining seats
This is a movie theater with beer and reclining seats. How can you rate it anything other than 5 stars?
Not much in the way of snack options, however the seats are comfy and recline and the line moves fast. They also show the latest and greatest movies at a good price.
Since the recliners were added it has just solidified this theatre as the best in Louisville! It feels so neighborhoody and delightful! Everytime I come here I feel as if I were in my own personal home theatre, of course this screen and sound system would blow mine away. But it makes me feel like home! I just love this place!!!
Bolshoi BALLET! LIVE StreamingFrom Russia, The Golden Age What better way to spend a rainySunday afternoon! !!Just Fabulous! Ballets are not for everyone, but go ahead try it!$25.00 take there on a 3 hoursJourney. No its not a movie!ITS BALLET ON THE STAGE LIVE!
Beautiful cinematic experience. Incredible seats, friendly staff, convenient location!
Honest employees. I lost my wallet in the theater. The cleanup people found it and turned it in. Amen
Just about perfect in every way. Parking can be a challenge and its not the easiest place to find if you are not from the area, which I am.
Great prices, discount Tuesdays, comfy seats, great sound system and picture quality. I dont know why weve ever gone anywhere else.
Reclining seats, full bar & perfect popcorn.
Always love coming here, especially with the new reclining seats.!
Awesome venue. Seats are very comfortable and well-spaced. They recline, which is a huge plus. Concessions are a little expensive but I guess thats just how theaters in the big cities are. Had a great time, will definitely come back when I get a chance.
As a vertically challenged person I ABSOLUTELY love the reclining seats!!! Now I am comfortable throughout the movie and never is my view blocked..and people can walk past me without my having to make room. Also love convenience to my home and Value Market !
Great movie selection, Great service, Great venue, great snacks and reclining seats!
They have made good improvements- reclining chairs, and a bar for example. Their ticket and concession stand prices are still affordable. This has become our favorite theater!
Great movie. Clean, seats to sleep in, alcohol
My favorite theater in town. Its clean, usually has some unique movies that other theaters wont play, and its affordable. They have small theaters with the comfy reclining seats so the atmosphere feels just a little bit more cozy.
Clean, comfortable, affordable. Great theatre
Great theater, new recliner seats. Even a full bar plus traditional concession stand.
A movie on The Big Screen says it all. Good service, plush chairs and popcorn and you’re there already.
Nothing better than good movie and popcorn!!
Love this theater! The seats are nice and comfy, and the environment is always chill.
A great smaller theater which screens both major first-run features and an array of more off-beat films, including foreign and art-house selections. Comfortable seating and basic but well-stocked concessions, with a new wine bar at the secondary concession stand. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and theaters and restrooms are always sparkling clean.
Luxury seats and adult beverages. If youre visiting Louisville and staying near Downtown - Churchill Downs area this is a convenient place to see first run movies.
These seats are comfy as all get out! Even my mother was impressed!
Good theater. Love location but too pricey.
The Baxter is our go-to for great movies! The ticket prices and concession prices are great! And we love the reclining chairs in the theaters! I have been a dedicated customer since Baxter open and recommend it to anyone! We even drive from Jeffersonville, Indiana to see our movies at Baxter!
It was my first time in this theater and I was very comfortable. I will vist again.
Favorite Theater in Louisville. Avid movie fan for 60 years. Been to all the movie theaters. Still my favorite. Awesome RECLINERS!! One bad theater number 7 has a bad screen making every movie grainy like an old tv signal. Probably a bad repair from past vandalism. Fix #7 to earn the 5 stars I gave you!
I nearly always go to see movies at Baxter. The reclining chairs are soooo comfortable! Concessions are tasty. Such a great neighborhood theater.
