AMAZING GETAWAY.This beautiful park offers many activities for the family to enjoy: from picnic tables and grills to childrens play areas and sports areas. Its a dog-friendly park and you can walk your dog along the many paths around. Its an excellent choice and highly recommended to have a fun day off.
Such a beautiful spacious park in the middle of the city. The walking trails, lake, and picnic areas are great. This park is very well maintained and has excellent programming by several community groups and outdoor enthusiasts. We hosted an early evening drive by party and the setting was perfect. Plenty of space to meet up and then a gorgeous area for staging the actual party. I will intentionally spend more time here in the coming months.
I usually park by the stocker corridor trails parking lot and walked my way to the park. You can always get a good walk here. You have the option to explore different trails or just sit and enjoy the great views. Pet friendly and very clean.
Free entrance on weekdays. The Japanese garden is my fave for a peaceful stroll but for lots and lots of room, drive all the way to the top to the “bowl - a huge grassy area with trees for shade. Perfect for social distancing. Sometimes there is a guy there “Chan the bird man” who has these huge blue parrots. He has trained them and it’s so fun to watch them fly around the park. He is very nice and likes to educate both kids and adults about the birds.
I found the park very impressive.. Very spacious park with lots activities. I was there for the Disc Golf course which is only 9 holes and very straight, yet challenging because of the distance of some of the holes. Up to 500.
This is a very lovely park. Amazing view of DTLA from the top. Good place to spend a whole day here
What a nice park! During the stay at home order I visited often for exercise. A lot of trails, and huge incline to the start of the trails for a boost to your workout. On my first visit I saw a snake so keep your eye open. This park is fully equipped, playgrounds, bathrooms, ponds (you can fish), hiking trails, and place to have picnics.
The best way to take a healthy life under the social distance is exploring the nature! I learned this park from the book, Wild LA, published by Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County. The wildlife and history of oil field were impressed.
Great place to walk, hike or work out. Really enjoy watching the dog training classes at the park across from the State park
A good reliever to get away from work and other personal endeavors. The trail is huge and theres a lady always selling agua fresca on top. Love it here!
Great park nice view one kid was picking up baby ducks and taking them away from their mother you should have some rangers on the lake
Amazing views of L.A. all around. Great hiking trails that dont kill you either. I wish they would modernize the Japanese gardens as they look like they need some work.
We only came to the Japanese garden here About a month ago. It is truly beautiful! It is surprising to have the secluded place right in the middle of Los Angeles. Ive passed by it in the car many times not knowing what it was. The entrance is free and you can enjoy beautiful nature, take a walk in the garden, watch ducks, and take beautiful pictures with your family!
This place is amazing, its like 15 parks rolled into one. Ive been here a ton, and I still find new nooks and crannies. Great place to go biking or jogging, and I love the fact that they shut down JFK on Sundays. We always bring company here when theyre in town, but its hard to convey the immensity of the park to someone in a single visit/day.
An urban escape. Beautifully designed park with stream and lake. Folks practiced distancing. Very uncrowdedLots of space for hikes. Plenty of pick nick tables spread far apartShady grass areas just to sit with friends or romp with family. Animal friendly (on leash).Discover this gem yourself
Great place for the family. Lots of space 3 different playgrounds with different themes. As of this writing there is a $6 per car fee but Monday and Friday are free entry. Fishing pond, trails, Japanese Garden.
31 years ago i took my first steps in this park and since had good times here growing up the park still has its luster and integrity with some added features!!!!! Must see!!!!!
I have live near this park for some many years now and I never know the whole park its big. I wen to the pick of the park, beautiful ...there is a rustic trail almost a mile and you got up to pick of. And you get down by the street..love it
Very crowded! I forgot it was Veterans Day so a long line of cars to get in and $6 to park. Usually free on weekdays. Its a great place to hike. Lots of trails. Saw a few people hiking with their dogs
Very nice park with lots of trails and amenities spread out so it never feels too crowded
I come here about 4 times a week for the last several months. Ive got two young boys who need to be kept moving while our normal parks and playgrounds are closed. We walk on the trails at both ends of the park, play ball in the feilds, especially the bowl, walk around the lake and the japenese garden. Its an amazing place, and Im so glad I discovered it. Its also helping me start teaching them about the geography of the city, and lots of other things that we can see from the hills.
During the week is free to come do enjoy it Monday through Friday . Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Great place to picnic or walk your dog. Feed the ducks or just enjoy the outdoors . Hiking trails with awesome views of the city also make this place worth the trip.
This location is a Hidden Gem. It is a great place to relax and hang out orbi with family. It is great to go there during the weekdays. Or just walk your dog and have a cool drink enjoying the breeze. You will love it!
Wow! I havent been here in over 30 years! I brought my daughter and our furbaby, Tink (German Sheppard mix). The park is pet friendly and the babbling brook is EVERYTHING. We took some amazing shots of the lake. Other pets were either leashed or extremely well behaved/trained off the leash (though I believe it is NOT an off-leash park. We played catch with our dog off the leash for a short while and no one freaked out
Love coming here with my family and dog! Beautiful park, clean, no vagabonds, awesome lake. Huge park. Highly recomend coming here for any occasion or for exercise.
Love this park. It has everything you need to enjoy with your family or friends. Hiking, biking, exercise playgrounds for children. Love it
I love this place to go run and hike. You can enjoy of different great views of the beautiful area of Los Angeles
Small urban park that offers a relaxing reprieve from the general hustle and bustle of the city. This park offers great views of the city, which is a nice perk during your visit.
Its a great spot in the middle of the city. Hard to find such large swaths of green in LA, but this is definitely one of those gems. Whether you are going for a picnic or playing disc golf, the park has facilities that provide a plethora of activities. Currently, they are also hosting drive in movies on Friday night which is a great little event to offer during these covid times. If youve never visited the park, I really recommend going to check out a few of the hiking trails gjey have there.
My favorite park hands done. Staff is a crew of hard working men and women...the grounds are kept up beautifully. Been walking /hicking 6 days a week for the past 7 years and every day has been peaceful and safe. Great place for picnicking and plenty to do with the kids!!!
Loved my visit here! Went to the visitors center for some expert suggestions on where to visit before heading out to Rodeo Beach, the Marine Mammal Center and finally Fort Baker to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge. Cant wait to visit again for a longer hike. Simply beautiful.
Loved this state park! Very nice hiking trails with incredible views, playgrounds for the littles, scenic pond to stroll around and enjoy the ducks, geese, and turtles. This park is such a tranquil spot in the city. Even just driving through on the winding road, if thats all you have time for, can be enjoyable. Bathrooms were decent... visitor center was closed on day we went (perhaps because it was Monday?). Limited fishing is allowed at the pond- can keep up to five catfish per person. No other fish caught can be kept though. Plenty of benches and picnic tables available as well. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area :)
This is another place Ive had on my radar for years. I think I bookmarked when I was looking into places to volunteer in the times when I wasnt working at my job. Ah. My job. Good times. Ill get there soon enough I suppose. Anyhoo. I had a job interview nearby, and was on my way home when their sign caught my eye.
Love the hummimg birds. Spent a long time here. Burned 800 calories.
During the week is free to come do enjoy it Monday through Friday . Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Good place to picnic or walk your dog. Feed the ducks or just enjoy the outdoors . Hiking trails with awesome views of the city also make this place worth the trip.
Great place to have a socially distanced picnic, lots of space and even though I didnt bring my fishing pole there was plenty of space on the lake to relax and fish. Lots of kids running around and enjoying the outdoors in this Los Angeles oasis.
Solid 9 hold disc golf course. Much easier to play when the park is not busy as quite a few non-players relax on the course who do not realize (or care?) they are laying in a fairway, but all in all a nice course for the westside.
Kenneth Hahn recreation area is a good spot to go during this coronavirus time when social distancing is in effect. There’s plenty of spots where you can relax in the shade enjoying the cool breeze making art or reading a book. If you feel adventurous there’s a small hike, if you’re in the mood to see the scenery you can drive up the hill and see downtown. Also the restrooms are cleaner than the ones at the airport.
Good variety of trails for all ages. Nice view of LA at the top. Will definitely go again soon.
In the times I’ve visited things could be a little better maintained, but it’s a decent park nonetheless. One with great views, parking, and an alright variety. What makes it unique is the way it is situated similar to Barnsdall-in the city but almost as if it were detached due to the way the design isolated it from the city environment you get at many other urban parks. Not always bad, but this is great.
Nice place for reading bookand listening to K-pop. I listen to September 12 by Rain.
I had a wonderful experience at the park. Parking was 6 bucks. I was able to find a open space on the grass near the pond. I layout my blanket at and soak up some sun.
The view is spectacular. ninj took me here as a special surprise. the fog rolled in and did cloud the view for a few minutes while we were there. however, we did get some fantastic shots of the golden gate bridge, the bay bridge, sutro tower and the CA skyline!
I love the trails and different outside equipment for fitness. Idea for great scenery and working out in groups although I enjoyed it alone Im definitely going back.
Beautiful place. However during lur picnic. There are so many fly like wasp flying around our food area. Very annoyed. However these wasp like pests does not sting.
Lovely views of the GG Bridge here. Tough to find parking on a nice weekend afternoon when everyones out. Better on weekdays to lessen the crowds. Pics from the lowest and highest parking lots are best.
Its a very beautiful park. Especially at night. I loved it so much
Nice, quiet and quick getaway from the city. Its a decently long stroll around the entire perimeter of the lake. Great place to have a picnic, do yoga, take your dog, or read a book, etc. Its big enough that, even if its busy, youll have plenty of space to yourself. There are multiple docks around the lake to launch your kayak, canoe, or SUP. There are also plenty of picnic benches situated around the park. Oh and clean restrooms!
Absolutely beautiful up there. Love the trails..easy...not hard at all.
I love this place! Great hiking trails. Relaxing Japanese garden. Ponds and streams.
This is an absolutely awesome place to take dogs!!!! There are dogs everywhere of every size and shape and they love to romp in the sand dunes and down on the beach in and out of the water. This was our first time there and we will definitely be back!!! Such a great resource for pet parents!
Love this park as a place to walk around and walk on the beach. Hang gliders and paragliders take off above your head, which is beautiful to watch next to the ocean. Lots of cute dogs and families. Plenty of space for social distance, and plenty of open parking on the road. There isnt just ONE main trail here - there are lots of meandering trails and areas to walk/sit/discover
For a novice MTB trail it was all right. By the end of the ride my group and I were pleasantly surprised. Will return
Kenneth Hahn is a great little park in the middle of the city. The hikes have great views of the city from downtown to Santa Monica. Lots of play grounds, lakes, and picnic areas make this a great spot to take the family.
Kenneth Hahn is a 9 hole disc golf course with TONS of open space! The drives are long which makes it fun to tee off because you can throw your heart out. The park is super clean, they have signs posted in the disc golf area that people are not allowed to play any other sports in that area, which makes it even more enjoyable that you’re not having to yell at people to move out of the way. Parking was free when I went on a Friday, but it looked like there’s a pay booth to enter the park which may open from time to time. The course is all the way at the very top of the hill.
Been going here for almost a decade. And every time I go, I feel like its a new experience because its such a beautiful park. There is so much to see and do there. From Hiking to Frisbee. Its one of my fave parks in LA.
Good trails to run on not as crowded as Runyon. Nice view of cities. Great place for picnics
I’ve celebrated many birthdays at this park. $6 entrance fee for each vehicle, CASH ONLY.If you want to get a good spot, get here early, especially if it’s for a birthday or party/celebration. They have a lot of parking available, clean restrooms and picnic tables. Most spaces have trees or shade. If you drive up until the end of the park up the hill, you get views of the city.
AMAZING. I walked through the whole length of the park (app. 5 miles) and finished at the beach. This was an amazing experience. My feet hurt a bit today though.
One of the best places in central LA for trail running and mountain biking. Lots of fun hill climb sections that end with scenic views at the top.
This place is amazing and spacious! :D It was a beautiful scenery :)
Fist time we took pictures for my parents 50 anniversary perfect place beautiful view two thumbs up
Beautiful trail. It has a lot of stages and surprises, a dirt road, then cement road, then gravel road, then a big open grassy field. Great play to have a picnic too. A lot if room, specially because of social distancing. Will come here again.
You should already know that this is one of the best park that is situated in the heart of the city. My dad used to take me fishing there when I was young. I took my children there when they were young. And of course the trails are everything. Thats what my husband do there now. We go walking and jogging on the beautiful trails in the morning youll see a cute bunny or two
Awesome, nice clean & well kept park. Beautiful views!
The landscaping is nice, but definitely room for improvement. I came across a broken rock fountain that was probably really nice when working properly. The Visitors Center was welcoming. The employees were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms there are cleaner. I do not suggest using the park restrooms otherwise. There was a Japanese Garden, but so many people were taking photos there you couldnt do much walking. That at least speaks that many people find it beautiful enough for memories.Tons of foilage & a good view of the city from above.
Banana granola pancakes sere so good. Pat took our order and the wait was not that long. I would recommend this place!
Humming bird garden was nice and relaxing to watch.
Kenneth Hahn is amazing! Since I discovered this park with my daughter I cant seem to get enough of it. Great hike, love the lakes, and great relaxing spots.
This Park was so nice yesrs ago but know is totally different they closed tables and benches and also they charge $6.00 cash only
Excelent place. Perfect if you are looking for open areas for hiking not too fat from culver city.
This was a great place to come visit! Cant believe Ive lived in la 6 years and never once been here! Big open beautiful space plenty of parking swings to play on and the trails, the glorious trails! I look forward to going back and exploring more. Easy access for all ages.
Such a great place to walk and exercise with the family 100% recommended one of my favorite places in L.A.
Vast acreage! Great views! Happy, healthy people jogging, exercising... Great hiking trails!
Its a huge park, with many different locations to either run, walk or do body weight exercises. Ive gone on the weekday and it is not full ..enough room to feel like your by yourself
Took me 35 years just to come up here and start walking Im going to enjoy this
Beautiful park for walking and jogging. Check out the history. Check out the waterfall. Clean, Covid- Safe
The best views and trails. Perfect for kids and adults
Great park with singing brook, lake filled with fish and aquatics, playgrounds and LAs best hiking trails with the best views overlooking DTLA, the Hollywood sign and Century City.
Great park to take the family and have a picnic or go for a hike. One of the few hidden gems of LA.
This park is a hidden gem on la cienaga Blvd. There and multiple hiking trails and even a fishing lake. There are ducks in the lake so bring duck safe bread. Also great for photography or just a picnic in the park. It is very big so be prepared to walk if you want to see it all and be sure to take the main road to the top and get an amazing scenic view. Have fun!
Great place to take your RC, if you want to Bash you have to go all the way to the top and do the trails where they have the wood trunks fence to the right, lots of space,
The week days its free. The weekend its 6 dollars. I asked when did they start charging. The lady said since 1991. ??. There are other ways to get in wo paying like parking your car outside. Allegedly but Hermosa Vista on 1st street in Downtown LA is beautiful too w a trail can have picnics and great its free.
Came here with the kiddos on my visit home after 4 yrs! We enjoyed the hiking and Japanese Garden. The fruit from the fruit stand at the end was an added bonus.
Fun. Always been the getaway spot since 89
Pretty good amout of runners in the way of players that dont watch out for other players. got hit by disc.
Beautiful and very large park .... Find peaceful moments here
I love this place because every morning we make our workout
Nice lake and a good spot for hiking. Great sunset!
This park almost feels like youre out of the city but you get a beautiful view of downtown from the top. Quiet and lots of room to spread out. Public bathrooms available. $6 per car. Not sure how much it costs for other vehicles and walk-ins
Nice park to take your family or take your date. Hickin trails, nice environment.
Great for hiking. Plenty of trails, and the views from almost all high points plus the japanese garden are a sight to see.
Open space, lots of pathways for hiking or walking and great views on a clear day!!!
Like the walking trails.. Like the man made ponds its also pretty clean could be better though...i see only one old man doing all the gardening work and see other employes just driving around not doing anything...just my opinion...
