This is a great part that sits on top of the hill. It has a large open grass field where you can picnic, barbecue and host birthday parties. This park is more of a nature park because it doesnt have a lot of playground activities for children. There is a hike going up towards the pond and thats where youll get the best views of the city. It is a hike and the trail has a good incline. So remember to stay comfortable, hydrated and take your time if needed.
Love this beach. This was my first time here 9/19/20 & will definitely be back. Loved the view of the Golden Gate. Weather was perfect. Got here after 1pm on a Saturday afternoon & parking wasnt bad at all. There were a lot of people but we had a great time. Only thing is the restroom. There are only portable ones & so gross! Used a few in my life time but omg these ones were disgusting!!!
Best place ever and right next-door to my home definitely will refer to all my young family youth friends great place to bring kids the staff welcoming and lovely warm hearted great adventure highly enjoyed myself love the animals
My fiance and I were at a nearby carwash, saw this place on the map, and decided to see what it was like. We were glad we did! After parking in the one of the ample number of available parking spaces, we headed up one of the nearby trails. It took us to this shaded pond area with beautiful overlooks all around. There were a good number of people here, so we decided to go further down the trail. We came across a covered pavilion area with no one in it and sat here for about an hour, enjoying the silence of nature until another group came nearby. The hike back down gave us a great view of downtown LA, even with the hazy, smokey air.The trails are pretty steep here and there arent many shaded areas, so definitely bring a good pair of shoes and some water. There is a good amount of the trail that is paved which provides easier walking. Some of the other trails that branch off the main one, though, arent paved and area a bit dusty.Note that we didnt go to the park area itself due to the large number of big groups gathered there and not practicing social distancing nor wearing masks, so this review is only for the hiking trails themselves.
I love this park. I went hiking in Eaton Canyon but it was close due to Covid. Had to find another place to go so I ended up going to Debs Park. I am still surprised that I have never heard of it. Very nice and calm place to hike. Will definitely go back again.
Well maintained for a public park and safe. It is gorgeous and huge! Trails and amenities galore (museums, etc).Free parking (inside of the park) is available if you park further west.I first visited as a child many decades ago and this place never gets old!
Clean and spectacular views. It would be great if the county would spend some $ to clean out the pond and the dried up cascades. Then allow the water to flow again and return to how it was years ago. A beautiful clean pond with a flowing cascades.
Free parking, multiple paths, so many surprises, endless stairs and amazing views of Los AngelesLos Angeles is so beautiful from the vantage point of the park.
Its a beautiful hiking place to take yr family dogs and friends I use to go there back in the days with my lil brothers theres alot of trails compare than before
Simply incredible. Must do. Especially at sunset.
Even though we got lost lol it was good to get out and walk. Nice trails. Definitely will go back again.
The park is literally about a five minute walk away from my house. I like that I can take my six year old on her bike. Every morning there is a parks and rec worker sadly picking up after people who have gone in the evenings to trash the park. There are trails up on the hill area. I feel safe walking overall.
Beautiful views. It’s a nice hike without being too long or strenuous. My dog loves it here. Apparently there have been a lot of violent crimes here so watch out for that.
This is a nice out of the way spot off the 110 freeway
This park are very good for family members, have a lot of space to make parties for the kids
What can I say...I started coming here when you could walk or swim around the rocks at the far left end of the beach and have your own little beach to yourself. Those days are long gone due to mother natures rival, global warming.
This place is wonderful I been in this place well over 45 years but is being neglected it need a lot maintenance I hope the management do something about it.
Great lake to walk by and decompress - hard to believe its in such a busy area. Excellent bars and food all around.
Its a good mix on flat grassy area than an incline that leads up to a pond and short walking trails. Good park to explore for a couple of hours...loved it!
Great place for a walk. There are different trails where either they lead you back to the park or towards a street. There is also a lake in the middle where you can find people fishing and turtles swimming! To top it off, the park space in the beginning is great for family time and wildlife there is awesome!
A nice park with a number of hiking trails, a large picnic area (with some pergolas that can be reserved for parties), and a small lake/duck pond. The picnic areas are nice but have definitely seen better days and could use a solid refurbishment. The restroom buildings are terrible, but about par for the course for a city park. There are often a lot of off leash dogs in the park (including in the picnic area!) so be aware if you are hiking here or if you have small children. A few scattered homeless encampments (or remnants thereof) dot the park but overall its not too bad.
I often visit this Cool Neighborhood trail
Without having read any history of this park I am almost sure that it was designed to be like Central Park in NYC. Maybe even larger.Chain of Lakes Blvd has a seemly endless number of small lake areas to just relax and enjoy the wildlife right damn in the middle of San Francisco. We saw a Blue Heron stalking and eating gophers. Didnt know those birds ate meat. Hope PETA doent know that either.
Love this hiking trail in El Sereno. Super cute pond at top of debs park. Beautiful views of DTLA, Pasadena, Glendale with a bench for comfort, picnic tables and a lot of flat open space to stop and workout or yoga. Trail is suitable for children and dogs. You will not be disappointed with your experience.
Great place for hikes, dog walks and views. Many trails but not many people. Most trails dont have much shade. Watch out for all the dog poop. The Audubon Society building on site is a major plus!
Montecito Heights is one of the first places of where my hiking began. The trail is about 3-4 miles, this is a great trail for beginners. I personally love that I am able to oversee the surroundings, view of L.A., Glendale, Altadena, Pasadena and did I mention how beautiful and relaxing this place is! Love it!
Dislocation really surprise me it has great views of the city of downtown Los Angeles and had great views of the valley and also Old Pasadena we had my brothers baby shower there and it was nice we really had fun
Great place for a mini hike, enough shade to enjoy a nice read or picnic next to the pond . Love that its a Dog friendly park.
I has a very steep hiking good for burn calories
This place is perfect to walk your dogs, you dont have to worry about them running off to the streets. You might want to keep your dog on a leash depending how their behavior is because their is other ppl walking their dogs. The place is so big if you look good enough you can find a nice private area to relax and have a little picnic.
Golden Gate Park: walked and walked and walked and drank coffee and walked some more. Wanted to rent bikes but kept walking. Wanted to see the Japanese garden but didnt want to spend money. People-watched and walked some more. Sat and waited 30 minutes for the free shuttle, maybe should have walked. This park is UGE! Wander and explore when you have lots of free time. Be prepared to walk :)
This short hike has a shaded pond with turtles, a bench overlooking downtown and a swing. The initial hike is steep but on a paved road starting from an ample parking lot within a nice park. Its off the 110 but can get crowded.
The trail is a bit steep for me but we took our toddler to the top anyway, then the beautiful lake appears behind the bushes, such a surprise!
Like the name of the hike suggests, Lands End trail is at the very far end of San Francisco. I love to keep active and couldnt have asked for a better way to get out and catch up with friends while taking in the gorgeous scenery.
One of my favorite places to go hiking in LA! There is parking as you go past the park gates. Before the trails, there is a huge BBQ grassy area which is nice for picnics and gatherings. When you go up the trail, it leads you to a nice little lake. It was such a hidden gem. You can take many different trails where you can see beautiful city views. I hiked over 4 miles the first time I came here! There is also wildlife here and animals like coyotes, so just be on the look out. Im definitely coming back here again without a doubt!
Very relaxing. Not too crowded.
Sprawling park, nice for a stroll, dogs love, never too crowded
The García trail is closed indefinitely
One of my favorite hikes! Great views of DTLA and the city plus a cute little lake with shady trees that people like to picnic around. Relaxing hike!
Easy hike up to the pond. Dog and kid friendly
I love this place. Its simple. A good way to start building stamina. Dog friendly and my dog, Zeus, loves it!
Great Park in the neighborhood used to be a petting zoo back in the day who would have known take a chance visit it its worth it and its free
Its a very beautiful park to hang out and be with family and friends.
Beautiful! The spring showers have brought flowers!
Super chill park.Very clean.Hiking trails.Dogs allowed.Would strongly recommend
Excellent hiking trails. We have the opportunity to watch wild animals.
Great views!!Lots of trails!!
Nice walk for kids and senor moderate hike. Nice view.
Great place to hike and get a few miles in. Many different roads within, but beware of the tweaker ppl that live in the bushes. I consider them to be a danger, wish the city would clear them out.
Im happy LA has such a large protected park (2nd largest in the county) but the paths could use repaving.
Good hike. Beautiful view.
Good for short hike even with kids. Sometimes crowded but views are great. I suggest to spend few extra minutes to walk more to see small lake and nice view of downtown.
The hike is pretty basic and i would recommend for a beginner. Its a decent size and doesnt have extreme inclination but enough to get a tinggling. Plus it has great view of DTLA. I would also consider this a good location for kids as well. Also its a chill place to come and have a picnic(just remember to take your trash with you).
Great hiking spot without the crowds like griffith park and not as intense. Especially if you go early.
A great place to relax and see natures Great Hiking Trails gorgeous views of Los Angeles and vicinity.
A great place for hiking!
Nice place to hike or have a picnic
I go here often for a hike with my bf and dog. My dog loves it! I know evey dog will . The Hike is not the hardest but can get your heart rate going. Once you get to the top find a bench by the pond and it is very relaxing. You might see a lot of turtles and fishes it is a wonderful place to relax. If you continue hiking up the trail you can get an awesome view of DTLA.
Good place for a hike and fishing
Unfogatable panorama view. The best view. The best hike. Dog friendly
Great hike! Perfect for a nice little cute date :)
One of my favorite places to go for a walk. The view of N.E.L.A makes me nostalgic and lufts my mood instantly.
This place is great where you can come and walk or walk your dog, great place to take your lunch time great place to relax
This was a great hike.
Always having a good time at the farm
Beautiful view of DTLA. Great workout! My pooch loves it
Great place for a hike with a great view. Perfect location for entertaining guests and family. Take a hike up to the top and youll find a little slice of heaven. A pond atop a mountain. This pond has fish & turtles. People catch & release their fish. People are nice, you can bring you dog(s) up here too. Theyre going to like it as much as you are. Happy hiking!
My fave park just recently I noticed it becoming more crowded I hope everyone picks up after themselves its a nice hidden park in the city.
Dont go in the morning . If your trying to go with friends go at the night around 11pm youll see some crazy animals . Theres a back entrance
I love this place. So calm and serene. Go out on the trail and sit on a bench and get close to nature. Lots of birds to see. And the view from the top is awesome.
Great views. Large parking lot. Very well taken care of.
Love mtn biking and running here. Lots of hills, great workout
Dope totally worth it for the lake at the top
Good place to hike with your family and it has a great view
EDRP is a great park with a great view of DTLA, SGValley, and the Northeast LA. Moreover, there is a beautiful pond surrounded by trees located at the middle of the park. Hiking trails are simple to navigate, are well kept and its not too steep (easy to intermediate elevation). Plenty of parking space. Dogs are allowed. Overall, its a great park for hiking and walking. I guarantee youll love the views.
It is a great walk/hike the only thing is not every one keeps their dog on the leash
Nice place to walk.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! GREAT TRAILS FOR THE WHOLE FAM!!
A nice quiet park for hiking, sunset watching or just relaxing.
Good hike, with nice views.
This place is nice to go on a date or with family.
Nice scenic workout...bring insect repellent....free parking
I really like it. I always take 1 hour and 30 min walk, it has a really nice view of the LA Downtown
Nice chill place for birthday party or just BBQ with friends and family. Plenty of parking and restrooms close by. Only bad part their is no playground.
Beautiful place good 2 mile hike
Dog friendly, in designated areas (see rendered map from the park website) and then the other map was from my app and this trail took about 2 hours. A little bit of a climb and dusty.
It feels a little weird to label Temescal a hidden gem, but considering the last time I had a BBQ here I was surprised at how few people had heard of it so I guess i fits.
Very nice place..
Nice views, could be cleaner. If you live in the area, its a great place to go for a walk or jogging.
Very peaceful and tranquil walked a nice path.
