Girard Park. I enjoy walks around the walking track. Today I sat with the ducks by the pond. There is fishing, shot put, disc, basketball, volleyball, tennis, exercise machines, & plenty of space for relaxing. I take a picnic blanket & relax or read a book other times. I thoroughly enjoy myself each day I spend at the park.

This is a very beautiful and nice park to go in and is totally free to go in this park and is even better than city park! And they have ducks too!

Nice wide big park, lot of people, so lively, but could management keep the park clean, move lawn.. most of the area it looks dirty, particularly neat lake side.. Tennis courts has to be re-looked for maintenance..

Best park in the area. Unfortunately, we are no longer allowed to feed the ducks. The pool is always dirty.

Got a nice inside gym also good outside workout equipment & a nice jogging track, Basket Ball courts inside & outside. Good place to fish and enjoy scenery, nice pond & relaxing atmosphere

A great place to hike and its right next to a great disc golf course next door at Heyman park. There is a nice little dock in the back left if you are looking it towards to woods from the nature station.

Great little kid area at Girard Park that is gated so your child doesnt wonder off and run to the road. Disc golf course that is good for beginners. Great place on a weekend morning for sure

I visit every time Im up in Lafayette. Absolutely one of the best parks to bring your fam to and even your pets!! Thats a win win for sure

Stopped here to have lunch with my husband and 3 boys. We sat under a gazebo and enjoyed the scenery. As we walked to the tables I noticed there are shells in the gravel. I was curious to know how those got there. We are from Texas but the area seemed nice. We were just passing through Lafayette and googled closest park. Only issue was the lack of trash cans oh and Im assuming city vehicles ( white pickups) that were parked on the grass when a paved lot is literally a couple feet away.

Will that was my first time .but i didnt give up.and. after a wild. I. Like it very much i had a very good. Good time i will be back with my magic show

The place has had better days because the pond for the ducks have become very muddy dirty and sometimes you can see that the ducks can kind of like walk on top of it then, the like little gazebos and stuff like that arent well maintained, and the playground area isnt well-maintained either but its still fun to be at and its still a good place

Great playgrounds with swings for two (e.g., parent and child), a small rock climbing wall, splash pad, open fields, lots of trees, ducks at a pond, exercise equipment and running trail, and more!

Love taking the dog for walks and feeding the fish and ducks.

#LafayetteLouisiana has beautiful parks! They are well maintained and offer access to not just baseball, foot ball, basketball, swimming but also yoga, fishing, canoe and kayak launches, hiking trails-its awesome! And it is mostly free!! Louisiana is called Sportsmans Paradise for a reason-if you want to play outside, come on over!

Build a skatepark.

Great family friendly park with a nice and easyish 9 hole disc golf course. Perfect for beginners.

There were teenage boys around the children area. Trees need shaping. Branch are getting low.

My family and I had a great time at Girard Park on this splendid Sunday, where a lot of families were making memories along with us. It has nice shaded or sunny grassy areas to have a picnic, read, or nap. We saw quite a few ducks and ducklings we enjoyed seeing this afternoon. The only eye sore was the litter surrounding certain parts of the duck pond. What could my family and I do to help clean up the litter asap?

Girard Park is better maintained lately. Still, there are erosion issues that should be solved *without* concrete. Try grading, adding subsurface drainage pipes, and sturdy plantings.

It has improved over the years. I would bring my kids and now I get to meet them there.

The park is filthy and vandalized so bad. They need to install cameras and station police there and start arresting the perps causing the problem

Parking is crowded at times but good place for families

Lafayette has gorgeous parks with live oaks, cypress, ponds and green spaces perfect for picnics, walks, outdoor bbq and parties and doggie walks .

Very fun festivals. Great music, great food.
