Another exceptional nature area in Lafayette! My Son and I went walking on the trails...did 3.5 miles! Its so pretty! From the main building, if you take the trails to the right, youll be on what I call the upper trails. Very well kept, packed dirt trails, with lots of scenic Vista stops. Then we took the lower (my descriptors) trails which take you down to the Wildcat. Good exercise! Dont miss this Gardens!

Certainly worth a visit if you havent been. The hike is short. Perhaps an hour if you do it all. If the weathers nice, you could sit and enjoy on one of the many benches along the way.The best part I think is the spur along the Wildcat. You can step off the trail and get your feet wet if you want.Note that parts of the trail are still under construction. Some paths end in dense underbrush, and if youre like me youll turn back.

Clegg Gardens is a beautiful place, but best if youre going there with an open mind. I grew up going to Clegg Gardens, so I never really compared it to other places, and I strongly recommend doing this to get the full experience. Its not the fanciest trails you will go on, nor is it the biggest, but it is truly a very nice place to be. Go to Clegg Gardens to simply get away and be in nature for a while. There are plenty of benches and viewing platforms of the creek.

Wonderful garden and trails, my kids love it, they are 4 and 2 years old. They have a small area for kids to play logs and bones. Im sure that the builder knows kids well. The trails are moderate for kids at young age, not stroller friendly but so much fun to wonder around and go up and down. The view is stunning and you can have a peak of wild cat creek beside you!

A beautiful place to explore. The trails are nice for strolling and the views are great for photos. I would recommend this area for anyone looking to get outdoors.

I love walking the nice trails of IN. Nicely made bridges and stone or wood stairs. I gave this less a star as I thought that their Botanical gardens really lacked. It is September so most plants are dying off, however there wasnt a thing to see there. They were in the process of making a nature totem pole in front of their Nature center. It was man made mainly with a chain saw and then defined with other tools. It was impressive work!

Beautiful place to take the family. Try to go on a dry day, given the terrain. Many varieties of wildflowers. They seem to always be maintaining and improving their paths, which is great. I would recommend getting a map if you dont want to go through all the trails.

Fun little area to walk around especially in the spring. Right now all the native wildflowers are blooming and it was a very enjoyable experience walking the trails. I have lived in the area for a while and just recently found this place. Definitely worth the stop.

Good for a short hike, I went with a smaller group of people and it was perfect. No one else was there so we got to experience it by ourselves. Not good for small children, but it was good for teens and above!

Woodsy, hilly trails that are a rare and very happy find in this otherwise flat area. My 6.5 year old had a ton of fun playing in the natural playscape, declaring he liked it even better than Happy Hollow (high praise). I want to love this place as much, but it really needs some TLC and doesnt feel as well cared for (which I understand is a function of financial and human resources and am considering contributing towards).I am really hoping the current safety campaign to put in a pedestrian walk between the parking lot and the park pays off because crossing is very dangerous and is especially scary with kids. Cars drive fast and there is low visibility because of curves and hills on the road.Young kids must be watched extremely carefully while playing on the playscape given the openness of it and the proximity to the busy road, steep hills, etc. I brought my 18 month old, who had fun, but its really better for older children and Im not sure Ill bring him back anytime soon. You need to be VERY vigilant with younger children here.

Nice place to go for a short hike. Trails are not paved. Its not super rugged but there are some decent hills and things to climb. The trail can be a bit narrow in places. There are a couple of lookout points where you can see for miles and one hill in particular thats absolutely swarming with wildflowers. Very beautiful overall.

It is a good place for hiking. There are dangerous ravines on the trails so I wouldnt take young children on some of em. Only a short path is able to have a stroller and not on the trails.

Review №44

Very nicely surprised my this gem. I was a bit disappointed that there is no allowance for handicap accessibility, but nature doesnt always make it as easy without altering the terrain. The trail from the building is nice & hard, but there are quite a few stairs & in more than one place. The dendrification was a welcome treat. The river was calm & the view of it from below was beautiful.
