Exceeded expectations! Cute cozy place to stay on Key Largo. The rooms are a good size and clean with a nice size shower, the staff is polite and the water front view of the room is lovely. I dont know if every room faces the water but ours did and weve been watching the sunrise and beautiful yachts and boats go by every morning. Theres a little ship wreck right across the canal and I really wanted to go explore it but will have to come back to do it. There is a tiki bar with a pretty good menu and awesome drinks! And theres a little beach! Overall I really liked this hotel. Definitely exceeded expectations.

Loved the view from our room with the dolphins! Nice pool and beach. Property is dog friendly, but no pets in the motel rooms is down side to this traveler.

Great place to eat some fresh food. Prices are average. Great environment and view. Relaxing, but if you want to find a Saturday night place, they usually have live bands.

The service was great. Nice drinks. Night food menu is a little limited. They dont allow you to use the pool after check out so if you are planning to spend the day there all you have is the beach area, which is small and if you dont keep your bracelet they dont even want you to lay down on the sand which I found a little too strict. A nice place overall.

Second year we attend The Patriot Run with the Stangs of South Florida Mustang group. The run culminated with a car meet at the resort. Good food, good service, good atmosphere, we rented jet skis, sat and relaxed with the nice breeze. Overall, very positive experience and we would attend again.

I live just a few miles from here and I went with a friend for a drink and dinner recently. I like Gilberts, the staff was really nice but the service wasnt good. The food order was dropped off but was wrong (cheese type, side order) and server never asked (and wasnt available) for a second drink long after the food arrived and we had eaten.The little beach is lovely, I like that we can bring the boat up to their dock. Its really a great spot for families as well.Ive never stayed in the resort part but have spent some time there with friends that lived on the boats at the marina. Good spot.

Food is delicious. I have not stayed in the hotel yet. Great to come, relax, watch the boat passing by and deep your body in the little beach water.My third time here and they will see me again. 1 hr drive from West Miami.

I simply love Gilberts.... Staff is fun and friendly. Food to die for! I recommend the Raw tuna on wantons.... Watch the boat go by while you eat and listen to live music... This was before covid-19 and truly hope it remains the same.

Very open restaurant! Bar with a great ocean view. The only issue is the beach is open to the public so youll get tons of people just kind of walking around being loud near you, but the scenery is pretty, especially at sunset! The food is good and the drinks hilariously named. Side note in case you have a service dog, there are bar cats that hang around trying to get food from the patrons, we had a hissing event as we walked out with a 80lb golden retriever

The tiki bar is to die for. Incredible service, outstanding food, live music, and we met Morgan, one of three super friendly felines that likes to frequent the cantina.

Awesome day, great service, snow crabs were delicious, we rented 2 jet sky, we had a blast.

Gilberts is an outdoor dining facility so they are doing great. Plenty of room for all their guests and as usual, the food was good.

I love Gilberts! The pretzels and beer cheese were really bland though. We were there at night just before tropical storm Eta hit, so it was a little chilly.

Not sure how this hotel is considered a 2 star, I’m amazed at what an amazing time I had here. Amazing food & drinks, the beach is small & full of jelly fish but still this place is great to bring family to go in the pool or fish. If you have a boat or kayak, even better ! Super happy with my decision to come visit Gilbert’s resort!

My wife and I have been coming here for 15 years and have seen this place change in positive ways that keep us and many others coming back year after year! The food menu is varied and prepared well! Many full liquor bars with specialty drinks located under the giant tiki hut with an old Florida feel about them. Live entertainment on the weekends but you need to get here early for good parking!The two story hotel overlooking the dock has been renovated and is a nice place to stay more than one night! There are plenty of spaces to arrive by boat also. A newly renovated pool to enjoy and a beach that is a great place to hang out all day with food and drink served right at your chair for convenience or move to one of the many tables set up with nice water views and music playing all day!This is one of the few resorts you can just hang out at without requiring a hotel booking.Overall this is a great place to enjoy the laid back lifestyle of the keys without the long drive to key west. They are continually updating and renovating to make it more and more inviting to spend time relaxing and recoup from the rat race we all live in! If you stop here once it will most likely become a place to come back to time and time again!

Exquisite and even though covid has changed our lifes I was able to enjoy my stay at Gilberts resort a pleasant one thanks to their staff which made sure we were all safe by following the safety protocals, they all wore masks and made sure we enjoyed our stay.I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing and safe experience to visit this wonderful paradise in the keys.

We love staying at Gilbert’s. It’s always a fun time. Highly recommend the rooms that are on the water with their own patios. Corrine checked us in and Is fantastic. This hotel is one stop fun. You can check in and watch bands all day, easily walk to your room and you can enjoy the water and beach.

Drinks were great. Food was a little lackluster. Servers were quick and friendly. Had to park a mile away. Sheriff were blocking the road in stating the parking was at capacity. Between the blockade and the resort were plenty of parking spaces as well as plenty of open spaces at the resort.

This is an amazing beach front property. The tiki hut bars and restaurants are beautiful and the food here are delicious and their cocktails are. Theres a small beach thats perfect for relaxing and viewing the sunset, you can also rent kayaks and jet ski. On weekends theres live musical entertainment. Its a family friendly environment and the employees are great. We love it here. And i definitely would recommend you stop here.

Food is great. We had the fish dip, lobster bisque and fish tacos. All delicious. Great service and live music on a Monday afternoon.

Great price for the pkg Orbitz gave us. Tiny little beach front. Great tiki bar, food and drinks. Very quaint. If your looking for fancy this isnt the place. Its at the very beginning of the Keys so its perfect to drive the whole strip to key west. Beautiful ocean views the whole way.

The beach used to be available to the public and lounge chairs provided. Now the beach ia restricted to those staying at the hotel. We still sat at a table while the kids played in the water. We made the best of it and the food was decent and our server was nice.

Gilberts when youre going, Alabama Jacks on the way backs! You cant pass up Gilberts on your entrance to the keys. Its the unofficial customs check in! Awesome drinks. Awesome setting! Its a family tradition to stop here every time when visiting the keys.

Property is awesome! The rooms with the deck patios are amazing. Our kids loved the pool, the docks and the beach! We will definitely recommend and stay again! Tiki bar w a great menu all right there!

We wish we would’ve stay longer than one night!! Great view from our window and a clean room. The restaurant bar was nice and a ton of open air seating. Nice to get a complimentary drink when you arrive! Breakfast was an average complimentary continental breakfast which was nice.

Rooms recently remodeled. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, and waffles. Beautiful views. Convenient location. Room wasnt ready at promised time, but they gave us 2 complimentary drinks at the Tiki bar while we waited.

I was charged 200.00 for smoking in the room when i never did. Whenever i leave a hotel i try n leave it tidy. I brought the ash tray in the room to be cleaned. So they charge me 200.00? I called them ciuntless times. I got one call bacj from them and missed the call because i was at work. I called rright back and no answere. I emailed and i finally got a response. This is absurd. I did not smoke in the room . i smoked outside in designated smoking area... So mad right now

It was a great idea to go to Gilberts resort this past weekend. I had a good time, it made me forget about the issues we are living with in this world. Very relaxing, great food and good live music!!

They have everything there! Great food & drinks snd I also bought the best denim USA cap along with a beautiful crochet dress!

There private beach wasnt much of a beach. And the tiki hut for food and drinks prices were outrageous. We did drive down to some of the other keys and there state park beaches. Water was clear and beautiful. But overall the kids enjoyed the pool and jet ski rental and all other activities throughout the keys

NO RECOMMEND!I honestly do NOT understand why people are rating this motel so good. The breakfast is maximum below average and everything here is really rude to guests - especially all the signs. The view from the room is okay but thats all. It is way to expensive for the location and feeling you get here. Better head off directly to Key West, youll get a better experience for less!The pool area is tiny and not very clean and the private beach does not really deserve its name.I regret not staying one day longer in Key West for much less per night with much more friendly service!!!Here all you can get is parking lot feeling with a room to sleep.

My daughter and I went close to closing time and they were able to squeeze us in for a jet ski ride. The gentleman was very nice and explained things easily. Highly recommend!

Definitely a must stop location to get sand between your toes on the way into the keys. Sit back and watch the water while enjoying a rum punch.

Had such a great time! Went on a spur of the moment drive with a friend of mine and her 3 children. So it was 2 moms+6 kids!!! Very family friendly. We were lucky enough to watch a magic show and there was a live band performing. Kids had a great time, which means moms had a great time! Our server was William and he was WONDERFUL!!! Would definitely go back.

Since I was with my family and we were not interested in the amazing live band, at the best Tiki Bar in the Keys, the music was a little louder than we wanted, but it ended at midnight.I could tell the business was set up more for boaters than the casual one night resort crowd.Thanks for a great time!

Very nice sea front restaurant. Very informal, seating indoor is an open space so you can enjoy the view and the breeze. Outside seating is covered tables set on the sand. Very popular biker stop. Food quality is good and prices are decent. Be there early since it fills out quick.

Awesome music and really good drinks, the beach looks really nice, lots of kids having fun in the water. The service here is usually fast and is not as expensive as other places around. Nice view of the bay and the constant flow of boats coming in and out makes it nicer, if you happen to be here in the afternoon the sunset is priceless.

Very unique hidden place. It is truly local hotspot. Massive bar/restaurant and they have water front seating with servers checking on you regularly. If your board at this spot then you simply might not like the keys. If you do like the keys and water in general give it a shot. It is also a nice spot for the sun set.

A little slice of paradise!! A one stop resort, they have everything so you never have to leave! We brought our 2 daughters that are 6 and 9 and they loved the pool and the beach. Hubby and I enjoyed the bar and the amazing cocktails. The whole family got to watch dolphins on the dock next to the beach. The staff was absolutely amazing and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The rooms are clean and have the most amazing views. Will definitely make this our little winter getaway for years to come!

Such a wonderful place to stop in and check out. There are always a bunch of cool motorcycles parked that you can see one you get here. There are also a few vendors selling items like necklaces, rings, souvenirs,etc... You can also get yourself some food as you enjoy the amazing view of the water. If your headed to key West make sure you stop in here as they also have a restroom, which is important if youre traveling with as little of children.

I whish I had a better experience, was my first time visiting the place and I ensured to call to check time of closing. I was told by phone that they close at 9pm, however I arrived at 8pm and they said was last call because they are closing. The host told me to find a table and wait for service, after 20min waiting the server arrived to tell me they were closed... I told her Ive waited 20min and because of that she took my order. I had high expectations that wasnt met in customer service. I dont want to mention only the bad things, so I can say the atmosphere is nice and the view is amazing, the prices are average and the food is ok.

A nice place to visit, a couple of small businesses selling hats and souvenirs and good live music, the bar is attractive and with good service, I can not comment on the accommodation because I did not use it ... good place for motorcyclists with Special parking for us. I put four stars only because the driveway needs to be repaired and has some potholes. The rest has no problems, definitely a good place to visit and have a good time with friends or family.

Gilberts has great atmosphere, the food was really good, the service staff worked really well for us and was super attentive. I would definitely come back. Loved the live music. Definitely family friendly during the day. Heard, but havent experienced the party atmosphere at night. I live in Palm Beach County FL, and felt like I was on vacation!

First off this place has an amazing location! On the water and easy access with boats! Massive tiki bar and plenty of open areas with a small beach they made!This place is a hotel/ bar location. I didnt stay at the hotel so no comment about that.Drinks seem to be well priced. Food is over priced for the amount and quality. Tried a few different options of food and none were worthy of the price they charged us for!Besides that the service was a bit long for my liking. They seemed to be understaffed for a Sunday afternoon. (And the place was packed to the top) so service was lacking.They need to get that under control. I would like to come back to this spot because I do pass it up all the time on the way down the keys, but now Im just not going to come back for drinks it looks like. They have a vast selection of alcoholic beverages and plentys of specials. So I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the famous drinks!
