The staff was great and made our stay enjoyable. The rooms and buildings are a little older but honestly besides sleeping at night we where to busy in the area to really let it bother us. The WiFi is pretty non-existent unless you are on the patio next to the front desk. If you have a boat the marina is right there with anything you might need and you can easily keep an eye on your boat while in your room.
If anybody out there is looking for bargain deals for hotel rooms go over to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ booked a resort on there and these guys had the absolute best rates anywhere!Very friendly and clean large rooms! The staff was very friendly. The room was very roomy and clean. It had a full kitchen and a jetted tub. The pool and bar area were also nice. I would definitely recommend and come back again!
All you need to know is in the description. Its a low key spot to stay overnight. Its not an expensive hotel and dont expect expensive accommodations. Perfect for diving or fishing excursions. Plenty of dive charters and fishing also. Staff is very nice they help as much as possible. Breakfast is a good touch for divers.
Positive: Not much. Bathroom door knob was falling off. Negative: Not well maintained at all
This is ideal if you have pets but if you’re extremely picky then this is not the place for you. It’s in the smaller side but for us we don’t mind, we never spent time in the room. We enjoyed our stay and the beds were comfortable. Just make sure to plan ahead if you’re planning on doing activities because everything books fast.
Resort over all was good but should invest in gutters for rain so water doesnt pool in front your door also jets in hot tub dont work
Positive: Great location and really enjoyed the big pool. Negative: The room was very dated and needed some repairs
Look, if your looking for perfection dont go here. If you looking for a good place to rest and relax at a good price this is the place. AC works great, beds comfy, rooms are spacious and the docks are fun to wander around. The rooms are not well built though, cracks and holes in wall. Warped cupboards. But its was clean and the shower worked well. Not fancy, but the price was right.
What we got was not justified by the amount of money we paid. Spent less for a 4.5 star hotel on Hollywood Beach, with many, many more amenities and much more updated and comfortable accommodations. Our snorkeling tour was cancelled due to weather, and was the only reason we were coming to island. The hotel wouldnt allow us to cancel the room and we would have been charged 90% of the price if we tried. Toilet shakes when being used and closet doors are broken. Manager hands us a list of things to do in the area and then proceeds to tell us none of the activities are available. 100% would DEFINITELY NOT recommend. I will posting my review on booking.com also. Would not recommend using that website either. Priceline is the way to go.
The room was nice and spacious. Very cute and you can see a lot of marine life from their docks. The pools are super neat
Rooms are old and dirty. Low water pressure. But great location.
Stayed 2 separate nights, so we had 2 different rooms. The first one was in the second building closer to Sharkeys, it was extremely loud all night and the sun in the morning was almost unbearable even with the shades pulled it came right in to wake you up. Our second stay was on the third floor of the first building and noise and sunlight wise it was much better. Except this room was nasty. Black mold on the ceiling and tiles falling off the cabinets. But for 150 a night in the keys it wasnt horrible. The continental breakfast had refrigerated bagels and no toaster, it wasnt great either.. I would probably stay again if I couldnt find anything else
Property is closed to everything. Very nice location with a marine, restaurant and pool
We absolutely loved our stay, we will definitely stay again when we go back fishing.
Spent one night here on the way to key west clean room great staff stop in and see them
Room was nasty. Out dated not what was expected. Rooms are noisy.
Myself and my son have been staying here for the last 5 years and was never disappointed. We come to key largo to Dive every year. The manager has always been extremely kind. We are very greatful to the kind staff and management. Breakfast is great! We do not have anything negative to say about our time here. Thank you! Look forward to the next time. Kind regards, Kevin. Was also upgraded to a beautiful marina view with full kitchen. Thanks again!
Nice place to walk the marina and look at all the cool boats.
To say that I am disappointed with my stay at this Marriott resort is an understatement. The rooms are in desperate need of updating or at least repair. Multiple examples of this. One, the bath tub was a 1980 model jetted tub with missing controls and a drain so corroded it hasnt been plugged in a decade. Two, hurricane shutters on windows that cannot open or close with no curtains. Third, a sliding glass door that only my husband could open. Again corroded and neglected for years. The sliding glass door brings me to my next complaint, misleading room and property descriptions. We paid more for a waterfront room with a balcony. Waterfront is overlooking an active marina and the balcony is a public walkway to the rooms. Im truly sorry for posting this review publicly but I want to save other visitors from being disappointed like we were. Some may ask why did we stayed... Because I mistakenly booked a nonrefundable reservation. Lesson learned!!!
The place is great for a weekend getaway the pool is good and what I like the best is that you can be in the pool until whatever time you liked with no restrictions you can bring your own alcoholic beverage has long is in a plastic container, you will have a great time and the rooms are clean, I got a mini apartment and it was clean and we the supplies that you need.
Excellent service. The resort was beautiful. Could see manatees, stingrays, and sharks right at the beach at the resort.
My husband and I booked 2 rooms for four nights each. The property is near the marina where the sailboat we were in the process of purchasing was docked. The 2nd room was for the owner of the sailboat. On the first night he was forced to switch room because of faulty A/C and fan. He left the property one day early and the Manager was beyond RUDE when I inquired about a credit for the early departure. He further refused to provide me with any receipts for our stay. The hotel has gone DOWNHILL since my last stay several years ago. It was filthy The tile floors grimy, the sliding closet doors were broken and didn’t open. The shower did not have working drain plug (pieces were missing) the bathroom vents were dirty. The walls had holes in them. The window blinds on one side were broken and wouldn’t open. Were were woken up at 1:15 AM to a boat pulling out of its slip BLASTING party music. I’ll never do business with Marina Del Mar again. As I type this review I’m at the Holiday Inn next door because we needed additional days. What a difference!
This place is nice and very comforting with the pool & restaurant. Everyone is very nice but needs to be remodeled and fixed up in the bathroom, kitchen & furniture. We stay every year and would love to see this place remodeled.
It’s unfortunate this hotel did not take the COVID break to improve the facilities. Not even a power wash on the walkways or refreshing the paint in the rooms. While the location is great and the pool area is nice, that’s about all the good news. There is absolutely no protein in their free breakfast. Just carbs and more carbs. Not even a banana, orange or hard boiled eggs! The rooms have very thin walls and you can hear most everything going on.For a post covid time, I don’t get the sense they really sanitize common touch areas like lobby door handles and tables.
My favorite place to stay n Key Largo. Susan, who works the front desk was wonderful and always very helpful and accommodating.
Very decent place to stay for the price!!! Stayed here a few days after my wedding.
Marina Del Mar is an ideal place to come get to know Key Largo. With two restaurants on the property and every type of water activity available by a variety of companies on the canal you really don’t have to leave. The only down fall, and this is more of a lack of investigation tied to some very appealing photos, is the room was not really set up for more then a 1 or 2 day stay. No kitchenette area, no microwave, our room did not have seating for more then 1. It was a double room with 2 double beds so based on some photos of other rooms (I thought they would be our room) and the thought that a double room should have enough space to seat a family I was a little disappointed by the room.Continental breakfast is not full blown. Bagels and cereal are the main meals but they get your day started. We went to both restaurants and were impressed with both. At Skippers while we were eating we were able to see nurse sharks feeding right below us. Lots of wild life on the canal too.Close parking is very limited but there is parking available on site. Only a long walk after a long day in the sun after a few pops.Resort does have WiFi that’s decent in some areas and not so much in others. The staff is the key here as they are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area.Worth a stay but for longer stays make sure you know exactly what the rooms accommodations and size are.
El lugar es ideal para la familia. Es muy cómoda y amplia la habitación. La piscina le falta mejorar la condición (retoque de pintura) aunque lucia limpia.
Clean rooms, good location in Key Largo. The hotel is old but the cleanliness of the room make it up for me. I would stay here again if I ever wanted to visit Key Largo again.
Key Largo is beautiful. Marina is old style, comfortable rooms, staff is polite.
Great views and fantastic service
Even though we had some hiccups and because of this, we decided to stay elsewhere for our vacation. However, Sharon and her General Manager, made things right! This says a lot about this hotel and I commend them for this. Hotel needs updating, but it would not stop me from possibly coming back. The boat docking situation was a bit of a mess and that needs some work and organization. We later learned that the marina is a little short staffed.Overall, my experience was positive solely based off Sharon and her Manager going above and beyond!
Nice place to stay in Key Largo. Great pool, nice clean rooms and a restaurant close to the resort. Trips offer for snorkeling, diving, fishing... all.Heated pool!
Its got the laid- back island vibe!
We spent the weekend there from 08/21/20-08/24/20.The hotel is ok, but the conditions for the room was horrible for the price with we paid (almost $300 per night). The bathroom has a mold, the fridge has rust, extra. I hope the manager will take care of this.
Its a great hotel, lacks luster with the age of the rooms. You may find a few bugs and no carpet in the rooms. But theyve done a good job updating what they can.
Great place to stay, close to all the restaurants and great water views.
We loved the ambiance of this facility. Loved overlooking the marina. Definitely our kind of place. We will come back, maybe by boat next time.
Before i booked this hotel i read the reviews and a lot complained about the hotel being run down. Upon arriving it was a lot nicer than i had expected! The hotel staff was very nice, the beds and bathroom were very clean. They upgraded my room no extra charge because the one i originally booked was sold out. They have two bars/restaurants withing walking distance. The only down side is the limited parking but you can park at Skippers right next to the hotel. I would stay here again no problem. Nice experience
This location is perfect for activities surrounding Key Largo. The resort requires some upgrading especially on the exterior. Their food selection is abundant with carbs and sugars but no proteins or eggs. There outdoor eating is a plus :D
Loved loved loved.. never been in the keys but will definitely be there if not this coming fall but next year
A little dated, but enjoy staying there.
Wonderful time was had by all.
We booked there because it is near John Pennecamp State Park where a series of popular coral reefs are located and we wanted to go snorkeling there. Most of the dive charter boats are docked walking distance from the hotel. When we went to our room we were pleasently surprised to find it was on the second floor with a great view of the water way leading to the Atlantic and the offshore reefs. The room turned out to be a suite with the king size bed in a separate room from the kitchen, front room and balcony. The bedroom had a separate tv from the front room. There is a great water front restaurant there, Skippers, with indoor and outdoor dining. They also have a large pool and a nice outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the continental breakfast. My only complaint is we could not connect to WIFI in our room.
Love this marina! Nice clean rooms, wonderful staff and location. Also great continental breakfast. Prices are better here than most in the keys: would stay here again.
Bad service. Pool water make your skin itchy and a pretty boring place. They wont let you have your own food and put on your own music on and the music they have is boring. Judgemental towards Latinos. It feels like they are watching you every moment even if you are doing nothing wrong. And they have strict rules that they dont tell you before you pay
Nice clean bathroom but the floors were dirty. Had to wash my feet before putting my shoes on. Not pricey but not luxurious, either.
The room that was given to us was old and outdated, but the customer service was great and they made up for the lack of modern rooms by discounting our nightly rate. The location was very good.
I liked the location and friendly staff. Huge disappointment about Wi-fi not available in the room (it works weak strength only at the dining area and lobby)
Nice place to stay, good breakfast, poor wifi if your room is far away lobby
Its a decent place. Hotel and rooms need serious renovation. Super small bathroom. Pet fee a bit high when they have tile floor and its not even clean to begin with. Things like dusting and cleaning of vents is over looked since years ago, even the rack where they put your clean towels are caked on with thick black dust. Breakfast is super limited and only tables outside in the heat. The hotel does have nice views of the marina. Beds were comfortable. Very limited parking spots.
Good location..gets lively at night..comfy beds..
Noisy. But well situated. Nice walk around the harbor.
Lot of parking spaces, bar and grill on premises. The Marina is awesome with variety of activities to chose from. Clean and ample rooms.
Great place close to a lot of laces
Clean room, tiled floors throughout was nice. Im giving it two stars because 1) parking lot was too small for the number of rooms they have so we had to keep parking in their overflow lot which really wasnt that bad but still an inconvenience, 2) we had a one inch open space at the bottom of our entrance door so you could see the lights outside...felt exposed, 3) our room was close to the bar beside the hotel...loud all night so make sure your away from it, and 4) no protein on the breakfast bar...they just had bagels, danishes, oatmeal and juice. For the price we paid, should be more substantial foods. But, all in all, not too bad.
Positive: Great location. Lovely views of the marina. Negative: Room needs to be updated.
We early check in, they give us a two queen bed suite, include big kitchen and refrigerator, etc. Thats very big plus. We stay there for 3 nights, only 1st we able to connect to WiFi, the rest of days and nights couldnt connect to the WiFi. We have to stay in the lobby areas to get WiFi.
Clean and nice staff and the pools open till 11pm!!!
Pretty clean roomFriendly staffTwo restaurants very closeGREAT POOLBoats everywhere
I liked that we could have our dog. Being on the top floor we had a lovely view but the hurricane shutters were broken and wouldn’t stay open unless propped with something. Closet doors wouldn’t work and furniture was broken and desk clerk unconcerned. Check-our day elevator broke down but fortunately it was repaired quickly.
Lovely people, cool spots, and a wonderful place to stay.
Very relaxing. Food was great
Great location. The hotel itself is not greatly renovated, elegantly appointed or very modern, but if youre in the Keys to see the sites and maybe enjoy a good swim in the pool downstairs it doesnt disappoint in either of these regards, which are each actually very well kept and worth the stay.
My family and I spent 4 nights at Marina Del Mar over the 2017 holidays, mostly because of the Dive Shop next door and the shipwrecks nearby. We are experienced divers (he has over 1,000 dives, and she has over 500, daughter has almost 50) and travelers. We love the ocean and its critters. Husband loves the ship wrecks. We have stayed at MANY different diving destinations and can honestly say that this facility is well managed and comfortable. When we complained about the noise from the local bar, Daniel at the front desk was very kind and helped us switch to a suite that was quieter. The murphy bed was perfect for our teenager, and she had a TV of her own in the living area. Our bedroom was private, had a nice TV, and the mattress was firm. We had A HUGE WALK-IN CLOSET (?) that ended up being very helpful. The bathroom in the suite had two sections - toilet and shower in one room with a door, and then a washing area with a huge counter and two sinks. One person can be showering while another is using the sink and both have privacy. CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS GOOD! But it could have had some fresh fruit... only had juices. There was a variety of eats ! We ended up bringing the food back to our room so we wouldnt have to wait on line to toast our bagels. Our room had a toaster, a fully stocked kitchenette with dishes, silverware, microwave and full size fridge. We were also able to fill our empty water bottles with fresh clean cold water from a cooler in the lobby. This was so nice, b/c water costs money otherwise. $2/bottle
Very nice property from the outside I didnt stay overnight
Marina in very good condition. morning brkfst less than basic.quiet at night. local restaurant very good
Very nice, planning on staying there for a weekend in mid July.
$200 for a decent room and cheap breakfast.
Dont stay here the rooms smelled musty, the sinks faucet moved and lifted when tried to use it. The shower was a trickle of water. The toilet was broken would not flush ( but they did fix that). The seat was broken also on toilet which they did not fix. The window shutters would not open/ close from inside room like they were supposed to, these you had to lift open/closed from the outside. The parking was horrid as well small lot overflow parking at the restaurant next door. When told front desk about sink shower and toilet everything they said well let maintenance know and left it at that. No Im sorry for the inconvenience nothing. I was there for a wedding & will not stay here again and I do not recommend this to anyone. So disappointed!! The ads always make it look nice but nope!!! Nope !!! NOPE !!!!!!
Clean, spacious. We had apt. On 2nd floor. Huge balcony with chairs, great pool and 2 restaurants. Beautiful marina. Music on Sunday. I was with all 5 of my sisters, on a reunion weekend, and the place was fantastic.
Positive: Location was good. Room was large and amenities good. Pool area was great and attached restaurant (Skippers) was good. The laid back atmosphere was perfect. Negative: Its a tired facility that needs some TLC. However, was very relaxing.
Love this place, will definitely return!
There are newer and maybe better properties but we really like this place and its location to restaurants and things to do. Dog friendly and entry of space to walk the dog..
Beautiful place. Nice and quiet
Beautiful place. Will come back
This resort was quite the place to go to a small get away. Rooms were super clean and the beds sooooo comfortable you just melt into them. The staff and crew were very pleasant and helpful. The complementary breakfast includes cereal, juice, bagels and danishes. Good enough to satisfy your basic needs in the AM to start your day. The 2 issues I had were that if you check in after 10pm you must go down the road to the sister property (holiday inn) and get your room keys and check in. We were not told this in advance so we had to go back and forth a few times because the keys did not work the first time. The other issue was the staff over at the bar/ restaurant next door that are connected to the resort were not friendly and did not seem to smile AT ALL, ESPECIALLY the supervisor. Other than that it was a very pleasant time.
Place is rundown. I dont even want to use the shower. Extremely disappointed. Was not cheap to stay here either. Definitely do not reccomend this hotel.
The location is beautiful! Clean rooms. We’ll be back!
Great place great views great price
Room was outdated and bathroom was not cleaned to its best, furniture was missing knobs and closet doors could not be opened. Exterior is not maintained and elevators are dirty. I will not stay here again.
Great hotel rooms were clean and spacious staff was amazing
Great views, great restaurant, convenient for outside sports fishing snorkeling cruises. Breakfast included, nice pool
Reasonably priced. on the water all the amenities. room was clean. convenient.pool and hot tub nice. would go there again.
Clean, Location perfect for dive boat and reasonable price
Informed upon clk in there was a fishermans tournament going on pool and spa closed all wkend and if we couldnt find parking we could park next door at affiliated holiday inn which was four bldgings down and the just past skippers bar & grill from our room location! Upon entering our room it was nothing like advertised in dire need of updates and thorough cleaning. Bathroom mold, hurricane shutters could not be opened and an at least 20yr old refrig which appeared never cleaned behind only decent tihing was the bedding. Breakfast was also a joke. Upon returning to our room next day after being out all day only to discover both room keys had been deactivated Would never recommend ! Was never offered any special discount or refferal to another place to stay
The bed was dirty we called to get new sheets no one came, the bath tub won’t drain, everything is old. When we went to just let the manager know so they can get it fixed she was so rude talking about it’s a $300 night hotel and that I got it for $180 but not even for $20 I would stay there again. No matter how much you pay no hotel room should be in those conditions. Worst hotel I ever stayed in Florida.
Older hotel. Very clean. Great location. Bars on both sides. Walking distance to many restaurants
Budget hotel room.nice pool. On a marina canal.nice breakfast. Sugar ants in bathroom.
Very nice and relaxing environment
Nice area but hotel wasnt the best and we were on the top floor with no working elevators. My legs were sore from as much climbing we had to do. The area was beautiful thou.
Our first time staying here. Was the best place. We were able to upgrade pur room the second night. My husband is a disabled vet, and we had our service animal with us. She was treated the best. The staff was amazing. Sharon was our favorite. The only thing I would change would be add more parking. Great place we will be going back. The place was recommended by a local state trooper said it was the safest and best in Key Largo.
The building was old it was situated in a nice spot .. the people working there were very pleasant.. no internet!!!!
Positive: The location next to the marina is wonderful. Skippers restaurant has very good food and great entertainment. Bed and pillows were comfy. Negative: The room is in desperate need of renos. Very old looking and dark with no place to plug in electronics. Bathroom was pretty disgusting with peeling paint and old fixtures. Could have been cleaner.
Great stay!! Room was nice and staff was friendly. We dove with Rainbow Reef here and everything was perfect!!!
