I made a mistake of buying tickets the day before, and I thought it was the next day, they were so kind, even showed that they were wondering where me and my fiance were, so they adjusted my tickets and let us watch the movie anyway no charge. I lost my phone, and they noticed I was distressed and they were kind enough to help look. Obviously I have found my phone. Thank you guys for an amazing experience. Watched Captain Marvel and a documentary on the huge IMAX screen and loved it. The prices are reasonable (especially if you join the free IMAX Directors Club) and the staff is really nice and helpful as well. Parking in the garage is also free if you watch a movie. Awesome experience!

True IMAX experience. Uses the proper projection and giant screen. I drive 2 hours to see IMAX films here when they are shot with IMAX cameras (AKA Christopher Nolan films).

I ussally love this theater But today I went to go see Tannet. And we showed up for the first show of the day. They had Technical difficulties and cancelled the show. They did give me a refund but not before I spent 30 dollars in food. I drove down from a different city to come to THIS location and it was a complete Disaster. I don’t know if I’ll be back.

The show was great the food and popcorn were wonderful. And the customer service was through the roof. Cant wait to go back.

Prices are steep not going to lie. But management and service has always been great at this place. The food does not taste too bad and the theater is usually kept clean. They have a lot of fun events and most of the new movies. Also in a great museum on the canal.

Our favorite theater downtown. Parking is simple and validated by a ticket purchase. Being connected to the museum means they have nature or science movies during the day and regular releases later on. Seats are comfortable and the sound is impeccable. On release nights they will usually have extra experiences to enhance the movie

Watching movies at IMAX is amazing. You feel like your in the movie almost. The screen size is huge and the sound is something you have to experience instead of me trying to explain it. We mainly go for the Star Wars movies. The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi are the movies I have watched at IMAX. They shoot those in the same film media as IMAX so you are seeing it the way the director intended. Make sure you purchase tickets in advance and reserve seats in the middle of theater if possible. Row does not really matter, just the location in the particular row.( Middle of row). I will be there in December to check out The Rise of Skywalker, the last movie for that saga. It makes already awesome movies more awesome. Parking is in state museum parking garage and its usually free. Concession lines are usually long unless your super early. I usually bring my own candy, drink, etc. So I dont have to mess with long wait. Definitely recommend!

We took my 5 year old here for his first IMAX experience! He absolutely loved it. We watched the short film about pandas. This is always my go to IMAX theater. Very clean, huge theater, lots of seating, great concession! It’s a nice bonus to the Museum. You can enjoy some downtime and see an educational, and entertaining, movie in between exhibits and lunch!!

I live this theater and have several fond family memories here. The museum is great, and the Christmas tree with the county ornaments is great. The Ayres Tea Room is great. I love that the museum has carried over this. I also appreciate that chicken velvet soup is also available in the cafe when the Tea Room is closed.

Ive seen several movies here, but most notably the soundtracks for Interstellar and Doctor Sleep are absolutely jaw dropping. Of course, its got a massive screen, in fact the largest in Indiana, but the most impressive feature is the sound quality. It really does spoil you.

The movie was fantastic. But my husband is night blind and the lights dont come up far enough for him. He is also disabled and he cant see let alone walk up all those steps. Or down for that matter

Came here to watch Interstellar on the big screen. The movie was good, but the volume was wayyy too loud and I was nauseous from sitting in the front row. I will not be returning unless I can get a seat in the upper third.

Watched 1917 here. The screen is amazing!! The seats, not so much. Some of them, including mine was squeaky and unmovable. But seeing a movie at IMAX is always amazing!

My favorite place to watch epic movies on an epic screen! Normally very clean. My only issue is that there arent too many options at the concession stand as most other places but other than that, great!

We had a wonderful time. The staff is friendly and helpful. Seats are comfortable, and the whole theater is impeccably clean.

Fantastic theater, the seats are very comfortable. Easy in and out. Good parking but I think its normally going to be pay parking. Good sound system, I would love to see a good sci fi flick hear. I did not do snacks but they smelled good. It was a good experience.

Very nice having a full-sized IMAX theater to go to. They recently renovated the interior and put in much more comfortable seats. The theater is very clean, and the staff is courteous. There is an underground parking garage which is free to park in with the purchase of your movie ticket (works for the educational movies as well). Not a lot of variety in the concession stand, but they do have some local craft beers on tap as well as wine.

The lady at the front was very very nice but the people at the concession stand was rude because we didnt want our popcorn before we went to the IMAX as we was going to walk around and they made a really big deal about it and I was rude so dont really care for but everything else was great.

Awesome experience watching Endgame here! Comfy seats and the sound and picture were great. Sound was loud enough but not too loud as I have experienced at other theaters!

We went to go see the new starwars movie and the place was great.

This is the ONLY place to watch IMAX movies in Indianapolis. The other IMAX theater doesnt have as big of screen and is only digital. Boooo!

Better seats! New seating installed. If you havent been in a while come back seats are way more comfortable than in the past.

While the concession stands were great and the IMAX experience itself was stellar, the navigation to get to the restrooms leaves something to be desired. They ask you to go out the top, but you are not allowed to re enter from there. This means figuring out how to get back to the 1st floor entrance, which is surprisingly far. They then have that entrance roped off, but say you’re allowed to go under it. Why even have it roped off then? Still 4 stars though, since this is a somewhat minor complaint compared to how awesome the screen and audio is.

The premiere of Skywalker @ IMAX, which by the way was pretty cool.What wasnt pretty cool was the cramped seating... No room for anyone to get by me once I was seated.. Luckily I was seated in the very first seat in the row, so I just stood up until showtime, because getting up and down would have played hard on my knees. IMAX is lucky I like STAR WARS so much.They offer convenient refills on the popcorn n stuff, but dont offer an easy way to get those refills without having to excuse your way past 20 other fanboys/fangirls. Increasing your time away from the film, then having to re-excuse your self back to your seat, by that time the whole theatre could be up in arms because of their cramped seating nearly half of the theatre would be involved in your mid-movie excursion. Very inconvenient, but hey!!! The screens 90 million feet tall and the sounds amazing! Choose your theatre wisely, young Padawan. It could be your last!!!

I think its overpriced, I usually go to amc theaters this place doesnt feel like it belongs. The concession is horrible, the quality was bad, and even more overpriced than amc. $4.50 for a mcdonald size cup. $5.50 for a pretzel. Aint no way. The coke was water downed and the pretzel was fine but not worth it, the popcorn tastes like bagged popcorn. The seats are bad. We sat in the back row and there was a taller person in front of me and luckily he sat back I dont even think he was that tall I just thing the back seats arent high enough, the seats are just normal nothing special at all. For a higher cost than amc, or regals even. The sound was the same as a normal movie. The screen was the same as a normal movie. Confusing parking. It was just all a bad time. I could of saved like 20 bucks going to AMC or anywhere else for better quality.

Ive sat on concrete park benches that are more comfortable than these theater chairs. My back may never recover.

Saw a double feature of Incredibles and Incredibles 2. Screen is huge, sound was amazing. The only drawback is that the rows are so long. We were sitting in the middle and kept having folks step over after arriving late and going to the concession stand.

This was my first time watching a movie on a real IMAX size screen. They have 30m tall screen here and projectors use 70mm film. Very nice experience overall! Highly recommended.I watched Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and preferred 2D over 3D, although they have 3D running as well. The sound and visuals both were pleasing. I had my seat booked a day earlier and sat in the middle seat in the second to last row. The screen almost covers the entire view but it could be better in one or two rows lower. I would try to find a seat in the middle rows next time.

Great IMAX screen. 70mm full IMAX experience, one of the only ones in the state. According to my wife, the chairs can be a little uncomfortable if youre wearing heels because theyre lower to the floor. I thought they were fine.Its cool that its in the state museum. Fun things to explore either before or after your movie.We went on a Saturday night to see Ant Man and the Wasp and it was pretty empty even though the movie has only been out a week.

My daughter and I loved Polar Express 3D and we definitely want to see more movies on the big screen in 3D. There were only us and 4 other people in the whole theatre which I thought was kinda sad, we live out of town or wed visit more often and I highly recommend other people, kids and adults alike to visit frequently to keep a great thing going

Love the IMAX! Its a great place to see all the different documentaries and movies on the huge screen.

The seating is dated and crowded, the refills are a joke as they purposely force you out away from the concession stand, I for one had no idea that if I wanted refills, I had to miss some of the movie. The big screen was cool but the experience as a whole was not. I wont be going back.

First timer. I recommend going during the day. At night navigation is needed to possibly find where to park. Joined w the museum. Also good to know. Staff is friendly and beyond accommodating. Restrooms spic n span. Theatre made me feel special as if part of the movie. Close food places in walking distance.

Always an encompassing movie going experience. The sound is teeth rattling and the 70 ft. screen means your visual field is fully occupied. Definitely my favorite movie experience in the city.

The picture and sound are amazing, can’t be beat. However the new reclining seats are horrible. The chairs in front of you will recline and hit your legs/knees. If you’re tall there is no way to avoid it. I would recommend that they put a restriction on the chairs to only allow them to recline so far as not to interfere with the people behind you.

It was great. We went there for a school field trip and the kids loved it.

I only go elsewhere if thats the only way the night works out. Otherwise, this is the only place Id go to see a true imax or imax 3d movie. If youre trying to replicate a great 3d experience from your childhood and havent found the best place yet, this is it!

The movies are great . There is no butter for the popcorn . Dry popcorn is sadness in a bag. The staff is always super friendly abd that is super nice.

Ive seen a lot of movies here, and its always a fantastic experience. Craig takes great care of the theater and does a wonderful job with his staff and the crowds. Highly recommend; definitely worth the trip, especially if youre into 70mm film!

Best theater in Indiana for IMAX. Sound and picture is always great. Free and ample validated parking at the IMA parking garage! Seats are new but still not very comfortable.Also always a pain to use the restroom in the middle of the movie. If you go up top you can get locked out and have to walk all the way down and back around. They also have a barricade up in front of the doors during the movie. Need to improve ease of access, otherwise a good experience.

Great place to see a movie. Especially if it was shot in 70mm. The movie prices arent outrageous and are sometimes even cheaper than other options. The concessions are the best priced of any of the major theaters in the city. The only knock is there is almost no leg room for people over 6 feet.

The greatest movie theater Ive been to. The screen and projection systems are stunning. The new digital projector is as good as the old film one. Its the largest screen in Indiana and it definitely shows. The sound is earth-shaking yet the surround can be so subtle. To top it off the popcorn is the best Ive had at a movie theater.

First off I want to extend a giant thank you to Patrick Smith from this theater. I made an error on seat selection originally and he was able to get that handled without any hassle. Then on the night of the show (Rogue One) inclement weather caused half of my group to be unable to make it so he promptly switched those seats to another night. What I didnt know is that I had communicated my issue as if I needed all tickets changed. Somehow I ended up in line at the perfect time and ended up in his line at the concession stand. He recognized the name on my ID and was able to recall our interaction from earlier in the day. Had he not I wouldnt have known until i was at the door to walk into the theater. Pat not only saved me a ton of time he spared me the embarrassment that would have resulted from that. All I can say is that if the rest of the staff is even halfway as helpful as he was for me then this should be your go to movie theater from now on, because they definitely proved they care about the customers experience!P.S. the show was great Ill definitely be back

Full IMAX theater showing first-run films. Reserved seating is available online-worth the extra money (about 15$/ticket) for the screen size and sound. Free underground parking.Recently saw 2001: A Space Odyssey here in the restored 70mm academy-ratio print; this is one of the 15 theatres in North America capable of showing this format. Absolutely stunning, and they followed with a bonus; The Dark Knight, also in fullscreen 70mm.

One of my favorite places to see big budget blockbuster movies. 6 story tall IMAX screen well worth the price. The theater also validates as long as you park in the attached underground garage.

Nice place to catch a movie in evening. The shows I have been too there have not been many people. The theater also has great concessions.

Excellent time like always.

Came with about 100 people in my band. Met by an incredibly rude, demanding attendant. We were yelled at to get into a single file line, herded like farm animals into our seats, and commanded to put our 3D glasses on before the screen was even on. We’re all in high school and can think for ourselves. I was in a great mood after spending time with my friends at the museum, but it was completely ruined by the sheer disrespect from the theater attendant.
