For such a simple design and layout, this place offers a truly mind bending experience! The puzzles arent overly elaborate but the problem solving and sequences needed to figure the solutions can be taxing. My wife, our best friend, and I did the Legend of Deadwood and the Mysterious Temple rooms, both rated highest difficulty. And boy, did they deliver! Our time slot for Deadwood saw us fail, but they were generous enough to offer us the following time slot which was vacant(at cost, of course). And it took the entire 2nd time slot for us to come up with the solution for the room. Not for lack of effort, but we used all our hints trying to piece it all together. The Mysterious Temple wasnt quite as difficult, but still offered a bevy of puzzles and clues. That room took us until the last 4 minutes to finally discover the solution, using almost all of our hints, and still being generous enough to help us without spelling it out for us. Nathaniel was our Game Master for both rooms, but there was a young woman who was throwing us small directions, too. For the amount of Escape Room Experiences in the Charlotte area, the rating given to Out Of Time Escapes is well deserved!! If problem solving puzzles and escapes are something you and your friends enjoy, or a team building event for your company outing which this would be excellent for, I highly recommend you give this place a try

Had a corporate team building event here and utilized the meeting room for lunch. Everyone enjoyed trying to solve the clues and escape in time. Would be fun for friends and family too. Nice that they have several themed rooms to pick from.

Dont let the outside of the building fool you. This escape zone has a ton of tricks and fun up its sleeve. Multiple rooms house escape zones with different stories and complex situations. Its a great time out with the family!

This would be the 3rd or 4th escape room we have done. We did the Framed room at out of time escapes and of course they are always a good time with friends, but I would not recommend this room. First the room is really small, so honestly I would not recommend having 6 in your party if you do not want to be on top of each other. Also, it was nothing but locks, and some of the locks were old and were so hard to work. Not sure about the other rooms they have maybe they are better, but for the price I dont know if we would try again.

We had a great time! The staff follow excellent COVID safety rules and provide a great escape room experience. We did the Exit Protocol, a fun secret agent puzzle room, with Gwendolyn as our game master, who was very informative and great to work with. We will definitely be going back especially when they open the Roanoke Experiment.

Let me start off with this was my first ever escape room. The other day I went with my girlfriend on a rainy day to do any escape room. We found this place and we said sure let’s try it. We were highly impressed with the staff and the rooms. They were extremely friendly and answered all my questions. Our host let us stay and finish the room after we failed to get out which was really nice and super fun to talk to him. We were also given a tour of some of the other rooms and they were very detailed. I would highly recommend.

Came here for a birthday and because we love escape rooms! We were not disappointed! Loved the Sherlock room, which had unique puzzles and a fun story. Cant wait to come back and try to solve another! Thanks Amanda - youre awesome!

Had a great experience. We love doing escape rooms and had yet to experience Out of Time Escape. Very glad that we did. Gwendolyn (hopefully spelled correctly) did a fantastic job of being extremely thorough and pleasant. We were able to complete the room with no hints. We prefer the challenge and feeling of achievement by never asking for hints. We dont care for rooms that are too abstract, filled with red herrings, or far fetched. Glad to experience the fun, challenging room at Out of Time; yet was truly solvable. Look forward to coming back and trying another room soon.

One of the best birthday parties we ever had! Our 10 yr old and her friends had a blast in the temple treasure hunt room. The clues were challenging enough to keep them engaged but also simple enough for them to figure out with the help of hints. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for a fun group activity with friends, family or colleagues.

4 of us did the Sherlock Room. It was so much fun! The room was challenging but not impossible. We had a blast! We will be coming back for sure to see what the other rooms have in store!!

The rooms are creative and fun. The owner and game masters are very professional, understanding and accommodating. We loved each room we have played and look forward to returning. Sherlock was challenging yet the puzzles were fun. We enjoyed Framed and mysterious temple. looking forward to going back for Exit Protocol.

This place was great, they have some great rooms and are adding more. The difficulty is spot on so make sure you know what you are getting into. We did Deadwood and let me tell you is was difficult but a very good roomIf you decide to try this room you probably want more than the five we had, we almost escaped in the time given. I cannot wait to see what other rooms are like at this place!

These guys are out of the box thinkers. The room ideas are clever and make it a challenging experience.I take our office here every Christmas for our annual outing.Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Adam was our game master and we played Deadwood. The room was great and with Adams help we were able to escape with with 1 min 56 seconds left on the clock! Cant wait to go back and do another room there!

All in all I had a good time here. The customer service was great and the process getting into the room was well done. The room (Mysterious temple) compared to other places where i have been was a little easier which depending on how many rooms you have done can be both good and bad. This is not to say that i did not enjoy the room, I did.

Enjoyed the challenge. The room had great artifacts and details.

So much fun!!!! We had a blast! Our party of four did two of the rooms and both were uniquely fun and creative. The instructions were clear and the staff offered support when needed. I HIGHLY recommend Out of Time Escape!

Came to this place on a whim when in town. The location was a but hard to find as its located in a business park. Beware, your GPS will say you arrived the moment you turn into the business park but theyre located a little further back.The room we had was pretty difficult but we had a lot of fun. Everyone was fully participating and having fun. I dont think would have fully gotten all the puzzles without using our clues but everything was really thought out!Only lost a star due to location since it was hard to find and if the group in front of you starts late, it does take awhile for them to reset the room.

We got a chance to play this a while ago. Staff there is great! They were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There were unique elements in each of the two games we played that made the games fun and challenging. Our only knock on it is the rooms were generally pretty small and we even just single rooms. Far more enjoyable with larger spaces and multiple rooms to progress through. But if youre in the area, certainly worth the visit.

Loved our experience here. Went with several people who had never done an escape room before. Nathaniel was patient answering all our questions and so kind and accommodating when members of our group arrived slightly late. Extremely positive experience and phenomenal introduction to escape rooms for the majority of our group.

My wife and our friends cannot get enough of this place, the owner is always there and you can tell truly how much work that they out in to make their rooms really fun. All the props are very well put together. Reasonably priced and well worth it!

Ive done several escape rooms in the area and Out of Time Escape is by far the best.

I went here for the first time with work for a team building exercise. It was so much fun that my friends and I went back twice the next week. We broke out of two of the three rooms and had such a blast. I do wish they offered a Groupon or coupon of some sort because it can get very pricey ($80 for 3 people).

I went here with my company for a team building exercise. We had had a blast. Locked in a room, with an hour time limit. Had to you use clues to figure out how to get to the next clues to finally get out of the room. Great experience.

So friendly. The rooms are challenging but still fun. If you havent tried escape rooms I would recommend them. If you have kids I would recommend them twice. This place is very kid friendly. Nothing scary or off putting in the rooms. I ha e tried them all.

My office went to Breakout Lake Norman for a team building event before our annual Christmas luncheon. We chose the room called The List, b/c it was holiday themed and we had to break into Santas desk to retrieve his naughty list with our names on it. The whole event was awesome! The clues were very clever and tricky, but they offer additional assistance along the way if needed. It was so much fun and I highly recommend! Cant wait to do it again! The Escape Room was a Christmas present for all the guys in the family, from 15-50 years old. We had a great time, and everyone in the group said they would like to do it again. The facility was clean and easy to find, and the staff were great. We did escape with almost 10 minutes to spare.

First time doing one of these places and this didnt disappoint. We were with another family and had a really good time! The challenges were tough but made you think and work with a team. I will be back!

Out of Time Escape is a pretty solid escape room experience. I would highly recommend Exit Protocol as I felt it was a really good room experience with different sorts of puzzles than their other rooms. Framed was good, and had mostly good puzzles with a couple of frustrating parts. Also, in the Mysterious Temple there was one spot that you really had to get a clue for. Talking to several groups that did the room and we all felt the same way. I am looking forward to trying the Sherlock Holmes room, as its supposed to be the hardest one there.

I personally completed, with the help of 5 other people, the hardest room their which I believe is called the temple. It has very difficult and interactive puzzles that make completing it with friends or family extremely fun. There staff is also very friendly and passionate about their jobs. I plan on going back to complete other rooms in the future.

If you have done other escape rooms previously, this was a little bit of a let down. Some of the clues were a little too simple and not that creative (Dont over think them). We had fun definitely but not the highest quality room.
