This was the perfect stop on our travels north on I-77. Not far out of the way with gas stations at the exits. Nice restrooms, the picnic areas were covered and clean and the park was a lot of fun for the kids. Overall very well kept park and will surely stop to struck or legs on future travels.
They have bathrooms - not portable potties. And a playground appropriate for younger ages. My 2 years could play without me worrying too much. Theres also a sandbox, swings and so much more. My 10 month old was also able to walk barefoot without getting his feet scratched like on those woodchips or rocks. The playground had that nice turf to walk and fall on. Loved it.
Wow, who knew a park had so many amenities. Most of the parks in Charlotte are decent but Huntersville park is very clean and well manicured. Its not the largest park in our area but from the basketball, softball and other fields Its really top notch. They have plenty of parking. I would recommend this park for family reunions, tournaments etc.
Its a very nice park with great MB trails for beginners and intermediate. There is a nice little pump track that can really help riders gain some experience. There are only a few places for sitting so bring chairs/blanket so you dont look like you pooped your pants when you stand up. On a positive, if you do poop your pants there are usually some muddy areas you can pretend to fall down in to cover any stained pants.
Well maintained municipal park with lighted public tennis courts, ball fields with batting cages, soccer fields, outdoor basketball courts, bike trail, and playground for little kids. Open most days 9AM until dusk. Restrooms are easily accessible and clean most of the time. There is a limited choice concession booth on site that operates on game days. Parking is problematic on baseball game days so be prepared for creative parking or a nice walk.
Older park with lots of trees and shade - great intimate soccer fields with paved track surrounding the fields. great for having a run while your little one practices or plays on the team. Parking is really tight though so on game day be prepared to park and hike.
Big, busy park. Lots to do here: soccer fields, baseball fields, basketball courts, a large playground and a wooded trail.Lots of rec sports being played here so expect tight parking on evenings and weekend. There is a wooded trail that is approximately 2.9 miles.
Huntersville best park. Soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball, your able to do it all in one place. Even has a place for you to take your bike off roading!
Had a good time here with family. Has many practice nets for kids and adults. Play area for toddlers and small kids. It also has small trail walk . A a very small cycling area.
Great beautiful park. Tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball. Two playgrounds. Great place to take the kids.
Very well taken care of. Never have had or seen anyone in distress. Plenty of room to relax.
Great place. Nice fields, pretty nice basketball courts.
Nice park. Sandbox could be cleaned a little overall fun time with the kids.
Have a nice playground for the kids, lots of parking, and they have an intermediate mountain bike trail
Awesome place to spend with family n friends.
The walking path with along the soccer field is a good stroll. The tennis courts and basketball courts are kept up.
Good walking path.
Nice park, pretty busy on the weekends
Great park, love the new playground!
Great park. Access to a few baseball fields. Kids playground. Dog walking area. And a great area to go for a jog
Saturday mornings at this park is all that is right with Parks and Recreation for town citizens. Families spending quality time together through sports and fitness. The grounds are always well kept. Parking can be tight at the ball fields but not an issue. Get out and get active at North Meck.
Really nice tennis and other various facilities
Great place to hang out, play tennis or soccer or basketball! We like to rent one of the ‘roofed’ areas to have gatherings.
Excellent park for running, soccer, and basketball with a few playgrounds
For as long as Ive lived here, this was my first time going to this park. Honestly, its a great place. The fields are well kept, the courts (tennis and basketball) are all in good shape, the playgrounds for kids had a good variety of equipment to play on, and there was a great mix of people here, all enjoying the outdoors.
This park is very well maintained. All of the ball fields are in good condition always. There is a 3.5 mile lope trail through the woods, which if walking will give you a good work out. You share the trail with cyclists, which are probably watch the ground, more than watching for you. That is the only issue I see. Just walk the opposite direction on the trail, so that you will be able to see them coming! They are also putting in a new playground for the kids, looks quite nice.
For short MTB trail it has everything.
Just an awesome park, with so much to do. You can watch a Baseball game, play Tennis, or go hiking! A great place to have a mini cookout, or just a good time with the kids on the playground.
Lots of fun for the kiddos and lots of places for adults to sit down. Busy on a Monday afternoon but was really nice!
That butterfly spring rocking chair is dangerous! Two different kids in one visit got injured on it (one with a busted up nose!) Sand box needs a good sifting as its full of sticks and leaves. Other than that it was super fun and well maintained!
Great park! Fields for multiple sports and bike trails!
Its small and thats why i like it. Not a ton of people
Great place for the family. 2 baseball fields and one softball. About 8 full tennis courts. And 3 full court basketball courts. There is also a little dirt bike trail for the tikes, and a regular bike trail. Front gate is under construction as I last visited 3/19/19. You have to enter through the church next to the park.
Nice tennis courts, but cracks in the courts and no drinking water.
Very good and calm place to stay for walking and running
They had some great bike trails that they claim are beginner friendly which for the most part is true but there are some very technical spots where it was challenging
I only wish it had a splash pad and that the covered shelter wasnt part of the bathroom access area. I would definitely go back again though!
It is a great area plenty of sports fields, multiple playgrounds, and just a lot of space for the kids to burn off some energy. Also usually very well kept
Good place to get some miles in after work because of convenience. Way too much traffic when wet.. trail has deteriorated a lot in the last few years because of people riding the trail right after rain
Great park take my daughter here all the time. Two playgrounds and huge areas for frisbee!
2 different areas with play equipment, lots of toys & swings, open areas to fly kites. All around baseball fields.
Great little park for walking or playing sports
Very nice place. Only the biking trails I dont like. I guess its just me but they are way too bupmy and dangerous .with they had a biking alea for those who wants to bike and suck at mountain biking
Love the bike trail
Walk the 3.5 trail almost every day. Love the woods.
Not bad
The park was in great shape, and the playground for the kids was fantastic! The sand pit is a favorite in our family!
Love this park. There is a large park in the front with lots to do and a smaller park in the back that is far less crowded
Such a nice park. Very family friendly! We always come back!
Big park with nice playground and swings
This is a great park for children. I wish I lived closer. I took my students as part of a field trip. Very shady and lots of activities for the children.
Also my local trails nice trails with wee pump track at beginning could use more jumps and berms on trail but fun workout type trails is what they are to me
We met another family here and stayed until dusk! There is something for everyone to do here at this park!!
The park is hidden off of Old Statesville Rd (115) and south of Sam Furr (73). There are ball fields, slides, swings, teeter totter, and other things for young kids to enjoy. The have a BMX track and other areas of this 100 acre park to explore. They have public restrooms and place that you can reserve for private events.
Nuce space, good parking. Shelters, bathrooms, family friendly.
Nice shady trees, sandbox with toys, playground suitable for younger toddlers.
Well maintained park with a pump track and singletrack
The park was redone this year and so friendly for small and big kids.
Great park for mountain biking. The trail is a beginner/intermediate skill level but it is not too long, about 3 miles. The trail is also used by trail runners so keep an eye out for them.
The new play structure is great! Lots more seating
Lovely park
Walking trail was a .35 mile pavement track around soccer fields. No poop bag stations in sight makes this not super pet friendly.
Mostly baseball diamonds for small kids and kid events but there is a bike trail too... Its Huntersville so look like you model for LL Bean...
Nice park near home.
Playground, tennis, bike trails, basketball, baseball fields, soccer fields and pavilions. Great family park.
So so nice to have a wonderful park with a sand pit that has trucks and shovels and other toys, plus a FABULOUS playground that has been expanded in the last few years. Tons of shade for Summer too! Only didn’t get 5 stars because often there are daycare groups that bring busses of children here to play and it is sometimes gets way too crowded because of that.
My kids are 8 years apart in age. This park is perfect for both of them.
Nice park but basketball courts need little rehab.
Come here all the time! So much fun every day
Beautiful, plenty of parking, plus tennis, softball, baseball, basketball, and soccer can all be played here.
Really nice playground with plenty of shade near it
I wish the paved walking path had more shaded areas
Great park. Ballfields, playground, restrooms, picnic shelters, trails for bike riding, etc. I just attended a health fair located there today put on by Lighthouse Community Events. Great event at a great location. There were other community events going on there as well.
Very nice park, well laid out
Very good softball fields
Updated playground is nice!
Great place for my kids to play. We played Basketball at the courts and had a lot of fun. bathrooms were clean and easily accessible
Great park. Tons to do and a mountain bike trail!
Nice basketball court with bathrooms. I think it has night lights too
Great place for a picnic, to walk your dog play tennis watch baseball games and the like.
Nice all around public park with easy access and facilities with wheel chair friendly access also. Great mountain bike/running trail that is 2.5 miles, that could be considered an intermediate level skill level, also a beginner course for young children
Love this park ever since they redid the playground
Great clean park.
Awesome biking trail, albeit a bit short. The pump track is fun to play on. Lots of parking, and easy to get to.
My kiddo loves the park.
We love this park! Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Great playground with a giant sandbox. Restrooms and picnic tables. Nice walking trails.
Clean, well maintained park with resteooms. Walking and biking trails. Baseball fields and more!
Great baseball diamonds, they got like four, theyre dirt and grass, no artificial turf, but kept in good shape. they have a playground to thats very nice for kids that arent playing baseball
Fun park for all ages
Great park for any family.
Mountain bike trails are just okay, very rooty.
