Fisherman really keep this place clean. Awesome view of diamond head crater. Fresh and clean environment... very peaceful.

Its so peaceful over there. If youre looking for a lonely place thats the perfect spot. You can rent a boat too and enjoy yourself or with family and friends on the ocean.

Nice lookout point that is only a short drive from Waikiki. Great view of the open ocean and there is a theme park nearby.

Its hard to decipher if you can come to the park or not. I hear so many stories of people getting tickets for even sitting in their cars!

Place is nice n clean, its more of a park than a beach. Good for get togethers, BBQ or just to hangout n enjoy the scenery.. The bay itself have numerous watersports like canoeing, jetsking, kayaking, surfing,snorkeling, parasailing etc...by businesses operating from the marinas.However, the highlight of this beach park and the reason i go there besides some fishing is because I believe this is the only place during low tide that you can walk out pretty far out onto the reefs that are mostly made up of sand. Ive even seen people walk with their dogs out there. Its Awesome!

Great for fishing and kayaking. Boat launch that was not busy so easy to use.

Maunaloa was really packed & the parking lot was full several days in a row. We found Spencer beach just down the road from maunaloa and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great for snorkeling, but watch out for sea urchins on the reef.

The best place on the east side to watch the sunset

Maunalua Bay Beach Park is one of those less mobbed but just as good beaches not far from Honolulu. I love the view of Koko Head from there over the blue water.

Beautiful view and serene when I was there. Not many people and it had just rained and the coastal view was rad.

The Sand bar is so very nice to see.White Sand bar and see life.

Another great place to visit, take in the ocean views, do some swimming or snorkeling, also fly fishing.

Visited this park as part of island tour of Honolulu. Narrow park with beach and ocean views. Not many people there and several people in water using water scouters. Noisy as it is beside the main highway to coastal beaches on the southeast of Oahu. Nice view, may not be great for longer stops. The bay is beautiful with clear blue reflection. This is a popular spot for motorized craft such as jet sky. It is right across the highway from the Hawaii Kai town centre mall. You can pick up food for your picnic at Costco or one of the restaurants located in the mall. As to earlier comments of not safe, you should not be taking valuables to any beach park.

Not the best beach in Hawaii, but if you love a quiet, and relax beach. This one is for you

Surprisingly, this was one of the few spots we found that had a number of shells and coral to collect on the south shore.

Great stop to by if your making a pit stop. They have some activities close by and also a small court area across the street for some quick pick me ups or just getting something to eat

Its a good place to see cannon racing.

Restroom facilities are hard to find here. This spot is only good for launching boats, or loading up passengers. A little further down the road there is a small beach which is usually packed.

Special time keep forever memories.

Nice area, definitely some things to do if youre interested. Had a nice Dive out in the reef.

Mt family love this park. The water is not rough and its shallow for the little ones.

Kinda run down nothing fun here. They may have events and thats probably the time to go. But it was nice n quiet.

Kids loved finding shells and watching the hermit crabs and regular crabs crawl around.

Great boat ramp and beautiful spot. Not much beach but the next one over has alot more.

This little beach park is actually a gem. Sand has covered the once Rocky, slimy shelf and now it sand from the shoreline out to 200 yards. Shallow and calm enough for little kids to enjoy without worrying about surf, undertow, etcThe shallow water leaves a fun sandbar for picnics, water football or just horsing around. The park has restrooms, showers, numerous picnic tables, and huge grassy area for soccer, volleyball, kites, frisbee, etc. Definitely worth a stop.

Nice place to stop

A MUST go to spot if visiting Hawaii. Get there early! The parking lot has only 300 spots and they fill up quick. Opens at 7:00am. Parking lot is fully by 7:30-8:00. If parking lot is fully, you are forced to park at the bottom of the hill in a residential neighborhood and walk. NOT a fun walk. Especially on a hot day. Parking lot entry price is $1 for the car. You read that right (one dollar). To get into the Bay itself, is less than $10 per person. Stay as long as you want. There is a shuttle you can take to get down to the water/beach. Its only $2.50 per person. The walk DOWN isnt bad but after a day of swimming/snorkeling/diving, you probably dont care to walk back up the steep thing!You must watch a video that gives a brief history of the Bay. Its 9 minutes long.

There is parking and theres a bathroom! Its not a good place to swim but for other swimming activities is great!

HUGE parking lot with 2 boat ramps, and a soft spot to launch kayaks on the far right near the outrigger canoes.Though this isnt the prettiest beach Park, its a really great spot for beginner paddlers and kayaking as the shallow waters are fairly calm and waist deep in case you fall off.Only issue is there is no shade here or much sand, more rocks and carpark with a bit of grass so bring a tent.

A good place to watch the sun set behind/next to Diamond Head. Lots of parking. Typical beach park bathrooms. The beach itself is very narrow, rough and coarse coral/rocks. Zero surf, extremely shallow out to the boat channel. Lots of watercraft during the day and on weekends. Very few picnic tables. Always a large family luau or church picnic most weekends.

My husband and I were married here so this place holds a very special place in our hearts! Convenient parking, Palm trees, view of the gorgeous Oahu shorelines. Its got it all ️

Chill place to park, sit a while, or stay all day with a lovely scene to view just down the road from Hanauma Bay.

I wasnt at Maunalua Bay Beach Park. I was at Kuliouou Community Beach Park, although Google Maps mistakenly thinks I was at the former, and this review thingy popped up. Oh well. At any rate, it was nice. I go there every day. Come to think of it, Maunalua Bay Beach Park is okay too.
