Excellent, intense, brief fireworks! The hotel says it is at 7:45 but that is only the suggested time that you get there. The viewing location near the cantina gets full of beach blankets, so that is right. The prime viewing is along the orange cones blocking off the end of the Rainbow Tower, which prevents inconsiderate oafs from standing when the show starts and blocking your photo-taking..The fireworks are lit from the coned area, so you are quite close. That means a great show, but it also means it is loud and you feel the concussion when the rockets launch and explode. Its like the subwoofer you wish you could afford! It could also frighten children, so please consider that..The show lasted 4 minutes in our experience, beginning at 8:06. That was plenty of time to enjoy the excellent variety of shells and effects. The whole of the experience is wonderful and a must-do if you stay at the village..Be aware that when it is over, the crowd jams the departure routes. Be patient, and make your way over to the WikiWiki store for shave ice. Thats an exclamation point on the evening.
Pyrotec setup is right on the beach near the end of Kahanamoku Beach, 30 min before it starts security will guard the area and tell off people who are too close. Depending on wind they may rope off quite a bit of the beach. When the show starts you will be glad they did lol. Also beware of falling ash and debris. Stay safe.
Short but good show. They were not super high end fireworks shot higher into the air, but was dull fun for a free show.
I suspect this could be a really good display, but like everyone else who crammed on to Waikiki beach tonight I missed it. Its at the next beach down. At the Hilton Lagoon, get yourself to Kahanamoku Beach!
Experienced great memories for my family
