So far so good. We had a great check-in experience and the employees were very nice. This property has several pools and very close to the ocean. They also have BBQ grills, corn hole and other games.

Covid has cut out all activities. Is different from previous years. Condo is clean and comfortable. Will be different but better than being in Illinois.

The place is okay...its not high end. For the price, I just expected more. Even though its SC, it would be nice if they screened in the balconies. You can tell they tried to update the finishes, but fell short in a few areas. One being their enhanced cleaning procedures. Good thing is I always travel with cleaning supplies. The kitchen and bath were the cleanest areas on a scale of Not Clean At All to Fair. All other high touch areas like dining room chairs, end tables and night stands were filthy! We were also greeted by a roach in the dishwasher. That just confirmed the age of the resort and the band-aid updates thats been attempted. Due to COVID, all activities on site were canceled. As such, I feel they shouldnt charge for the Bike Rentals. Even if the pandemic wasnt the case, Ive stayed at other resorts where there was no charge for Bike usage. Another issue I had was the linens...it felt like I was sleeping in paper bags! They were stiff, hard and didnt provide for the most restful sleep. I guess the best part of the resort is the location...its away from the congestion of the other resorts. Also, SlapFish restaurant was pretty good!

Ive visited several properties here. SurfWatch is by far the best Ive been to. Amazing, tranquil views, relaxing atmosphere and so close to the beach. Even a complimentary shuttle service from practically your doorstep to the sand at the beach. I will definitely move this resort to the top of my list for all future visits.

Awesome staff and great service. The resort is very clean. Having a great and safe time on vacation. If you come here gotta go to the beach bar (sea salts) the food is great and the bartenders are some of the nicest people you can meet.

This is an absolutely fabulous vacation resort. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation.1. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.2. Our room had an ocean view, which was so worth it for beautiful mornings.3. The beach was beautiful, since the tide goes in and out, it stamps the sand down, which makes walking and riding bikes very easy.4. The resort has a number of extra amenities. Indoor and out door pools (both are heated), as well as hot tubs5. Rental bikes that can be rented for the day or week. They have bike sizes for every age.6. There are fire pits and BBQ grills everywhere7. The workout room has everything you need8. The sauna is off each bathroom (no couples sauna), but it was still very nice9. Cabanas are available around the beach pool or looking at the ocean10.Little movie theater that has 3 movies a day (children, family and adult)We were very happy with this Marriott property, we would love to try more of their locations.

I had an amazing time at this establishment. Its easy to navigate the huge resort. Many of pools to choose from. Huge indoor pool with plenty of games like pool tables, horseshoes, foosball and many more. Severely hot tubs including one indoors. Fitness center. Friendly staff. Large rooms with amazing kitchen and sitting areas. Nice balcony. Huge showers. Easy beach access. All around a very good time. It has something for everyone of all ages. Plenty of daily activities as well. I cant wait to return.

Vents in showere & air ducts were filthy & even dripped w hanging dirt. We were shocked at This at such an upscale venue.Should have complained

One of the nicest beaches I have ever enjoyed. The villa was well equipped and furnished nicely. The staff is helpful and friendly.

SurfWatch is my least favorite of the three major Marriott resorts in Hilton head island. Its very spread out with very little ocean presence. While there is always a cart available to drive you down to the beach, its still a haul. I like Barony or Ocean Watch better, much easier to run up to the room for a drink or but to eat. The pools at SurfWatch are also sub-par. I was honestly disappointed with Marriott for this one. We wont go back.

We had an extended family vacation here with 11 of us. Three pools, one of them indoor. We mostly went to the pool by the beach because there was a bar/restaurant and a shuttle. The outdoor pool closer to the complex was bigger and nicer with a smaller tiki bar with limited hours. The staff were extremely friendly, there were golf cart shuttles that could cart you around to the pools or beaches. There are ping pong tables, shuffleboard, bocce ball, a gym, and a movie theater. Plenty of activities for kids and adults.

A larger Resort with superb facilities for familys with children. We like their 3BR units and great bar out by the beach.

I would strongly recommend against buying a vacation ownership here or with Marriott (Vacations Club). This is not the same company as Marriott. They were extremely dishonest during the sales of our ownership. We were outright misled and they severely misrepresented the ownership. Have seen a serious lack of integrity and ethics. We reported this to the company and nothing has been done and they will not reverse the purchase. Would strongly advise caution and that you read all the paperwork before signing no matter how much they pressure or try to rush you. They are not honest about these ownerships. You cannot book any time you want. You have to book over a year and a half in advance to get anything. Not a cost saver either. Ends up costing more than vacationing without it.

We have spent many family vacations at Surf Watch. We are already booked for next October. We always have a great timeThere.

Very nice resort, as you would expect from a Marriott property. The room was impeccable and everything was in working order. We enjoyed the planned events which were very generous, such as the free bratwurst night, smores night, etc. The pools are nice, although my daughter was disappointed there was no slide like the resort in Myrtle Beach. Id also point out that very few of the areas surrounding the pool had exposure to the sun, so it was quite cool and uncomfortable while laying out there, and this was during Spring Break so being chilly by the pool is not what I had hoped for. Perhaps take a view trees out?

We went during the off-season so we got a huge suite at a very low nightly rate. The rooms were great, but the staff was a little off-putting. Some folks I felt as if they didn’t want to be bothered. Also, I was surprised when check out was at 10 am. My room wasn’t even ready until almost 4 pm and when I asked for a late check-out, I was told they could only give me “one extra hour” until 11 am. Good thing I called because I just assumed check out was at noon! The outdoor pool was heated and they also have an indoor pool. The only problem is that to get to the outdoor pool you have to walk outside, which means if it’s cold outside you still have to dress warm to get to the indoor pool!

Lovely! A Marriott Vacation Club on Hilton Head Island, sign me up! If you are staying somewhere for a week, Marriotts signature beds and pillows are amazing! Always super comfy and clean! The units themselves are spacious, each providing a beautiful view of the resort pond, pool or ocean. The walk to the beach is through abeautiful South Carolina delicately and beautifully maintained wooded area and along a raised platformTo protect the dunes. Too much to carry to the beach? No problem, they have a Golf Cart escort service. Bikes can rented on site for a day or aWeek at a time. Dont miss the Thrive and Resort Activities, Elizabeths Morning Beach Yoga was a nice way tobegin the day, including a meditative walk through the sand and along the ocean. My daughter even had the chance to participate in a Junior Iron Chef contest! Raining? No worries,Patios are screened in and spacious for everyone or there is on sight actual cinema! Dont forget to take a nap in one of the many hammocks! Loved our stay there, well done Marriott Vacation Club!

Everytime we visit SurfWatch, it doesnt disappoint. Spacious rooms and beautiful views. Wonderful customer service, great food, and appreciate how they want to make each stay enjoyable- if theres anything we need, just ask and they do their best to accommodate. We have a daughter with special needs and the shuttle rides are such a valuable service. Well be back!

Wonderful place to stay. Very clean and with 3 heated pools you cant go wrong! We spent the most time in the saltwater pool located right next to the beach (no goggles required!)Room was clean and furniture comfortable. Plenty of dishes and silverware compared to some places and even had a blender!SO MANY ACTIVITIES! For adults and kids alike. If you are bored its your own fault!Only complaint would be that the pillows were some type of feather (my mom is allergic). Would recommend you bring your own pillow if you need specific support.

My grandparents have a time share here on hhi. We had an amazing week here. The beach isnt over crowded and just a short walk or rode depending on the building you stay in. There are scheduled activities everyday (some free others for a Low price) as well as pools by every building. The bar by the boardwalk to get to the ocean has live entertainment food and adult beverages. Theres so much to do here you really have to force yourself to find a reason to leave. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and kind, some even offered extra help like taking us back and forth on golf carts even though our building was only 20ft from the pier. The condo is comfortable and inviting and stocked with all the things travelers may have forgotten, thanks for that wine opener-your the real MVP. The beds are AMAZING. I have never slept so great. Im very impressed Marriott. Very impressed.

This resort is beautiful. The location on the island and 1 minute easy walk to the beautiful beach is ideal. The villas are amazing and offer all the conveniences of home. This is our 2nd time at the resort and we will definitely be back

Great place to go and relax, or play with the kids. Surf Watch has great beach access. A couple things you have to do while there!1. Wake up early and watch the sunrise from the beach!2. Go to events put on by Marriott (We got to hold baby alligators)3. Play at the beach. The waves are tallest right before and right after high tide. All other times, the waves are pretty small.Great place with an ideal location for anything you want to do. 45 minutes from historical Savanna Georgia and the Airport. 2 hours from Historical Charleston. Many fantastic restaurants within 10 - 15 minutes from the resort.We liked:Marleys Island GrilleSkull Creek BOATHOUSE (or Skull Creek Dockside, two different restaurants, both very good)Savanna Seafood Shack (Savannah Georgia, get the Seafood Boil)

We have been going to Surwatch for about 15 years. It’s always clean, freshly decorated, painted. We walk to the beach since our sons are now men we prefer to be away from the main pool (lots of activities). The one downfall is we have been asking for the bar at the beach to stay open later. Turn on the red lights so it doesn’t mess with the hatching turtles️. Love the fire pits, and games to play around the grounds. Staff is always excellent!!!

The entrance to the beach was a bit crowded, but once we were on the beach it was very open and social distancing was very easy. Also the beach was absolutely amazing!

Weve been coming to the Marriott Surfwatch on Hilton Head Island for years. Its a home away from home for us, our family and friends. Well maintained, open year round SW provides us a base camp for HHI activities including golf, biking, salt water fishing, shopping and dining. Great staff, great facility. My sister and her family have a timeshare at SurfWatch and I have been joining them for over fifteen years (ever since it opened). Property is carefully maintained and the staff is awesome. Cannot say enough good things. Never a bad experience and staff is super responsive to every need. Love the morning aquatics, pool party, and all the family activities. Always leave SW feeling recharged ... and looking forward to next year.

Highly recommended. A really beautiful place, well cared for, clean, environmentally conscious. The pools are awesome, direct beach access. Children are well behaved and their parents keep a good eye on them. We own a timeshare here and continue to be very happy with our investment. The facilities are top notch, the condos are beautiful, well stocked, tastefully decorated. The furniture is comfortable, nice large balconies. We own a 3 bedroom so our unit is larger than the others. Were pleased so far with the Marriott Vacation Club program. Weve visited many of the facilities across the U.S. and they are all lovely, highly quality facilities in desirable, beautiful places. My biggest complaint is the high maintenance fees. Honestly though, you cant go wrong with a Marriott timeshare.

We come here for an annual trip every year and always have a great time! They have several pools and a great beach spot. Poolside bar is ok, a little pricey and the drinks are average—lots of fruity beach type drinks. They have activities pretty much every night (some are free) that cater to all ages. We always love coming here!

The accommodations are well appointed and spacious. Activities to do all day and a great view of the ocean from our suite! Great shopping and restaurants nearby. Amazing!

This is a wonderful resort. The ocean is just a few blocks away, the rooms are large and the shower s always have hot water. There is a lot of cool wildlife here, which some people might not like, but the animals always stay outside. There are all manner of frogs, lizards, spiders, crabs, birds and bugs. There are bikes you can rent, and youll need to, as there is no breakfast bar. This fact made me sad, but this resort is so great that I barely noticed. The exercise roomIs large enough for many people to be working out at the same time. This resort is very big very beautiful, and I am happy I came.

Another amazing Marriott! The gold standard setting the example for the rest of the hospitality industry! My favorite part is the 5 shower heads in the master bath!!

The resort itself is on the smaller side and because of its long layout, most of the units are a good distance from the beach and have little to no ocean view. That makes the resort feel kind of disconnected if youre in the only ocean front building. It is also awkwardly split up by a brick road.On the plus side, the Oceanside pool and cabanas are great, and the beach is quiet as most of the surrounding area is a park and vacation home rentals, not large resorts.The rooms are typical Marriott resort fare, with some nice additions. The two bedroom units include a tub shower - good for little ones - and the master includes a giant walk-in shower in lieu of the Jacuzzi tub. The balconies are feature ceiling fans, which is a nice touch. They are clean, well kept, and new.The pools are salt water, which is also a nice change. Theres nothing particularly noteworthy about the features of the pool. You wont find standpoint pool amenities like you would at Barony or Grande Ocean.

This place is a great resort for familys. When your not getting a tan on the Beach or swimming at the pool you can dive into many other activities such as mini golf, billiards, ping pong, shuffle board, horse shoses and many other great activitys and I must say the room was very clean and spacious.

Theres so much to do you wont be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The room was great, we got to see dolphins in the morning while watching the sunrise, and it was so quiet since it was off season.

Very easy check-in. Needed a handicap suite and it was perfectFriendly employees. A very nice place. Would love to trade into here again.

Awesome vacation spot. Very serene, calm beach vacation. Rooms are really good, service is excellent. Can get golf cart ride to and from the beach any time you call. Its only a 10 minute walk to the beach from the resort. Family friendly and kids friendly resort.

The livability if the space, Robin at the front gate and housekeeping for our floor were hospitable.

I usually dont give 5 stars out but this place was exceptional they had everything I was looking for, the rooms were nice the people at the desk were nice. They had indoor pool and two main outdoor pools one was beachfront and there was a restaurant they had on the beach it was so convenient. Then there were activities all around they had horse shoes ping pong volleyball shuffleboard bocce and across the street there was a nice park with beautiful scenery to walk on paths and tennis courts and soccer! Im telling you guys this place had it all I am satisfied and will definitely be coming back to visit!

We had nice vacation here but its definitely not my first choice, but growing up on the East coast may make me use to the regular beach. Rooms were mostly clean, I did find a pack and play and bottle of Coke full of cigarette butts in guest room closet. Walking to the beach isnt bad if you arent dragging chairs and umbrellas and coolers. You can always get a quick ride from staff. I thought because it was a beach property that the resort would have chairs and umbrellas set up but you have to pay to rent if you didnt fit yours in suit case.The activities they are offered were the best part, staff is friendly and engaging. Wish there was a bigger restaurant on property but the Sea Salts is very good but hours are short.

If u love Hilton Head like we do, the Marriott Vacation Club property here is tops!! Of the three beachfront MVC properties, this one is the newest and has been renovated recently. They got rid of the big tubs in the master bathroom!!! Yeah!!
