Tennis center was great. Went with my tennis team. Great instructors and def took our competitive side up a notch. Bikes were great to get around and loved the beach. Never really left the resort except for the grocery store. It was beautiful and great.
Family vacation for 5 nights in August. Stayed in a condo in Captains Walk development, right on the beach. Condo was as advertised. Easy beach access, great location on the island. Would definitely stay again.
The resort is well kept and clean. It is relatively close to everything so that’s very convenient. The inside of the St. Andrews commons condos are older and just ok. The bed was awful and the air conditioner didn’t work great.
This was the best place to have a get away long weekend! We had everything we needed, resort, while busy, was peaceful, our condo was perfect, and the beaches are incredible!
Our Villa was great and our 2nd time in it. You can see that spotting of the carpets isn’t keeping up and some of the placemats should be tossed out. Only 2 slots in the toaster worked, but minor.Other small issues were handled quickly and appreciated.A major problem was the ‘’trash’ overflow in the garage which caused an offensive odor all week. At times, I could smell it in our unit. Actually, the garage needs to be cleaned. more often especially in the trash area.
Villa and amenities were excellent. Great time of year to visit!
Palmetto Dunes was wonderful and so family friendly! Because of Covid, some things were restricted and there were no chairs available at the pool, but despite all the restrictions, it was a great place to stay and SO beautiful!
Convenience, luxury and great Ocean views. Beautiful and safe resort community.
Great place to say at to social distance with plenty to do!
Hard to rate the whole resort. Condo we rented was pretty good. Love two of the golf courses on the reaort (Jones and Fazio). Close to groceries at Kroger and a decent restaurant (Alexanders) on the property.Your experience may vary widely depending where you are staying and what you are planning for activities.Pickle ball is hugely popular there.Beach is nice.Have fun!
Ryan and Susan were fantastic! Had an absolutely awesome time playing the Robert Trent course — planning on coming back soon.
Great place. Sun at the beach, kayak the 12 mile lagoon. Play a round of golf or bike the resort. Dine at the Dunes house for a beachy vibe.
Michael and Neil are awesome!! I wish they were there every day!! Great bartenders!!
Awesome place to stay on HHI. Well laid out, relaxing paths to ride/run/walk. Excellent security measures both seen and unseen. Easy hop onto the beach, free shuttle service, general store, restaurant, bike rental....etc. Something for everyone! Lacked one star due to the dated and not so clean condition of our rental townhouse. Loved our vacation!
My family and I have stayed here for several years now and we can’t seem to try anywhere else because this resort is just perfect! Easy beach access, different activities and restaurants to try and the dunes buggy is so convenient! Great for all ages. We love it and look forward to going back soon!
Beautiful resort and peaceful. Walking distance to the beach. Felt a tinge of an isssue from an employee in the tennis center (acted as if we didnt belong there); however, we didnt let that stop us from enjoying our free court time. Definitely recommend!
Always love this place.
We have stayed here seven times in the past 5 years, both in a 4-bedroom home and in a 1-bedroom villa. The accommodations are excellent. The resort is beautiful. The amenities are plentiful. You can spend an entire week in Palmetto Dunes without ever leaving the property and enjoy yourself immensely on Hilton Head Island. The General Store is very convenient there are good restaurants on the property, there are three excellent golf courses, and there are excellent tennis facilities. Our villa in Barrington Park this year is only a few steps from the beach. We have found everything about Palmetto Dunes to our liking.
Rented a house here for spring break and was very impressed. Clean, quiet, well kept with lots of amenities and conveniences all inside the resort. We plan on coming back!
Gym really needs updating and indoor pool and hot tub are ridiculously over chlorinated but overall it is a really nice place to vacation
Love it, we come here almost every year. Enjoy it every time.
My family and I have visited Palmetto Dunes several times over the years and this is the best vacation spot to date! The island and culture is gorgeous! There is so much to do, and the food is amazing. The weather is always stunning - we have predominately traveled in Sept/May, but recently went in January and although cool was just as nice to walk on the beach, barefoot! Love the villas and the views and walking distance to the beach! We will be coming here for years to come!
Dom Hausher & staff are great !
Great beach, bike paths, and Dunes house great for ocean front lunch
Great location with plenty of space!!!
The best resort on Hilton Head. There are many amenities and the golf is incredible at the resort. If tennis is your thing there are 23 clay courts and 8 pickle ball courts. Outriggers rents bikes and kayaks for a more leisurely tour of the island.
Great place. Lots to do and see. Easy beach access. The driver service makes things very easy.
A very family friend atmosphere. Lots of great restaurants. Weve enjoyed getting a chance ride bikes everywhere.
Absolute best accommodations on the the island bar none!Charter fishing inside of the resort on the 11 mile lagoon with Palmetto Lagoon Charters is absolutely off the hook best time ever! As well as out of Shelter Cove Harbour with the highly recommended Captain Trent Malphrus or any of the amazing captains at Shelter Cove Harbour.Love love love this place.best location period for a vacation ever.
We are renting a condo in the Villamare section and it is gorgeous! Fully stocked and feels like home. The resort grounds are immaculate and feel so lush and tropical. Easy access to the beach, great pool area, lots of bike trails with onsite rentals. Highly recommend a stay at Palmetto Dunes.
The stay here was great! An easy checkin process and clean room greeted us upon arrival. Our specific unit was well stocked with kitchen supplies and linens. We were steps away from the beach and enjoyed a delicious meal at the beach side restaurant. There were plenty of amenities that you could purchase, such as kayaks, bikes, and tennis equipment.
Great place, one of the 2 I wouldnt mind living at.
We booked our reservation at Palmetto Dunes several months ago. Unfortunately the week we reserved was the week when Hurricane Matthew was expected to hit the United States. We had to proceed with our plans. Two days into our stay we got the call that we had to evacuate and that we would receive a refund. The amount was not mentioned. We determined when we should leave, we did what the office asked us to do about the patio furniture and left a note stating the day we left and time. I figured out what I thought might be our refund based on a daily rate. I was extremely surprised when I checked my credit card to find that our refund was more than half of the weekly rate. Based on that, I would recommend this resort; mother nature interfered with our vacation but Palmetto Dunes more than rectified that inconvenience. Thank you Palmetto Dunes.
I was only a vendor... I clicked other.... I did not stay. I have stayed before & the location is wonderful. Everything is contained within the plantation, so everything is a bike ride away. Wonderful place.
Played golf there and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was helpful and friendly. The course was beautiful. And, we didnt get eaten by the alligators that were all over those water hazards. Definitely a big win.
We used an Airbnb about 200 ft from the beach and it was quite wonderful! The beach was beautiful and not loaded with people. This was the second year we stayed there and would seriously consider a 3rd.
I stayed in the Water Oak Villas the weekend before 4th of July. The villas here have a nice homey feel to them and come with kitchen supplies, utensils, cookware, and hotel style toiletries. Its right next to the golf course, which is great for evening walks. Its also a ten minute walk to the beach and a short drive from a bunch of restaurants and stores. Remember to bring bug spray, because the mosquitoes are everywhere.
Very friendly staff, a good homely feel! We booked a condo through Island Getaway who was also very helpful. A very enjoyable neighborhood and place to stay!
Best each spot in America. HHI.
The resort was beautiful, clean and had plenty of actities for the whole family. The golf is world class and the staff is very hospitable.
Well, I am a service provider for them but employees are great! You can tell a lot about a business by how well they treat their employees. Happy employees equals happy guests!
Absolutely best place to buy or rent on Hilton Head Island. 3 miles of pristine Beach behind the gates. Plus 11 mile lagoon and 54 holes of the best maintained golf on the Island.
LOVE this place! Its casual (its the beach after all), so you dont have to get dressed up, but you definitely can if you want to. Were enjoying a nice little winter respite here in one of the villas. Had great fish tacos at The Dunes House yesterday, and I tried the gouda burger at Big Jims restaurant last night - WOW!Now all I have to do is go for a run on the beach to burn off some of the calories! But thats not so bad - its the beach after all).
Nice beach. Great place to ride bikes. Really also the epitome of class & race privilege.
Palmetto Dunes is my favorite place on Hilton Head Island. The resort is beautiful and I enjoy playing golf here several times a month. The courses really are top notch for an area that has so many to choose from. With 3 unique layouts, we dont need to go anywhere else and the staff treats us like family. Ive used head pro Doug Weaver for years to work on my game as well. The restaurants are fantastic (dont miss Big Jims). For families vacationing, Palmetto Dunes has endless activities! And HarbourFest in the summer is a huge deal...free fireworks...cant get much better! Love it!!!!!
Nice location with lots to do.
Great selection of breakfast, good service, smiling people ️
My wife works with Instacart. She went to deliver groceries to a guest at a vacation home and was told shed have to pay if she came on property so she called the customer and they met her outside the gate at the tennis courts. She got another order for another guest went to do the same thing and the security guard threatened to have her arrested. This place is horrible....
Lovely location to work. Amazing place to live!
Talk about No Service the Staff at Palmetto Dunes wins the award. Not only unfriendly but extremely non helpful. We would lost a whole day of going to the beach if we didnt know our way around. This staff including the Manager needs serious re-training.
Beautiful area and well maintained.
Great golf course. The greens are in great shape. Well worth the bucks. Without hesitation we make this a regular stop every year.
Palmetto Dunes is a very nice resort. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service is also fantastic. If I had to stay in Hilton Head I would stay here again.
We LOVED our family stay at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort. It was so beautiful, and the beachfront is incredible. Our stay was lovely. Our condo was clean, neat and the decor was so fun and nautical. We loved biking on the beach. Fishing in the Ocean and so much more. We enjoyed Big Jims on the Trent Jones Golf Course for a great lunch out as a family. And Hilton Head Outfitters set us up with family bicycles and kayaks. So great! Check it out for a 5 star family vacation! Thank you Palmetto Dunes!
Close to the beach and other stores and food places, pool was nice, room was nice. Area had lots of nice trees.
The Resort is absolutely gorgeous. The condo we stay at is up-scale and was prepared on time. The views, the beach, the lagoon, the pools - all wonderful. Its a top notch Resort that we continue to visit annually.
Beautiful place and scenery. Bathroom had paint chipped from wall and ceiling. Suprising for what you spend to go there.
Hai Id g Jk us r if ft r over grit to Indiana drive and you can with the new Yup Yea I know I dont think shes driving Some time with the new Yup Yea I know I messing with you Your good Pretty sure that you are the best players matter how much I love you too show up in the morning I
Great place to stay!!
Very nice people working here but do not trust the on line pictures of homes...We select a terrible week rental that had electrical hazards, smelly carpet and in door pool that was horrible. The clorine smell made our eyes water. They allowed us to move into a different weekly rental unit...We looked at those first. Arrive early enough to change units if need be.
Too upscale and ritzy for my taste. Security is very tight.
I stayed in Queens Grant section. While there, the landscaping crew arrived and erected their cherry picker over the parking lot where my car was and started cutting limbs and grinding the up less then 12 inches from my car covering it with wood chips and scratching it. (I am not exaggerating.) I contracted security who told me to contact the head of security who told me to contact the property management company. I had to leave a message and no one ever bothered to call me back. I contacted upper management for the resort to told me that each section was managed by a different entity and there was nothing they could do about it. I would save your money and check into a reputable hotel who will have some basic understanding of customer service. These people did not. Not only is the property severely dated, but their management practices are as well.
The most diversifIed resort on Hilton head, 5 star accommodation beautiful beach just a short walk away. Miles of lagoons to pattle boat, the best way to connect with nature
Some of the nicest units on the island on THE nicest, biggest beach I know.
Love me some Hilton head
Big place with easy access to other activities
Great location. We stayed on the shelter cove side. Great restaurants, shopping, boat tours, other water adventures, and grocery stores within walking distance.
Used VRBO to find a great rental for the week in Shelter Cove. Lots of great live music, restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. The Robert Trent Jones Ocean Course is well worth playing.
I thought Palmetto Dunes had a great beach, I did not stay at the resort, but I did visit the beach.
Wonderful place. I recommend it to everyone!
Beautiful place. Hope to stay there next year.
Excellent bicycle ride and a must see!
Palmetto Dunes is an oceanfront resort located in Hilton Head. It sits on three miles of beach, and includes such amenities as a full-service marina, a tennis center, and an 11-mile lagoon. There are no stuffy hotel rooms here, though; enjoy a vacation home or villa rental. If (when!) we return to Hilton Head Island, we will stay again at Palmetto Dunes. I’ve already recommended it to several close friends. The villas a spacious, clean, and perfect for families. They come well equipped with everything you need for a short stay or an extended vacation. The myriad activities available at the resort will keep you busy for days! I highly recommend staying here. Just a note….booking your villa directly through Palmetto Dunes will provide you with additional amenities that other booking facilities cannot provide.Hilton Head Outfitters was great to us. Bike riding was a big highlight of our trip, and I recommend it highly. If you are staying at Palmetto Dunes, using HH Outfitters is the easiest solution. They also offer canoe and kayak rentals, fishing trips, and surf lessons (for adults and kids!)Big Jim’s was great food in large servings. It was casual and comfortable with the whole family. The kids were occupied, and they loved the food. And, it was perfectly convenient in the resort, near the tennis courts, golf course, and on the bike path. We are huge fans, and would recommend this to anyone!Disclosure: Thank you to Palmetto Dunes for hosting my family and me. We sincerely appreciate the complimentary stay in our villa, but it in no way swayed our opinion.
Beautiful resort with easy access to the beach. Very handicapped friendly. Lots of outdoor activities available with equipment rentals on site. Gorgeous golf course and large tennis center.
Great beaches, fantastic tennis center, lots of exciting dining & shopping choices nearby. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everyone enjoys their stay.
Great place to vacation. It has everything within walking or riding distance.
Beautiful beachfront properties.
St Andrews Common is the best!
Super clean. Very comfortable. The rooms are huge and well furnished. The beach is not crowded at all and very clean.
The Dunes House is amazing. Right on the beach and the staff is awesome. Good food and great atmosphere.
Have stayed here three years. love being right on the beach and pool right down stairs. great for family with kids. lots to do in the area
If your looking to get married Lou Anne Takach can take care of you at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, she is amazing kind, always happy, organized and willing to help. Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, Dunes House is one of the best places to get married on the beach in Hilton Head Island. Thank you Lou Anne for being so Awesome!
So much to do, beautiful resort
Had a house here for many years. I loved visiting here and the beach. The tennis is too pricey though.
The best kept secret in the world
Staff was responsive and made sure we were able to access our room despite a late check in. I would recommend the stay to anyone.
Great place to buy a house or condo!
Beautiful
Despite the off issue, this place has been a lot of fun so far. :) Looking forward to the rest of the week. :)
Demetria Thomas is super professional and a true pleasure to encounter. Check in is very personal and fun. Get the map and the restaurant books in the lobby please. The general store has all your needs and breakfast to die for. Fazio sandwich shop is absolutely amazing and Tim is great in the golf shop there as well. I love this little piece of heaven. Stay 3 days or more to get the full experience. Ocean lfronts are nice but during the summer very large palmetto bugs can be spotted inside the unit... I can do without the ocean view. Also saltwater can take a toll on a home so keep an open mind when you want to be on the water. I prefer to be near the entrance area myself. Also they have great bikes and its a great idea to add bikes and kyaks to your festivities. Enjoy. Oh the security pass office drive through is a bit tricky so when you drive in make the first right, drive down just a bit and the building to your left has a drive through. Pay attention casue the first left is parking lit the second left is drive through. If your a late arrival please call them as soon as you know. The check in office is NOT 24 HOURS. Hope this was helpful. Oh one more thing they have shuttle services that run at times.
The house we rented was huge and great for big families to spend time together. Only complaint I had was all the rental homes near Cartgate were cookie cutter from the back which means all the pools are backed up to each other with NO privacy and its wooded so bugs we bad.
Best family spot in HHI
Beautiful area. Fantastic beaches. Outstanding weather.
Stayed at one of the guest houses on a lagoon, the rooms and pool were great!
Really nice but not quite up to the Hilton / Marriott standards
