Wonderful place to stay very nice. Family really enjoyed the stay they asked could we live here .I would recommend this place the place was clean and had several amenities that we used while there. The pool was nice location was ok would have been better if we had a ocean view but everything else was great. We will be back again.
We spent a week at Royal Dunes on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The staff was friendly and the resort was spectacular. Islanders beach is across the street. It was an excellent place to stay and I hope to stay here for years to come. The parking garage is short. I have Buick SUV and it was hard to fit in the spots. The maintenance/caretakers were always friendly and helpful. Other guests were quite snotty in common areas, but as we are used to people hating NYers we obviously will not hold this against the Royal Dunes resort. Highly recommend these condos!
We absolutely love staying at this resort. My family has made the trip to Hilton Head every summer and stayed at the Royal Dunes Resort. The rooms are nicely sized for my family. My wife and I enjoy one master suite, my son and his girlfriend enjoy another master suite and my teenage daughter can enjoy bedroom number three with a guest to share the room with separate beds to sleep in and its own bath across the hall. The kitchen has plenty of space to store a weeks worth of groceries, and all of the amenities needed to cook every meal...plus some fantastically landscaped and shaded grilling stations. The resort has two beautifully secluded pool areas, one with a clubhouse that includes a gym, sauna, spa and commercial ice maker to fill your coolers before taking a short walk to access the beach! The Royal Dunes staff has mostly been retained for the 17 years weve stayed here, and they are amazing! They know the island super well, to include restaurant recommendations, activity information and most importantly property management to keep the resort looking and operating at a high level to keep our values well worth the cost to stay. One of the most reasonable fees related to maintenance costs at less than $1k for a week long stay!! To summarize, we love and highly recommend the Royal Dunes Resort...after years of great stays and memories with our growing family!!!!
The rooms were nice and clean. Reasonably priced and a short distance from the beach. Most of the staff was nice and polite. The only source of discomfort was an older lady at the front desk, that wasnt pleasant to my kind.
Quiet, near beach.housekeeping good.Dont like parents who dont put swimming diapers on toddlers, babies. Or take them in hot tub.
My only dislike was the small parking spaces under building 4. Was difficult to park our van.
Our stay was great. The resort has a elevator on each floor, should have one for both sides. The property is close to the beach. I would come back.
Stayed here for a week with the intention of working part time. They do have wifi but it disconnects every 2 minutes and makes working near impossible. The room is nice, the pool is small, the walk to the beach is short.Bottom line do not plan on streaming Netflix or working while here.
Huge three bedrooms plus pull out in living room. Nice view of court yard.
A perfect place for an off season family get together.
Clean and safe environment.Short walk to the beach...pool area is nice.......great place to visit
Our family of 5 (two 6 year olds and a 3 year old) had a wonderful time at Royal Dunes. The units are large and had everything we needed to cook in the unit. The units are not on the beach, but the beach accessible by the complimentary shuttle was beautiful. The pool and hot tub are nice. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable!
The building were very old,the stairs are all rusted. The amenities are nice.
Clean condo, good amenities, staff less than helpful... seemed more concern about covid 19 than providing service
Time worn, minimally maintained. Welcome center usually locked.
A small Resort, the pools were okay but you could hear the people in the radios which were much too loud at the pools in most of the unit. Units were three bedroom which is nice but outdated furniture I dont think we would go there again.
Staying in a 3 bedroom condo overlooking the pool. Folks that work here are super nice. Just a 1/4 mile walk to the beach.....a little to chilly for me to go in pool, but folks were swimming yesterday. Rooms show wear and tear...but they are clean. Great location on the island close to everything.
Quiet area, easily accessible to all areas of island by car. Can bike to the beach.
Very nice location easy walk to the beach. Everything was available for our needs. Next time we will bring the family.
Royal Dunes is a wonderful resort, especially for families. We were very impressed and enjoyed our 5 night stay. The property is very well maintained and our unit was very clean and had everything we needed. I cant say enough about the front desk staff and the manager, Shelly Beeson. I booked this reservation through Expedia and paid for the unit at the time of booking. At check-in, they had no record of my reservation. The problem was with Expedia and no fault of Royal Dunes. With the help of Shelly, she was able to find us a unit and we were able to check-in and enjoy our 5 night stay. I cant thank Royal Dunes staff enough for all their help.
Property was so spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, at not fault to Royal Dunes, we had to vacate after one day due to Hurricane Dorian. We were able to get to the beach the one evening, as the walk is just 5 minutes from the room!
3BR and 3 full baths. More room than we expected. Even fold out couch was pretty comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen. Pools were nice, but crowded... but this was prime vacay week.
Sheelly Beeson & Staff are Top Notch, among the best courteous and service oriented people on the island. Highly recommended.
The staff is wonderful and very polite. Thank you Shelly for all that you do. We look forward with working with you another year.
The resort was nice, clean, and having our own kitchen, washer and dryer were a plus! There were 2 pools, kinda small but we still had a fun time. Beach is much further than a 5 minute walk, more like 15! Also I give the beach 5 stars ! Best beach Ive been to!
The rooms are very clean and spacious with balcony. The beach is a short walk across the street. Very nice pool, hot tub and workout area.
Nice for a rental. A good place to bring your family. Within walking distance of the beach. Shaded and pretty.
This place was great, wished we could have stayed longer!! Royal Dunes is in a golf community, which I dont personally do, but being a short walk to the beach was awesome. The condo was perfectly stocked and very clean. Would go back for a relaxing stay again!
Very close to the beach, it has two pools & the floor plan is nice. Two king beds, two twin beds and a pull out sofa. A small washer and dryer in each room, each building has an elevator. The views are not great but you will be visiting the beach, the pools, or the sights of Hilton Head Island.
Our favorite hideaway on Hilton Head Island. 3 bedroom condos. Lots of amenities. Short stroll to the beach. Fun activities all week long.
Good location and pricing. God that that had activities for the kids. Would definitely stay again when back in area.
Nice property. Elevator didn’t work the whole trip. A little further than expected from the beach which made it more difficult for my grandmother. Overall a nice place.
Wonderful condo. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Very well maintained, enjoyed my time there.
Rudest staff I’ve come across in a very long time.
Best Vets and staff! Saved my sisters dogs life on vacation after 3 dogs attacked her and her dog at the beach.
Off the beaten path but only a five min walk to the beach
Great property! We will stay here again . Wonderful for families.
Our room was really nice and clean. Beds were on the firm side. Customer service was excellent. The resort was within walking distance of nice beach parks. I knocked off a star because it was slightly confusing getting in and out of the place because it was located so close to other resorts and residential neighborhoods. If you missed a turn one way or the other youd end up at a guard shack or gate to another resort.
It is beautiful with breathtaking views. Nice accomadations.
Love this place, there was construction bc of storms but not their fault! 3 bedroom spacious place, walk to beach.
I have a time share here I love it so much. Just 10 min walk from beach. Clean spacious apartment. Lovely location
Property was close to the beach, well kept, and had a pool. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful.
A nice, quiet resort, short walk to beach ... our home away from home in Hilton Head SC since the 90s
Nice condo, well appointed rooms. Hot elevator. Two small crowded pools.Had issue with quality of the cooking pans. I had to take the pan to front desk to exchange, then was late the next day I had to remind them I needed a replacement.I also went to desk to get info about fishing boats in the area and ladys at the lobby were not very helpful.A short walk to the public access to the beach. There is a public paid parking lot there that you dont the to pay if you have handicapped parking tags/placards.
Great visit and experience!!
Rooms were quiet and the bed was comfortable. Pools are super crowded/small. Had a issue with a bathroom sink clogging and leaving black crud in it, we called the desk and they promptly sent maintenance out, good job on that! They had a free cookout, didnt expect that and we enjoyed the burger and dogs. Overall, its a pretty nice place, not 4 or 5 star, but a good clean family place in my opinion.
We are time share owners
Alex, our golf cart shuttle driver, was awesome. Nice accommodations plus close to everything. Really liked all the kid friendly activities that were available. Family will definitely go back.
Very quaint and relaxing. Convenient to all the activities on the island or just off the island. The people that work there are nice. One of the maintenance workers named Michael was awesome. Had a small problem that he fixed within minutes and was very knowledgeable about his job and things to do on the island. Not sure if hes the head of that department but he should be. If youre wanting a superb vacation week I highly recommend giving them a call.
Room was great. Perfect for our family. Close walk to the beach.
We have been owners here for over a decade. We look forward to our week each year. The three bed and three bath units are ideal for families. The pools are nice and it is an easy walk to the beach. Our maintenance fees are well spent on frequent renovations. Beautiful place!
Wish I could give more than this but ONLY ONE of the 4 grills worked when we tried to grill one. Were told they were out of propane. Plus the water pressure in the stand alone building stinks. Our dryer squeaked so bad we had to start it before we left for awhile - we were told it probably needed a belt and they were out of those and wouldnt get one in until we left. We called on it our second day. Truly expected more but that is because we are Diamond Resort owners and their properties seem to be held at a higher standard then the affiliates.
Quite, peaceful resort. Our 3 bedroom unit was clean, quite and very comfortable. Short walk to the beach. A little far from the action which was fine for us. Parking is very limited.
The Royal Dunes Resort sits about a 5 minute walk from the beach. There are two pools, one of which is almost always extremely quiet. The rooms are very nice, comfortable housing 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms, two of which are master style bedrooms. There is another bedrooms with two twin beds and a bathroom across the hall. There is a full kitchen, and at least the room we stayed in appeared to be recently renovated. The service for the most part has been good. However there was a very grumpy man who was very upset when we had to request some basics that were not provided for us. The check in service also appeared to have left our toilet paper, shampoo, etc in a trash bag outside the door when we arrived rather than bringing it into the room. They also had left all the lights and fans on in the rooms. Overall, it has been a positive experience.
I just spent a week here with my family and i have nothing but good things to say. perfect location, very close to the beach. the two pools, kiddie pool, and hot tub were very nice. i love that there were activities planned for the kids. cookout was nice. condos were beautiful and just the right size. i hope to return one day.
Nice place to spread out.
Lovely resort!
Really comfortable accommodations. Close to the beach and great local restaurants.
Decent units within a 10 minute walk to a beach.
Beautiful place! Spacious, clean and very close to the beach.
Outstanding!
Easy access to the beach, lovely grounds, and beautiful setting.
Very quiet here in February. Renovations to clubhouse & spa going on. Older resort, but nice & peaceful.
Great place for family fun. Good access to beach.
Very laid back experience, cant wait to come again !
Played the Barony course. My wife couldnt play and did a ride along. They said she could ride for free. Great golf course. Great staff.
3 bedrooms and bathrooms near the ocean and unlimited golf!
This is the only way to go. Super close to the beach..we love that we can make our own meals here. Very quiet and relaxing
Clean and well kept. Large unit. 3 bedrooms 3 baths. Friendly staff.. Loved Royal Dunes.Walking distance to beach.
A week at Hilton Head Island! The staff at the Royal Dunes Resort were very helpful in making the week a great deal of fun!
Currently staying at the Royal Dunes. Room is nice and comfortable. Not a lot of cooking supplies. The one big knife that we had in the kitchen broke when we tried to cut a watermelon. Apparently they only supply one roll of paper towels as we were never able to get another roll and finally the day before we left we were told, by the very unhelpful and rude front desk person, we would have to get our own. Information that would have been helpful information the many times we were out and about. The hours of the front desk are limited to a regular work day and I never saw any house keeping on site. As a Diamond Resort timeshare owner, I expect better service.
The property is a bit dated. Its pretty much looks like it was in its prime 20 years ago, however it was affordable and clean. I wish that the in condo supplies were in better condition, (i.e. pots and pans, sharp knives (the edge was literally rounded and every steak knife was bent), washer stunk to high heaven and had mold on the inside) The beds were a bit saggy in the middle, but not too too bad. The pool was heated and very nice, the sauna was good also.
Been coming here for 10 years. Nice, but showing signs of age.
The resort rooms are excellent. They are in excellent condition. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a nice living area and kitchen. Covered parking and nice pool. Very close to the beach (about 3 blocks).
Will be back.
Great resort with updated 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. 2 MBR. Loved being back on the island. Felt like I was coming home. Excellent food at the club house. Nice golf courses.
5 star resort with very relaxing atmosphere. The location is perfect for day trips. 45 minutes to Savannah, close to two hours to Charlestown, wine tastings, beach, etc. There is plenty to do and good restaurants for all price ranges.
Close to beach, nice condo.
Our washer never worked and I had to keep following up with the office about it. It was kinda inconvenient as we had to use the machines in another building since maintenance broke the dryer trying to fix the washer.
Excellent location a comfortable walk (less than five minutes) to Islanders Beach, which weve always found to be clean and quiet (at least in May when we come). The units are spacious and clean, perfect for a family vacation home base. There are fancier places on this island, but Royal Dunes is where well come every time.
We own 2 time shares, we love it so much here. 500 yards to the beach, great security, beautiful 3 bedroom accommodations.
Getting run down. Weve been owners here for about 15 years. Each year it gets a little worse. Mostly deferred maintenance to to common areas and outside of the structures. The units are nice, but once you step outside...not so much. The staff are pretty much indifferent which doesnt help.
Relaxing 2 pools, near ocean beach, quiet, great monday social, great tuesday cook out. Huge 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and balcony,,, kitchen and laundry. Under building shaded parking. Out door grills.
Great vacation spot. Close to beach and pools are right outside the buildings.
Great rooms and amenities. We had one maintenance issue during our stay, but it was worked out fast and everything in the end was enjoyable.
Excellent
Club house was under construction. But descent location and the accommodations were nice.
This resort is great! We had a three bedroom condo with full immenitied...very roomy and up to date. It had plenty of activities and quick walk to the beach.
Nice facilities. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere close to island attractions.
Very comfortable and convenient to everything. Neat and clean. Would recommend
The hotel is a timeshare so they do not provide daily cleaning something that was not communicated to us. The first night in our unit the air conditioning didn’t work and it was rather uncomfortable to sleep. We also had water leaking from either the air conditioner or the washing machine. The summary of th resort says there is an exercise room but the facility doesn’t have one.Parking is an issue especially if you have a large SUV with a roof top carrier.
Beautiful place. The rooms are very well decorated and big. The staff is very friendly as well. Over all a great place.
Great view and patio. Good food and service!
Beautiful updated units with two separate master bedrooms and one with two twins. Loved the Cornhole games with covers all set up to play. Great staff available for any questions. Would love to stay here again.
