Love this cinemas atmosphere. It has a 50s vibe to it which is really refreshing. The seats and screens/projectors are ok but could use an upgrade though. If youre ever in the area this is a must try. (At least once anyways.) Ill definitely be returning just for the Sinatra music.FIN

I’m a huge huge huge movie lover, enjoying at least 3 a week. When I need my independent movie or film festival desires satisfied; the Angelika is my theatre. It’s nice that they have a super comfortable lounge area where you can meet some really cool people before and after your movie. I Couldn’t give 5 stars, because the actual theaters could use some love, but I still highly recommend the Angelika.Returned for another fabulous event with the USA film festival and it was Fabulous! the reception was amazing and movie #Peanut Butter Falcon, wow what a wonderful film. The Q and A was one of the best I’ve attended because the film makers were so engaging.

So happy that the USA Film Festival holds most of their events at this well run theater. Always a friendly, courteous staff and shows movies that you wont see anywhere else. Lots of free parking and the concessions are exceptional - they even have a decent wine list! If you want a personal experience where you can feel appreciated, this is the place for you.

For a restaurant in a swanky area, youd think theyd lean into that a little more. Limited food options meant I had a pre-packaged club sandwich from their café, along with a $4 bottle of water. The small, old school theatre we were in was fine... except for the fact that sound and music from elsewhere kept drifting in, so there I am watching a dramatic, quiet foreign language film and hearing music trumpeting in from the doorway. I was disappointed by this - avoiding sound pollution seems pretty important in a theatre? - but have no complaints about the actual sound quality of the movie I was watching.Basically, its an okay place to see a movie. Glad to have so many options in Dallas.

The Angelika Film Center is one of the best movie theater experiences Ive had in a long time. Its kept clean, the staff is great and the sound volume is perfect. Ive been coming to this movie theater since it opened. The screens are great. Sound systems are superb. They keep the theaters not too cold not too hot. Easy to get in and out of with parking. not that I usually indulge in a lot of cinema food but it did seem that their menu has decreased significantly. They still have the best popcorn of any theater in Texas. I think they need to seriously look into updating the chairs. Theyre becoming a little worn. Compared to other newer theaters theyre just not as comfortable. I love the Angelika because they show new documentaries, art and indie films. Still my favorite neighborhood movie theater.

Angelika Film Center is many steps ahead of most, for sure! Our tickets were bought online without any additional fees. Doing so took any & all anxiety from wondering if seats were available. We watched Downton Abbey and loved every bit of such. Beer and wine is available for purchase. This is one fact we wouldve loved knowing before the movie began rather than afterwards. The restrooms are clean as well as large enough to accommodate a large number of visitors. Returning visits to this theatre is a full-on yes!

I expected a lot more from this theatre. I was disappointed. I always saw this as a fancy theater... I watched Lu Over The Wall. It was $12, which is fine. The seats were small & stiff. My poor thighs suffered throughout the movie. There wasnt many others in the theatre with us, so I cant give yall a feel for the people. The few that were there were quiet. Ill probably never go back because A) I dont live in Dallas & B) it wasnt really worth it for me. They do have events like the Studio Ghibli festival, & their own things. Ill probably go here for something like that.

Enjoyed a matinee here yesterday. Interesting decor - take an escalator up a floor to get to the theaters. when we purchased our tickets we were presented with a seating map, and chose our seats in advance. the seats themselves were large and comfortable, and the theater was clean. Came here for a friends student film from the Art Institute of Dallas. The theater itself is very fancy, and has seating for people who are waiting on the second floor, as well as a bar. The seating was comfy enough, and they were very diligent in the lobby about picking up popcorn. They let the Art Institute set up a mini red carpet so that people could take pictures for their student project like a real red carpetVery nice theater, 5 star rating

What a great theater. Some of the films are what is in other theaters - but there is also a lot other films - not sure if they classify as Indie or film festival but definitely worth checking out. For instance, recently I viewed Echo in the Canyon, mostly not in other theaters. Its about Laurel Canyon out in L.A. 1965 - 67 when some bands turned out exceptional music. Crosby Stils and Nash, the Byrds, Mamas and Papas, Beach Boys. A masterpiece of a film it shows some influence from the Beatles on some of their work. Also when one of them performed in England they were able to meet with Paul McCartney and some of the Beatles. Also talks about the guitars they were obsessed with. Amazing interviews with Brian Wilson, Tom Petty, Ringo Starr and many other great musicans. The theater has alcohol you can take in to the movie and a great snack bar.Angelika has at least one film festival a year.Lots great places to eat and shop right there, its part of an outdoor mall.
