Very surprised that in such a busy part of town there is such an intimate theater. Parking is easy as there is a parking structure. I got there early though and would suggest it. The seats are leather and extremely comfortable. The popcorn is delicious and they use real butter! It is a down to earth place and worth a visit!

This theater has been around for awhile and I hope it keeps up everything it has done for the neighborhood. Every time I have seen a movie here I have loved the smaller local experience I get. Less kids running around like a day care and more quality movie going experience.

Oh my gosh! Becky look at her.... DRINK. if you dont mind being lit and around lip people while you have a good time at the movies then this place is still definitely for you!Super classy feel with peaceful background noise and plenty of nice movies to watch. They are known for their specialty drinks but you can still get popcorn and Candy combos to assist. This is probably one of the better date night type movie theaters as well as potential First Dates if you do decide to choose a movie. You can be very intimate and just have a different vibe. The crowd seems to be more mature but that might not always be the case. The only negative I have here is the line to wait for your ticket and buy your fun Movie experience coincides with both of the front doors and sometimes you can just walk straight in and be bombarded by the crowd and not have ample space to wait adequately. All the accents and decor are pretty nice and there is a escalator ride up to the top for the main viewing stage as well as concessions. It can easily be forgotten but when you get to the top of the escalator make a sharp right and there is fun lying within! I wont spoil the surprise just give you directions.

Great place! Comfy seats, fast and friendly snack bar staff. The theater next to ours was loud and the action scene (in assuming) noise and music bled over to our theater. But everything else was perfect.

One of the best theaters to see an indie film. With a slick bar and not your average concessions, this place is great choice for those who are tired of generic movie chains. Makes a great choice for date night!

Theatre needs updated, most theatres are providing larger more relaxed electric reclining chairs, this still had the old style tiny chairs that barely move. Kind of like sitting on a southwest flight for a 2 hour movie. Very crowded and cramped for an empty theatre.

It has a great selection of indie movies like Alamo Drafthouse does, but has better popcorn! The seats are nice leather but not reclining ones as you may have become accustomed to at other theatres. It is, however, cheaper than some other indie theatres.

Our experience started out well, which is why Ive chosen two stars instead of one. Rex was very friendly and helpful. He entered the theater after everyone was seated to welcome and wish us all a Happy New Year and give a quick plug for a Hitchcock movie they were showing that evening; it was endearing.I left just moments later to get a Sprite for my boyfriend because he was feeling nauseated. Not knowing the intensity, I asked the employee (Ashley, I believe) who assisted me at concessions for a second cup. She refused unless I paid another $5.75 for the empty cup, which I find ridiculous. I explained my boyfriend was feeling ill and that our seats werent ones that could be quickly exited. She offered either a trash bag or a VERY small childs cup. I declined as the childs cup would not be up to the task, so to speak, and the bag would draw unwanted attention. (My unwelcome goal was just to stack the drink in the second cup so, if the worst happened, he had an adequate but subtle receptacle.) She was unwilling or incapable of acting outside the policy to assist us. I gave her ample opportunity to exercise free thought and act like a human being but was never impolite.I returned to my seat with the Sprite and, as I handed it to my boyfriend, I whispered, Were never coming back here again. And we wont.I would have been happy to pay a lesser amount, but to charge the entire price of the drink for an empty cup is, like I wrote above, ridiculous.

It is in a great location. The theater has a small bar which is well stocked. You can take your drinks into the movie. The snack bar has a good selection of snacks and beer. After the movie you can go to one of the numerous restaurants in the area. All within in walking distance. There are also trendy clothing stores if youre in the shopping mode. To avoid parking we took uber from our hotel in the Market Center area. It was only about $7 each way. Well worth it. Overall a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening. There are several hotels in the area which you can easily walk from.

Small, inviting place. The custodian was very nice, and he came right before the movie started to hype the audience up and to remind people not to use their phones. Its a small human touch, but it made the experience better. The ticket price is not very expensive, about the same as every other theater, so I think its a great value.

I like the movie theater, its cool. Like the fact they have a full bar. A lot of the indie films are shown here, which I like because its not normally crowded. I normally purchase my tickets online so when I get to the box office, all I do is just show my email and they can scan it and its very easy. All the theaters are upstairs, when you get off the escalator, the concession stand is right in front of you. The bar is around the corner to the right. Its not a big space but its a cool little space to get a drink and of course its always cool to have alcohol in the theater with you. The actual theaters are pretty standard, but once again theyre not super huge as this isnt a huge complex to begin with. The only criticism I have is that I feel that the bathrooms can be better as far as cleanliness goes.

Classic theater in Dallas. Came here to see The Shape of Water. Staff are very polite and welcoming at the ticket booth and the concessions. There is a bar and if Im not mistaken, you can enjoy your beverage in the theater. Ticket prices are decent and the entire atmosphere definitely feels more grown up and less flooded with pre-teens and teens dropped off to see movies. Film is great by the way! I highly recommend The Shape of Water!

Great location for the proximity to downtown but parking can be rough. The screens are small relative to most megaplexes now, but the sound systems are up to snuff. Best bonus is the small bar that lefts to buy wine and buckets of beer that arent outrageously over priced. Of note they usually only play smaller more independent films or thought provoking ones, rarely the big blockbusters.

5 star Loved it rating is maybe a little strong - seating assignment is a pain, because you cannot change seats if you wind up next to a noisy fat basturd. I would go more often if Cuban would change the line up in a reasonable time frame of 6 to 8 weeks instead of the current 12 to 16 weeks. I am sure it is good for his bottom line, but not for the local escapist community. 4.5 for Love it.

Magnolia is a solid theater for its size and location. It only has about 6 screens, so the selection isnt the most diverse, but it usually has a mix of wide audience and indie movies. If you are planning on seeing a new release, you might want to by tickets in advance through their website as seat are pre-selected. Seats are comfortable but not the most room for your legs if youre tall. Prices arent outrageous and they have a few discounts.

I come here once a year to see the a film in this luxurious theater. The seats are comfortable, the audio is great, the screen is large, and overall the atmosphere is what one would expext from a theater attended by the Dallas bourgeois. Keep in mind you must preorder your tickets and choose the seats since it is not likely that you can always buy your tickets at the actual box office. It is by far one of my two favorite theaters in Dallas. If you are looking for a film-lovers movie experience, I recommend it.

My favorite theater in Dallas, bar none, for so many reasons. Tuesdays 7:30 Big Movie (retrospective) is my passion. I am there almost every week. They have an Oscar panel the week before the Oscars and it is among my favorite events of the year in Dallas. The seats are the most comfortable in any theater anywhere. The staff members are absolutely the best.
