For me, it was bittersweet. The theater itself was nice, and the movie was great. Comfy seating in a nice, big theater. However, the walk through the one remaining hallway of what used to be Valley View Mall made me sad. I was reminded of the malls heyday. I remember walking Valley View as a teenager. The memories of the food court, the stores, and that iconic elevator in the center that is flanked by two escalators and almost surrounded by fountains all came rushing back. Then, as my bf and I took the long escalator to go up to the movie theater, he told me to look down. I couldnt believe my eyes. There in the darkness sat the elevator I so vividly remember. The fountains are now empty. The elevator and the two escalators on either side of it no longer function. The food court and all the stores are gone. As we drove out of the parking lot after the movie, I started to cry. The AMC is all that remains of a once great and thriving retail complex. Memories of my youth have been reduced to rubble. I honestly dont know how long this theater will hold out. I guess shopping malls are a bygone era now. I am left with more questions than answers. Why did it go away? What will be built in its place? It seems so unfair. I understand that things change, but this is just heartbreaking. R.I.P., Valley View.

Great theater. Very comfortable seats and excellent projection. The lobby is state of the art with every kind of food and beverage you could want, including a variety of liquor. Theres plenty of parking in the area, as well as restaurants for a bite to eat before or after the show. Ticket prices arent cheap, but comparable with any like theater in Dallas.

The theatre although a distance from the main entrance still holds the same charm as it did many years ago. Bringing in people from all walks of life to view movies at a very affordable cost. Its a place where buying the condiments is reasonable and does not set you back, enhancing your movie experience with the typical movie goer persona. The screen, close to the seats makes the movie that much more up close and personal.

Full concession stand; standard prices. Bathrooms are clean, theaters are fine but the seats are dated. Considering that you can watch a movie in a recliner now then these seats might be uncomfortable to you. But the arms go up, allowing you to snuggle with your boo and they are spacious. Overall this theater is worth checking out for the money you save.

Good hidden theatre, the fact that it’s inside a demolished mall does not stop people from going. Out of the many times I’ve gone, there have only been one or two times were the movie was cut off because of technical issues. Unfortunately they’ve raised their prices just a bit, but the main thing I liked about this place was that it was so cheap!

This theater is the only remaining thing operating in a derelict mall that was scheduled to be razed to the ground over a decade ago. The shell of the mall that I used to go to in the 90s looks like something out if a post apocalypse movie. It was the perfect place to take my kid for her 13th birthday. We watched It chapter 2 in a haunted mall, couldnt have asked for a better adventure. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful, the first run evening tickets were around 5 dollars. The auditorium was clean and in good repair. Yes, the seats are dated in this age of recliners and such, but they were comfortable and clean. The only drawback is that they have walked off the mall so you cant see the abandoned storefronts and get that true horror movie effect. There is mall security on site, so you feel secure being there. Will return.

Spent $22 on 2 adult and 2 kids, but $40 on a large popcorn, 2 slurpees, 2 candies, and a coffee!!! The staff was EXCELLENT!!! We watched Sonic. Wasnt excited to see it however, I was pleasantly surprised! Jim Carey was ok, funny at times, but an over actor. The movie is a good family show, I recommend it.

Bad experience. It was like being a teacher during a field trip. Only young people or kids who do not respect the silence during the movie. They were speaking all the time. The cinema is cheap then only students and family with kids come. Most of them do not how to behave. They just come to have fun with their peers. The cinema is extremely dirty. It was a mistake. I thought I can enjoy a movie for a cheap price but you get for what you pay.

It is still open. All the individual ideal theaters are operational. The concession stand is barely operational. Took a while to find someone to serve me. There is minimal staff. When I go to other AMCs, they have root beer. Not this one. The theater was almost empty. When in the mall, it us not obvious to find where the AMC actually is. The digital signs above the individual theaters dont work. The concessions are full price. I used my A-list to reserve a seat, so that works. Although it is like a ghost town, it is clean and has current posters advertising upcoming attractions, so it appears the theater will be operational at least for a while. You must enter the AMC building only from the LBJ side. If you try from Preston, you will have to drive all around, along Monfort inside the basic mall circular drive to go to the LBJ entrance on the south. which is well marked.

This is unfortunately the worst experience I have had with any theater. So bad that I almost walked out of the movie at its start and demanded a refund.I went with my family to see The Rise of Skywalker. First off, its in Valley View Mall, which at the time of writing is being torn down, so you have to go through a boarded up hall and an escalator to get to the theater. That wasnt a turnoff for me, but it doesnt make a very inviting entrance experience. The lobby was fine, but the bathrooms were dirty and in bad repair. One of the stalls in the mens room had a door that didnt even fit its width, making the stall useless. The theater itself was dingy and worn, with dirty, faded and badly-worn carpet, and half the overhead and side lights not working. The theater then failed to start the trailers on time, and after ten minutes of staring at a black screen, several people, including myself, had to go ask the theater to play the film. They did start it then, and skipped the trailers for us. But they played it without sound! Imagine, the opening Star Wars title crawl, completely silent!. I and a number of others exited the theater and complained, after which management restarted it properly. But the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth, and I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience. When all was said and done, the picture and sound quality were admittedly excellent. Still, I cannot recommend this theater. One final insult was that the theater had shut down the down escalator by the time the movie let out, and everyone had to walk down it, cementing the poor customer experience of the theater.

Despite the ongoing demolition surrounding the theatre, AMC Valley View still does their best to give a good experience to movie goers. Hands down, the ticket prices are amazing! However, the cleanliness of the theatre was disappointing. Most importantly, the service was lacking. Its slow and availability of items was a consistent letdown. Weve been several times and the food ordered was never available or would take 30 minutes to cook!!!! Considering that the food is pricey already, the quality was very low. I know its not their fault, but the crowd is always loud and distracting during the movies. Really, kind of depressed about the state of this theatre. We used to visit all the time when we lived in DFW. Was in town and decided to catch a flick, and this was the closest spot. Was surprised to find the mall all but abandoned. Only three people working - and working their tails off, and all very friendly - so service was slow. Not a big deal, it was a Tuesday evening. Ads everywhere, including on screen before the movie and posters in the lobby for all AMCs great amenities - freestyle drinks, reclining seats, etc. - none of which this theatre had. First row we tried to sit in, a couple of the seats had what looked like dried vomit all over them. Picked a row a couple up from that. The floor was so sticky if you stood still too long it was hard to pull your feet up. And apparently unbeknownst to us, there was fresh gum on the seat my husband sat in - and now all over his jeans. And to top it all off, the power to the whole place went out about 10 minutes before the end, just as all the action is really getting good. It came back on, and they gave us the option of a refund or staying until the end, which we choose. I couldnt bring myself to give it just one star because the staff is trying so hard and I have a feeling the theatre is really struggling in a dead mall. But with so many other choices around town, I doubt AMC will be investing any money in this theatre, or that it will be around much longer.

The theatre is older, located in an abandoned mall. Seats were comfortable, the room clean, ticket were only $6 per person for a 4pm showing. The movie, GREEN BOOK, was excellent : funny, entertaining, great acting, I most appreciated the two characters, Tony and Dr Shirley, evolving relationship. I felt the story was more about two characters and less so about the southern environment. It was mild compared to my real-life experience, though Dr Shirley entertained in a much different setting than I lived. (Im black, grew up in the south before 1962.)One revealing scene, of many enjoyed, a conversation between Tony and the other members of the Don Shirley Trio: Tony was puzzled why Shirley performed in the south, one responded Shirley could make 10 times more money performing in the north. Later on one gets a verbal picture of Shirleys background. Then I understood money was not the purpose of his performing in the south .Much swearing, and it was not gratuitous, considering each character and setting.Lastly, I highly recommend the movie, will likely see it again.

While Valley View doesnt rip you off on ticket prices like North Park, I didnt appreciate the customer service tonight. My friend forgot his ID, and this employee refused to sell him a ticket to see Us. Even though me and my other friends the same age as him had our IDs, she still refused. He was forced to watch another movie without us. She threatened to kick us out if she caught him in our theater. That employee came into our theater to see if he was with us at least FOUR times during the movie. Of course, our friend never came into our theater, because that would be illegal. I understand she was technically doing her job, but I cannot believe that such a petty human being exists. She had no incentive to try to catch us other than screw us over. While my friend should have brought his ID, it was very obvious that he was of age, and VERY annoying she tried to find a reason to kick us out of the theater as if it was a way for her to find self-validation. While I wont single the employee out, I just want to leave this review here as a reminder that people like this exist, and you should be weary. And always bring an ID!

Its a theater in a demolished abandoned mall. Parking lot was scary af, condoms and other things on the floor, along with 100+ kidnapper vans (after 6 pm). Literally felt like I was back in the 90s with the electronics not working and display of showtimes. Also, the ticket person had to make sure we were 21 to see a rated R movie... I thought it was 17 but whatever Im 21+++. The food service was not all that good, asked for a cup of water and when I saw her put ice into the cup, a jalapeno went inside the cup as well. Saw her pour out the jalapeno but when I received the cup there was still seeds from the jalapeno, definitely returned that. Ordered chicken tenders which were supposed to come with fries and a cookie, only came with the tenders. Too lazy to walk back to the service counter because movie already started due to spending a good 20 minutes in the ticket line cause there is only one person handling that. The monitors listing movies and showtimes was blinking on and off literally every second, so it was hard to see what movies they were showing.
