Love love love this location. We typically go at least every two weeks and have had great experiences. Even the few times weve had issues staff or management were quick to make our experience better. Im looking forward to going back whenever its safe to do so! I just wish theyd bring back their AMAZING tofu sandwich. Id get it every time.
Great service and food some theater are a bit small for my liking but still very cozy so I don’t really mind it also like the old school theater theme they go with very nice.
Great service and really nice theatre. Covid guidelines are well met and explained. Can order ahead or before the movie begins so can still enjoy a meal with your movie
Hands down the best place to see a movie in Dallas. The upstairs bar has a great selection of beers on tap and a great view of the city from its patio. In the theater the seats are comfortable with lots of leg room. The staff does a wonderful job of taking your orders during the show without getting in the way.Overall a good place for a night out
I used to work at this location, and I am cool with most of the management staff, servers, bartenders and a handful of the cooks. I really enjoy cinema at this place.
Went during the middle of the day so the theater wasnt full, which made watching the movie much better. Ordered a hamburger and the chocolate chip milk shake. Both were really good, but the shake came out early, so it was gone by the time my burger came out. The seats were good, but mine didnt recline so that was the only blemish on an otherwise great experience.
My experience in this theater was not a good 1. I was asked to leave by a young white man Because I was black. How Ironic it is now that youre theater is closed and you are out of a job. Fortunately or unfortunately covid 19 is the equalizer. Injoy your life because I am happy prosperous and thoroughlyenjoying mine. Good luck finding employment again and good riddance when your theater goes out of business.
Awesome theatre chain worth getting out of Mesquite for! Such a unique vibe compared to average theaters even though they are upgrading to serving food and drinks. The food is good here, as Im always trying something new each time I come. But most important thing is coming to see the movies, which is projected with good quality sound and clear picture while sitting in their comfortable reclining seats.
This location is fabulous ! ...The seating is so comfy but the getting in and out takes some skill. Their Richardson location will always be special but this one here with the patio views and roll up windows, old time elevator is just awesome ! ...I love the wide open feeling it gives. I was there for the Mothers Day Breakfast at Tiffanys and I enjoyed myself. Thank you so very much to Champ, Soldier, the kitchen staff and servers, even the ticket staff. They made all of us feel at home or better and our 4 course meal was amazing !
Can never go wrong with the Draftouse.
My family and I enjoy coming to Alamo! They have made an improvement to their menu...more items and now they sell breakfast all day! When we don’t have a full plate, we enjoy sharing their Truffle Popcorn. It’s so good! Straws aren’t standard so if you need one be sure to ask for one.Be sure to get there early! One if the BEST parts about the Alamo Drafthouse is their preshow! Plus it’s helps to get an early start on ordering your food and drinks!
My favorite place in Dallas to catch a movie. Love the bar with the downtown view on the patio. Its the best of the best for big movie experience.
Really great concept, execution could be better. My seat didnt recline (others did) and there are some repairs that this theater needs to deal with in the bathroom etc -especially for the amount they charge - I paid almost $15 to purchase my ticket online and 21 bucks for a burger & coffee that was just okay, I wanted to order a cocktail, but $12 bucks?!?! No thanks. The server mumbled and took forever to get my written on paper request and then to bring what I asked for (cream for my coffee), I thought about ordering dessert but with that kind of service, the movie would have been over. I like the idea of no late comers and strict no phones policy, but with that type of strictness & price, they need to have better servers and service.
I struggled between 4 or 5 stars due to slower service once we entered the movie room. We stopped by the bar before hand and picked up drinks. He was outstanding - timely and efficient. It took a little longer than expected for our food/drink request sheet to be noticed once we figured out we needed to slide the paper in a special slot at the front. I think the wait staff must have been switching out during our movie ... someone different noticed our order slip than approached us upon entering movie room.Overall this was a good experience and we will be back.
BEST MOVIE THEATRE EVER. I love this place, you can get a cheap ticket, pretty well priced food, and a lot of other stuff. You can tell that every single worker loves the theatre and movies themselves. Of all the movie theaters in existence, this is by far the best one. Thank you Alamo for making watching movies an experience, and not a pathetic cash grab.
For some reason Alamo theaters always feel a little dirty to me. Aside from that, the seats are spacious and comfortable. The back reclines but feet don’t kick up. That’s just being picky I guess since I’ve been to other theaters that are slightly more comfortable.
We went there for a party, but didn’t stay there too long since it’s not much to do. But the place is not too bad, didn’t have chance go inside check out the movie theater.
Manager greeted us,service was excellent and all precautions taken, a safe experience
This was an experience that I’ll never forget, and it was so fun!! Alamo Drafthouse did an awesome job at making things as simple and intuitive as possible, and their food is AMAZING! I can’t wait to go back when I’m in town.
Has a great view of downtown Dallas. Outside of dining while watching movies it’s also a great place to host a business function. They have private rooms upstairs for any after parties.
Quiet atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and food. Vegan food is very tasty and they are very attentive if you order a vegan item.Friendliest staff for a movie theatre you could ask for. Have returned multiple times and always bring friends.Alamo Drafthouse makes a huge deal out of talking during the movie or being on your phone and I agree 110%. Keep on keeping on!
Very family friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves, will definitely be back again.
Cool place. Not very receptive or hospitality driven. Saw two movies recently but have yet to be asked about placing an order for food or drinks. The place is clean and nice and I really enjoyed the patio view from the Vetted Well. Maybe I can give it another star after I try the dine in part.
Our favorite movie theater! The seats are comfy, the food is good, and they always have fun photo ops set up. I also appreciate their Alamo for All program, where they have sensory friendly showings on Tuesday mornings for young families and guests with special needs.
Good movie theatre, different though. All food is served to your seat. It’s was hard to read the menu and write down what I wanted in the dark. Popcorn was hot and plentiful.Waitress was good, very attentive but tipping cultures do that. The seats were a bit worn and not sure if it was meant to recline, if was it didn’t.As an FYI, the theatre is in a sketchy part of town so heads up if there after dark.
With 32 beers on tap, great food and friendly service this theatre was a very pleasant surprise for two Australian tourists looking to do something out of the rain. The reclining theatre seats were comfortable and you could order food and drinks during the film without getting up from your chair using an under table glow lamp and a card. This was a real treat.
The Alamo Drafthouse at the Cedars serves up another great instance of the Drafthouse concept. An great selection of current and classic movie showings, as well as fun events to commemorate releases and (select) film anniversaries, will give you excuse enough to return often. The Vetted Well upstairs is also excellent, with a cozy patio space that offers a great view of downtown Dallas. To top it off, the Cedars Alamo serves quality food good enough to crave with or without a movie to accompany it. If youre near, definitely give yourself a chance to visit.
The perfect place for a date night. My guy and I thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs bar before we entered the theater. Then we ordered our food and were very pleasantly surprised, everything was so delicious! I highly recommend seeing movies here! Staff was very friendly too.
Attended a closed/reserved party in the upstairs Bar Vetted Well. Staff was excellent and food/drinks were top notch. Staff was amenable to all of our requests and helped facilitate an excellent event. Would recommend for event space.
This theater was beautifully retro and clean. The clerk was friendly and even told us about the good days the bring the children while out on Thanksgiving break. Our waitress and friendly and fast. The food was good but a little too good for my sleepy husband. Not too sure about the food/drink prices, slightly higher than usual. We went during a matinee and there were not many people there (maybe being on the outskirts of Downtown Dallas helped). Overall I had a great experience as this was our first time attending.
Theres no better place to grab a beer and watch a movie. Alamo Drafthouse does it right by implementing rules that make the movie-going experience unique for film lovers. And their food is not bad at all!
This is our regular movie place for my husband and I. We love it here bc the service here is flawless. The process of getting tickets are as easy as 1,2,3. The rooftop bar is such a great place to hang before your movie starts or when your movie ends. Bartender can make you any drink as long as they have all the components for it. The actual building, furniture, theatre, etc., is always immaculate. The food tastes great and comes out on time. The servers are always nice and never get anything wrong. Ordering food and drinks before, and during the movie is always a breeze. The only thing we havent tried yet is the karaoke rooms up top. Best part that sets them at the top are the cinematic selections they choose to show here. They show great old time classics and themed movies for certain holidays as well.
I normally love Alamo Drafthouse because when my fiance and I have movie date night we can get seats to awesome new movies and its not quite packed during the week, . The very first time I went the older bartender gentleman poured me an AMAZING crown and coke! It was pretty pricey though! The food is priced about the same as Studio Movie Grill. This last time we went I was COMPLETELY disappointed. We went to see Bad Boys 3 the Thursday that it came out; we placed an order for fried pickles, wings and a coke. All we ever received were 2 glasses of water that we didnt order. One young lady sat someone elses order on our table and about 3-5 minutes later a gentleman came by and asked if that was our order. My fiance let him know it wasnt and told him about us not receiving our order....it still didnt make it to the table. We were so ready to leave we were walking out the door at the end not realizing we were about to miss the part when Will Smith was talking to his son in jail. Im really not happy about it and were looking for another local theater.
I have been to a couple of the Alamo locations, this one has changed how I feel about them! The seats were comfortable and the food was excellent. Ive had sub-par service at another location so often, I stopped even thinking about going to Alamo for movies. After this visit, this location has changed my view on what an experience with them should feel like!*Side note, parking is atrocious. There was a show at Southside Ballroom the same evening I went to Alamo and it took me 15 minutes to find parking on a Saturday night. Be prepared to walk or drive around. This area could benefit from a parking garage!
We love this place! the food is consistent as is the service in the theater. only complaint is the truffle butter popcorn is NOT consistent, when its off its not good... but when its made right its the best thing ever! overall, we love this place and will be back
Nice theater, pretty clean. The food was good but the service was slow. We ordered before the show started and didnt receive our food until halfway through the movie. I started to let the server know to cancel the rest of the order but the next time I saw him he brought our pizza.
Alamo is always a great place to see a movie. It just feels like they love movies and want you to have a good experience. The seats are a bit worn and are in need of an upgrade, but the drinks and shakes are spot on.
The place is clean, there are reclining chairs with tables, there are no snack bar lines to stand in so you wont miss any of the movie. Snacks and drinks are brought to your chair, write your order from the menu and your host will pick it up and deliver. Best theater Ive ever been in.
The couple of times I’ve been at this theater have been enjoyable. I like the no talking and no late arrival policies they have in place. Service is great and I have enjoyed the movies I’ve seen at this theatre. Will definitely return in the future to watch more features.
Things were going fine until my Cosmo came with salt on the rim instead of sugar. Other than that it was pleasant and friendly. The elevator was scary.
I love coming here. Love the fact they have a app were you can buy your tickets. Services is awesome. Food is good. Overall I enjoy coming here. Especially for the movies parties.
OK listen up tourist... I mean read up? Alamo is like shiner beer to us Texans. We take pride in this theater because they actually care about the movie going experience. If you havent been here try the bar upstairs before the movie! Also the gravy for the chicken tendies is addicting.
Loved this place. We needed hours to kill to get our passport near by and was a perfect place to kill time while eating good food and watching a movie. The staff was friendly and made sure to get everything to us in a timely manner. Food was surprisingly good compared to other locations Ive been to in the past
I love this place. Great movies and food to eat as I watched. Seats are comfortable. Theater holds a large number of patrons. Its my recommendation
I regularly go to all of the Alamos, and this is probably one of my favorite locations. Usually pretty easy to park, even if it is a little further away. Good service, and its nice that you can pre-swipe for your purchase so you dont have to wait for your card to be collected, as not all of the locations have this feature yet. The seats do not fully recline, which is fine for me, just specifying for anyone who may care about that. I really like the fried pickles as they are spears instead of the usual chips. Overall good menu.
A group of eight girls and I sang karaoke here in a private room and had a great time. The larger screen wasn’t working so the first round of drinks was on them. We used the same small screen that we used to select the songs to read the words (a little awkward). Drinks and service were good.
Always a great time!!! The bar is awesome and Sonic was lit!!! Thank you so much to always being a group of awesome people! I feel a happiness Everytime I watch a movie there.
This Cinema is centrally located to downtown. Had a business group event. This building is a little tricky to get to parking. Not the businesses fault. Just be aware especially at night.
Love Taco Tuesdays- Great Margaritas served for the occasion (note Taco Tuesday Margaritas do not enjoy the $2 discount on happy hour).Service is great: Servers have great rapport and food is served quickly although the cinema wasnt busy when I went there. Date loves the cauliflower wings.Seats are comfy and the screen looks great. Definitely the better Studio Movie Grill.
LOVE these theaters. So great. Popcorn amazing! Salad just okay. Stick to popcorn
My girlfriend and I went to this place to watch Queen and slim. This movie theater need better customer service, I ordered food and did not get it, the seats or destroyed. I will not got back to spend 34.00 to watch a movie. If request that management contact me to discuss my issues.
Great atmosphere and food/drinks inside. They have a wide variety of films every week or so, so theres a good chance you end up going more than you thought.
I took my kids here to see the classic Ian Fleming film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and had a couple of beers and food. The servers were helpful, the food was fine, and the movie was shown on a nice big screen. The theater itself was clean and fresh. My family really enjoys the Alamo Drafthouse, and we have been to several of their locations. They all meet very high standards. A hearty recommendation!
This place is a vibe. I love the decor. The servers are efficient and the food was great. Wonderful place to see a movie!
Ive been to this location twice and both times its been VERY disappointing. My first time at the Cedars location was to see Avengers Endgame. My wife and I waited over 30 minutes for her water. We had to ask for it twice before the server brought it. Meanwhile, my soft drink came out almost immediately. It also took forever for our food to be delivered. My second time was to see a movie with a special rate for Victory members. Water was ordered for both my wife and I, we asked for lemons with be water. No lemons. We ordered 2 burgers and asked for lemons again. No lemons. My burger came out first. We waited. I ate. We waited. I ordered a chocolate shake with no whipped cream. It was delivered...with whipped cream. No burger ever came for my wife. We were told that there was a mix up and that that was no way that they could deliver her food before the movie ended. The only reason my wife will go with me to the movies, and Alamo Drafthouse specifically, is to get a burger. Needless to say weve had 2 bad experiences at this theater and we wont be back. Im really disappointed because I love Alamo Drafthouse and their whole concept, but this location is just not holding up the standard.
I have always loved going to the movies. Its been a passion since I was very young and also didnt help that I was projectionist for close to ten years in my youth. I love the Alamo Drafthouse primarily because you go there to actually see a movie, and not listen to your neighbors gab through it. If I want that Ill go to another theater. The food is always incredibly good and so are the drinks. If you get a chance a little-known secret is the bar thats upstairs try it out the guys that are there are wonderful.
This is a beautiful, clean theater with friendly staff and a fun vibe. The bar upstairs is awesome and has a great balcony with a nice view of downtown Dallas - we like to get to the theater an hour or so before our movie and have a couple of cocktails up there before the show. My one complaint is that sometimes we get there early only to find that the bar is closed down for a private event. Itd be great if you could get some kind of notification via email or the Alamo app if the bar will be closed around the time of your show, so you can plan accordingly.
I love this place. I refuse to watch movies at any other chain. The rules are the best part, no talking or texting. Plus the food and drinks!
Tuesdays are $5.41 tickets and $4 tacos. Staff friendly, food great and drinks taste amazing. There is a movie short prior to the movies, go early if you like. The back of the chair reclines but the feet section does nkt move. Kind of a higher class studio movie grill feel. See the patio upstairs, great view. Btw the adult shake, I just want an IV of it, doesnt taste like alcohol but can feel afterwards.
They have some of the best movie parties ever!!
Always enjoy this place. I was a little disappointed that our server didnt offer to refill the bottomless bowl of popcorn and there were three of us sharing the bowl. We also asked for an extra smaller bowl and that was not provided either. Neither of these things will keep me from coming back. Just wanted you to know the service could have been a little better.
This is hands down our favorite theater. We love Alamo drafthouse, and this location has a lovely bar area on the roof where you can hang out with friends before or after your flick!
Enjoyed the movies here!I really like that it’s modern and up to date. I like the feel of a little bit of a restaurant and movies. Just feels old as in how movies were but also new as in how you really don’t have to wait in line at all if you don’t want to everything is online and they check your tickets when your seated so that a big plus!
Happy hour is great! Their drinks are made right, and their fried pickles are delicious (caution:very hot!) I wish they would open one of these in California. All the patrons are on their best behavior since they have a one and done rule.
Everything about this place was awesome. Great selection, good prices, and very clean facilities. Will definitely be back.
Really good theater, good menu and food while you enjoy the movie. Pretty cool bar upstairs, good crowd and a really cool view from the roof at night. One of my fave places!
I went around 4pm. The seats are nice, the service aas great, and the screen was bigger than I imagined. It was actually some of the best popcorn Ive had at a theater. I enjoyed it and because it was so close to my house Ill be returning. Id say definitely go check this joint out.
Great place to enjoy a movie. They have nice bar and delicious dishes. The service is great.
VEGAN OPTIONS!!!! The private karaoke rooms were small but big enough for the occasion. We had SO much fun for my friends birthday !!! Nick, our server was friendly and fast. Would recommend. So much fun.
Lets start from the beginning is 15 min away from home which make it super convenient for me. Nice pricing for Tuesday night movies, ticket is free if is your birthday and you are a member. Food is tasty nice selection on drinks. Chairs are very comfortable. This is my #1 choice for movies now on. Highly recommended!!!!!
This is absolutely my favorite place to go to the movies. Great location, amazing outside sitting to drink and/or eat before and/or after your movie. Just a really cool place to go overall.
The movie was great and the seating was fantastic but the service was just a little off. Wished it would have been better.
Good experience and the service go with it ....
Every time we come we are fine but when we came today we had one of the worst experiences of our life due to complaints about us talking. we had two kids with us this time and after going there for six years that’s the first time we brought them they .where whispering about the movie the couple behind us had completely blamed us for 50% of the noise in the theater after six years we understood that us getting kicked was leading to the fall of this place
I love this theatre! I go here a lot with my friends and we enjoy going here a lot. Tuesday’s there’s usually a discount on the tickets, at least every time we had gone on Tuesdays, and the service is wonderful. The last time we went there we watched Toy Story 4 and there was a little activity outside of it. I highly recommend this theatre, the experience was wonderful.
Good place to grab quality food and drinks in a nice sit down restaurant. Movie theater is clean and ordering process during movie was efficient and great.
Definitely our favorite theater. Great food and great service. There’s no other place we’d rather go.
Its better than SMG. It has a more laid-back feeling. Also, before the movie starts, they show vintage movie clips, that were very cool and entertaining. Alamo Drafthouse is my go to spot for movies
Its a cool place and the staff was very professional and nice. Plenty of free parking too! I like the fact that there is a reading light so you can see the menu in the dark but wish there was a way to turn if off during the movie. I found it distracting.
This was my first experience, and I would have to say I was a little disappointed. The staff didnt seem like they wanted to be there or knowlegable about their items for sale. The viewing experience was just ok. I would have been more comfortable watching from my home.
Seats are very comfortable and the theater is great. Imax theater is nice and big. Can see the screen from almost every seat.March 11,2019The Alamo draft house during Texas week (spring break) let teachers in for free all you had to do was present your school Id and it had to be before 5pm . This place never ceases to amaze me. I have not been given anything from any other business except for chick-fil-a, but for a business to do this is awesome, that is why I will be a repeat customer with my family.
Great app. Great service. Food is good. Great sound system for every screen.
I love this theater! The upstairs bar and outdoor seating is a really great reason to get to your movie early and have a relaxing drink with a great view.
Comfortable seats, great food, fantastic selection of beers on taps and cocktails. The enforced no phones and no talking is the greatest thing to ever happen to theatres. And the price for tickets are incredibly reasonable.
Great experience. Take the elevator or the stair at the front in the lobby area to go up to Vetted well which is the 2nd floor bar. They have a full menu and and full bar. They have an outdoor patio in the back passed the karaoke rooms that you can view downtown. You can also rent out this place for any type of event.
I really enjoy coming here. I went in the morning time to see Endgame and I had a wonderful experience. The amaretto sours are always delicious and I tried the chicken tenders for the first time and they were pretty freaking good too. I didnt care for the gravy but it wasnt bad. Im going to have to try more food options
Nice and extremely schick place to enjoy a movie. Plus the popcorn is the absolute best ever.
I go here ALL the time and love this place! Ive been for matinee, late movies, midday,...you name it Ive been there . We always order a meal, popcorn and some beverage. Love that they have Austin EastCider. However this last time (Mustang vs Ferrari) we werent acknowledge by anyone! We were there at least 10 minutes beforehand. No one checked our tickets, asked if we wanted to order or anything! I placed out order on a card and left it where it is assigned. . 15-20 minutes later... nothing. I had to get up to the crew station area .. let someone know and he scolded me telling me Next time PLEASE, Just put the card up, thats what theyre there for! ...uhm.. EXCUSE YOU, I DID! Other than that I love this place... hoping this doesnt become a habit.
We usually love the Alamo, but the service today on Christmas was terrible. I asked three times for a refill on my iced tea and also tried ordering a water but didnt have any luck. The theatre was clean, and the food was good, though salty, as always thus the 3 stars.
Fun environment and good staff. Never had a bad experience here
I love coming here early and watching the shorts (Birth. Movie. Death. I think) before the movie. Its really cool and doesnt feel like a waste of time. The rooms are spacious but hold an okay amount of people so it feels cozy and familiar. The staff is friendly and the menu variety is pretty good, even includes a kids menu. Theres also a bar upstairs and funny photobooths. Ive been going for two years now and it never disappoints.
Great location and great theater/venue. Pssst... Maleficent was there for the premiere of Maleficent 2. It was awesome!!
