What a gem of a park. A couple of playgrounds scattered throughout the lawns and wooded areas. Nice trail around the perimeter that explores the arboretum, woods, and wildflower meadow. Fabulous variety of picnic areas with charcoal grills and horseshoe pits. The large lawn at the top of the hill is perfect for gazing out at the incredible view of the river.

If this is your first time, and you want to do the Hill Top trail, try walking down the road from the main parking lot until you see a trail sign on the right. Otherwise, you might miss it as the trail doesnt always look like a trail. And, walking it sometimes feels like connecting the dots. Otherwise, was clean and kept after, and the people were nice. Plenty or restrooms for a shorter State Park trail.

I love this park. The disc golf course here is very enjoyable. The rocks that you climb on are also alot of fun for the whole family and great for pictures.

So many simplistic activities to do and all are healthy and free. Sight seeing, star gazing, cookouts, playgrounds, trails to hike or bike, kite flying, acres and acres of green grass and trees, terrific rocks for climbing, picnic benches, all the fresh air and sunshine you can possibly absorb.

I definitely had a lot of fun in this place. I love it. This is my first time here, I wish I have known it earlier. I will come back!!!!!

Best view in PA for me so far, and the kids love climbing around the rocks. The disc golf course also has a pretty good layout.

Its great to take the kids to try out hiking and rock climbing for the 1st time. My boys have all gone at early ages and just love climbing all over the rock formations there.

Just the best place in the world to fly kites. Beautiful hills and open spaces. Gorgeous views of the Susquehanna River and surrounding area. Picnic tables under trees and in the open air pavillion.

Fantastic views. Great for flying kites. Some large boulders for kids to climb on (with parental supervision). Went there to make gigantic bubbles. A little to windy that day but definitely enough open space to try again. Relaxing.

The view of the surrounding area is breathtaking. Nice to see we are above Lancaster and looking down on them. Park is a great place to spend the day. Has picnic areas, disc golf, rocks to climb on and plenty of grass and trees. A awesome place to fly a kite.

What a big beautiful Park this was! The view was stunning, it was very clean oh, there were lots and lots of bathrooms and even more stuff to see and explore!

This park has some of the most beautiful and stunning views of York and Lancaster counties! It sits atop a high hill with lots of open space, pavilions and trees. There is a small playground, ball fields and disc golf. This park is definitely worth visiting at sunset- beautiful site!

Enjoyed watching all of the private and a few fireworks from the park. Not crowded...nice breeze...a little buggy.

Wow what a great park. Samuel S Lewis State Park has been a great place to bring your family for well over 50 years, and its still an amazing place for kites, hiking, or anything you would like to do. Your dog will love you.

This is a nice quiet park. Its small, but offers plenty of room to play sports, fly kites, climb rocks, use the pavilion, benches, and picnic tables, or just enjoy the view of the river. Not anything amazing here, but definitely nice.

Its just beautiful. I was there for the first time . I will definitely be back. The view is something you wouldnt forget .

Beautiful view and dog friendly! My only complaint is that the upper half of the Hill Top Trail isnt clearly labelled. Id recommend parking by the frisbee golf course and starting the trail by the bathrooms there. Much easier to follow that way.

Very beautiful up at the top, nice view. Very hilly for a cross country course however. And the smell in a few of the bathrooms made me want to gag (they are just a hole in the ground with a toilet on top). But there is one ports potty up at the top.

Nice smaller state park on a piece of land with good views. Definitely get windy up on the hill. Nice pavilions for rent for small parties. Plenty of picnic benches. Short but nice hiking trails. Pennsylvania always provides informative maps as well.

A scenic place to fly kites or take a picnic. The hilltop overlooks the Susquehanna and is quite a good view. Its usually windy and theres plenty of open space to fly kites. Down the hill you can find a small boulder field for climbing. Hiking paths are well maintained but nothing spectacular. A few small playground areas with somewhat dated equipment.

Really well kept small state park. Mostly a picnic area. Great for flying kites, has large open fields. Great view of the Cumberland Valley on almost all sides. Short trip over the river out of Harrisburg.

I live nearby, so my go to park for many years. Be prepared for going up or down a huge hill. Trails running along the edges of the park. Wide, maintained trailsSome rocky, some more dirt / grass mix. A few sets of bolder formations great for kids and adults to climb on. Large field area up top by pavilion and hill down to baseball field. Playground area at bottom of hill. Disk golf course also. Grills available for use and charcoal disposable areas. Public non flush toilets. A lot packed into the park, and usually fairly quiet.

The view from the top of the mountain is beautiful. The two miles of foreat and meadow trails are really well taken care of and there are many perfect spots to picnic. Our family loves it here.

It can get pretty hot in the summer. There are trees near by, but not by the beautiful view. Did I mention the view? The park looks over the Susquehanna River. Its definitely a great place for the family!

Came here to play disc golf. Its a pretty fun 9 hole course. I walked up to the top of the hill afterwards and it has an amazing view of the river and surrounding towns. There are also two pokemon gyms and three pokestops here for pokemon go if youre into that.

Come early to get picnic tables for a group of people. Plenty of playground space for kids, a big open field for playing ball, an ample bathroom facilities. Some paths to the bathrooms are macadam.

Great, challenging, 9 hole disc golf course and kids had a great time climbing the rocks.
