Could be a very nice park but theres trash everywhere and a, doesnt look homeless, random guy sleeping in the smaller childrens play center. The facilities available for play have a wide variety of things to play and climb on though, just nasty things all over that Im constantly telling my littlest not to touch

Grass is usually very unkempt. A lot of shady characters use this park, i wouldnt go here after 1 or 2 pm but earlier than that is usually alright. They have water streams for the kids to play in so thats a plus

So many playgrounds in the park for all ages my grandkids had a lot of fun

Park is really nice and clean. I would go before dawn because it could get dangerous around the area

I liked seeing the city workers with cleaning machines keeping the park tidy. There is a section that seems to be abandoned with weeds overgrowing the play stuff, but the rest of the park, and its size is impressive.

Very tranquil, clean liked the monuments pictures, love the huge American flag.

Sprinkler park for the kids that is filtered. A big play ground medium play ground and a small one. Lots of activities for the kids to keep them busy

Since the Covid outbreak, I imagine this place hasnt seen activity since Fall of 2019. I witnessed the Park host families today...it was a good sight. Could use some public grills for gatherings, I think.

It has several places for children of different ages. A super familiar place

A great space in the middle of our city to take a break and enjoy the openness. A lot of events take place here in the summer. But we ought to have MORE!

Nice pretty parts are in the day. Dangerous after Dark.

Grew up on the Penn Common!! Great place to play ball and take a walk!! Monuments are a site to see if you like history

I was here for the What The Food Trucks event and it was spectacular. The park was clean and the event was extremely well organized.

A great playground for kids, just make sure to check the ground where they are playing. The last time I was there with my daughter she almost stepped on a used needle that was laying at the end of a slide.

There are usually nice kids playing here. Three playgrounds of different sizes so theres something for everyone

Pen park is not a place to visit

Trey and Boo Classic annual basketball tournament. Amazing atmosphere, great food, great people. The park is nice too.

I met a woman here to rehome a dog and he absolutely loved the park :)

Penn Park located in the York city area, could have been an enjoyable visit but unfortunately it wasnt due to the fact its center and rumored to be the city battle ground for gang shootouts and lets not fail to mention the unprotected park with not one, not one police patrolling in sight (SHAME, SHAME, SHAME)!!!!!! Im not sure how I am rating a bridge but here goes! The bridge is a beautiful view and is the path to City Island which is also gorgeous with lots of little shops and places to walk. Who doesnt love being on an island? Also great place for PokemonGo lovers.

Went for the What the Food Truck event and had great time. Food options for all types of eaters and was happily surprised with the beer tents!

You dont want to walk here alone at night. My neighbor was jumped here and someone was shot just around the corner. During the day it can get loud with kids but thats what the park is for! Overall its a good park in the daytime.

You would think they could mow the grass and fill in the holes so no one breaks an ancle.

Water fountain is super fun. Its more like a water park.

The park is nice and well kept, during summer they have a play water fountain for the kids, stay out of the park later in the evening, all and all one of the better parks in York City

Kinda small, basketball court, but didnt see a playground. Felt safe in the middle of the day. But left when questioned why I was there. Saw a drug deal happen . Probably will not return.

This area was a Civil War Hospital. History abounds.The modern city park in downtown York known as Penn Park or Penn Common was once a huge field hospital and tended to the wounded and dead from the Battle of Gettysburg. The former location of the York Fair and the U.S. Army Hospital during the Civil War, Penn Commons Park is a beautifully restored greenway that features a tennis court, playground, and pavilion. The park also features the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial. Marked by granite-metal figures, this memorial is dedicated to the men who fought in the Civil War.

Its a wide open area for small summer water and sport fun
