Great History resource and very knowledgeable staff but some are were not well-maintained.
Awesome history in York. Be sure to check out Colonial Day each year in July. This a free event. Knowledgeable people dressed in historical attire showing off demos of many different things including blacksmithing, woodworking, tanning hides/making leather and clothing, historical childrens games, and mortar firings. There are Native Americans speaking about their culture and life in the colonial days in York and yhe surrounding regions. Horse drawn wagon rides, free tours of the colonial buildings, and they sell historical food as well as a Brickers food truck. In the historical courthouse they have whisky tastings. Fun for the whole family.
Great place to gather with family and friends.
The Colonial complex including the reconstructed Courthouse, the Golden Plough Tavern, and the Horatio Gates house are extraordinary historic resources for York. There are few places where you can experience colonial and revolutionary York such as these sites. The fate of these United States were decided in some of these rooms and Im grateful that these cultural resources are properly managed and protected.
Very knowledgeable staff.
Waited and no one showed up at ticket center.
Great History resource, very knowledgeable staff.
Informative hour long tour covering a colonial tavern, Georgian house, and courthouse. Very enjoyable.
