Quite a historical place. I had no idea there is a museum onsite with art from all over the Americas. The main building itself has lots of charm and character.

Fantastic place to visit. Went there for an evening event. The service was superb and the food was spectacular. Had a really nice time and hope to go again.

Finally got to see inside the building, and it didnt disappoint. Beautiful lobby/atrium, and amazing great hall. If one gets a chance to visit the OAS on 17th St., one should take advantage of that chance.

This was a beautiful venue to attend a formal event at. The building was constructed around 100 years ago with funding from Carnegie. There were lots of interesting busts, and beautiful stone architecture throughout.

Called to get information on a Lecture series - Lecture by Prof. Tanya Hernandez - Racial Innocence in the Americas: a U.S. - Latin American Comparison to take place at OAS Headquarters, Washington, DC at 1 pm – “at a specific venue to be confirmed” and there was no operator to assist, just a recording that provided no information. Since I could not make it to the OAS, I called about the lecture webcast, to get a call-in number, no operator, just a recording which provided nothing. I missed the entire program and it seems the no one cared one way or the other. Too bad, I really expected better than this form a reputable organization!!!

This organization accomplishes much more than people ridicule it for...it should take on the role of an European Union in the sense that the whole of North America is united throughout. Its simply not a bad organization, it is for the sticking together of the North American continent.

Valerie. My rating for the OAS is actually zero. It doesnt carry out its mandate, as it should, concerning its member/states. Corruption is rampant, also, within that organization, along witht he IACHR. It is very particular in which member/state it goes after, for any violations of its charter. Currently it has ignored completely, the Canadian governments violation of it, in terms of its human rights abuse record. Petioners from that country, are faced with dealing with the corruption, from the OAS and the IACHR, concerning their claims, for human rights abuse, by that government. This has been covered up entirely, by the OAS and the IACHR. In the meantime it goes after Venezuela and other countries, while ignoring the same actions, from other member/ states, that it is also in league with. The corruption within those two organization, is also unacceptable, to the image of the public. It is an affront, to human rights standards, as well.
