Its very pretty here, tranquil, relaxing, water and open green spaces for kids to play, lots of people using the setting for photos.
Really tall columns with historic significance. Crowded on the weekends and currently closed off for construction (6/07/18). You can still get really close to them but you just cant touch them. Theres information about the columns behind the installation located on the ground. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area.
The park is always beautiful. Unfortunately, a lot of it is currently closed off due to Covid-19.
Great place to spend a sunny day! Would also recommend taking a stroll through the Bonsai garden and seeing bonsai from all over the world. Nice place to bring your dog, have a picnic or just read a good book.
One of the few places mon and I havent been and it was great.
Awesome place to go with great views and right near a herb garden and bondai tree museum definitely would recommend if you like not busy places to sight see in DC
Epic. The architectural history meets political history with a touch of the ruinous.
Located inside of the arboretum, the columms are beautiful and provide many picture opportunities
A very cool experience and hidden gem in D.C.
It was Little bit cold but very good to take pictures cuz nobody comes yet!!! Haha we will go soon when spring comes in
We go there every time we go
It is rather romantic place with some historical spirit
Very beautiful peaceful place.
Historic place, amazing bonsai & penjing museum, tranquil herb garden, national park.
So worth going out of your way on a D.C. road trip to check it out. Its a bit eerie and full of wonder all at once. Definitely should be a quick photo stop when going down/up I-95.
This is one of my favorite places to visit. It is calm and a refuge from the city. Go in the spring when the cherry blossoms or azailas are in bloom. It is beautiful!
This is one of my favorite places to visit. It is calm and a refuge from the city.
Beautiful place to take pictures!
Those columns have witnessed a lot of our history and I encourage anyone to go and visit it. Take a walk to the east of the columns and enjoy the national herbs. The aroma from plants is heavenly good.
You’d never expect to find something like this in NE dc. One of my favorite spots to go to forget I’m in the city!
Cool landmark . I wish I could shoot a movie here. This would probably bring a lot of tourists and help spread the word of the great work the forest service is doing to protect the land. I would probably do some ritualistic Blair witch type stuff and make it super crazy. The columns could be as famous as the steps in the excorsist movie.
I loved it... its a good place just to walk and take cool pictures
Free and a nice walk where youll learn facts from native American medicinal use to uses for brewing beer.
Worth a visit during every season.
One of my favorite places in the district. While I havent seen the fountain function in several years this is still a unique and beautiful location. There is a small parking lot and paved path for accessibility, but the top is made of marble flagstones and can be tricky to navigate. If youd like to see the details of the top of the column, hike across the meadow to a cut down piece. Do take time to hike some of the nature trails here, they are stunning and each area focuses on a different region.
Nice spot for a day out. Its big open area, so if planning to go, make sure to bring a water bottle, shades, and sunscreen. They welcome bikes and have a lot of flowers and bonsais near the location. Also, it is a great place to have a picnic outdoors. The day that I went, they were fixing up the columns area and was blocked off for further exploration. Once its available, it is a great location for taking pictures for wedding or any other occasions.
Cool columns, was under impressed by arboretum, but maybe we went at wrong season. I just wanted more options. Bonsais, herbs, and Japanese walk were beautiful.
Lovely evening walk F.O.N.A. evening walk after regular hours. The temperature was a little warm but pow humidity and a soft breeze made for s fun evening.
Beautiful place for pictures. The bonsai tree museum is close by too and it is worth checking out.
Peaceful getaway from city life. I love it.
This place was absolutely amazing. Beautiful flowers in the summer and awesome trails throughout. Make sure to bring an umbrella for the heat and a picnic as this place is perfect for it. Prepare to walk a lot,but all of the trails are worth seeing and are quite rewarding. Take pictures too while all of the flowers are in bloom!
Nice place to take pictures. I love how open it is. I wish I hsd brought a blanket and some snacks to have a picnic in the grass area!
Such an interesting monument. Stone quarried by slaves that built the old Capitol columns. Its sad this is not mentioned at the site but still a interesting representation of the past.
Way cooler in person than you think. Makes for great photos
Hidden gem in DC. Columns were originally part of the United States Capitol. Wonderful that they did not discard this important architecture.
Its okay during summer, but its definitely better during spring and fall.
These Capitol Columns are in the middle of the Washington DC-s Magnificent Aboretum. These columns were originally used in some of the early Government buildings in downtown WASHINGTON DC . They are huge columns and are a favorite place to take photos!
Its a beautiful place a lot to see .you will love it .
Beautifully historic with a brief, digestible history. These are out in the open without much shade nearby, so remember to wear sunscreen and bring water in the spring and summer.
The columns are interesting looking and have a great back story. Unfortunately they are renovating the area, so the reflecting pool was empty and you could not walk up to the columns because of a small fence. I would have given it more stars if it were open - I came for pictures so they were oddly framed. The rest of the arboretum was great.
Overall the arboretum is amazing and is always worth a visit. The columns are the cream of the crop of picturesque locations in the arboretum. The fountain was on when I visited and it was absolutely beautiful. So beautiful in fact that wedding shoots were going on. Stop by for sure if you visit the arboretum.
Beautiful park to see the fall! The gardens and Bonsai museum are very nice too. Worth a visit!
Its located in Arboretum, a great place to take a hike / drive & capturing great picturesEntry is free for all.
When they renewed the capitol some old columns were placed there with the collaboration from some donators. The way they are placed are great for pictures. Great to visit in the fall with all the leaves in the background changing.
Basically one of my favorite places to go in DC. Great natural environment and relics of Architecture from ages past.
Interesting work. 5 minutes max, and move on. but cool nonetheless
Loved looking at these columns up close and learning about how they were moved from the US Capitol to their current location.
Great place to go and set up a picnic and relax.
Beautiful
Very Highly recommend to visit this amazing place! Its not just gardens, but its peace of art! If you have a free day and havent planed nothing. Please go there and you will be suprised how amazing this place is!
Nice spot to come to in DC. This is more of a place for locals, its not one of the more popular sites in DC so not as many tourist come here. The columns are nice to see and take photos with. You will see many people here having photo shoots. The area is great for picnics so make sure to bring food with you. Parking is available throughout the park.
Really beautiful area - a quiet escape that not many people know about.
Cool place to visit surrounded by a beautiful arboretum! This is a great place to go on a walk or sit and read a book. There is plenty of parking nearby and public restrooms.
Those columns feel like the thousands of years old columns in Greece and Italy.
Excellent place to walk/hike!
Beautiful place, but the mirror pool was very dirty.
Very cool these were brought from the old Capitol and can be enjoyed by all.
Its a good picnic/cycling spot. It was not so scenic at the start of spring season.
Super cool.
There are a few other places to visit nearby. so if you are here check National Arboretum as well.
Beautiful gardens and the columns were neat to see.
Perfect day for forgetting the world around you.
Historical Landmark
Its a very peaceful place
Beautiful open park area with lots of trails, trees, and plants.
Beautiful place
Beautiful
Liked it but it was a lot of walking so i used my car to get there. So be ready to walk.
Beautiful historical area
Take the time to walk around visit all the scenery!
Awesome place to the photo shoot done right in the middle of the National Arboretum
Great location and a must visit for anyone visiting DC
This is building parts from Capitol. Very historical feeling.
Stunning colonnade of pillars from the Capitol building. A lovely spot to take a picture or survey the grounds of the arboretum.
This is a botanical garden with monument made out of discarded columns of capitol building
Feels very cool to stand right where the old colums were! Its nice to see it, but Id wish there were more information panels so I wouldnt have to use my imagination!
Looks old and not well-maintained.
Beautiful.
Good point to take pictures. The columns just stay there by itself and it looks cool without a roof.
Great place for nature lovers
Very special place. Good for romantic couples or large families. Very photogenic. Stop by the bonsai foundation down the hill after.
They took all the original sandstone columns from the United States Capital and replaced them and put the original ones here in this garden. Great place to take photos and see a piece of history. And admission is free.
Exquisite detail on the columns. Wish the fountains were working, but still a great view.
