Beautiful, open air park and square in the heart of downtown DC just blocks from Dupont Circle and the White House. The square is named after Civil War Admiral David Farragut who helped command key naval victories across battles in the Atlantic and New Orleans. During the day, it’s filled with tourists and locals alike, especially near lunchtime for the flurry of food trucks. Stop by in the summer to catch a movie on Friday evenings or some midday yoga as sponsored by the Golden Triangle. And during the springtime, be sure to see the beautiful tulips on the south side of the square.

The square itself is kind of ordinary, but is well supplied for you to enjoy, al fresco, the most outstanding feature of the square: FOOD TRUCKS! Many trucks line the square, featuring all kinds of food. They even give free samples.

A dozen food truck lined two sides of the Square today. Inside the fence, people sat in the chairs and on the benches, some in sun, others under trees and pop-up shelters. Kids circled the central area on scooters while office workers grabbed a quick lunch. It was a good spot to sit and watch people while I had a bite during a long walk through the city.

I enjoyed sitting in this park thats like two blocks away from the White House. I go to the gym ( LA Fitness just a block away from it ) and just chilling in it and enjoying the surrounding. Its very convenient. There are two different metro station which are Farragut West for Blue, Silver, and Orange Lines or Farragut North for Red Line and its surrounded by buses. The public transportation is so awesome

Ja
Review №14

It doesnt matter how it looks...its DC. Farragut is a surprisingly wonderful epicenter of activity: historic sites nearby; great places to eat, both modest and exorbitant; and plenty of entertainment. Let the Metro drop you off and walk the rest of the way!

Farragut Square Park is one of the most fun parks in Washington, D.C. Monday-Friday food trucks flocks around the park selling all types of food. The office workers in the nearby buildings often come here for lunch and sit at one of the many tables or benches throughout the park. They also have events here including free wifi, games, and other activities.

Farragut Square is a city square in Washington, D.C.s Ward 2. It is bordered by K Street NW to the north, I Street NW to the south, on the east and west by segments of 17th Street NW, and interrupts Connecticut Avenue NW.[1] It is serviced by two stops on the Washington Metro rail system: Farragut North on the Red Line and Farragut West on the Blue Line, Orange Line, and Silver Line Lines. For me Slope game Slopex is hard. I only got 6.

Always crowded during food truck season, but a nice place to enjoy the crossword on a park bench. When really crowded, folks will sit on the grass or the statue, as well. A good place to enjoy some sunshine in the heart of the city. Conveniently located right next to the Red and Orange line Metro stops with the same name, too.

Why do I like Farragut Square? Is it the Farragut statue in the middle? Probably not. Its nice and all, but thats not the best thing about this place. Is it the grassy parkland? Nah. I do like nice grass and this has patches large enough for yoga classes. Those seem cool, but Im usually spotting them en route to Farragut North, busily commuting. This might be a good time to mention the squares proximity to the Farragut North and Farragut West Metro stations.Heres what I like: around lunch time, food trucks open up for business on two sides of Farragut Square. Its some of the best food around and what a setting! Grassy seating everywhere -- plus actual park benches.

I like this small square. Its a central hub for this area. It connects you to both the orange and the red metro lines and has nice seating. There are events pretty frequently here, such as a work outside event where they had usb charging stations and seating to encourage people to work on their laptops outside on a nice day. During lunch, the food trucks pile up and there are a ton of choices to choose from. Its always a good meet-up area due to its location and convenience.

Nice park off K and Connecticut. Lots of Benches always space to take the weight off. At lunch time there are food waggons parked and people appear from offices to buy and eat. Get a fresh sandwich or plate of food and find a bench to sit and enjoy. Despite traffic it feels carm and grassy areas help. Theres a statue of a man but for the life of me Ive forgotten who. But helps to feel a bit historical. Good place to rest before catching a bus or Uber. Watch world go by. Its well placed touristically easy white house, ex building. Dupont circle or national geographic etc.

A few blocks from the White House, it is a confluence of Tourists and workers out for lunch during lunch regardless of the season. What with daily individual and group artists giving us live music both at the adjacent Farragut North & Farragut West Metro stations. However, Summer time is more vibrant with lots of activities at the park-- group yoga sessions, office-in the-park at lunch time, games & recreations coupled with free Wi-Fi, the place is always hustling and bustling .
