Nice area to take a walk or jog along the dam. But not my favorite place if youre looking for calm, serene outdoor relaxation.It was a bit too crowded, and not necessarily safe to walk on the dam because of the traffic and narrow space for cars and pedestrians to be shared. Also no shade.But it was great to walk down to the rocks on the water and sit down for a bit.Going out on a boat must be nice, we saw many of them on the lake.

A really great place to go for a peaceful day outside. The quiet may be interrupted every now and then by a passing boat, but overall its a nice experience. Also connects to the greenway so you can start/end a walk or bike ride from there.

I love to ride my bike around the greenway and come around the falls Lake Dam. So relaxing, go explore yoall :)

Tailrace really flowing! Hiked across the bridge and through the woods uphill to lookout point, then back across the top of the dam and down to the parking lot with the kids and dogs. Took about an hour. Love this place. Saw lots of NEW graffiti tho :(

Its a special place. Wish I found it sooner and wish it was a little longer, but really enjoy going and being there.

Very nice park/wildlife area. Beautiful views of the lake and the river. Good fishing along the dam. There is plenty of area to hike and a good deal of it is paved. There is a playground and a few areas with picnic tables. There is parking on top of the dam certain times of the day and parking just off Fall of Neuse with longer hours. You can also bike here and there is an education center as well. Very nice park area for the kids. You can also walk down under the dam to the river from here.

I’m glad we found this place! There is not much people, there’s picnic table and trails and of course place for kayaking and enjoying the water.

Great place for hikes, photography, or just to be in contact with nature. Also, a good place to observe birds in the area.

Absolutely love this area... The small Beach area at the end and the cliffs that are close by that are my favorite.. hung a hammock a few times between some trees and feels like I am hanging above the water... We also took a hike around a huge part of the lake one day which was really awesome... There is also a park for the little ones.. enjoy!!

Its a wonderful ride! Lots of flats. You can cruise... Watch for a couple of sharp turns though!

Not alot of good places to fish when its crowded. Little bit of trash in some areas.

Im kinda shocked that Id never been here before. We walked up to the dam, forgoing the trails through the woods, and were shocked to find picnic tables, a visitor center, and lake access. On the way back down we took one of the trails and it was well marked and maintained.We will definitely be returning here on a regular basis, and walking the greenway thats nearby.

Beautiful paved and wooded trails, a beautiful river flowing through, and a nice visitor center. There are restrooms, places to picnic and cook out, paved trails, and wooded trails (all well marked for hiking.) Theres a really nice range of trails, so you can be in the sun or in the shade, and make it as difficult or tiring as you want.

Gorgeous place to go for a walk, fishing and more. Love coming here.

My wife and I love coming to the Falls Lake Dam area. Its so relaxing and fun. I highly recommend this area for anyone wanting to get out and enjoy nature.

Always had luck with small large mouth from the fishing dock. My 4 legged daughter loves this place to stretch her legs an lay in the cold bank water

Beautiful Place. Kids loved it and enjoyed it. The gate to the Damn is closed on weekends and Holidays. It is a little over half a mile walk from the parking Lot to the Dam. But they do have a parking lot by the bike shop that is a lot closer

Great place to visit. I always feel like I am on vacation. It is so great to see all the wildlife, beautiful lake and river. I feel so lucky this is right in North Raleigh.

Great place to connect with nature

Great park and trail system. You can park at the top off Falls of Neuse and walk/hike/ride down to the dam or if the gates are open you can drive down to the Ranger Station or to limited parking on the dam. Down to the Tailrace and you can fish or just watch the water come out from under the dam.

This part of the lake is beautiful and great for kayaking and canoeing​. Lots of backwater areas that the motor boats dont go. Below the damn is one of the most picturesque fishing spots in this area.

Directions not clear to actual road signs. Bathrooms open year round. Nice trails. Clean and well kept. Two entrances. One from Falls of Neuse and other from Old Falls of Neuse.

It is beautiful, especially on a sunny day, clouds in the sky, and great company, cant ask for anything more.

One of the best places to meet for a bike ride. The dam is fun to hang out on and there a quite a few benches to take a rest on.

This is a scenic little pocket of green space not that far from Raleigh. There are trails for walking, places for boating and fishing, and some great lake views.

My father and I have been fishing here for years. I now bring my son and he enjoys it dearly.

A nice place in the neighborhood of Wakefield to hangout, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking and BBQ. Or, simply bring a book with you to spend a Sunny afternoon by the water.

We have always enjoyed coming here to grill and walk. The top of the dam has great views, and this is the start of the Neuse River Greenway, a walking and biking trail that goes for miles.
