They have a vast and interesting collection of memorabilia for all kinds of sports, athletes, etc., including the Southwest Conference. Take the time to read some of the information boards that are posted with the exhibits. We especially enjoyed the Nolan Ryan exhibit. They also have a nice gift shop with decent prices. I bought a regulation size Razorback football for only $25.
First of all the gentleman working there is such a pleasure to talk with! The exhibit is huge! Just like Texas! Texas sports memorabilia going way back!
Great place to learn some Texas sports history!!
If you like Texas sports, this should be a bucket list place. They have an amazing collection of artifacts and memorabilia sectioned off each category to its own hall.
Sport fans of all sorts would love walking through here. Great history and memorabilia all over, especially the Nolan Ryan exhibit. Spent about 90 minutes on a self guided tour. $8 admission is fairly cheap, free for active duty military.
A good sports hall of fame if you a sports fan you will like it. Me and my family did. Staff very friendly and helpful lots to see.give it a try and you will like it we did.
Very interesting and covered multiple sports.
Interesting. My kids enjoyed it a lot!
This is so worth $8. We spent 2 hours there. There is so much to see and the staff is really nice.
Wonderful place to learn about the history of, not only Texas Sports, but also the people and places around this great State, that have helped to make it happen. The administration were so kind to us as well. They were closing early for an event the day we went, so they charged us half price on the admission fee. Also, they allowed my son to use his college ID,and be recognized as a student. Only wish we would have gotten there earlier, and had more time to enjoy it.
It was okay. Every thing is mostly football, but they have other sports too. It was big and it has a lot of information, but as a volleyball player, I was really disappointed because there was literally nothing about volleyball. They really even had cheerleading, but not volleyball! I left extremely disappointed.
There were some areas that were new and beautiful and other areas in desperate need of a facelift and update. The amount of items and information contained in the displays was informative and impressive. The staff member at the check-in desk was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The regular price would have been fine, but we got an even better deal with the Groupon. Our children were hoping for some more interactive displays and/or introductory videos like we had seen at the Sports hall of Fame in a different state recently
This was a nice place to learn about Texas sports history over the years. The staff was nice and welcoming.
Great little hall of fame. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent size, and worth a visit. I took my kids ages 9-4 and they all loved it! So many artifacts and pictures. They also have an interactive exhibit where you can play some sports.
Great place and restrooms for a huge company party.
This is an amazing place to visit. I highly recommend it if you havent been there yet.
What a beautiful place for a company Christmas party. It’s pretty ingenious that they can use this beautiful place as a venue. Not sure who was catering because that was not good at all. But the place is very nice
I learned alot from this hof, some men and women I didnt know was from Texas.
Beautiful place. Lots to look at and well organized. Definitely recommend you pay a visit.
It is a very nice and interesting place. My nephew had his graduation dinner there.
Cool place. Worth checking out if youre a fan.
Visited and I thought the exhibition was neat. Especially the football room with all the different sports team
Great Texas sports history museum. Loved all the memorabilia!
Though Im not really into sports the Texas Sports Hall of Fame does have some interesting didplays. So it will keep your attention whether or not you have any interest in sports. They have displays for everything from football ( collegiate and professional) to swimming, golf, and even bull riding. You are bound to find something that interests you.
I have been trying and wanted to visit the TSHoF for a long time and finally made it. I was very impressed how much spots stuff and history is packed into such a small place.
Cool memorabilia from Texas high school, college, and pro legends in every sport. The Hall of Fame for the old Southwest Conference is also housed here. If youre in Waco its worth an hour or so of your time.
Must see but some there are some info missing. In the high school football area there is not a list of all State champions. I would think that would be obvious. What about all the other sports across the state. The tennis section was extensive and I learned a lot that I didnt previously know. I liked the old SWC area. It brought back some good memories.Overall a good visit but not many interactive exhibits so kids get bored quickly. I still think it is worth a visit for what is there.
Great to visit
Fun memorabilia for all families or individuals. Low cost huge space spent hours there. Good times recommend to all.
My husband loved it! He love all things sports so Texas sports was right up his alley. They have a cool little simulator for kids!
We absolutely loved visiting the museum! I only wish we had more time to see everything.
For you all things Texas fans this is a great place to go.
Loved the SWC section. Cowboys room was cool. Numerous lights out in other parts of the hall exhibits. Maybe you should invest in led lights.
Could also be called the Southwest Conference Memorial. Interesting exhibits, although not really interactive
Thought there would be more to see but it was pretty limited. Nice place though.
Great sports history museum and my kid loved the simulator....
Great displays of amazing athletes! Hope to see it updated with 2017 World Series Astros memorabilia next time I visit!
So much sports history in those walls. You can spend hours in there
Lots of history organized nicely. Not sure its worth $7 per person is why I only have 4 stars
Awesome place if your in Waco you need to stop in
Very impressive. The museum is much larger than it appears from the outside. It has a very extensive display of all major sports and info about the Tx. athletes inducted. There is also a large display of each of the schools in the former SW conf. There are a few interactive displays for kids.
This place was awesome. We had the place to ourselves. The only complaint is the lighting needs to be upgraded or at least replace the lights when they go out. Went there last December.
Very nice I nephew love it
So interesting!
Very interesting. Sports focus - college teams and nationally recognized TX athletes.
Interesting sports museum.
Very interesting for myself and middle school grandchildren. Inexpensive and visually rewarding.
WOW! LOVED THIS MUSEUM! I highly recommend to anyone passing through Waco and for families visiting their Baylor students!!!
Atmosphere is genuine
Ive been once and Im about to go again the first time was fun i hope the second is going to be too
Loved it. Especially the southwest conference exibit
Really neat place to go! Lots of history from high school up to professional.
Surprisingly very cool!!
After spending a day in this town, I think its fair to call Waco the meh tourist attraction capital of Texas.Cool memorabilia collection, but the rambling layout and poor curating detract from the otherwise interesting stories that could be told here. There are no Hall of Fame plaques or any other designation that a particular athlete is a Texas Sports Hall of Famer. Jus a series of cases jammed full of shoes and balls - most of which have notes but none of which actually add up to any sort of clear narrative. The Southwest Conference collection is a. Definite bright spot but overall, this place feels like a full scale lost opportunity.
Be careful when you are buying items in their little store they charged me twice and refused to correct their mistake.
Worth taking the time to visit.
