Absolutely a gem of Southwest Florida but keep it a secret...we love it for the small town feel. The beach is awesome, water is often very clear and its right on the Gulf of Mexico with Almighty God as the performing artist each sunset and all year round too. Fishing amenities seem nice, well maintained and not extremely long for those who cant move so well. Bring a lunch and something to drink as the immediate availability of affordable food and beverage services is limited to the tasty but pricey tourist restaurant Sharkeys or the well appointed & delicious FINS with elevated views of the beach, outdoor seating and now you can order and pick up to go as well.. Top quality but higher prices. Im poor, so somebody take me to dinner there....
Very nice. Well kept and clean. It was crowded at the end because of all the people fishing.
It you are looking for sharks teeth, look no further then Venice Beach. Walk the breaking waterline, and simply look down for a black shining object. It is most likely a fossilized sharks tooth. Collect them by the bucket full. Try and and collect all the species. If you are looking for Mastodon teeth, simply scuba or snorkel. Venice is the sharks tooth capital of the world. Enjoy.
FREE to park and walk. Pier has a few benches. Great spot to take Breathtaking pictures. Has restaurants nearby. We LOVED this place
This is a great place to come, have dinner and watch the most beautiful sunsets.
Great place to catch little fish, but make sure youve got the right lure on the line.
World Famous Beach Brand New Pier restaurant, fishing!! A great place to Find Shark Teeth
Great place for out of this world sunsets! Plus sharkys serves up great food and drinks.. cant go wrong
Love it! Pier is in great shape and lots of parking available. Sharkys restaurant is located right at the pier as well. Really nice place to visit.
Beautiful view. Can get crowded if you want to fish but it was cool just to watch the fish others pulled out. Theres a little shop right on the pier to get snacks which is very convenient for all the people on the beach who worked up some thirst/hunger.
I have seen many fish caught from this pier. It is also a good place to view Venice and the beach. We saw manta rays the last time we visited. It is next to Sharkeys which is a nice place to eat. There is plenty of parking.
️Beautiful beach and views! Walk the pier, fish, swim, eat at Fins or Sharkys that is located right by the pier. Great place to check out! Little shops to look around in highly recommend that you check it out! ️
We didnt really go to the pier. We went to the beach. Very nice beach. Found a few shark teeth!
Really nice newly built pier. Fun with the family to watch fisherman fish.
Easy free parking with valet parking available at Sharkys restaurant. Nice place to watch the sunset and have a cold drink. Didnt stop at the restaurant but it was busy with outside seating and an upper deck. Small drink store halfway across pier. Didnt see anyone pulling up fish bigger than I would consider bait but relaxing ambiance and clean. Plenty of public restrooms. Service animals only on pier. Free admissions to pier.
Love to watch the sunset on the pier currently they are making some repairs at the end
Beautiful views of the sunset.
Beautiful newly-renovated pier. Also a very good fishing spot! I didnt fish, but there were a few other people with reels in the water while I was there and they caught 3 different fish in a matter of ten minutes! Two catfish and a baby hammerhead shark! There is also a bait shop right on the pier for convenience. Parking is free and there is a pretty wooden walkway to get from the parking lot to the pier.
Beautiful. Also wonderful restaurant and beach. Rent a shark tooth sifter on the pier.
This is a fishing/walking pier that goes out onto the Gulf of Mexico. Going onto the pier is free and offers great views of the coast. The pier has been completely redone. It is very clean and worth the views if in the area. Venice beach is beside the Pier.
Its a shame after spending all that money to replace the pier and make it so beautiful that the engineers didnt think to install some type of pigeon deterrent. Theres pigeon poop everywhere you cant put your hands on anything, if nothing else at this point they should at least put those plastic owls or hawks periodically along the railing to keep the pigeons away. This might prevent poop.
Beautiful sunsets great place to close your Day
Really fun pier to just walk up and down. Did see people catching some fish, but nothing that would be mounted on a wall.
Beautiful beach, glad I got to see it!
Was here 2 yrs ago and will be back. It has fish cleaning stations and lights for night fishing. The rails are cleaner but they are all due to be replaced this summer.
Nice place to see the view of the ocean. It was way too crowded to fish. But I enjoyed my time in the Sun
So beautiful place, water is much much clearer than St Petersburg.
Great place to fish, plenty of room+cleaning stations
Beautiful beach and great fishing pier!
Took a nice drive to see the pier and eat some seafood nearby.
Worth the drive for this beach.
Pier was completely redone. Looks great. Friendly people to chat with. Just watched the sun go down.
An evening walk on the pier gives you a good break from family!
Nice place with all facilities (free parking included )
Had a great time fishing here. Locals are super cool. Very chill spot to fish for sharks. Sharkeys bar is at the beginning of the pier. So if fish aren’t biting then a drink is very close. Food is good at sharkeys. Drinks are good. I had a tequila slushy. It was awesome and blue. Lots of alcohol in it. Cool chill spot!
Would’ve tried to fish had I brought my fishing rod, but it was definitely just as fun watching people catch fish you can’t usually catch in the Intercoastal, also has a small bait shop to restock on bait if needed.
You can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Beautiful and very comfortable place to fish
Enjoy walking or fishing this pier. Glad to have it local w such good food here as well.
Beautiful beach. Very clean. Son didnt have any luck finding sharks teeth but he enjoyed looking.
Beautiful views, great fishing spot!
If you are sensitive to fish smells then dont go here. It smells a lot like fish. Makes sense...
The fishing pier is just remodeled. Its awesome. The fishing can be great at times, but only for people that arent me. I suck at fishing. Ive seen others catch plenty fish there, but not me. However I am sure if you come here you will do great. As for Sharkeys, I havent been yet
A storm was coming in so we didnt get to stay but for the little while we were there it was beautiful. Hoping to come back next week
Good beach with free parking. People say it is great for finding shark teeth and there are several restaurants and shops near or on the phone pier. Unfortunately there were many dead fish in late June 2018 due to Red Tide and we couldnt stay long.
What a great spot! Dolphins swimming around, people fishing, the restaurant at the base, it is a beautiful place to hang out with your fave! Sunset is unbeatable, lots of free parking and huge menu choices... Oh and super cold drinks!! Enjoy
Fun place to walk around
After eating at Fins, my friends and I walked down the pier. The weather was perfect, the people were hospitable and friendly, and the water was perfect. Ive lived in Ft Myers all of my life, and this water is so much better.
Course sand and a lot of broken shells .You can find shark teeth if you work hard at it. Pier was nice to walk out on and look at the fish.
Great place to spend some time, not only on the pier but on the beach and surrounding areas. Good restaurant and place to rent beach equipmentLots of free parking. Watch the sunset...
Great food at Sharkies, pier offers fishing, bait, some tackle. Fishing is hit or miss due to efforts by local government to rebuild the beaches.Sunset on the pier are magnificent.
Great place to fish off of a pier if you are a tourist, because you dont need a fishing license to do so
Reconstruction currently going on (June 2019). Should be much better when theyre done. The previous planks were strange looking. Weve spent many hours on the pier fishing, watching sunsets, and just walking. We have a lot of good memories here. The bait/souvenir shop was a very nice addition.
Very nice
You do not need a license to fish from this pier and can rent a pole there as well. Great place to bring a fishing bud from out of state who wants to try their luck without having to lug any gear and enjoy the sun and view.
Really great to go fishing, no fishing license needed on the peir. Nice beach also.
Hooked a whale of a fish almost pulled me in but I was able to fight it off
It is great to be able to walk out into the gulf Coast and see fishes. Good place to fish and to watch sunsets
Great fishing, nice gift shop, beautiful ocean views! And Sharkys is just steps away for great food and drinks!
What a very nice pier. Clean easy access lots of room for fishing and many fish cleaning stations. Beautiful for sunset viewing. Sharkeys for a cold cocktail is nice as well.
Great place for a sunset stroll.
Very beautiful, great place to see the stars at night, not too crowded but there is a restaurant with a bar by the entrance if you want more life or food and drink. Very well kept place.
Always the best views of the gorgeous ocean.
A beautiful spot especially at sundown. Even with a thunderstorm a very special place to be.
Pier still closed off for reconstruction, sadly (August 2019). Its still a nice area to take a stroll on the beach.
The pier is wonderful, only place you can fish without a license. Stop by Sharkys for a beer
I love this long pier! Bring your fishing pole or just sit and enjoy the view! Guy caught a shark at the end of the pier! You can really see far down the beach from the pier! Nice place to watch the sunset!
Great place for sunset watching
Had a great time fishing with my son we caught 12 fish and fed one of the piers birds some shrimp would recommend everyone come!
Beautiful location! Beach access, free fishing, restaurant and picnic areas. All you need for a wonderful day on the water!
Beautiful views, free parking, great beach...
Just beautiful place to go and relax and think about life and love family
Loved the fishing pier..people helpful and griendly..rented chairs and umbrella..reasonable. sharkeys was great
Great views of Venice and beyond. Lots of amenities bathroom, restaurant stores etc
This place is good! If you want to fish they rent fishing rods.
The view was absolutely beautiful! The beach was calm and clear. I will be coming back
Beautiful sunset. Sharkeys is cool but over priced.
This is a cool place to visit. If you look carefully you might even find shark teeth along the beach. We had the most success under the pier and found a few there. We also saw a bunch of fisherman out on the pier catching cat fish. If you see a kayaker under the pier he is probably taking out fishing lines for people going to catch sharks!
This is an amazing stop! Beautiful Waters and dolphins swimming and jumping by the pier! One of our favorite places!
The ocean is absolutely.beautiful and Venice always has great Shells!
A must in Venice and in this part of Fl. Nice restaurant, a bit crowded though. Don’t forget to look for shark tooth’s in the waters edge.
Beautiful! Clean
Such a clean nice pier
Venice public pier. Fishing off the pier is often good. Viewing the sunset or wildlife (dolphins, seabirds) is usually good. We went on 26 March in the evening to see the sunset and saw that as well as several dolphins swimming around the pier. Got pictures of the dolphins and the sunset.
A pretty spectacular beach, you could not ask for more beautiful scenery. I love the remodel of the pier, it looks UH-MAZING! Free fishing, no fishing license required. Rent a rod & reel for $15 per day, or a Florida snow shovel (great for finding shark’s teeth) for $7 a day. LIMIT: 2 poles per person, and 1 shark-per Florida regulations. No alcohol, no pets on pier. *Papa’s Bait Shop* located on the pier-is fully stocked with fresh & frozen bait, fishing tackle, hot and cold drinks & snacks, and apparel. Nice clean beach, aqua blue water, and gorgeous sunsets. Nearby picnic shelters, volleyball courts, and restrooms with showers. Have a bite to eat, and some cold drink’s at *Sharky’s on the Pier* the only beach front restaurant in the Venice area.
Had a blast here fishing with family ...not crowded
Loved the pier, good variety of species caught including Channel catfish, Sail catfish, bonnet head, hammerhead, and black top sharks, blue fish, Jack and pompano, and snook and ladyfish. Good bait shop that has a great variety and lots of baitfish you can catch. Would recommend a decent sized rod with medium-heavy line just in case
Looks just like the old pier with new woodAll this for the tourist.Still a nice walk.
Super fun and found 23 shark teeth.
Nice spot to take in the gulf or fish or play on the beach.
