Great place for a hike. Easy trails. More adventurous trail follows the river line. Most trails are shaded. Try the south side across the road from the parking lot if the trails on the north side are too busy for you. South side is quiet with good trails and river views

Just visited here 3/17/2019 .. BEAUTIFUL NATURAL FLORIDA ! And for the bad review about not being able to bring your dogs, he is WRONG. You can bring your pets ON A LEASH and IN DESIGNATED AREAS. (It even says so on the website the county has about RULES) I was there an hour, and saw 6 gators, 2 turtles, a snake, birds, LIZARDS, and even a rabbit (ONE LUCKY RABBIT). Check out the blue mushrooms !

Beautiful, quiet spot with a nice variety of trails. The riverside offers a pleasant, more natural trail with expansive views. Great for photography, birdwatching, river watching, or just letting go and enjoying nature.Great for dog walking. Nice picnic areas. Clean. Quiet. Good parking.

Well maintained trails with a side path that runs right along the Myakka River. The main trails are fairly wide and flat and probably could be enjoyed by someone in a wheelchair (the only limit being the chair width as it would have to fit through the entrance). Being further from I-75, the northern side trails are a lot quieter than those on the south side of Border Ave. However they are used by more people.

This a cool place to visit. It is off the beaten path. And is very quiet. If you get sick of the traffic and people. This is a good place to be.

Magical preserve along the beautiful Myakka River. Nothing like it. Delightful place to walk and enjoy nature. Fuzzy oaks, all kinds of waterfowl and the occasional gator sunning along the river bank. Want to step back a few hundred years in time? Just step into Sleeping Turtle Preserve.

This is a beautiful place to take a quiet hike by yourself. Be aware, though, that there arent any bathrooms or water fountains - make sure you bring water if youre exploring. The north park is pretty easy to get around, but the south park shouldnt be visited without a map. Some of the trails are hard to see and theres some horse pop landmines hidden around.

This preserve is a gift to us! With all the development happening. All those beautiful trees torn down. At least we have our preserves! The bonus of this one is that you can bring your dog. And we do!

Lovely looking park but too bad I took peoples reviews for what they were and drove all the way here with two German Sheppards to see a NO PETS SIGN at the entrance to the park. I guess others either are blind, cant see or just dont follow the rules.
