Fantastic paved biking path.

Nice place to park and ride the Venetian Waterway Trail

This is becoming a favorite place for running. Many cyclists are out enjoying this path, and many of them are even polite enough to indicate on your left before they pass. I have run on both sides of the waterway, and the only downside is that the path tends toward boring -- straight and flat. I understand that this is the topography here in this part of Florida, so I didnt downgrade for that.The path is maintained well, and it is open and seems safe. I was a little wary of the safety of my car where I parked behind some store next to Venice High School but it was ok.Highlights for me included watching airplanes land and take off.

Showed investment condos by there. Good marina, boat club, downtown restaurants and shops. Great place.

The VWP is connected to the Legacy trail and Venice is developing its own cycling community. So get a helmet, (unless youre a numbskull), and oh by the way, hearing on your left is a courtesy. Resorting to 4 letter words because whatever reason you have that you dont like it is bad form.

We had a very hard time locating parking and the trail head. There was little if any signage. Most if our time was spent trying to find parking. The trail was fine, smooth and level

This is our go place for morning sunrise jog/walk/bike ride. Quiet and relaxing and right on the Venice Intercoastal Waterway.

I want to thank the people who stopped, stayed with me until paramedics came on Saturday 7/6/2019. I had a very bad fall on rollerblades tripping on something between the concrete. Kate & Anthony who were so kind & helpful while I was on the phone with 911 dispatch Others on bicycles passing by I asked for help looked down said help & rode off.They waited with me & also made certain paramedics knew where to find me. Kate went out of her way to the parking lot as the dispatcher Ashley asked so they could know where I was lying hurt. Anthony stayed by me with good conversation keeping my mind off the situation.I’m extremely grateful to them especially when others didn’t careTHANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP KATE & ANTHONY It’s going to be a while before I am healed but I’d like to take you both to lunch or dinner. I’m also wanting to thank the paramedics from 21 who were very nice and patient with me and in handling me delicately making sure I got to the hospital safely It’s going to be about 6-8 weeks but I’m hoping sooner

Great ride today along this trail! Saw osprey, gopher tortoise. I highly recommend this stretch to bike or walk if you are in the Venice, FL area!

Enjoyed a nice run along the trail. I feel like the city isn’t going out if it’s way to beef up the trail, but it has its moments.

Good cycling and running trail

Liked the nice trail in this park area. It is a concrete trail, basically a double wide sidewalk. I like to start from Shamrock Park, since there is plenty of parking. You can fish virtually at any point. It can be very windy (sometimes it feels like you are going uphill both ways even though it is flat), so be prepared for a good workout. Bring plenty of water, because there arent many places to fill up except for Shamrock Park. You could also stray from the trail at 41/Circus Bridge to get refreshments, but other than that, you are on your own.****

Venice has all these little hidden parks and this is another little cutie!

This is too close to public transportation. It is quite lovely, but there always seem to be people drinking or sleeping on the benches, leaving a mess and wreaking havoc. More often than not, the bathrooms are a mess from people showering in the sinks. If you are stopping to use the restroom, I wouldnt stay longer than that. If youd like to fill your water up, I would recommend the side of the building closer to US 41. It tastes fresher and is colder. The train depot tour is quite brief, as there isnt really much to explain, but the history is interesting and the guides are enthusiastic. An interesting place for a short respite, but I wouldnt stay long.
